Best Nimble Poems
It’s the first Olympics on the moon,
And the crowd is all in helmets and suits.
Out walks the champion at the crack of noon,
And kicks the moon-dust from his boots.
The pole-vault is the upcoming event,
But no high bar is seen in the sky.
Aloft in a rocket module the champion went,
To his homebound spacecraft flying high.
So lovely you grace the height of glory,
Repeating nightly to the listening earth the wondrous story.
I read in your looks a knowing judge of love,
A knowledge acquired by eyes peering long from above.
Then, with pretty flight, you perch the throne
And listen to the musings of the owl in his somber tone.
His song to you makes the crickets sing,
And a harp plays as God tunes the strings.
Gleam forever, moon of my fancy dreams,
For never are the droplets of sunlight as sweet as they seem.
Jack be nimble, you must also be quick
Nobody's looking, give her popsicle a lick
She'll cry out with pleasure
As you lick her sweet treasure
Watch out for her daddy who carries a big stick

Jack always carried his candlestick,
ready to show off his jumping trick.
His speed and strength were better than luck
and he wanted more bang for his buck.
Cavendish McDare known as Jack-be-quick,
thought he was faster than dynamite wick.
Right before Jack was blown to smithereens,
his mother washed too much starch with his jeans.
...or Jack be walking funny for a while...
Jack was nimble,
And Jack was quick,
But he miscalculated
That candlestick.
It was skinny and tall,
He was thick and quite small.
When he lit,
It was with an undignified bump,
With a blister
The size of his fist on his rump.
Then a notion occurred
To this game little actor,
Before he tries it again,
Jack will use a protractor.
Building walls around my heart secluded
a second helping of worldly prevalence.
Stunting evolving insight, purposely eluded,
to falter the pain of such an incidence.
Finely crafting a masterpiece, a show
to entertain the ones who stand.
Indifferently freedom is offered to grow,
available to who takes the hand.
My emotions force a battering-ram,
beating erratically, watching the darkness rip.
This feeling unexpected turned a friendship
into something greater than I am.
And I breathe deeply in the inevitable truth,
realizing that honesty will bring liberation,
that no wall will ever soothe,
the purest feeling in creation.
As stones fall loudly around me
and crush violently against the norm.
I light a roaring fire for you to see
should you seek it in the storm.
I am light and power, I am love and sound.
A great spirit in a small world, that cannot be bound.
Nimble fingers playing along
This black lung rending mining song
It touches your soul and lingers
Playing along nimble fingers
Heartache breaking common miner
Could ne'er be sung any finer
A strong tune that's overtaking
Common miner, heartache breaking
Match the tempo of mountain man
As long and as fast as you can
Guitar with blues, a great combo
Of mountain man, match the tempo
This tune that flows from within him
Will never let the lights go dim
Tap tap your feet and match the throes
From within him, this tune that flows

Jack be nimble
Jack be quick
But Tom's slowing him down
Too much laughter makes him sick
Jack is collecting himself
Up off of the floor
Tom's going to have a field day with this
And just write more
Two talented men
Making all of us smile
I'll never catch up
Or have their style

Is where you will see
All the best poets
As these two have come to be
It's cold and damp
Where my fingers lay.
Under this sheet I silently pray.
I pray for the use of different ways.
I pray for his urge and need to stay.
I pray for the right to feel this way.
I pray for the wait of another day.
Another night.
Nights when my skin is
Wet with dank sweat.
Nights when my heart would
Be felt through his chest.
Nights when this burning
Is finally at rest.
When I no longer pray.
When it's cold and damp
Where my fingers lay.
Jack be nimble,
Jack be quick.
Jack jumped over the candlestick,
but Jack wasn't so nimble.
Jack just isn't that quick,
and now Jack has third degree burns all over his
...I don't think I can finish this one here at the soup.
Jack be nimble, you must also be quick
Nobody's looking, give her popsicle a lick
She'll cry out with pleasure
As you lick her sweet treasure
Watch out for her daddy who carries a big stick
looney like fresh fruit
China never did give a hoot
at balloon would shoot
we had been enduring
countryside balloon touring
problem could be curing
balloon like owl would growl
wondered what was rational
of trail resembling towel
what we would admit
after water when it hits
balloon became tiny bits
fingers cold and nimble
balloon had caused us to tremble
we would reassemble
Bulky ute voyeur selects sleek sporty stalion
Driving by, supersedes her oversized sedan

Voracious engine's enthuse easily enchants
Large car cast dispelled by lacklustre Calais

Capable crazy bitumen baby, tester pleased

Too Great of a Man
Groaning and mourning
Separate body from mind
Joking, poking and rocking
Calm nerves, propping me up to find
My way back home
Where I cavort into the comfort
Body and mind need to roam
Free of the discomfort
I encounter when from home I stray
Hoping to delight my heart, to leave the past behind
When to my God I pray
As in stock I nurture no axes to grind
With either friend, fiend or foe
In sane circumstances and distances
Ensuring hoe and woe
Disenfranchise no gallant glances whose dances
Ascertain body and mind cooperate
In perfect union with objectives
I’ve set to operate
Within modicum motives
Driving initiatives I take
Within the ambit of my powers
To correct a mysterious mistake
Concealed in favourite flowers
I tendered to my secret admirer
To placate misgivings she expressed when I broke the news
We were no longer interested in views held by the inquirer
Who chose to block the engagement that run counter to his vitriolic views.
Nimbleness on my piano softly.
I hear the notes on high lofty.
Others come, and tickle tunes.
Listening intently, in my room.
We've moved and taken it with.
I play for my puppies, a gift.
It sits again in my dining area.
In tune, wooden condition fair.
For now it sits. I hear discs long
All day as my player plays on.
