Miss Muffet sat upon a velvet stool
I know 'twas a tuffet; learned that in school
But Muffy was the tart
Who broke the spider's heart
I'm telling the story, so shut up, fool!
Humpty Dumpty had no wisdom at all
That stupid raw egg sat upon a wall
Tempting luck, he gambled
Kerplunk...he got scrambled
Oh what dire fate for an egg to befall
Robbie Rabbit had a fly on his head
It flitted to his tongue where it fell dead
Robbie's halitosis
Was a bad neurosis
He was banished before allowed to spread
The scoop on gardener, Mary Mary
Is she liked to sip Bristol creme sherry
Her tummy was growing
Pregnancy was showing
The dad? Tom, Dick, Harry; maybe Jerry
Jill followed Jack up that hill on a whim
She thought he was cheating on her with Kim
The buxom preacher's daughter
Jill was jailed for slaughter
She beat both of them with Jack's bloody limb
Such a bad little boy was Jack Horner
Spent many hours in the time out corner
Jack was dumber than dumb
Ate plum pie with his thumb
Wagged his purple tongue at each laughing scorner
There was a speedy racer, called the hare
He was so fast, thought he'd have time to spare
The tortoise whooped his butt
The hare shouted some smut
I won't repeat it. No way I'm going there!
I read the tale about Cinderella
Who went to a ball to snag a fella
Bippity boppity boo
She ran off and lost a shoe
And stepped in some sticky mozzarella
Hey, where are ya going, Baa Baa, black sheep
Leaving your meadow, Master, you're a creep
You sheared off my wool
Tired of your bull
I'm joining the herd of Little Bo Peep
Three oinkers built houses with diverse ideas
Straw and sticks? Those guys drank too many beers
The bad wolf huffed and puffed
Piggy three had him handcuffed
The bricker was much shrewder than his peers

I could smell that fresh baked dough, rising up
through the air. Created from double zero flour,
from Italy, carefully prepared.
A fine effort, was made to preserve this delicious
perfection. A secret recipe handed down from
generation, to generation.
All the spices were fresh, to create an awesome
flavor. San Marzano tomatoes, fresh garlic,
and basil to savor.
The crust looked crisp, as this creation was pulled
out of a wood fire oven. Melted provolone, mozzarella
and asiago, cheeses, I was Loving.
As I chewed, my taste buds were having a love affair
with the tomato sauce. For me it would never again,
be store bought.
I would love to share a slice with you, because I know for
a fact, you'd find it delicious too!

Hickory, dickory, dock.
Jerry the mouse ran up the clock
Tom smelled him from afar
Jumped up on top like a star.
Jerry as always was quite wise.
And with a rod struck Tom’s eyes.
The cat fell nastily on the clock
And received a decisive knock.
But alas the clock fell to the ground.
Mammy Two Shoes with a broom chased Tom around.
Jerry slinked into the kitchen for cheese
Cheddar, mozzarella, stilton and more of these.
But Mammy Two Shoes mad at Tom’s disaster fling,
With a broom chased him to make him sing.
Then threw him in the garden quite dark,
Let Spike bully dog ran after him with a bark.

Tumble, crumble cornmeal, salted flour
Stream olive oil
Feed water and toasty yeast with sugar
Crinkle, rumple, crease, and fold
Smooth a silky, doughy globe.
Cover, leave the orb to grow
Keep baby warm
Wrap with snug and swaddling towel
Linger, loiter, wait and proof
Sing a sunny, happy tune.
Overturn the ball on flour
Dust a wooden pin
Feed heart and conscience with honey
Rotate, flatten, compress, admire
Make a downy, level sphere.
Bridge the stretchy bread to pan
Curl edges like leaves
Swirl and ladle a coat of tomato
Thick, chunky, bright, and red
Sway to kitchen melody.
Peppers, onions, olives, chokes
Sausage for some
Rain down the mozzarella and Swiss
Turn and toss, precipitate
Drizzle a snowy blend.
Push the pie into a hot cathedral
Pray for happiness
Think about joy and contentment
Pause, watch, patience, serenity
This journey bakes the future.

I went to a cheese and wine party on Saturday,
where huge platters of cheese were on display.
There was Gorgonzola and creamy white Brie,
I devoured huge chunks with a glass of Chablis.
Danish Blue, Mozzarella and Swiss Emmental,
of course I had to try a sample of them all!
I declined Edam and Gouda, I find them too waxy -
and the last time I ate them I was sick in the taxi!
Soft creamy Camembert and blue Roquefort,
went down a treat with a glass of vintage port.
Crumbly Cheshire and Cheddar were so divine,
and tasted heavenly with red Beaujolais wine.
I’d chomped through all of the Stinking Bishop,
our hostess had to restock the whole dish up!
Then I munched little cubes of Monterey Jack -
if my doctor saw me he’d have a heart attack!
When our host carried in a blue Stilton in a truckle,
I loosened a notch on my now straining belt buckle!
I admit blue cheese can smell like men's sweaty socks
but ripe Stilton and crackers, this cheese simply rocks!

Can you forget that piece of cheese
that you inhaled? Oh, just a crumb it was.
But breathing while chewing, then choking!
Was it Cheddar, Cheshire?
Or that Limburger, Parmesan?
But, oh, that piece of cheese!
Not a morsel you'll forget,
or a temporary amnesia that will bring you peace.
A double Gloucester, some feta or mozzarella?
What about that Parmigiana-Reggiano?
Better, far better, not to inhale
a piece of cheese. It's peace you need.

In the world of pasta, there’s one that can’t be beat.
And it’s made with zesty sauce, cheeses, and with meat.
Put some water on the stove; get it nice and hot.
Add wide noodles, fluted-edged, to the boiling pot.
Meanwhile, simmer your meat sauce. Nothing’s better than
what you’re going to prepare, layered in a pan.
On the bottom goes the sauce, noodles over that.
Then the cheeses (I use three). Never scrimp on fat!
Mozzarella, even Cheddar - what a cheesy mix.
No Ricotta? Cottage cheese can be an easy fix!
Layer noodles, sauce and cheese; Parmesan on top.
Then dig in; but once you do, it’s real hard to stop!

A Sharp Cheddar sun,
with a Swiss cheese moon.
A Blue cheese river flowing,
with sweet Romano fumes.
A Parmesan pathway,
with some String cheese logs.
To enjoy the Asiago butterflies,
and the Fontina frogs.
Gouda birds singing,
in the Mozzarella trees.
Havarti caterpillars climbing,
on the Pepper Jack leaves.
Aged Cheddar flowers,
with Fontina bees.
A cottage cheese mountain,
and a Lorraine Swiss breeze.
Here I will stay forever,
in this lovely land of cheese.
If you care to stop by,
bring some crackers please.

Perfect Pizza
Empty the kitchen of red wood trees and chairs
Clear all phones and children from the room
Build a giant cooking space right there
The area must be six times larger than the one before
Place a big wooden table in the center
When construction’s done the fun begins
Buy an oven ten feet wide and then you start
Roll the mammoth dough until it’s thin
And six feet in circumference
Pour 2 gallons of fresh tomato sauce all over
Use a little basil for some flavor
Bake it until its crisp and let it cool
I like to add my naked wife as a topping
Make sure she showers first
Don’t want no dirty pie
I Place mozzarella and olive oil gently about her
And sprinkle Parmesan all over sweetie pie
Trying not to get any in her hair or eyes
Then roll the pizza around her like a blanket
Start at the edges first and eat it slow
When finished or satisfied
Lay back and have a coke
Save a slice for later
Smile and love that pizza pie

It tastes like heaven, with dripping cheese,
Pizza tempts me like sorghum does bees.
Mouth is overwhelmed by the deliciousness,
I am completely allured by the lusciousness.
Delectable, scrumptious, mouth-watering;
With the Mozzarella cheese topping.
Pizzas are not meant to be eaten in haste,
They’re meant for satisfying the craving for taste.
Pizzas have a firm round doughy brown bread base,
Their aroma tempts me from every pizzeria pizza showcase.
A little salty with a gooey satisfaction,
Even novice eaters show a wonderful reaction.
The way one wants, one can toss;
And top it with vegetables and red sauce.
Some prefer cheesy, some prefer meaty,
Some prefer chewy, some prefer crunchy.
Be it a great connoisseur or a novice pizza eater,
Pizza has a standing on everyone’s food meter.

Sausages, sausages, sausages,
An ongoing string,
Attached by a swirl and twirl,
Now there’s a thing,
One runs into the another,
How many do you want,
For that depends, we have
Long ones and short ones,
And fat ones and thin,
Where do you want me to begin?
We have Portuguese and Greek,
British, South African and German
I offered the last string
To someone unique,
Who wanted a tweak,
Asked if they were fresh and real,
She actually had a feel!
The German ones are spicy,
And the Portuguese pricey,
How much to you want to pay
Me today?
Edith replied, I have to say,
The decorative way
You hang your sausages
And mozzarella balls,
Make me giggle,
They must tickle
Your customer’s fancy,
What do you say Clancey?
Sausages remind me of days
In every year, three hundred
And sixty-five to be exact,
So comfortably compact,
One joined to the other,
Each one offering spice, color,
Taste and adventure,
They come and they go,
For everyone’s good cheer,
Which must be had every
Day of each year,
Life is but a dream,
Over in the wink of an eye,
Now Clancey,
With which sausage are you going
To tantalize me with, my dear?

Explanation
Joseph Beuys is a controversial artist, one of his
works is called 'food for thought'. I saw this at
the museum of psychiatry when I guided some folks;
theme of the exposition was "lost in memory".
Next to the museum is the garden where 3 of my
sculptural works can be visited. We did so.

Its basic ingredients are noodles and cheese.
This dish has been around for centuries.
The origin of lasagna is a mystery.
Most culinary experts credit Italy.
In just about any region where you go,
each place has their own version to show.
It comes hot out of the oven covered with mozzarella.
Within the layers are meat and ricotta.
There are vegetarian versions as well.
For lunch or dinner, isn’t lasagna swell?
