iPhone Maniacs

crankshaft tendencies secure a brace of sly meatballs
truth daggers entice the worm girls with petite pastas
creature lilacs uproot themselves for pink dippity-do gels
white nylon ghost legs roam outer space in latex leotards
metacarpal syringes find porous outcries in the gloaming
crankshaft tendencies welcome the tilted exonerations
iPhone maniacs fondle frothing bananas mindlessly now
demon spiders ooze inside the crawlspaces wanting meat
cross-eyed priestesses suck on wax candles in the vestibule
black-robed choirs sing hangover music to the dribbling
rock music annihilations played by stoned dudes in shades
temples and taverns shake as the truth daggers hit earth
now the worm girls are dancing with the iPhone maniacs

Spelling, syllable count, vanity, too simple, Simon! Be prolific, cruel, smart, up to par, above the bar, fit for the stage. Tap, tap, tap…

The Prismatic Self

See the wooden stage, markers for my feet, bright lights, great expectations, critical analysis. Curtains will open any minute as my words make an entrance. Will my opening lyrics draw a crowd? Who will be in attendance? The theater’s not likely sold out.

Backstage, the sponsors, who are they? ATTENTION! As if a teacher wields a pointer, tapping at my feet. Will the audience throw erasers?

On the palm of my hand, the rules - perhaps strict, but I’m not in fear of a stickler. Trained by the nuns in love and hate knuckles.*

Lots of rules, I might have to practice the act for quite a bit longer. I practice in my dressing room, trying on outfit after outfit - those flouncy forms or something simple and succinct.

Am I a people pleaser? Do I perform at the pleasure of the King or Queen? Or am I my own worst critic?

Yes! Yes! Yes! No!

I desire to be seen but I will yield. There is something more important than being the lead. Still, I must confess, I must run back to my little box, mime my tears, dread my limitations, take a breath and when I am ready - take a bow.

At the onset, I must build my own backdrop, backstory, be vague and understood. I run my lines quickly, slowly, go over them again and again, even as I recite them freely, as a monoku or Shakespearian sonnet; or get even more elaborate.

I labor over each word, its placement, its meaning. I don’t care! I do care! I must feel it practically perfect; though I will let it go. Eventually, it will be a comedy of errors, erroneously erupting past the stage, in the rubber hands of cause and effect. The sponsor’s Marlboro ashes fall on it, without understanding my heartfelt meaning; my wings clipped as I await the list…the dreaded and dreadful list. Most surprised when I am the cream, alone - floating at the top.

**Fastbreast, blushing, aghast, euphoric. That sponsor is exact. I do not grow prideful. I do glow. The tip of the iceberg shows, all other words sunken, below. In leotards, the ships pass by, having a look - one clips itself.

*conceit
**Fastbreast - heart beating rapidly (Neologism)

Age of 55

Coming of Age

Sitting on my front porch
Watching the world go by
I wonder what I’ve learned
At the age of 55?

What were the 60’s all about?
Did we need to yell and shout
As young men died and distant wars raged
Did we learn anything in the haze?

Coming of age in the 70’s
Not long after Vietnam
I learned from the media
Not speaking up, thing go wrong.

The 80’s gave us disco
And songs everyone knew
With aerobic dance in colorful leotards
And jogging in Nike shoes

But the shadow of war
In the 90’s loomed wide
As our smart bombs and rockets
Lit a distant desert sky

Retaliation came to our unwatched shore
As great towers fell, floor by floor
A new patriotism built from fear
Started the new millennium, goals unclear

Yet a decade goes by and
Bombs still fill the distant desert sky
Pat downs at our airports
Will not soon subside

Pulling troops out of one desert
To battle somewhere else
Does not bring peace to people who
Can’t accept the differences within their selves.

Desert Storm, Vietnam, Korea and WW2
When will we learn and surmise
This planet cannot, will not survive
If we continue to conquer and divide.

Sitting on the front porch
Watching the world go by
Have I learned anything
At the age of 55?

Circus Memories

Acrobats in the center ring
Ballerina bears on balls and bicycles
Cavalcades of clowns with calliopes
Dancing damsels in glittery corsets and tulle skirts
Elephants parade in wrinkled suits
Fire eaters flourish flames
Giants on stilts wave ribbons and flags
High wire artists risk their necks to amuse us
Impressive strongmen pull rocks on sledges
Jugglers toss rings and pins and torches and make improbable catches
Knife throwers thrill us with speed and accuracy
Lion tamers in tights tease lions and tigers
Mimes in masks mimic monkeys
Nets cover the aviary of exotic birds
Ostriches with riders race in the far ring
Pink poodles in tutus ride on a tiny Ferris wheel
Quick stepping ponies prance through their paces
Ringmaster Robert in his red velvet frock coat and top hat looking debonair
Slack rope walkers dance and do splits on a swaying rope
Trapeze artists twirl in spangled leotards high above the crowds
Unicyclists on unicycles tall and short and zigzag form fancy formations
Velvet vixen contortionists fit inside tiny trunks and magic boxes
Winged women do a wild dance in the air
Xylophones play for the circus parade
Yellow silks hang high above while leggy aerialists dangle and spin on the web
Zebras perform in unison; feathered headdresses bobbing on their heads

Rat Race-Work In Progress

Parents control what their kids are taught
It's not a matter of them wanting to or not
Go to school and get a job
That's how people pay bills on these blocks

Get married and have a kid
That's what everyone I knew did
While working full time
Stressing and counting every dime

Vacations on credit cards
Outfits for sports and leotards
Payments for the SUV or Chevy Malibu
Could live in a smaller house
Status would be demoted it you moved

Taco Tuesdays cause Mondays are crazy
Wed thru Fridays insane so weekends are lazy
Exercise? When I have the chance
I'll want to when I can't fit these pants
Why am I overweight and tired?
Cause I'm working overtime so I don't get fired
Cycle goes round and round
Not forever though,
In 30 years I'll retire.....?
This is a work in progress.

I go to the gym
    so I can fit in
the pants I bought last year

  Though I must admit
    it's nice to sit
  and study the leotards there

Playing With the Paint

pickle a paper and print paint playfully pointing pins
Knitting needles in a fish and chip shop is about as useful or as necessary as eating a soup with a spade. Dramatic are the arriving interludes of splashing drops of juice omitting from the clouds above. Circling is not just for dove it is also used by spotted leopards who never wear leotards anyway so never wave goodbye dressed in a bright pink tutu if you are otherwise engaged in deep conversation with a clown ship. Oh giant wrath from canned peas. Do you not understand that you are only allowed to speak when you are boiling? Yes. Boiling. Now good go to sleep. And stop banging. Bring no erratic iron to a visionary contemplation gathering at dusk. And into one melting pot there is always much lava so please wear a balaclava and smile over fifteen times at a flame. And wave. Wave. Go on wave. It is the grin from within a flamed fork that the beetle most admires. Very very proud species with a tale of tantric takeaways. Often a sideways dash off to a milder tent. And always ensuring that the levels of the ground in a swamp are correctly adjusted to reflect the size and the weight of all the passing wildebeest, hooked rhinos, hippopotami and the sponge cake. Right now go and drink eighteen ladles.of tea and make a donkey sound loudly. Hahah. Missionary mice making meat. Hahaha lettuce loving leaping linguini. And a peppered steak grin. Premium Member The Ballerina

The tiny ballerina
Was as pretty as a rose
She was quite a sight to see
As she danced upon her toes

Pink leotards she wore
With a white ruffled belt of lace
A natural looking beauty
With a blush put on her face

She was glamorous and elegant
When she twisted and she twirled
She wore a shapely figure
And her hair was long and curled

I watched her in awe
She was slim and she was meek
Jewelry box music... she danced to
I smiled...from cheek to cheek

Leaping

The juxtaposition of a jelly bean is a line out symbol which points not just north but in all outward direction. To consider an atomiser a friend is to put on a hat and scarves in very cold weather. Nevertheless it could be said that a beat box can boom at this time so one must hide slippers in mugs and take tantric lessons from aspiring affluentional affiliates. Achoo achoo cried the toast soldier lay down on a round plate. I would of liked to have had far more butter. For to glow is to flow and to flow is to grow. Like a boat. Rather reaching radiuses ridiculously. And baking an omelette soup. Take no ball of heifer cake to a flower show. And drive no cabbage in a floaty dress to a garden party. Signal then. Good. Great isn't it.operatic arrival of a bopping stick. Fantastic. Wow. Work not an adaptable weed in an upright position in a Turrentine pot. And cue no angle at eighty degrees. 1 2 1 2 1 2 3 attempting a maritime movement. Monumentally moons. And that glare off a jar. Haha and now eat a sweet. Haha leopard leotards leaping. BALLET DANCERS AT THE MUSIC SCHOOL

Like a field of mountain flowers
Arching bending tip-toeing
The music?
A wonderful waltz
By Tschaikowsky
The girls
So slender
So light
Expressionless and swift

But then!
Laughing
Dash into the hallway
Costumes
Green red yellow
Bright white
I smile with
Mild delight

AT ONCE!
A tall green weed
Chewing gum
Glares
Clear through me
“Get lost PUNK!”
They bang the door
Fill the air with
Their sweaty leotards
Swan Lake continues

Quick

Reading diaries of different discussion blots is considered to be akin to perusing the top shelf of a historical library section. Each label once worn drops like stones sinking into the carpet and creases of streamed floorboards. Floorboards do float don't they? Have you not seen the many that pass the doors? They are quicker than the doors anyway so best spray the armpits and go jogging then. Thought the woodworm athletic tribe. And a big lorry leering. Lecherously. Leeches lingering. And limbs lumber. How rather audaciously brilliant then. Isn't it? Kent jam race on the large spoon. Leotards Versus Jumpers But Just What One Per Cent Will Actually Climb a Tree

One day an ancient barrel decided it had truly had enough as it tripped over a bale of hay on the staircase. ENOUGH he shouted ENOUGH. But the only thing to hear this cry was the walls and floors who looked on in hasty disregard. All they were concerned about was mind ingestion through liquid contact. Scrubbing swashbuckling swaddling striped silky sunbathers. And a mystical glow from a block of cheese was placed on a cracker then consumed for consumers carry cars carefully and a marriage between a fork and a knife can often result in many a ladle being born. Uncharacteristically of an unchartered flight with no pilot. And no stewards either. Just one acorn shaped passenger with a parachute. Jumping. Nose to tail. And a little wobbling plate of moose was often a multicoloured mess. Splat. And spoke to spokes on a three wheeled bike so easily as if it had known them all its life. Wow. Fragrant fashionable fickle fortresses. And a large bang of a bongo booming. Time to chop an eel then. Isnt it? Polling pools picture pollination play. And a diagram of a citrus tree is about as useful as a map of a jam jar. Haha palatable patted patterns pointing hahaha triangular key swiping a door. And a spotted eel and snake in jumpers are far more sensible than a worm in a leotard Xxxxx palatalization z z z z z

Premium Member The Wrath of Frankenstein

It was the eve of Halloween,
In a mansion on Haunted Hills.
The yearly gathering of Ghouls,
For poker and a couple of chills.

The Mummy was first to arrive,
Then the Wolfman and Frankenstein.
All were guests of Count Dracula,
Who offered each a glass of wine.

They all sat down at the table,
A game of stud poker began.
The Count drew a large flush,
But the Mummy had a better hand.

The leader after a few hours,
Was the Wolfman in leotards.
Frankenstein was in a rage,
Cause he was drawing lousy cards.

He stood and kicked back his chair,
And threw the table across the room.
Just as they were about to fight,
In came the Witch on a her broom.

Said, "You boys are acting crazy,
So let me help you understand."
"All your money just left the room,
In the hands of The Invisible Man."
