Best Monetary Value Poems
where crystals gleam
i want to lie
where the scented lily opens
reveals its stamen
tender as babies breath
as unavoidable as our sun's and moon's provocative union
as desirable as a cooling whisper on a hot humid day
as necessary as the blistering heat
a dream yet to be dreamt
in my wanting
an explosion
an us reality
you are the joy of laughter
boxed, wrapped, gifted
all the gems of no monetary value - priceless
moments absorbed fully
womanhood sings
and i respond in kind
climb beyond frozen minds
where pianos open
radiate warmth
cradle purity
my will nestled in the notes
where crystals gleam
i want to lie

Putting on my rings
my hand reached past the one
I was looking for to the ones
Pillowed softly in the back
I gently touched them
Then without emotion take them out
And slipped them on my finger
Memories went through my mind
Like a silent movie
The delight I had when you gave them to me
How hard I tried to think of every reason
to use my hands and show them off
The way I would twist them when I was nervous
The white band they made with a summer tan
And the day I took them off
I promised you forever
but I stole my promise back
somewhere in all those years
of pretending to be happy
My heart rusted from neglect
I determined that a person that enjoys his own misery
Learns to resent rainbows
Lonelier with you than I ever was alone
I selfishly chose my own happiness
and finally I have given up the guilt of
not being able to 'fix' it
What do you do with old wedding rings
Are they demoted to whatever monetary value
They may have
Are they tucked forever away
with the baby teeth and first shoes
Does the preciousness of the love they once
Symbolized have any value
Without emotion I pillowed them back into
The softness and closed the box
Possibly you broke some promises too

how much is it worth to you to feel safe and secure?
how much would you spend? how much could you afford?
what is the monetary value that you would place on your life?
how much money would it take? how much would you sacrifice?
what price safety? what would be the cost?
what price safety? what would you spend to prevent the loss?
too frightened to get on the elevator in the building where you reside
don't know if you'll make it to your door before a thief is at your side
too scared to walk to your car alone in a public parking lot
don't know if you'll get the keys in the door before you're assaulted or shot
what price safety? how much money would you spend
just to have that feeling of security once again?
most every elected official in most every country in this world
have their own taxpayer funded security detail
the celebrities, movie stars and TV personalities
have personal body guards and/ or private security
America has been on heightened alert since the Twin Towers did fall
the airports, the borders and Homeland Security are constantly on the ball
security has become one of the nation's fastest growing industries
and you can't go anywhere in this world without showing identity
so how much would you spend to remove from your life that spirit of fear?
how many dollars would it take to protect what you hold dear?
there're not enough police to go around to be in society's face
so security officers take up the slack and stand in their place
we've become the front line defenders that the community sees
to detect, protect and defend them and their property
retailers spend thousands of dollars just to secure their goods
from thieves, boosters, shoplifters and your garden variety hoods
the government be it federal, county, city or state
use security officers to keep the peace in abate
yet without benefit of weapons, no batons, no vests or guns
we hold to our positions and we get the job done
we alert the police, FDNY and the EMTs
at the first signs of violence, fire and any emergency
but we're at a disadvantage when it comes to getting paid
for we barely make what would be considered a livable wage
what price safety? what would it be worth to you
to give security officers what they are due?
what price safety? I ask you once more
what price would you pay just to feel secure?
WHAT PRICE SAFETY?

Dramatic Monologue
it's the simplest thing we can do
that we don't find it the hardest
life has become a survival yet God never planned it that way
we call on his name all in vain for we only fear those who can fire us
true woship among belivers has been replaced with love for money and power in the church
the family unit established by God in the garden of Eden has been threatened by the rampant divorce and marriage separations among believers
the power to preach the truth and to receive spiritual guidance has been given monetary value
we no longer fear the giver of life but fear things created by God
we are afraid of loosing class and influence as that would make us seem weak
we are all competing just to educate our children yet we fail to teach them love, trust and patience
we are the modern day believers of Christ yet we are responsible for snatching and destroying other people's marriage
behind bars of alcohol and the bars of justice majority in there are born again Christians..
why because after children are born they only hear the word of God on Sunday yet the family is the basic primary church
we love those with money power and despise the poor for they cannot buy us'love'
Dear God have mercy on us for we love public praise rather than submitting to your will
we seek peace from God through phones yet God's word is now written in our hearts
we steal the young girls virginity just to satisfy our sexual lust
majority of our problems today are as a result of our lustful style of living..
many also are dead because of lust, envy and too much earthly pleasures forgetting God Almighty
no money can buy us freedom or peace
if love is not in you, you cannot offer it but hate and lust
if peace and patience are not your virtuals how can you then invest in time or talk about Faith and trust in God
Love God as He deserves and treat others as you would like to be treated for
what goes around will come back the same way

More Precious Than Gold
The Bible calls our faith in God as
more precious than gold
yet how can you put a monetary value on living for an eternity
with Him where you will never grow old?
For just to wake up in His presence and to know that He is always
so near has more value than a human tongue can speak
and being touched by His Spirit makes you feel more than alive
and at our best described as being on a mountain peak.
Over the years that I’ve walked with Him
and the trials and tribulations He has brought me through
one can only say, it must have been God that helped her
with the things that she has had to do.
Divorce and sorrow, sickness and pain
a child of God seems not to have been spared
yet I know Who holds my life in the palm of His hand
and I’ve known more and more He truly does care.
As time has gone by, my faith has grown in Him
a Righteous, Holy, Loving Father for that is what He has been to me
when I was young in His Spirit my earlier misconceptions had
blinded my eyes towards Him not being able of His love to see.
As a baby in Christ I stumbled a lot
and more than once fell upon my face
but, my faith has grown as I’ve learned
to trust more in His awesome grace.
And drawing closer to my twilight years where
at last His face I will finally see
I’ll say thank You, Papa Lord for being so patient and gentle
with a child such as me

How do you put
a monetary value
on your health?
If you don't
feel right
you can't enjoy life
Even the simplest
health issues
can cause
you pain,
make existence miserable.
If you
have your health
you are wealthy
beyond imagination
So be thankful
for the simple things
Live to the fullest
enjoying all the moments
that are
gifted to you
while you bathe
in the
glow of fortune.

At my birth, something happened up there...
into the wondrous constellations,
God Himself made them shine brighter
for this new born trascending life
into a destiny of greatness;
and my grateful smile deepened His delight!
Astrologers study the heavenly bodies:
stars, planets and the wondrous constellations
to predict the events of an individual's destiny...
from an ordinary one...to the most extraordinary;
fame is measured by a monetary value,
but greatness is a spirituality laid open to view!
Nowdays simplicity is looked upon with suspicion,
it seems a bit too spontaneous and impractical;
the modernist confounds it and confronts it,
treating it like an incurable disease of the outcast,
but no great man has ever been
ashamed of expressing it and propagating it!
We are building monuments of wonders,
and go far into the boundless Universe...
instead of undoing pain and disharmony,
curing the plagues that inflict this Humanity;
our society is too proud and arrogant...
nothing frightens us, and we still remain defiant!
If your fate favors you over the others,
who only can wish for such glorious moments
consumed in prosperity and greatness;
start cultivating the seeds of wisdom,
seeking out those truest friends living on the Earth...
to admire and share the wondrous constellations above!

I remember love
I remember when stargazing existed in a partner’s eyes
I remember when we used to laugh and cry in each other’s presence
I remember when the world belonged to us and the only opinions that mattered were our own.
I remember holding hands in the street and kissing in public
and cold nights at a street corner with my girl wearing my jacket
I remember love in its truest forms
Not the love of nowadays
Not the love that’s reliant on monetary value
Not the love that’s all about the physical
Not the love that’s depended on alcohol, weed and couple cuteness
and definitely not the love created to impress and grow a social media following
I remember love in its truest forms
And I miss it.
I miss waking up with the thought of someone and a smile on my lips
I miss looking into a woman’s eyes in the morning and knowing without a doubt that she is mine alone.
I miss taking long walks with no destination in mind just to spend time together
I miss having valentines’ picnics in the garage or behind the house sharing love in the only proper way
Two ppl locked away from the rest in their own little world
I miss seeing the future and not being lonely in advance.
I remember love....
I remember it in its truest forms....
And I miss it.

Dramatic Verse
you cannot calculate my legacy in monetary value
or in market shares
neither in some property
nor anything tangible
I leave you my soul
recorded in poetry
and thoughts
I share
with those of you with an ear for the essence of me
but unlike Keats not have my name written in water

Poeta nascitur non fit.
Not everyone can hear the words
Bringing forth the beauty in life and meaning
Giving value to substance
Each story a new beginning, a new ending.
Poeta nascitur non fit.
The soul of love will cherish nature
Seeing the scintillation from within the waterfall
Give the will of hope unto anothers broken heart
And will give voice unto the emotion of a tear drop.
Poeta nascitur non fit.
A poet will not rise from the enrichment of monetary value
That would be absurd, an unnatural juxtaposition
A poet will not spring forth from strife nor human deficiency
Poetry does not stem from a mere saddened emotion.
Poeta nascitur non fit.
Poetry is in the soul and blossoms forthright
A poet sees life in its truest reality
The poet can see though the stench of government
And the conformity of all society.
Poeta nascitur non fit.
A rose not from a seed is a mere impression of affection
Much as, a poet learned can write the script
Yet only from the seed can truest love be known
Poeta nascitur non fit.

Narrative
This world we have created-
neatly sown earth ripe for the planting.
This world had been perfect-
silent creeks and boisterous waterfalls.
This land that was once Mother Nature's-
destroyed for some superfluous coffee shop
where liars and womanizers lay in wait.
These words from our mouths-
are a right given to us by "Law;"
are they not going to be spoken without such written privilege?
False worshippers-
i speak not of a religion, but of the followers.
hoping living in the shadow of their God is a ticket to life after death.
This world we have created-
it saddens me.
These lives we now lead-
frivolous and jocund.
Greed-
it runs our lives now.
Monetary value is the way the world earns its keep.
A higher being or a mere fraction off a fraction of a chance has given us this Earth.
Someone gave us a mold, and we said "To Hell with it!"
They won't even own up to the actions they've taken.
Neither will I.
A white sheep in a herd of white sheep.
Who am I to call out a mistake?
This world we have created-
it saddens me so;
but if one should ask if i've taken affirmative action,
the answer shall be "No."

Free verse
We are trapped, captured and endagered. We are victimized by the very hopes and dreams that we hold dear to our hearts. We are the forgotten songs whose melodies are still sung in a desprate attempt to cling tenaciously to what they know is real.
We are the silent whispers behind those screaming roars of power that forgot who put them there. We are the pounds that pump blood into a nation that has discarded the very source of its life. We are the echoes of those last breath's that called out to freedom as though they had known how she felt like.
We are those banned freedom songs that still have meaning. We are those blind men that stand on street coners hoping to get change from your pockets to create change in our lives. We are the soul of this nation whose ticking heart is a reminder of our failures and a realisation that we are still one day from paradise.
We are the great minds that have no peace because our greatness has no visual monetary value and we know first hand that Hell is closer than our nieghbour.
We are the missunderstood believer's that see heaven as a good meal and a warm bed every night because our daily lives lack that meaning.
We are " the poeple" whose worth is best known in election time. We are the those in need of a friendly face and a genuine smile a helping hand without motive or intent.
We are none other than the very people you pass by everyday and if one day your eyes become one and you truly begin to see then you will fully realise that WE ARE NONE OTHER THAN YOU
