"A person who never made a mistake;
never tried anything new." Albert Einstein

This poet girl,
wrote in crayon, then gave pens a whirl;
I made mistakes- lots of spelling errors,
being told gave me terrors.
But, I was just a little girl with stories to tell,
so grandma gave me a dictionary to help me spell;
yet in bad grammar I seemed to dwell,
and still words I would unfurl.
I love writing,
to me a struggle worth fighting;
many said you have no talent- just stop,
not listening I let my words drop.
And drop they did- for failure is a word not a tattoo,
I wrote poems and poems and set them free into the blue;
and in time my style and talent grew,
mistakes are lessons exciting.
Yes, I prevail,
a warrior who sometime will fail;
did I misunderstand or misinterpret those words,
oh, were they meant to break my heart to shards.
For with words there is a power,
and that strength can lead to disaster;
but no matter- I now forget faster,
and my words set sail.
"No surrender, No yielding, No giving up!"
