Premium Member Obsessed With Love

Hate is an unnecessary need
in the book of necessities.
Love is the key component
within the book of obsessities.

Lust is an unfaithful guide
misguiding towards fake perceptions.
Sincere love is the pioneer
in overcoming deceptions.

Love is that perfect song,
which reminds you of mother's lullabies.
The aroma of an elegant rose,
attracting butterflies.
Picturesque horizons staining the sky,
as birds admire in full flight.
Moon kissing her loyal stars
as curtains are drawn for the night.
An innocent child's laughter
that brings tranquillity to the heart.
A baby's first giggle,
a reminder of God's beautiful art.
Beloveds crossing upon love's path,
as each route leads to their fate.
Tingle of that first kiss,
finally holding hands with your soul mate.

I'm guilty, that's my confession,
LOVE is my only obsession.

Secretly Obsessed

Obsessed with the thought of you
wondering if it's only me or
if you sometimes remember the sweet things you've said
and if you meant them how I took them
or if I'm just obsessed with what's in your head

Obsessed with your very sentences
Every response I take personal
I know it's selfishness
Have you not noticed my eyes?
They hold secrets that only you can unlock
if you'd just take time to fill the thick juices of my pride
It's just boiling with lust, passion, trust and distrust
and other things I obsess over so much

I find myself writing to free myself from this prison I've created
where only you and I reside
I become confused about what I'm really feeling inside and I
try to rid the thoughts that are highly debated as false and I
begin to cry and
think of casting love spells so that the universe can deliver this affair
I know it's unfair
but I don't care

I'm obsessed with what hasn't happened between us
I'm obsessed with your heart and that the fact that
I don't think you've even noticed my selfish innuendos
and secret undertones that blatantly express my lust
Or maybe you have and you calmly remain in resistance of distrust
If you could only read my mind by simply touching my fingertips,
I'm sure I'd catch you out the corner of my eye biting your bottom lip
I'm obsessed with the passion and thoughts I think you have
Obsessing over an experience that I may never have....

Premium Member Obsessed With Flat

It's funny
How did a computer
A silly computer
A flat screened computer
Become my obsession?
I wake up
There it is
Waiting
Begging
Inticing
"Turn me on"
"play with my buttons"

I look at the bright screen
Remembering the Poltergeist warning
"Don't go into the light"
But it's so pretty!
I'm sure I'll be alright

Eyes see
Pupils dilate
Pulse quickens
As my fingers tap feverishly on keys
Traveling to different places with ease
Wondering
Who else sees
Images like these
Hers and hims and other me..s
Infected by their computer disease

Friends I connect with
Around the clock
Ticking while I'm talking
And wrestling with a sock
Late for work again
What a shock

A cup of coffee
on the keyboard spilled
My glowing obsession
is sadly killed
Emotional me
With remorse I'm filled
Then I pause until I'm chilled

I reach for my smart phone
Thankfuly I'm OK
I can keep in touch anyway
Here in my pocket
I have a way to play
A portable flat screened obsession
I can access night and day!

Premium Member Obsessed With Seeds In Nacho Cheese

I’m noticing the seeds I like to buy
are running out in flavor “Nacho Cheese.”
They’ve got sunflower seeds in Ranch, but I
require my nacho cheese ones. Geeez Louise!!

I look it up on Google and I find
they’re selling out. I run to every store!
They’ve got that dang “Dill” flavor, but my kind
is not in stock and won’t be any more.

I know a service station that’s still got
those seeds I love. I’m off! The hunt is on!
I’ll buy up every bag in every spot
where I can locate them before they’re gone.

Some other stations carry them. I dash
from Pleasant Grove to Provo, brandishing
my credit card. I buy them. In a flash,
all seeds in Nacho Cheese are vanishing!

I’m driving south as far as Mapleton!
The chance of finding bags of them is dire
for fellow addicts. I’ve found sixty-one
to last a year before they all expire!

This hunger for phrases incomplete
fiercely engulfs me,
rummaging and drowning
my thoughts to slay the winds
and honor my madness.
When I feel something lighting my mind,
a starburst, a craving, a dream...
this virus from a soul quite delirious
spreads over me like wildfire
flowing through the marrow of veins.

Again , each poem becomes my breath;
another strain from heavens's chime
feeling the trickles raking in my navel,
a tattered quill spinning with midnight...
Not accepting sleep, I'm on the brink
of intoxication holding life’s grail
as traces of dawn freeze...
until my verse's breath wakes into a psalm.

Premium Member I Am Pen Obsessed

I can be tempted from penning
the sun and the bird songs call to me
I want to sketch and paint a scene
and walk about and find inspiration
and I am drawn to go shopping for trinkets
but, none of this will give my words wings
oh, temptation, is a great burden
  yet, in the end . . . . I am pen obsessed

I wash my hands, I wash my hands, I put on a shirt, make sure it is right,
I adjust my tie, it has to be straight, I look in the mirror, it is straight!
I turn around, glance at my back, I polish my shoe, it is shinning black,
I give the mirror, another final check, It is time to get to the office desk !
I get into the car, wear the seat belt, I start my car it is quarter to eight,
I have doubt? have I locked my door? I stop my car, check the front door!
I go back to the car before I start- A doubt? did I close the kitchen window?
I walk back inside, the window is closed! I am back in my car, then I stop the car.
I have a doubt? did I put on burglar alarm? I go back to make sure alarm is on!
Finally I am on my way to my office, driving at speed limit on inside lane,
at the office boss looks me with disdain!
The boss asks me reason I am late? I smile and lie- “its something I ate!!!”
with time my boss why so very obsessed?? to have me work there, he is so blessed!!!
obsessed, bigoted he is such a snob! I am a simple guy, just doing my job!!!

AGAIN…

I find myself drawn to you and ask myself, WHY?
WHY AM I SO OBSESSED WITH YOU?????

I search my soul, looking for an answer, but none comes.
There seems to be no rhyme or reason whatsoever for this COMPULSIVE behavior.
Yet! Knowing this doesn’t seem to stop me.
It would appear that I have no will of my own.
Could it be I am possessed?

Yes! I realize you have never given me reason to think you are interested in me,
Other than the fact you exist.
And when I look at you… you with that blank look on your face
Devoid of any emotion
 IT TURNS ME ON!!!!

I am consumed with thoughts of RAVISHING you
And before I know it…
I have FORCED myself on you
Covered every inch of your body with my passion
Until…I am totally SPENT.

Afterwards…I feel no remorse for what I have done.
Left you lying there drenched in black sweat…the DNA of my soul
That will surely expose me for who I am….
A WRITER…
Who in a fit of passion…RAVISHED…an EMPTY PAGE

Premium Member Utterly Obsessed

Adrenaline pumping, I watched brave Spartacus
take his last doomed stand against Roman oppressors.

Eyes misting with tears, I reached the climax of
a beautifully choreographed West Side Story,
where a modern Romeo and Juliet tale plays out in gang-filled NYC.

Also in the 60’s I sat through a Psycho shower scene
that went on to include a Hitchcockian ending that blew my mind!
From the Splendor in the Grass passion I viewed on tv re-runs
to the innocence of Gidget and Tammy in Love and
to the he-man action of cowboy and war movies seen with my stepdad;
by the end of the 60’s I was helplessly and utterly hooked on movies.

In the later 70’s I vowed to catch a show each weekend from thereon in,
within an actual movie theater where films NEED to be seen and heard!
Multiply 54 weekends a year times 40+;add all the shows from my childhood.
Tack onto that my 80's to 90's video movie marathons.
Onto that add cable movies, series, and Netflix.

How many movies have I seen in my lifetime?
How many movies have I reviewed on internet sites and on Facebook?
It staggers my mind to imagine. I am one of movies’ biggest fans,
and I am . . . utterly obsessed.

Obsessed

Staring into an empty sea-blue Picasso.
Winking, blinking and greasing my wet nose,
Trying to discerpher the rune in my upper
torso.
To see, if I shall for once, think strait.

Then upon my thoughts, I sat;
Thoughts of her; and of her.
Thoughts, that once sufficed the brute, I was,
And of odysseys across her angelic form.

Of Rome, Greece and savage Persians,
Of wars waged and love made.
Of souls of immortals slain,
And of odysseys across her angelic form.

So, I laid upon my sweaty quill.
Yet in my long ashored ado.
Scribling; scribling upon a wet cotton
napkin;
Thoughts of her; and of her alone.

Premium Member Obsessed, Am I Going To See Another Day

Yes, I'm obsessed,
blessed,to be woken by the sunshine
peeking in my window,
touching my face as I lie in bed,
it tells me,
"Good morning sleepyhead, time to start the day."

With happiness of life still running through my veins,
aches and pains, I smile knowing I am still alive.

I sit up on my own, old and gray,
and touch the cold floor beneath my bare feet and stay,
I stretch my arms and legs, and then I pray,
"Thank you Lord for another day." , then I dress.

Opening the door, I step outside into the world, and breathe
the mirth of greeting nature's lullabies,
pleasant fragrance of dewy garden wreaths,
and silent lawn beneath the shade of trees.

I gaze up to the pale blue sky,
and watch a flock of birds fly across,
while a wisp of clouds meander by.

Watch the breeze flow,
running its tendrils through the golden field at bay
leaving a wave of ripples along the way,
spiraling around anything that stands wanting to play.

As the sun slowly goes to rest,
the moon takes his place.
I sit on the front porch in my old rocking chair,
wrapped warm from the cool night air,
and watch the trembling stars.

It all worms its way into my heart,
from dawn until dusk
bringing a warmhearted smile.
I am blessed, to face another day

I do obsess if I'm going to see another day

OBSESSED ABOUT VISUALS

How time grows quiet and immensely spent
When a dab of mixed hues ignite the embers,
That hands dip into oils, a livid intent
As brushes splash the grass and wildflowers
While etching a landscape of trees on bowers,
Contoured forms intoxicate down the spine…
Where words are but mute from a view quite fine.

Shapes become fuller on an easel’s rail,
O birth on canvas fills my soul’s passion
Until resplendent images unveil :
This palette of eyes wet with impression
Comes from life’s need to quench true obsession;
For Art’s desire I cannot leave behind
Enticing new paintings that flame my mind.

Premium Member My Neighbor Is Obsessed With Me

Helena has been rambling for nearly twenty minutes.
I have her blathering on speaker.
I barely listen as I paint my canvas.
Some conversation about her neighbor Ruth
Ruth wants her sister Cookie’s life.
Ruth talks about Cookie’s husband.
Something is wrong with Ruth.
Maybe she is schizophrenic or something.
She has not been out of her house since Tuesday.

Maybe she is sick, I say. Maybe you should check on her.
Helena laughs. I’m not going to check on her!
She spies on me all the time.
Every time I go out, there she is, staring at me.
Hey wait! WHERE is SHE going?
Ruth?
Yes! She is leaving in her car. Right now.
She could be going to a store, I say.
She is obsessed with me! Helena tells me.
There is something wrong with her.
I think she is OBSESSED WITH ME! Helena's voice is rising.
I am barely listening, outlining a tree in green paints.
I think there might be an obsession I think
But I wisely keep this thought to myself.
