Best Need To Know Poems
YOU NEED TO KNOW
To live the life of attraction
You really need to take this action
First of all you need to know
Where your thoughts are you shall go
Be aware of all you think
Your thoughts are where you’ll find the link
Your thoughts are the link to state of bliss
The keys to glory that can’t be missed
Who is it that you want to be
Act on that thought accordingly
For when you do, with joy you’ll shout
That you’ve become what you think about!
What we think, we attract
Nothing ever has been so exact!
I live my life in this way you see
What ever I think I attract to me
I strive to fill my world with bliss
And always hold my thoughts to this
It’s not your genes that make up you
It’s what you’re thinking to be true!
We are the consequences of our thoughts
Think bliss my friend is what you ought
For in this state lies immense satisfaction
We become what we think about
It’s called the law of attraction!
As thy shadows cast gloom over my eyes,
I feel my heart pounding faster inside,
Telling myself I can't live by these lies,
Wondering if times shall change this low tide.
Searching for an answer, I lay and wait,
Aware only of thy pain that remains,
Leaving my heart and soul to their own fate,
I turn to you for comfort ‘til this wanes.
For in your eyes, I lose myself it seems,
Needing only your time and your sweet smile,
When I'm with you, it's beyond any dreams,
Please tell me you will stay just for a while.
Together we'll find the answers we're due,
All I need to know is that I have you.
Here's a bit of trivia from World War Two I'll bet you didn't know,
Concerning the war-time Prime Minister of Japan, Hideki Tojo of Tokyo.
After the war hapless Hideki was jailed in Tokyo's Sugamo Prison,
Where he was given a new set of dentures 'cause he was losing his'n.
A waggish American dentist, determined to make a lasting 'impression',
Etched on Tojo's choppers in Morse Code this immortal expression:
'REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR" - 'Twas America's stirring battle cry!
He eternally gnashes his teeth in perdition after he was hanged to die!

True Story!!!
Somehow I always knew you would die, you had the mark of a man that will not make it,
It had to happen, you had so much to live for, a wife, a child and a good solid family,
The sight of the blood and suffering you found it hard, I saw you turn your head away,
I would bet my boots that you look down from heaven and still you turn your head away.
What's it like up there, can you sleep at night and is it so cold it makes a man cry,
When you smile does the mud caked on your freezing face crack when it has dried hard,
Are there black and white rats that feed on dead bodies the whites going for the eyes,
Do you have someone to hold you and whisper kind soothing words, quietly in your ears.
Was there an angel standing near as you climbed up the ladder for that very last time,
I need to know! is there is an angel sitting by me on the very long and lonely nights,
Please, please tell me there is more than this and that one day this will all go away,
It's been so very long and so very hard, I need to know my friend I just need to know.
You was a decent friend and I miss our long talks on these long bitter winter nights,
We talked of home and I sobbed, your kind words of hope kept me going, in hard times,
I wished we had been friends before this, you were a good kind man and a good friend,
Somehow I always knew you would die, you had the mark of a man that would not make it.
She is my life and love and everything I need to know.
She is my strength and health whenever I am sick and slow.
her light sticks to my heart all day long: she shuns my shadow.
Comfort springs from her arms: she is my pleasant pillow.
A lovely lady, so bright, bold and beautiful.
A priceless princess, so cute, cool and colorful.
She is the sweetest song in my mouth, I can’t stop to sing.
She is my dearest dream, a courteous queen for a kind king!
She is an immortal image, a perfect painting… an alluring art.
She is every blessed blood flowing through my humble heart.
She soothes my soul and spirit with her cheerful charms.
She takes me to a wonderful world whenever I’m in her arms.
A darling dame whose sensual smiles rock my ribs.
She tames my heart and head …with her tender tease.
Her fine face and figure takes me to a sensual space;
She has got a pleasant picture that old age can never deface.
She is the smile I need to make me go the extra mile;
the unsinkable ship that can sail me safely on the Nile.
She is my hope whenever it seems my life is wearing away
She is a home-maker with a radiant role to perfectly play.
She is an immortal image, a perfect painting…an alluring art.
She is every blessed blood flowing through my humble heart.
She is a passionate poet, with terrific theme, thrust and tone.
She has got rhymes and rhapsodies that thrill me on my throne!
She is a dazzling damsel: a sweet angel sent from above.
She is the reason I am singing this song of life and love.
She is a trailblazing tale, only a wise man can truly tell;
She is that flawless flower for whom I finally fell!
She is my sun at noon and the shining star in my sky at night.
She is in every picture I see, whenever I look left and right.
She is a sweet story without end because words are not enough...
cool, calm and careful but sometimes she appears to be tough.
She is an immortal image, a perfect painting… an alluring art.
She is every blessed blood flowing through my humble heart.
She is lovely, lively and laudable; faithful and full of fun.
She is every thing I need to know, … ‘Is she the one?’

Do I really need to know
Why the Flycatcher
Sits atop the tallest weathered pole
On a spring morning
And releases this most fantastic trill,
Rides it higher and higher
To a manic rage,
Causing every living thing for yards around
To pause and take notice,
Be captured—
Lifted—suspended with lyric madness?
And do I really need to know
Why the rose
Tilts its blossom bright,
In a most flirting way
Toward the blushed face
On a rising sun?
And do I really need to know
Why bees and butterflies,
Make daily deposits and withdrawals
In open light, clear of armor,
No guard these faithful vehicles flit and fly,
Bankers free as sky?
And do I really need to know
Why you love me
And I love you,
When in those moments
Of separation
There is nothing…
Not even space to count—
For space can always
Be filled by something,
But true love
Either is
Or is not?
Many days and long lonely nights have passed.
Leaving anguish memories to moan and last .
Deeper goes each scar.
Bringing pain from far .
Don’t know to die or live.
Too hurt to take or give.
Crushed from inside .
With a happy smile outside .
For no one needs to know .
Where pain comes from and where it go .
Inquiring minds need to know
why some things make no sense.
Like why the grass is greener
on the other side of the fence?
And why is it when we're shopping,
looking for Pants to wear,
even though we buy just one,
they always come in pairs?
There's simply no rhyme or reason,
no wisdom, clues, or tips,
that explain why shipments are sent by Cars,
and cargo is sent by Ships.
Another puzzling question that puts
understanding on the spot,
is why we park on driveways,
and drive on parking lots?
And what about this Teflon,
a modern miracle of Man.
If nothing sticks to Teflon,
how'd they stick it to the pan?
These are just some questions
that keeps us puzzled so.
And we'll keep searching for the answers,
because inquiring minds need to know.

If he makes you wonder just how much you're loved
Then baby he's doin' it wrong
If his heart doesn't melt at the thought of your touch
Then you're somewhere where you don't belong
If he's not seein' stars every time you make love
Then I know a place you can run
You need to know that I'd love you better
In my eyes you'd see nothin' short of forever
My heart would follow wherever you go
I'd be all in baby body and soul
You need to know
If when you're apart he don't go insane
Then I'm tellin' you somethin' ain't right
If the smell of your skin the taste of your lips
Doesn't light up his fire
Then I know somebody who'd trade everything
To be what he never could be
You need to know that I'd love you better
In my eyes you'd see nothin' short of forever
My heart would follow wherever you go
I'd be all in baby body and soul
You need to know
You'd never feel second best
Or have to ask me where you stand
You need to know that I'd love you better
In my eyes you'd see nothin' short of forever
My heart would follow wherever you go
I'd be all in baby body and soul
You need to know
I don’t know all I need to know
To mount the mighty mountains
To sail safely on the stormy sea
And walk wisely in the wilderness
Dear lord, you’re all I need to know
I don’t know all I need to know
To fight this fearless, fiery foe,
To win the war in this wild world
And win Christ’s colorful crown
Dear lord, you are all I need to know
I don’t know all I need to know
to stop staying in this sinful state
to stop walking in the weary way
And quit lingering in a lonely lane
Dear lord, you’re all I need to know
I don’t know all I need to know
To pray, praise and… preach
To wait on your will and words
And lead a lovely, lively life
Dear lord, you’re all I need to know
I don’t know all I need to know
To pick the passport to paradise
To get to that great golden gate
And get to heaven, my happy home.
Dear lord, you are all I need to know.
Why
Trying to derive meaning from meaninglessness.
Comprehending a thing I never believed in.
Performing executions within the lines of my Hippocratic oath. Do I save or feed this overdose? Bury feelings under pill after pill. How do you heal an American ill? Lie? Bare truth and grin while basking under Old Glory's shade. Salute during homecoming parades while twenty-two veteran's graves are laid. How can I lay down at night, when I have so much fight? They say make peace with it. Find the reason in it. I could, if I believed it. I could if I didn't know the before and after effects. If I didn't know LT Burke would die just outside FOB Prosperity's gate. Hasn't heaven had enough of angelic recalls? Make sense of it? How do you answer why, when there never should've been a how? Consumed like flesh eating bacteria was inserted in my mind. Thought devoured eating up time. If I could ask, I'd want to more after every answer was given. Perhaps, it was meant for me to get on with living. Perhaps that's what it is. If I believe it, it might make it so... I need to know.
I just wanted to say
you blow my world away
Give me brightest days
and you take my breath away
I really must tell
that you make my heart swell
Our souls forever dwell
after I saw you and fell
I think I should explain
that you take away my pain
In my mind remains
infectious love on the brain
I feel the need to shout
what my life is all about
I'm yours without a doubt
I'm taking this new route
I've got the urge to say
I just hate to be away
So keep here to stay
in your arms, if I may.
EVERYTHING I NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED FROM HEMINGWAY
“Man is not made for defeat.
A man can be destroyed but not defeated”
These words from Papa Hank are true as can be
And so to myself must often be repeated.
No man ever spoke truer words, to my heart
My life lived by what his yet represents
Should I wish to meddle in the affairs of others;
“All things truly wicked start from an innocence.”
“The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.”
Reminds me that caring and loving mean taking the step first.
There is no crime in being proved wrong
But judging rightly is the heart’s boon reimbursed.
Of his prose – books have been written, enough has been said,
While most of the world forgets his gift of verse sublime
His maxim I’ve taken as my own – “All my life I’ve looked at words
As though I were seeing them for the first time.”
The parley between author and reader akin
To carefully negotiated transaction
But engagement is primary, exposition a crime,
“Never mistake motion for action.”
“I have learned a great deal from listening carefully.
Most people never listen.” Oh, but I do,
I stilled my wild soul, held my breathe until cold
As my writer’s heart listens to you.
“The world breaks everyone, and afterward,
Some are strong at the broken places.”
So I feel his strength in the frame of my life
As his philosophy my poet’s pen embraces
And there is my affinity, my ties to the quick
To the heart, soul and wit of the man
For “A writer’s job is not to judge,
But to seek to understand.”
