Best Life Long Friend Poems
Dear sweet lover
I'm yours to the end
More than a lover
An life long friend
Morns when I wake
To your cheery hello
All's well with the world
I feel all aglow
Why am I blessed
With a love so immense
Love without boundaries
A feeling so intense
The cynics will scoff
Say I'm living a dream
It's not real life
My feelings too extreme
I say to these doubters
Trust in your heart
It's given life a meaning
Right from the start
It's really quite simple
Just trust in your soul
Let passions guide you
And go with the flow!
10 DOWNING STREET
Six years ago on 10 Downing Street,
Tourists by the score we did meet,
Fascinated by the pomp and splendor
England’s Political leader, in his famous home,
Safe from the crowds, having tea
A discreet meeting at
This Historical house,
Trumpets, guards, I didn’t care
About a sign that said “Beware,
Horses may kick or bite”,
I stroked his nose in spite,
Of the sign,
This horse was adorable, a fine
Regal animal who sniffed my hand,
I felt honored, so grand,
Not about the goings on around me,
But that the horse and I connected,
I immediately loved him, infatuated!
Thank You said the sign at the end,
All I knew I found a life long friend.
I have never forgotten that horse
I let love take it’s sad course,
And had to say goodbye,
But she maybe he and I,
Would remember
That day in September,
Where among the pomp and splendor,
A horse and human secretly bonded,
Despite a sign, written boldly, a warning,
Not to go near,
But I showed no fear,
The absolute highlight of our holiday,
Despite a slight drizzle and a grey
Sky it was my
Moment, my horse!
Small and mighty,little and proud
One of the weeniest doggies around
but don't let size fool you, you're in for a treat
I am one of the bravest and loyalest you'll meet
The comical clown who just loves to play
I'll take no time to train if you show me the way
I'll play with your slippers, and sleep on your bed
and then when you're sleeping, lick your face, neck and head.
some say I am yappy but i swear its all rumors
My sharp high-pitched bark is just meant for intruders
I'll roll on my back and let you rub my tummy
I'll do anything for a small treat, if its yummy
potty training can take a while they say
but remember that Rome wasn't built in a day.
oh and dogs can be gassy so please beg my pardon
and I may dig the occasional hole in the garden
But if you're looking to take on a new life long friend
and you promise to care for me right to the end
you don't need to search far or start looking around
choose the 'doxie', the dachshund, the 'sausage dog' hound!
LOVE is ?
Is love, an essence, of flesh and skin
or a scent that's emitted, from within
Is it an impression, created by the heart
or a design, to be viewed, as abstract art
Is it something within all humans grasp
or a mental image, felt when people gasp
Is it's existence real, or just imaginary truth
an artificial attraction, held from our youth
Is it an inevitable desire, that embarrasses all
or a treasured goal, of kinship as we sprawl
Desire, Passion, Marriage, lessen loneliness within
but, affection lost, leaves you in a loveless skin
Is it a fleeting feeling, that wasn't meant to hold
or nurtured attraction, the oneness, as I'm told
Lust, Enthusiasm, Devotion, of intimacy with one
or hope of a life long friend, to share earths sun
a confession of confusion or a happiness unknown
feeling completed by Cupid's arrow when your alone
An intense, deep explosion, of your lust and desire
or that soothing relaxation, that's felt after the fire
Told long ago "It's what make the world go round"
Keep stoking that fire, till that arrow is downed
Bewildering frustration
Adoration
Admiration,
For a life-long friend
Gone:
Leaving
Desolation.
You left in a hurry,
So much left undone
But you could not run.
Darkness left its claw,
On you a sister, daughter and friend we all adore,
A beautiful person, outside and in
Our Heroine:
No tenebrous arm
Will do you harm
Forever we appreciate
Your wit and humour resonate,
Your honesty and kindness magnified
Glamour and Style - so dignified.
Vibrant and
Raw
Your warmth will last for evermore.
A unique star,
A ray of inspiration,
Guiding us through our devastation.
Your patience and humility will never cease
Dear Claire please Rest in Peace.
Gun fire all around, bombs going off in the distance
It was some of the angry mobs and resistance
Father was the king of SafeHaven a small kingdom
Like all other kingdoms it fell in random
Fire started in the castle
And along with it came a battle
It was a distance memory now because the child has now grew
Many things in this child that made memories stew
My name is Mastrey, a young orphan who was there that night
Mastrey saw her in the distance and her father and mother in his sight
Everyone was loud that night and made all the children hide
But that evening Mastrey saw her mother and father die
She ran into the bushes in such a fright
And evil doers were running around with flashlights
Mastrey remember it as he distracted them
Her eyes was so confused with problems
Mastrey new that it was because of what just occurred
His feelings of what those people did was not awkward
The distraction worked, he went back to were she was
Hiding and very scared she was, he asked her, can you trust me just because?
Her answer that night depended on her lively hood
As Mastrey was their with his hand reaching out to her as he stood
Pulling her up from the ground he looked into her eyes that were SeaBlue
Mastrey had made a life long friend and love, She knew it was true
Next: My Story Telling, Who is this Princess
When the passing touch of a life long friend
Becomes the caress of a new lover
The rules of engagement are rearranged
Who do you talk to about each other.
When problems arise and they surely will
And you are sleeping with your sounding board.
And she is the reason you need to talk
Do you wish things were like they were before.
You can turn around but you can't go back
You are up that creek without a paddle
Now it's all up to you to figure out
Was it worth that one night in the saddle.
And don't bother to try to justify
Or blame the booze or the moon in her hair.
You had known each other from childhood
So don't even think about going there.
Relationships are sometimes a struggle
And you may feel like your partners a pain
But now that you have told her you live her
You've got a little more skin in the game.
A life long friend,
A soul mate,
A heroine, a star
A woman so phenomenal,
The very best by far
I never thought I’d have to
Say these last goodbyes
So long and farewell my hero
A girls so strong and wise
These last few weeks of life
Since your diagnosis
Have been so tough, but you pulled through
So difficult to notice
One day we will meet again
And live our lives together
We’ll start a new life, you and me
And share one heart forever
A funny thing happened to me just the other day.
The friendliest cat came to my door wanting to play.
He was meowing like crazy, peering in through the screen,
As if calling to someone it’d been a while since he'd seen.
I said, “Well, hello little kitty. What is it you want?
I’ve never seen you before. Are you just out for a jaunt?”
He was an orange and white Tabby with a depth in his eyes.
Of all the cats I’ve known, he was the most lovable guy.
As I petted him gently, he met my every touch.
He loved all the attention and just couldn’t get enough.
I gave him some ham scraps and some water to drink.
He gobbled it all up; then was gone in a blink.
A few days went by when one night I couldn’t sleep.
I stepped outside beneath the lamppost on our street.
I looked up at the stars as I so often do,
And talked to God and loved ones who are up there, too.
I thought I’d sure like to see that cute, friendly cat.
And right at that moment, he appeared! Just like that!
He came out from underneath the cars in our drive,
And walked right to me. I couldn’t believe my eyes!
We were both so overjoyed as if long lost friends
Who were finally able to embrace once again.
He squirmed with such delight at my every stroke.
In his eyes, I saw my friend Teddy—that’s no joke.
You see, Teddy was my life-long friend who sadly died.
I miss him every day and often look for “a sign.”
I asked the cat, “Are you Teddy?” Our eyes locked in a gaze.
Just then, as if answering, he raised one paw to my face.
He reached up with his paw and gently touched my chin.
It gave me goosebumps because I just knew it was him!
In awe, it took me a few moments to take this all in.
Then, I said goodbye to my friend, "Hope to see you again."
The next morning in the yard he played wild and carefree.
He was running and jumping and climbing a tree.
That’s the last time I saw him—don't know where he could be,
Or whom he belongs to, but I sure wish it was me!
I wonder, was it Teddy visiting me as a cat?
Maybe, just maybe? I’d like to think it was fact.
I’d sure love to see "my old lovable new friend,"
But, seems he’s vanished—I haven't seen him since then.
If my friend ever does pay me a visit again,
I think I might keep him, if it is all right with him.
This can't be real, this isn't right
We cry all day, we cry all night
You'd say you've got to make it through this no matter what it takes.
I want to wake up and go back to a much better place.
I need to feel you've got my back
My big brother, what I'd do to go back.
To the days we used to laugh our hearts out, I've never laughed so hard with anyone so much.
The last day i saw you, you squeezed me so hard, I'll never forget the loud beat of your
big jolly heart.
I can't wake up, I can't go to sleep, I cry every night cause your memories i keep.
I read your words over and over that you wrote on those hard nights,
and I'll hold your advice in my head with my chin up,
for the rest of my long-lived life.
I think about you all the time, i feel you in this room.
I imagine what you'd say when I'm having a rough time
and i start to brighten up because of you..
I know you'd want whats best for me, your words were always true.
For you I'll try and be fine, I'll live my life in your name tatted up on my spine.
My backbone, you never let me down.
How could this be the end? we were the very best of friends.
We'd always say there is no end.
It's been a long five months. With you not being there to make me smile,
I wish i would have told you again, you were my life long friend.
How much i loved you, how much i prayed, how much i worried,
how much i would have gave.
This nightmare is haunting me, every breathe i take.
What a bond to break, what a life to take.
You had the purest heart and a laugh worth all the money in the world.
I cant bare the pain i feel, i cant handle the weight in my chest.
I'll remember you looking at me always saying what was best.
How could life take you away, who is it to decide?
What I'd do to see you happy again, you were always one of a kind.
You didn't deserve this time, you had so much passion in your life.
You were too bold to just be another. I'll always consider you my only big brother.
With all the love in the world like no other,
Your words, the memories, and your heart,
will live on forever.
On this day, a wee time ago_ after rough sails, you floated ashore. From life-giving waters, a brand-new soul_ for my eyes alone_ like unto one never-before. Bless my heart! Just look at that face_ round and chubby, beautifully graced in lace. Two sparkling eyes_ so full of surprise; Ten fluffy fingers, ten teeny toes. One binky-bitty button nose.
There is no other joy for me; not in this whole world, then my precious perfectly newborn_ baby girl! My very own someone to love and to care; to forever sail the seas within the life we share.
Welcome aboard my life-long friend! As I look upon her now as I remember her then. I still love every fuzzy hair on her chinny-chin-chin. Hawk-eyes cower o’er her year to year, be stills my heart upon ‘er smiles ear-to-ear. So much joy the day steady steps started walking, quickly turned exhausting ‘er munchkin mouth never stopped talking,
Wishful wondering perky eyes at learning to crawl_ sheer grit of the will-to-stand endures the pains of each fall. Loads of body aches whenever she was hurt or sad. Flash the shock of ‘er face the first time she got mean mad.
It seemed it took forever but you grew up fast. Tears come to eyes regretful of the time now past. Yet now you are all grown up and out on your own in the world. Just always remember you will forever be my precious perfectly newborn_ baby girl!

A sudden rush of blood
A sharp constriction of muscles
A quick twitch in my abdomen
A million droplets on my forehead
All indicating am not in the mood
But my mind chooses to push on
A shy escapes my lungs
My mind goes blank
Words escape my lips
My muscles go limp
My legs almost giving away
Yet I was moving and was getting closer
A smooth cough escapes my dry mouth
She looks up and my eyes shyly wonder away
My mouth mumbles something softly
Her gentle reply brings me back to reality
I had moved this far;so I realized
And i knew there was no way back
I have finally made the move
Here i was fidgeting for the words
looking for the romantic phrases i had prepared
Hard I labored but none came out
Stammering a few unromantic words
She stops and listens
Finally I have made a life long friend
Remember....
I never knew what friendship was, 'til I look'd upon my past;
I thought of all those i'd known before, and it came to me at last;
Friendship is what, we once shared, once upon many years ago,
an unbreakable bond between two silly kids,
most, in a lifetime could never know;
Life must have had it's reason, for our paths to cross, again,
especially after all these years,
reflecting upon our youthful past has brought my heart to tears,
All the daring things we did back then, some may wonder how we
made it through;
it was because we knew, we had each other, is my heartfelt point
of view;
It was you, my friend, who was there for me,
through the good times and the bad,
You saw me when, I was rarely happy,
and at my worst when I was sad,
Not sure if I ever thank'd you, for being there for me,
is why I write this down today, so that you'll know, and always see,
How much, if nothing, you influenced MY life,
and my heart you were able to touch;
No one knew more, about who I am,
I'd venture you know too much...
Please hold this when you're lonely, or question life at all,
You never have to go it alone,
remember me and call..
and if ever life should take us, on different paths again,
and it forces our lives apart,
NEVER question, my life long friend, where you belong,
Look no further than my heart.....
Best budds then, now and always....
In today’s society, as each man lives his life,
he is entitled by law to have only one wife.
The sweetest question to my future bride Stephanie
would be my own words, “Stephanie, will you marry me?”
Of course, she replied with a very elated “yes”.
She promised me to provide a life of happiness.
However, one problem showed from the euphoria.
This move would break the heart of her best friend Regina.
Although Regina wished us all the best with her heart,
Stephanie and I knew inside she was torn apart.
Although Regina was Stephanie’s best life-long friend,
Regina probably felt her world was at an end.
This made me feel some guilt with a bit of sympathy.
After all, through Regina, I first met Stephanie.
I came up with something that seemed satisfactory.
“We should set up Regina with a blind date some night.
I have a cousin named Joe that appears to be right.
In almost every way, my cousin Joe looks like me.
I’m sure Joe and Regina can both be quite happy.”
We had planned for the next weekend when those two should meet.
Over the phone, I described Regina as too sweet.
Joe was happy to hear, and could not wait for that night.
Everything seemed to be going as planned, and just right.
Regina arrived at my house on Saturday night.
She was dressed in silk with her appearance a delight.
Regina wanted to make a great first impression
This lady thought green was appealing for the session.
Joe was downstairs in the den watching television.
I called him up right after Regina’s arrival.
Joe’s looks impressed Regina. She rendered a big smile.
To Be Continued
Milly’s dive was dark and deliberate, also dangerously deep.
But she had to save the crescent moon, who had a soul to keep.
The moon was grateful and gave her six wishes to spend.
She used three of them for others and gave two more to a friend.
Are you keeping no wish for yourself? Asked the moon in surprise.
My wish is to get you back up there, in the beautiful night skies.
The crescent moon became a life long friend to this mystical friend.
The wishes he gives her now never expire, run out or end.
