Her Lover

Moving quietly so not to wake her,
My lover half covered sighs like a purr,
We have had our pleasure
And now it's time for me to leave.
But the sight and smell causes me
A moment's thrill as I remember
our first kiss.
But I must leave, no time to dwell,
Thoughts of what could be,
Bow down to what life must be.
Without her my life is grey,
At home my other life awaits,
Here I am a lover,
At home I am needed -
but as a wife and mother.

Premium Member Tribute To Daniel

“In this life there’s been heartache and pain”
How could I begin to find love again
Desperado walking a tightrope
I looked down and Daniel gave me hope

“The first time ever I saw your face”
Cold heart melted, longed for your embrace
Your compassion and character shone
No longer could I live all alone

“You took my love and you took it down”
Felt lighter than air with feet on the ground
A love without chains, a soul unbound
But walls closed in as I watched you drown

"In a New York minute everything can change"
Sometimes life takes twists that seem strange
A human chain was formed to find my man
Reaching up was Daniel's lifeless hand

Efforts to save, resuscitate
Proved futile to fight the hands of fate
Casket sent home, called his folks to explain
“Daniel is traveling tonight on a plane”

The Rhythm of One

Love is not love if only in books and songs
In romantic movies and poems it belongs
It is life itself; an experience we share
A personal history of concern, commitment and care

Love is a voice that will soothe and caress
A heart that is uneasy, a mind in distress
It is a look that says, "I'm here, I know life isn't fair.
Pour out your troubles, I'll listen, I'll always be there."

Love is a smile, on both the lips and the eye
A suggestive twinkle and a warm good-bye
It is a message that needs no gesture or voice
Yet, in that twinkle it says, "In your company, I rejoice."

Love is the soft touch of one hand in the other
The gentle massage of one heart by another
That occurs when those fingers do gently squeeze
And say, "As long as we are together, life will be a breeze."

Love is not love if only in an expensive jewel or gift
Can it offer us comforts, our flagging spirits lift
Love is life itself, the acts that are done
When two hearts celebrate with the rhythm of one.

Tofino Moments

Tofino Moments

We walked for hours on the windswept beaches of Tofino
new beginnings…our dreams and toes mingling with sand centuries old
a magical sensation of fingertips touching fingertips…for the first time
a yearning to hold you closer...sharing a kiss as gentle as a baby’s belief
taking all of the strength that I have to simply let go of that moment
my inner soul wearing your shadow as if we were one
being here….side by side…just you and I … breath to breath
the lusty moon bids adieu as the morning tide fills the bay
I felt my heart pulled to you as if you were thirsty water

Moments caught in a life complex with the debris of other moments
all of which becoming suddenly meaningless…so easily left behind
their only purpose to bring us here….to now…do you feel our certainty
is this truly destiny entangling lovers by decree or perhaps default
the sound of your smile etching a sense of completeness
upon on the walls of my heart…for the first time in a long…long time..
the second I hold within my hands is all that I seek ..all that I want
with each wave I feel my very life flowing back into my veins
I loved you at hello…did you know that…it’s true…I loved you at hello

Waiting

On a day where
    the rain
  attacks the windshield
only to be brushed away
    like an ill-timed rebuke,
yet caresses my face
sweeping back my hair to unveil
the intensity of longing caused by you
do you think of me?

My entire being sings for you-
My life resonates in your echoes.
    I will wait for you...
will you ever come to me?

I dreamed last night of a kiss-
that you leaned down to me
and covered my mouth with yours,
    wholly bound to me
as if your tongue wrapped around mine
joined us more than in a marriage
    any lovers are.
Do you dream of me?

My entire being sings for you-
My life resonates in you echoes.
    I will wait for you...
will you ever come to me?

When I first said your name
it began to grow in me.
  On my breath
I hear the whisper of the words.
My heart beats to the rhythm
of the syllables immortally
    impressing themselves on my pulse-
  in my blood.
Do you long for me?

My entire being sings for you-
My life resonates in you echoes.
    I will wait for you...
will you ever come to me?

Yesterday is tomorrow’s today
In this game of life we play

In the game of life we chance
All we have on romance

Shake the dice then let them roll
Cross the bridge then pay the toll

Make a wish upon a star
Then let them see who you are

Open your heart and face the task
Open your soul and lose your mask

Let romance light the fire
That is forever fueled by desire

Let your words be honest and true
Be the things you say and do

And most of all for the one you love
Live your life for the Lord above

Through his love your romantic endeavor
Will be blessed and last forever

And that’s a true gift by the Lord above
For nothing is better than romantic love

Oh Love, Fair Love

It is but of your fire
That I whither to this pain
This lonely life of love bemired
This shouldered weight of blame

Oh love, fair love, return to me
The glory once inside
For if a chance there ever be
I accept and offer pride

Oh love, fair love, return to me
The dignity of self
For so it seems that in this dream
Beauty lies in stealth

Oh love, fair love, return to me
The rhythm of thy heart
A lonely beat is lost at sea
With a life torn apart

The mind has become a problem,
This ghost and goblin,
Throughout Love’s land!

The mind’s imagination,
Took over,
Love’s invitation,
By a tree of divided information!
It’s like, being love,
But having a relation,
With life and death information!

There was a tree of strife,
Placed in the midst of love’s life,
For purpose of decision,
That caused the house of division!

But a decision was given, to twiddle dee,
For love you see,
Is what the mind’s twiddle dee, be!
But he must see,
By experience, what is best to be,
For the sot has forgotten,
His beloved soul with his cotton,
Love’s seed of the begotten!

For, for the mind to be,
He must truly see,
The love he be!
For love already knows,
As the mind only blows,
What love’s life is yet to learn!
For love created the life,
That mind turned to strife!

With mind being only a part to life,
Let no man deceive you with vain words,
The old man needs a good purge,
Then his life would surge,
With a holy urge,
to be the love of his life,
Not a goblin of strife!

We are love,
From the inside,
What mind tries to hide,
On the outside!

God the I am is love,
From above,
The same as I am inside,
My, I am is love!
But what I be,
Sometimes is twiddle dee,
Of the mind on the outside,
The real me, I try to hid!
Like Adam and Eve,
With the fig leaves!

We must learn to confide,
On the inside,
By the outside,
To be the love that we are,
From the inside,
Outside!

Stepping From the Darkness of Alone

I must carry this torch down to the cave
To shed light upon the walls of my heart
For, if not, I will take it to my grave
And on that path may make an early start

I cannot think of love, when love is what
Consumes my every thought in every hour
I gambled all I have and took my shot
Chanced my wretched life to fate’s cruel power

But love is what I deeply need to give
My life is not my own unless it’s shared
This aching heart with which I have to live
Must find his mate if he’s to be repaired

But first I must let go the one I crave
And leave this burning torch within the cave ~

Romeo Improv Un-Recorded

Thou lay'st like a rose on deaths pillow
Silent and still, unsoothed by lifes request
Asleep the dawns and days of all and all
Eternity. My lovely Juliet
Wherefore art thou companions company?
Dost thou mockest life? "O my love, my wife!
Death, that hath suck'd the honey of thy breath
Hath had no power yet upon thy beauty"
Knows't not you of these intense tears that grow
Onto your soil a river of a kind
Thou body blooms, unscarr'd from cheek to bone
Thus trees and rivers art jealous of thine scent
But be it may thy mouth will ne'er move
Upon itself to echoe, Romeo!
Nay life will ne'er become a friend in hand
And I to life a friend, nay, I think not
The sun and moon shalln't make for watching eyes
To view me with life and not with thee, my love

Thyself I say art bandy with thyself
Yet man of all, I'm troubled at thy race
'Twas not the serpent that reward Eve bale?
And God created man, and bale is man
For in our families doth men collide
To often foredo every innocent thing
With swords where-in great morning and lights night
Tis fineless feuds our families perform
What bravery to birth our tragedy!
I balk that flesh is where abodements lay

O wife, I canst o'er-crow life in thine distance
May I afront death as thy hath approach'd?
Perchance I die with drink. Ay, there's the rub!
No time to fettle, ay, at once death come
Into my life as I drink thee in full
Slowly thy soul escapes. Thou art foredone
Soon to bewray thyself with waiting wife

No More Our Dance

Once we claimed it as our own, that lovely, special song;
No matter when, no matter where, we simply had to hear its sound.
Our hearts would melt, our love would rise, our feet would leave the ground;
But life goes on, your love has died; no longer, dear, do we belong.

That slow, slow dance, promising, ‘You Were Always On My Mind’;
You held me close and Willie’s words, your lips would lightly sing,
Softly, quietly, in my ear, your love vows whispering.
No longer now, your love has fled, your promise left behind.

So now it’s come, our dance is o’er; no more a life together;
Separate paths diverged before; one way I went, and you the other chose.
We waltzed apart, the music stopped, no more we hold the other close;
The storms of life, the silent songs, we simply could not weather.

Love Never Dies

What is life without love?
And love without loss
For what is lost is loved
And what is loved is alive in our hearts!
Sometimes with look at things so carelessly
Like the end is so near
Like all else doesn’t matter
And we’re left in despair
Like love is nothing but an action
Not really felt nor found,
But made and used…
For just fooling around
Like if I died today
And no one cried
Would that mean that no one loved me?
Because all eyes were dry
No! It means they still think of you
As if you were still alive
They will keep loving you!
Because in there hearts you survived!
Don’t take love so lightly
Care for those in need
Look at what’s around you
Give way for a good deed!
Make life worth living
Make way for happy thoughts
Set goals and ambitions
Die proudly knowing you fought….
Fought for what’s good
And worth living for
Because when the time comes
Those closest to you will walk out that door!
Just keep walking with heads held high
For in your hearts they’ll stay
Knowing that they inspired you
They made you into who you are today!

Flower of Spring

I see a life that has come from the heavens.
A life with the heart and soul of a goddess, squeezed in the body of a queen.
She walks amongst us.
Amongst dark, confused, vile two legged creatures.

In her lies the music of eternity, the conqueror of death.
Life and love storm in her blood, striking bolts of lightning to my heart.
The language of the blue fire flames from her voice
Burning the sound of beauty and serenity to my soul.

She is the flower that holds the magic of spring
Blooming once in a millenia.
Her petals of crystal reflect the colours of the rainbow
And releases the fragrance of the spirit of life's pureness
She blows a breeze from space to my soul.
In her I have seen the secret of life, love and eternity.

Two Trees

An affection grown from pubescent soil, watered with innocent infatuation
Leaves of dreams gently budding, off naïve branches of a youth shortened.

The roots, ventricles of a choice-less heart, her fate twisted by a mothers hate.
No stopping nature’s fruition, and now the growth, the change, will not abate.

Her spring leaves, open and green, stretch brilliantly to reach the sunlight.
Her roots of youth still soft and warm, her sun remains golden and bright.

But his roots go far deeper than hers, once green leaves are already changing.
Growing stiff with age, as they reach deep into a sky that is steadily graying.

The years between them, once not so many, now shade her with their height.
She can’t stop the cold fear of abandonment, someday being left in his night.

Her heart wanders over the fruit, so delicately hanging off her branches.
Who will pick them up when they fall, when he is no longer there to catch them?

Will she watch his leaves flutter to the ground for years, while hers remain crisp?
When hers just begin to tinge with color, what will be the state of his?

Perhaps the soil of innocence should have been sated with more wisdom
So that she might have better acknowledged the future yet to come.

Never to know if it would have made any difference, not wishing it would be.
Just unable to fight the realization that her winter of life may be lonely.

Sixteen years were just another number then, seven years has changed the way she feels
Each year now deafens with its ring, creaking branches and wrinkled bark makes it real.

What will become of her in years to come, will she remain up on her hill alone
Mourning his once strong branches, solemnly tending all that he has sewn?

She imagines that this will be her fate; the acceptance is agony with a silent shout.
But she relishes the days she knows she has with love, because that is what life is about.

Life, Love: Paradoxically

laughing i can barely see through my tears
laughing i can barely see how i've been torn

joyously enjoying life i never want to leave here
joyously enjoying life not longer torment do i have to hear

with this hand in mine i can finally tie the knot
with this hand in mine i feel no longer like naught

wanting to gain her affection i offer her this rose
wanting to gain her affection from my seat i rose
