Chef - Dad

If he were my Dad, he would be the best.
A distinguished Chef that taught me to cook.
An ever loving Heart, beats in his chest.
His spare time , he writes a Poetry book.
When its done; as a Poetry Family; We should all take a look.
.
I have a distinct advantage, in the Culinary Arts.
“Dad” was a self made Chef : Loved by Culinary : ALL.
You have an distinct advantage, with your Ever Loving Hearts.
We climb the stairs of Poetry; to the Poet Laureate’s Hall.
We spend half of Eternity, reading Poems upon the wall.

He's a teacher, a Chef, a poet; a husband that Loves his Wife.
Allthough she now lives in Heaven, as she has for forty years.
His heart has found someone new; that has given him new life.
Barbara Jean, whom I call Mom; has dried up past forlorn tears.
He is a man deeply in love with everyone he knows, he loves all his peers.

This is a Quintain I wrote for Francine Roberts Contest " English Quintain Contest
Dedicated to "Dad and Mom" Harry D. Johnson aka Harry, HG, Liege and Barbara Jean
Gorlick aka BG, Mom I wrote this Dec. 3 I added the third stanza today Dec. 14

Premium Member Four Hours of Eternity - 3

I woke to the sound of sizzling bacon, the aroma of fresh baked Muffins and my Beautiful Lenore in her bright green Teddy. "Nubbies", I said, "what time is it." Lenore said" for You it is 3:30P.M., June 27th, 2013. You are in the O.R. at Dartmouth Hospital. For me it is time to bring YOU to Eternity for a short time."What are You talking about; Baby." I died last night before we had time to go to the Bridal Suite. I do not want You to go through that pain again. Please come with me to the railing on the starboard side of the ship."Below the shuffle board deck?""Nubbies, just
trust me." As we walked outside, I noticed there was no air,no breeze, no sea lapping against the side of the boat, the sun seemed pasted in the sky. Where is Mom and Dad;where's my Ma, Where is everybody? Harry we are frozen in time, for last night and today; never happened for you. I asked the Lord to give us this time together. I was 3 months pregnant when I said "I DO" I want you to see JoAnne Naomi Grow up. Now
Full Moonlight Stand on the railing with me and when I say 3; Jump. 1, 2, 3. You would think we would plummet into the Caribbean Sea, but we splashed into the Full Moon. The sun was warm, the birds sat on my shoulders, singing a song of Life Forever. The Peace, Serenity and Tranquility was unearthly. I then saw GOD and the Son of Salvation hugged me and in a Mezmerizing Voice said Welcome Home.
                                   To be Continued
I want to apologize to those of YOU who are punctuationally bound to Poetry I do not know how to punctuate people talking. I know I'm suppose to use "" marks Sorry I LOVE YOU ALWAYS and FOREVER YOUR Liege...Harry

I am the Shell of a POET, Gazing upon my Last Sunset : Dancing with Death
The Shell of a POET, absorbed in Nature: inhaling whispers with my last breath
I cloak myself in HER Tapestry : Azure Blue painted Lovingly; with Life Rose Pink
I sleep in sweet hues of colors as the Serenity of Sunset draws me nigh; I Think
I see the Darkness envelope me as Venus "The Evening Star" Blinks a Loving Wink
As the cricket hums of Glory as a sky of ebony descends upon My Dark Memories
As the night becomes Alive the Reborn "Shell" Reads the History of his Destinies
Mesmerized by the Autroscities, by the pain and sorrows of Mankinds sordid Past
Tears of Humility flow the contours of my cheek as Autroscities of a distant Past
Immortalized by My Cold and Blacken Heart, Forgotten are the Memories of Lenore
I stand at the Pearly Gate in AWE of the Magesty of Eons of Eternity: FOREVERMORE
I grasp HIS Hand; Lenore Grippes Mine : We Entwine as ONE : Through Heaven's Door

The Daffodil, peeks at the yellow rays of the Morning Sun
She raises her head :through the withering snow mound : with Dazzling Beauty
The Daffodil , Sings in harmony; Arise for I am : the Spring
The Golden weed, the Dandelion , reflects the yellow Halo Floating in the Sky
Knowing Life is short ,the Dandelion dots the Summer landscape
With Her Halo turning White, She calls the Wind and flies through the rays of the Sun
Goldenrod waits until summer is nigh o’er before waving elegantly
To the Yellow orb, warming her roots, She melodiously Sings Forever be Your Glory
The Goldenrod , humbly Hums Hymns : to the very Eye of a Loving GOD
Yellow Roses speak of the Memories : “watching the grass “Sportsman’s WAVE””
She sees the Glory of Nature : more Beautiful with each Magnificent : Sunrise
Yellow Roses, petals so Silky Soft, holding in “ Remembrance “ a long Lost “ LOVE “
The “ AquaRose “ that Grows, in the deep Caribbean Sea “4 miles North of Aruba”
Screams For the Sun, from her watery Grave, Yet she shines in a sea of “ Sapphire

I had eight POETS honor me with my POEM "BrokenHeart"
But clumsy me, hit the wrong key and sent it of the chart

Then seven POETS chose my First POEM "The Aqua Rose"
Oh silly me, hits the wrong key; in cyber space it Grows

Six POETS chose my POEM "ALWAYS Together" as a Fave
I finally got the message, for this POEM, I DID save

My Liege

H.G. my liege, you lead the heed
Your heartfelt writing filled with need

To give voice to honest words
For thoughts to reach all free birds

Encouraging those whose passion burns
Experiences presented down winding turns

Vivid expressions easily painted
Seeing your dedication I almost fainted

H.G. my Liege, I dedicate to thee
Dedicated just for you, from me

Premium Member A Spring Day

Once the crimson eastern sky lost
That was the morning guiding star.
Lilac hobbit, Kismet Gem plains, and frost.
Cyan sea-painted eyes to rainbows dare.
Revived ecstasy and increased optimism
Sighing for you, my wingless moon vibe.
The breath of trees and bushes alike a prism,
sweeps away the glistening dew of the tribe.

Nature as whole bows before her might.
Alas, it brings harmony to the polar seasons.
Even when love fades, this rib cage lights.
Glowing alike rain all for the right reasons.
Cephalic rooms nourish hope tame sobbing.
and heals by humming the placid air.
Pastel lilac buds grow with ivory twigs trembling.
to sustain poise via a window-peeking stare.

Ductility, time, and youth view shadows pass.
Broken love's cocoon awakens at the prime dawn.
and stroll through woods, leaping over cut grass.
Pain larvae were spinning on the moon lawn.
Despite the song's silence... to bless this ritual.
Your heart begins to beat as the thorns bough.
Your soul prevails over the most spiritual.
I couldn't stop the peasant behind a plow.

Have a snout and wings alike a winged liege.
Awakened cosmic butterfly, a myth I love.
Aglow is an allusive, alluring antidote to besiege.
Awaken to the bliss of silence from above.
Bumblebees mood, pollinating in the haze,
wildflower with a fading lavender cloud
By night, savor the moon and the stars gaze.
As you float over the woods, learn to be proud.

Could YOUR Heart, hold all the TEARS; that Life has shed in LOVE
Would YOU Gallantly suffer, Sorrow, for the Memory of Eternal LOVE
Should YOU empty an Ocean of Tears to revive YOUR Everlasting LOVE
Does YOUR mind Reminisce, about the First Kiss, igniting the Flame of LOVE

Unmasked

Inside a boisterous tavern,
a-light with drunken gaiety
of spilled ribald laughter,
he quietly sits alone ...
gently cradling his mead darkly
Brooding thoughts of past paid coverings
buzzes inside his head
Talking flies having the faces of the dead
“Have mercy, please”
This haunting cry, they all pled ...
except the halo head ones
“I forgive you”
This they all compassionately say
in time dispersed unison
The self-muted giant rubs his eyes,
still in somber inner disquietude,
at this troubling sight he has seen several times
Witnessing a bright, shining glow,
which radiates all around the tops of those
who call themselves Christian disciples —
before descends the sharp, quieting blow
It is by his liege, Caesar’s command,
to eradicate the scattering vermin radicals,
that he daily swings the severing blade
The duty-bound Herodian executioner
must always stay masked
when the murdering performance ensues
This is by privileged decree:
the entertainment requirement rules
A black cloth covering,
sprinkled with scarlet droplets,
is the terror mask his masters has him use
Rabid crown sycophants love their crucifixions,
the Roman preferred method of capital punishment
But, his under-lord, Herod, still adheres
to the ancient Molech ways —
Death by the beheading blade
Sighing, the brooding giant gazes about the riotous inn
with roaring, unspoken disdain
Even without the ritual Deimos mask on,
all within the tavern knows his occupation,
evidenced by his massive frame
They yield a fearful wide berth to him,
no one sits in the seats around his hulking presence
Looking down at his Pilate-cursed hands,
he sees the blood of the guilty and the innocent
Bloody hands that can’t be washed clean ... never
As long as he raises his arms,
and lets the body-separating blade swing

Premium Member Living To Serve

Your Majesty, your meal is served.
May it fit your royal taste.
Only the best for you reserved,
Sweet milk with wine is laced.
Please make your judgment not in haste,
Dear Sir I plead with you.
This dish before you humbly placed,
I offer sav'ry stew.
.

Only the best you have deserved.
May it be not a waste.
You are so slim and nicely curved
It adds not to your waist.
Your fish well cooked with a nice baste
Fine flavors coming through.
In finest china it’s encased.
I offer sav'ry stew.

I’ve sought the best with zeal unswerved.
To markets I have raced.
Your every fancy I’ve observed
Ensuring fare be chaste.
For rarest dainties I have chased.
My liege deserves his due.
Delightful delicates I’ve traced.
I offer sav'ry stew.

For you my feline prince I’ve faced
More worries than you knew
That your fine taste be not debased.
I offer sav'ry stew.

When YOUR Heart and Soul are Wrapped in a Cocoon of LOVE
Where YOUR Mind is Absorbed , where YOU Live in Eternal LOVE
Why would YOU Live in a Life of Sorrow, if there is ETERNAL LOVE
How does one Believe they can Live in Forever, if they Never know LOVE
What is the Emotion, that brings YOUR Heart, YOUR very Entity to LOVE
Can LIFE , Every go on for the Eons of Eternity, if YOU know, not of LOVE
Does the Deep Feelings with-in the core of YOUR Being, Reflect YOUR LOVE
What Does one do , When their LOVE is Lost , When their LIFE is Through?

Torture

Whispers in my head I hear it all so clearly
Negativity in my brain bordering on weary
Enemy caught me when I was very weak
Tortured me for the treasure that they sought to seek
Vigil I remained though I admit that they were close
To destroying what I had that was saving me the most
Then I remember in that moment that I am stronger than I think
So I started focusing on the other side of the chain link
It keeps me strong it keeps me sane
It keeps me going it keeps me trained
And so the enemy caught me but I got out of their trap
Now I know where they're hiding I got them marked on my map
You'd think that I'd call out the troops and take them by seige
Arrest them detain them and make them my liege
Treat them like dirt torture and maim
Paybacks a and all for my pain
But thats not how I roll for if I did I'd be them
Blood on my hands brazen in sin.

Premium Member Dear Poetrysoup

Dear POETRYSOUP, Hope this finds YOU and YOURS Healthy and High in the Spirit. I am writing this on the Inspiration of Heather Ober's Contest "Love Letter". First off I want to Thank-YOU all for YOUR many Gracious Comments. They are appreciated and Inspirational. Some of YOU know about my strokes and the handicap they cause me, as far as writing any comments back to YOU. I am sorry.A few of YOU know about my stomach cancer, and how the doctors removed half of my stomach and replaced it with whatever they replace stomach lineing with. However that lining ripped and I go for surgery tomorrow. Here is my delima; After the recovery from the surgery they want me to move back to the apartment (they pay for) and leave my Cabin on the mountain for ever. I have a 24/7 nurse,(and my Spirit Nurse; Suzanne Delaney) his name is Nick and he said he would stay with me at the cabin (with a cut in pay). now I do not know why Nick is a Nurse and not a Doctor, he can do everything but surgery. sorry I am rambling.
YOU are probable saying to Yourselves "What has this got to do with LOVE? By my cabin I have a house, actually a Shrine : to my DEAREST Most Only Beloved LENORE : my
Wife. I have her POETRY, her Pictures and her Butterfly collection. I had the only thing left from Our Everlasting Day; Her Transparent White Wedding Vail, stolen 4 years ago in a break-in. So my ? to my Beloved Family : POETRYSOUP is :Should I go to the Apartment(across the street from hospital)or spend the next 6 moths to a year at the cabin where my True LOVE abides, with Doctor Nick. I LOVE YOU ALWAYS and FOREVER YOUR Loyal Liege...HGarvey Daniel Esquire Aka - Harry - HG

Perfectionism

Perfection, is an evil lord
demanding ever greater tribute,
it wields a sharp and heavy sword
that pierces deep to persecute

I fear this liege, this graven image
there's no resistance to his wants;
no will, nor the amount of courage
can protect me from his evil taunts

Forgiveness, I may grant to all,
no act's too grave or sin's too much
and yet, no matter however small,
I dare not grant myself as such

Idealized, I must not fail
this thought's so manifestly flawed;
and yet, it does but so assail
my heart, my mind... my God
