I surf through the silks
of his opium essence
swathed in moon-swept sparks
for this love stirs in silence
a verse sealed with fervent flares
Only Love of my Life
You asked me once if I love you
And is this love for you true
You had to know would it be forever
All these assurances just for you
So here is the way I feel about you
And this will hold true all your life
All that I am or ever hope to be
Is all wrapped up in one word…wife
I love you way past never my dear
It has been that way since we met
Don’t doubt what I say is true.
Loving me is nothing you’ll ever regret
I will stand by you tall and proud
You are loyal, loving, honest and true
I love you more every day we spend
Now you know how I feel about you.
And there are just a few more things to say
Sometimes you think I don’t see
The nice little things I know you do
And the best is what you do for me
You bring me coffee in the morning
When my mind is still half asleep
You talk about your day with me
What we share together runs very deep

I lost the love of my life today
I held her hand as she slipped away.
Although my heart wished she would stay
I told her to go, that I’d be ok
for her suffering was too much to bear
And to wish her here would not be fair.
I lost the love of my life today
I’m struggling hard to find my way
She was the one who held me strong
When life was tough and all went wrong.
She was the one whose strength I clung
She was the one my soul had sung
And now she’s gone and I’m on my own
And alls I hear is this endless drone
My mind is numb and my body weak
My soul it has no words to speak
I lost the love of my life today
I Don’t even have the strength to pray
Except to say “dear God Oh WHY”
Why in the world did she have to die?
To feel the touch of love from you,
My heart rings out so clear;
A song with passions sung anew,
In words I hope you hear.
The softness and the warmth I feel,
My soul in soft embrace;
To live a life in love so real,
No sense doth dare replace.
Forever may my hope abide,
In harmony so true;
To eternally in Love reside,
My Dear, My Wife with you.

Marriage is not always pure bliss

We love to take long drives and try to find treasures
In antiquing, nature or enjoying culinary pleasures
I like to walk and exercise most every day
While you continue to avoid it in every way
I like things to be neat and in order
While you’re a pack rat and a slight hoarder
I like to read, write poems and create
While you like to fix, build and renovate
You like Harry Potter and I like anything mystery
I like current stories, and you prefer history
We both enjoy the local news and Netflix series
And enjoy haunted stories and with all the queries
I knew I found in you my soulmate and best friend
And blessed to have you in my life until the very end

When I met you, I never expected
to fall in love...
But since then, every day I thank my lucky stars above.
When I met you, I truly had no idea
How much my life was about to be changed...
But to be honest with you, how could I have known?
A love like ours happens only once in a lifetime
And babe, you were truly a miracle to me,
The one who was everything I had ever, ever
dreamed of,
The one that I thought existed only in my dreams.
And when you came into my life,
I suddenly realized that what I had always thought
Was happiness could not compare to the
true joy
Loving you brought me.
Baby, you are a part of everything
I think and do and feel,
And with you by my side,
I truly believe that anything is possible.
I ponder these things transpired in my life
Us crossing paths, you becoming my wife
Affections so strong etch deep in my soul

The children, the stress, no getting you down
Those full, supple lips show rarely a frown
Near thirty-five years since we said our vows
Intimate moods you're still able to rouse
More than double our age since we first met
How you change my life I'll never regret
My darling, my bride, so much that you gave
A lifetime of love we'll take to the grave
When the sun hits your eyes
They appear as stars in mine
Or as endless pools I'd be willing to drown in
The moon can only yearn for your beauty
Just as I do every moment I'm without you
When I see your smile
Even in the most somber of times
I can't help but feel my own return
As if seeing your joy inspires it in others
The warmth that follows you into every room
I'd almost be envious if it wasn't my favourite feeling
I feel the need to thank whatever creator there may be
For granting me the wish of a star like you
The love of my life died on New Years Day
Nineteen ninety-nine, my world was betrayed
Part of me died with her
To this day I still miss her
Will love that sweet lady till I too pass away

Towards the heavens of the existing
long we beheld
the fleeting idea
which ravishes the immense beauty
to the dream
but it was only out to sea
of your appearing
she made herself
tangible, to the real,
and boundless
In all my life I never thought,
I’d find a love like yours;
A love that leaves me breathless,
That leaves me wanting more;
You are everything I ever wanted,
Your perfect in my eyes;
And the overwhelming love I feel,
Sure took me by surprise;
You’ve filled the hole inside my heart,
With your unending love;
You’ve made my life complete,
Gave more than I ever dreamed of;
And I want you to know you’re everything,
In this life you’ve given me;
And I’m happier now than I ever was,
Or ever thought I would be.

Those captured by You, smell like myrrh and You.
I would call You, Sampson, but Your hair is more like wool
There You stood, clad in light colored hand woven garments.
I could see why women would await Your presence
Your yes is yes, and Your no, is no.
You're known to take Your women from rags to riches
Your servants know You calm contentious spirits.
One woman sat strumming on her polished guitar
Another with tapestry, was content You were near.
Other women waited your arrival with glee
They had already rested their case with Thee.
I wanted to be a part of Your crowded caravan
But it wasn't up to me; Your eyes took soul searching stance.
I could feel it in my spirit you agreed
Those untamed parts of me, were Yours to tame.

Your heart belongs to another, but how can i stay silent.
There is no dance in my heart, when these eyes betray me.
You know by now, I was born to love you,
and you were born to me mine, but I wait decades.
Don't worry my sweet friend, I will always love you
and I will die crying your name, remember my silence.
When I leave, stare at the stone with my name,
all I ask is for a kiss each time you visit,
because in my life, you did not present me with one.
