I Remember Love

I remember love I remember when stargazing existed in a partner’s eyes I remember when we used to laugh and cry in each other’s presence I remember when the world belonged to us and the only opinions that mattered were our own. I remember holding hands in the street and kissing in public and cold nights at a street corner with my girl wearing my jacket I remember love in its truest forms Not the love of nowadays Not the love that’s reliant on monetary value Not the love that’s all about the physical Not the love that’s depended on alcohol, weed and couple cuteness and definitely not the love created to impress and grow a social media following I remember love in its truest forms And I miss it. I miss waking up with the thought of someone and a smile on my lips I miss looking into a woman’s eyes in the morning and knowing without a doubt that she is mine alone. I miss taking long walks with no destination in mind just to spend time together I miss having valentines’ picnics in the garage or behind the house sharing love in the only proper way Two ppl locked away from the rest in their own little world I miss seeing the future and not being lonely in advance. I remember love.... I remember it in its truest forms.... And I miss it.
