Peace of Cheese

Can you forget that piece of cheese
that you inhaled? Oh, just a crumb it was.
But breathing while chewing, then choking!
Was it Cheddar, Cheshire?

Or that Limburger, Parmesan?
But, oh, that piece of cheese!
Not a morsel you'll forget,
or a temporary amnesia that will bring you peace.

A double Gloucester, some feta or mozzarella?
What about that Parmigiana-Reggiano?
Better, far better, not to inhale
a piece of cheese. It's peace you need.

A clever poem, fun to read and your lines flowed so smoothly throughout... By the way, I'm from Wisconsin, so I know a little about cheese and love it as much as you do :)

Ah, yes, I can tell a good choke now and then. Thanks, Kelly.

Ah im never a fan of cheese but your poem here shows you know cheese very well and you’ve delivered it in a very lighthearted manner that readers would truly appreciate. Pleasure reading your work

Many thanks, IE. I may have a chew on Cheddar. At least it's simple and traditional.
