Best Mistakes Poems

Mistakes will sometimes appear on signs
It's best to read between the lines
 While driving down the road
You may see a sign that says "your car will be toad"
 That one's quite a croaker!

You might see a sign in a car lot
That seems to miss the spot
It may give you reason to pause
Because it says, "We bye used cars"
Wave bye bye to your sales!

A motel sign adverstising its free internet
Has something extra you may get
Instead of free Wifi without strife
 It offers you "Free wife"
Say I do to that one!

This one will put a smile on your face
Because it reads, "This is a work free drug place"
I guess the employees are getting by
With smoking weed and getting high
It might be a high paying job at that!

Premium Member Mistakes Are Lessons

"A person who never made a mistake;
never tried anything new." Albert Einstein

This poet girl,
wrote in crayon, then gave pens a whirl;
I made mistakes- lots of spelling errors,
being told gave me terrors.
But, I was just a little girl with stories to tell,
so grandma gave me a dictionary to help me spell;
yet in bad grammar I seemed to dwell,
and still words I would unfurl.

I love writing,
to me a struggle worth fighting;
many said you have no talent- just stop,
not listening I let my words drop.
And drop they did- for failure is a word not a tattoo,
I wrote poems and poems and set them free into the blue;
and in time my style and talent grew,
mistakes are lessons exciting.

Yes, I prevail,
a warrior who sometime will fail;
did I misunderstand or misinterpret those words,
oh, were they meant to break my heart to shards.
For with words there is a power,
and that strength can lead to disaster;
but no matter- I now forget faster,
and my words set sail.

"No surrender, No yielding, No giving up!"

Premium Member Prepared To Make Mistakes

We all have our views on the subject. A military officer
on hearing I was pregnant asked me to consider having
an abortion. I know a young woman, the doctors told
her mom, that with her condition, she needed to be aborted.
She was not and is perfect with a beautiful family.

PREPARED TO MAKE MISTAKES

You saw baby bouncing on your knee
and the gifts the neighbors bring.
Blue and pink were twins,
the sparkle in your eyes
at graduation
and surprise they were there for you
at your end of days.
You smiled
as each smoothed your hair,
kissed you on the cheek.
You’d surely die
then think,
regretting dying before you drink
of their beauty,
as they wait in utero
dreaming of a mom
who’d care for them
   as she discusses their fate
with a stethoscope clad
impartial lad,
who has no stake,
who’s prepared
to make mistakes
blue and pink balloons
could pop
on a pin drop,
with no bounce,
no degree,
added to a pile of debris.

Premium Member Mistakes - Am I a Fake

What to look for?
Where do errors lie?
Are they in the eye of the beholder
or do they lie?

I believe I’m a poet,
a prophet of paraphrase,
a swindler of alliteration,
the rhyme above all reason.

I think I know!
Am I who I think I am?
A big fat ham.

My eyes wander -
cross-eyed thinkers,
blinking s.o.s.

How Do I Overcome Success
 I
   Mean
             Mistakes

As big as a lobster-steak!

Have a stake in me.
Teach me your tricks.
Throw the stick —
I’ll chase it,
Bring it back and wag my tail,
With openness to learn.

Burn my bridges
— not!

Great Scott,
reel me in with a fishing rod —
take the hook from my mouth.
Throw me back in.

O Genie,
make me like Aladdin —
rich in words, like a Princ(ess).

Reveal that I am a fake,
so I humbly shake
the magic from my frame,

and become who I really am.

Mistakes and Regrets

some days i wish upon a star,
that you'd come back one day.
you took my heart and shattered it,
and you took my life away.

i thought we'd be together forever,
but that didn't last very long.
the last thing that you said to me was goodbye,
and i said so long.

i love you more than anything,
you don't even understand.
no one can ever love you,
or miss you as much as i can.

if you really loved me,
then you would've stayed.
i regret all the stuff i did with you,
because they're all mistakes i made.

Ballad of Wasted Years

I have sang with Tennessee the song of the south,
I have kissed many tender lips with my crimson
mouth.
I have been with Politicians to the mountain top,
I have crossed without doubt the red gates that writ
in it, "STOP".
I have danced with a cotton dress that danced in
the wind,
And cheated on my wife and told my conscience,
"Never mind".
I married two wives just to see if the love was the
same,
I have covered with filth and fame my precious
name.

Listen to he that sits down to write who has stood
up to live
Than he who writes but his heartfelt shot didn't
give.
Is wisdom found not amongst the experienced and
aged?
Really what shore can you learn from a bird that's
caged?

I have made mistakes and lived my wasted years,
But this I learned, that wisdom and knowledge do
not dwell on a table of fears.

Seeing the Mistakes You'Ve Made

Finding your way out of places... You never meant to go... No...
You never meant to choose that path... Eventually...
Opening your eyes... Seeing the mistakes you have made...
And realizing... The pain... When you find the things you have...
And given up... The things you have destroyed...
and the things you just let die... It is impossible to fathom...
The devastations you feel... Sadly...
The agony of realizing your own needs...
Of how you just try to Self-Destruct!

Sweet Mistakes

SWEET MISTAKES

i sit here and think

of all i've done wrong

the whispering remnents

of a long ago song

while tragic decissions have created the past

the character built lays new path

without mistakes, goals can't be reached

if the the world was perfect

there'd be nothing to teach.

we'd never explore our souls and our minds,

never know strengths that are built over time.

the wonder and awe that we see all around, without essence and knowledge

would shrival and drown

love and contentment could never be felt

by a heart, that has never, disapointment been dealt.

mistakes may seem bad,

like the end of the world

but without them our souls

would never grow and unfurl.

Walls soft as the sky,
scatter courage, let it fall,
mistakes are doorways
sprinkle laughter through the air,
hearts grow wide and curious.

Mistakes

Oh what a mistake I have made,
Traveled so far to end up this way.
Not in a million years would I have guessed,
That this idea was truly not one of my best.
Never had known things had changed so much,
We for sure had fallen so far out of touch.
  So many different do's , don't , and bewares,
Actually has left me absolutely scared.
What a fool I was to ever believe,
That she would ever be in love with me.
At my age you would think I know better,
You can trust this will be remembered forever.
Oh what a terrible mistake I have made,
Wanting all these memories to just fade away.

Looking back,
my mistakes,
if such they were,
were of omission
rather than commission.
My caution
and lack of nerve
leaving me
with naught but
a basket full of
might have beens.

Which is why
I must now,
seize this day
with you.

Premium Member Celebrate Your Mistakes

Are you anxious in making mistakes?
Do you feel terrible when you do?
Mistakes are simply outcomes we did not expect and can lead
to growth.

Start by admitting your mistakes
You can only learn from a mistake if you admit you made one
As you start blaming other people
You miss out any possible lesson

Admit error—even if it is only for yourself—takes the focus from assigning blame
Moves you toward understanding

Enlist help
Join or sign up
Talking to someone else about what happened gives you the benefit of your friend’s experience
He or she may have made similar mistake or know how to deal with it
In addition
Describing the event forces you to think it through
May even help you see opportunities you didn’t know were there

Decide to change.
Ask “What will I do better next time”
Real growth or development and change happen when you see improvement
Then commit in making necessary changes to avoid the mistake in the
future

Benefit from mistakes
The most important lesson to remember
If you learn from the current mistake
You may be able to avoid a future one
Making a mistake does not make you a mistake
Remember Eternal God is the only one you know who does not make them

Mistakes

Looking across the dark night, I try , to know my mistakes,
To know why I'm here ,to know why my life shakes.

Nothing seems to go right ,everything is still the same ,
yet in my foresight ,I tremble to smile again.

Lost count of the stars ,as well as the tears falling by,
singing to the tune of, lone birds in the sky.

All efforts seem to go in vain, as I cry and breakdown,
trying to search that hand to wipe my tears and frown.

Missing every past moment, of joy as well sorrow,
uncertainties hanging above, graving over my tomorrow .

Losing every hope I had ,I close my eyes in emptiness ,
listening to the empty silence ,tortured by loneliness.

I dream of the day, the day sun would rise,
make me feel good ,and my mistakes I may realize.
