The Future Starts Here

The innocence is transfusing
and overturning
the goat skin drums
children of the mills,
children of the junkyard,
alone,
and savaging
and we keep filling them with
mercury, nitrate, espestice, baby bombs
blasted out of their shaved heads
scared,
and foraging

Premium Member Common Melody

Balcony moods
Morning offering;
Song of bird duo

By the yard edge
Bird frolic twitter;
A cheery quartet

Song fills dawn
Sunlight slants;
Window view sparkles

Last night's rain
Wet grounds betray;
Uneven footsteps traced

Joy after sorrow
Traces of old grief;
Ushered out abruptly

Old sepia memories
Silver nitrate etchings;
Old time photography

Haunting faces preside
Mother and father;
Yesterday's courtesy

Today flings
Doors wide open;
Strangers in paradise

Prayers on altars
Everywhere we go;
Living burying the dead

Can you hear
Sounds of old strains;
Voices calling in echoes

This life we live
Takes sterner stuff;
Hope feeds effort

Do you notice
A common melody;
Swirling time after time

Mundane routines
Calls time for after shocks;
Trauma feeds norm

When I listen
Do I hear
Sounds in the silence

Trip to market
Buy and sell;
Barter for things

Hate is fear exposed
Let love attend trade;
Poverty lives painful hatred

Look up and see
Dawn in a flash;
Insight reveals truth

Contagious Hate

How much hate can a terrorist create?
Truck loads for those who decided my mate Deans fate
The date 12th of the 10th 2002
Two ammonium nitrate bombs blew
It was an attack by a pack of rats
Murdering my mate on holiday with the Kingsley Cats
Celebrating a grand final victory by partying in Bali
Why did it have to be?

Dam Abu Bakar Bashir, Amrozi and the rest of Jamal Islamia
These cowards intentions were clear and severe
To inflict fear on westerners and to kill Aussies just having a beer
They want to plunder
Unless they kill all of us there only gonna make us stronger the hatred can't go on any longer
Those had no cause or any remorse for using force to fight their so called "holy wars"
Which were said to be based on their religious souce
At the same time breaking their religious laws
No one should have a problem with any race colour or religion
Only a problem with any murdering individual that are in them
Weather it be Hindu, Muslim, Cathlic or Christen, black or white is no justification for a fight

Premium Member November Can Be So Rude

What a dreary midnight November
Nitrate toxicity this New York City
It should never have happened

Our first winter snow, what a low blow
Congestion, Cough, Runny Nose, Sore Throat
Bengay , Dayquil and Nightquil

Night come early
The dawn cometh late
Ice on the dash board
And the Mailman always late

No wood in the furnace
No white throated sparrow to sing a song
The earth is constantly shifting. “My God How long
To stressed out to sleep
Oh how I love my cup of
Soothing Ginger tea

Why must we suffer?

The Vip Bathroom

The bathroom of this trailer house on stilts was the only place i wanted to be. it was where all the dope was made. It didnt have beautiful people or velvet ropes. But if you where in it you where a VIP. Standing outside you had to look up at this tiny bathroom window. Hoping and praying i got in before the smoke started to roll out from the window. Like any VIP room there where certain requirements for getting in. Dress code was black ,so that you couldnt be seen by the camera hanging right next to the stairs, or from the feds watching in the woods. Price at the door was a minimum of 1 box of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride. You where also to behave a certain way while in the VIP. No loud talking. you must be willing to extinguish any fire that might start at a moments notice. hold the bag of fuel just right so not to spill the dope. Or add liquid fire to the bottle of pickling salt and not spill a drop, because they call it liquid fire for a reason. Must be able to bag the leftover guts from the lithium batteries quickly because the whole neighborhood can smell it the instant its opened. Must be calming to cook and friends but not to calming where he passes out with a bomb in his hand. Must be able to start a huge fire to destroy the "Bones" without leaving whats called as an egg of ammonia nitrate. you must be willing to hide in the shower with rolling bottle of fuel when concerned loved ones knock on the door. must be willing to repeat until your life comes to an end.

Premium Member Just Us

Suppose there is no life in space, just us. And we inhabit Mars,
air condition Venus. Hold family barbecues, national holidays
on Mercury. Fly to Jupiter for spas of ammonium nitrate.
And go farther afield in the galaxy and on to other galaxies
leaving behind map-faced men, crow-like women and open gates.

Who will be the first-born human on the moon? News
from the moon colony! And so on, on every planet where
we've visited and established dusty villages or vast cities
over thousands of centuries. Then, will we not have somewhere,
somehow, under some sun's rays become another species?

Happy Anniversary, Gaza

will the Palestinian children of Gaza
who get sicker by the day
from drinking the polluted water
(caused by the Israeli government’s
Operation Cast Lead 2008-2009
bombing of Gaza, which obliterated
the sewage system there, subsequently
leaking poisonous anemia & cancer-
causing nitrate levels into the water
system, with a blockade still running
that keeps the people of Gaza from
having any access to clean water)
remember,
if they live to do so,
the FREE ELECTION in 2006
when Hamas was brought into the
government there,
making both Israel & it’s big brother
(whose attempt at overthrowing Hamas
failed)
just downright pissy?

will the Palestinian children of Gaza
who get sicker by the day,
remember the temper tantrums thrown
by big brother empire & its little arms
warehouse in the middle east
just because they didn’t get what they
wanted
(violating international law---
nothing new to either of them---
wrapping themselves around the tiny
strip of land in order to further strangle
the Palestinian people trying desperately
to survive there)?

how could they forget.

Premium Member Black Powder Recipe

A dandy simple homemade mixture
Made in my grandma’s kitchen sink.
Potassium nitrate, a staple fixture
Oh, you and yours use charcoal? Wink! Wink!
Yes, it is legal on my own property.
Come on out, and watch me blow up a tree.

Memento

Our wishes tattooed on my membrane mind,
Silver nitrate of love with womankind,
While we lazed in the lap of a springtime dream,
Of our futures baptised in a sunlit stream.

The mill wheel turned the canvas sail
  That caught the wheat-germ breeze,
Our youth played tag with fleeting hours,
  And the daily grind sauntered with ease.

We were young, hedonistic, transcending mistakes,
Marking the time with treasured keepsakes:
A memento toy of the primal birth,
Of flowers plucked from out the earth,
Of poems read at close of day,
Of breakfast tea we poured away,
Of worlds that turned in hearts of gold,
Of holiday junk and wine grown old,
And a vault to lock the future in
As houseplants bloomed, year out, year in;
‘Till a dark red void gaped cold and still,
An empty space we could not fill.

Our dreams engraved on each tangle and plaque
By midnight chisels enamelled black,
While we laboured in lungs of winter breath,
Our beings resisting treaties with death.

The last of the laughter dying away,
  Like a gallows ghost in the air
And Old Father Time with his sand dancing steps
  Had crept…whilst we slept…unaware…

Fifty Frames a Second

Farewell to the order, cried in depth,
A surface skimmed flat stone,
For sure the past drinks slower breath,
Cold-cocked and slow deflating;
When the tyres kiss the steely rims
And wrecks replete with rusted hubs
Drop over distant hills.
Only backfires and laughs remote,
Crackled, reticent, teary mist
Calls some faraway vagabond chord
Resonance flecked with Autumn frost;
For futures crook a tapered claw
Towards the sun or flyblown lamp
With essays in cement.
Farewell to the friends, going to ground
In some blue remembered bar room
Or vaulted in a rift in time;
Fifty frames a second played
Circuitous peepshows in the mind,
As silver nitrate lightening flashed
Glimpsed meanings of a life...

Icon

I am blinded by her image,
A lone sainted visitation,
Marching on the snow swept steppes,
A ghost in isolation.
I glimpse a tribal statuette,
On white-gold desert plain;
A stallion black as ebony,
A charge of love and pain.
As celluloid flaps off the reel,
Like batwings in a dream,
The tearful burn of incinerate
Engulfs the dying screen.
Murdered in the cheap seats,
Oh, my weeping heart be still;
Impaled on silver nitrate shafts,
Such radiance drains the will.
The film has died a death,
Yet down remains the light,
And embers sear the filter
In the clapperboard of night.
Though succumbed to reality's plague,
Fading in the neon spill,
In my mirror image eyes of love
Her vision lives on still...

Premium Member mad as a hatter

Mad as a hatter is a phrase that came naturally about
In the eighteen hundreds hatmakers were going insane
Using mercuric nitrate, which removed skin from pelts
A poison that had them acting funny, going postal
Another phrase that came along much later
In deference to postal workers who went insane
From the mundane repetitiveness of their jobs.
