Reset Button

veins are craving
like my soul needs saving
my emotions got me caving
i just wanna be here waving

on a wave like no other
but please don’t tell my mother
I hide behind a cover
while her daughter sits and suffers

scared to call it an addiction
cause that’ll put me in a hard position
people will start giving me propositions
like my mind and self control will be in competition

I realize we all out here addicted our vices
all these different fixes be costing different prices
the days pass and my tolerance rises
chasing the high like I’m chasing grand prizes

a grand prize that’s just a temporary reward
one will last long just enough for my problems to be ignored
other ways to be feel better, but those that haven’t explored
need to press a reset button and get my
mind restored

get my head restored and revived
cause I feel my inner self has been deprived
been down for a while, but no choice but to survive
only going up from here , nothing else to do but thrive

thrive in a new direction
my flaws are to be corrected
impossible to be perfected
but In a place I can be tested

tested and improved
the toxicity removed
a better self who I approve
back to the grind & get in my groove.
