Best Lamb Poems
You must teach me to be humble
For love is the reason you died
The lamb is so clean, white and holy
A newborn Lamb of God who makes new life begin
The Lamb gentleness is evident for all
Take away my sinful thoughts and lies
Worthy is the Lamb that carries your words
I'm no angel, but I know they exist
You paid with your blood for the salvation of men
Love abundance is where you are found

- Thank you for my 2nd place in contest :) -
this is the hour resting on the basin
of a sacred chalice awakened by crowns of stars
peeping then, swelling blue yellow...
while duskfall filters the shape of a world
kneeling on wooden pews and candles;
the winds touching the valley that knows
this is the hour… when the homage of many
an outstretched arms surrender
to the blazing wisps of a godly dawn,
of late twilight's hour ...
for this is the hour, lightened by stroked peace
offering the vessel of divine light
along primeval rivers, and earthen clay:
shadow to light light to shadow reaching
the final call as on this the hour,
a scented air bestows chaste stillness…
until one last remembering
when the gentle lamb of holiness
circles through an arched moment ,
while kindness of eyes bows unto this hour.

She sat by the fence,
the lamb struggling to reach her
for shared soft kisses.
A seven-year-old shy girl;
two souls in innocent love.
In Genesis
When
Abraham asked by Issac
"Father, where is the lamb?"
Abraham answered
" Son, God will provide a Lamb"
Abraham was
Faithful
Willing
Offered
His son
God
So loved
Abraham
Stopped him
And showed him
A RAM
Temporary sacrifice
John
Met Jesus
Baptized Him
The Holy Spirit
In the form of
A Dove
Landed on Him
Afterwards
John said,
"Behold
The Lamb
Of God
Who takes
Away
The sin
Of the world"
Take note
The sacrifice
Was supposed to be
A pure, unblemished
Young lamb
In Jewish law
Jesus was The Lamb
He was sacrificed...
1 Corinthians 5:7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch-as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
John 1:29
New Living Translation
Jesus, the Lamb of God
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
Also look at Genesis 22: 8-14
The Alpha and the Omega, the Lamb of God
In the valley and on the mountain
In the ups and downs on the plain
A solid rock that never changes.
The supreme is with us
May he be baby Jesus
A solid rock that never changes
The messiah he is and our savior
Prince of peace, giving us peace ever
A solid rock that never changes.
Even before Jesus our God, our creator
Has been with his creation ever
A solid rock that never changes
With the birth of Jesus Christ , Emmanuel
“God with us” takes a new meaning actual
A solid rock that never changes.
In the person of baby Jesus
God is with us just to bless
A solid rock that never changes
To protect and guide us
Or merely to work thro’ Jesus
A solid rock that never changes,
He is asleep there on the hay.
In the person of baby Jesus, yea
A solid rock that never changes
He’s omnipresent, unseen, everywhere
But He is always there.
A solid rock that never changes
With very many names, titles and codes
The Alpha and the Omega, the lamb of God
A solid rock that never changes

Quote used "I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-Am.”
Dr. Seuss, Green Eggs and Ham
My mum says I’ve got to eat all my greens
They’ll help me grow strong, guess l know what she means
But why green eggs and ham, I just want to eat jam
For I like to eat jam whenever I can
Jam on potatoes, oh that’s simply delish
I spoon it on carrots and it covers my fish
I eat jam for breakfast and always on dinner
Mum says I’ll get fat and I need to be thinner
Why does mum always think that she’s right
I need to eat jam morning, noon and night!
Every night time I kneel by my bed and pray
I thank God for letting me eat jam every day
But why won’t he listen for he knows I don’t like greens
I’d put them in firework and blow them to smithereens
Sadly mum disagrees and still gives me green food
It makes me all grumpy and puts me in a mood
But I eat them all up as I don’t want to fight
I still tell mum I love her every single night

I thought I knew the answers
I thought I could go it alone
I thought my way into a corner
I thought Mary's little lamb was a fairy tale
Am I the sum of what I think?
I think I am not wanted
I think I am not good enough
I think I am invisible
I think
I think
I think something is missing
I need a fleece as white as snow
Shall I go?
Go through the valley of the shadow?
Go to the mountain top?
I have gone many places
Every where I went I was told
The Lamb was sure to go!
Holy is the Lamb
Holy is the child of Mary
Holy is His blood stained fleece
Holy is His sacrifice
White
Spotless white
My soul white and clean
Washed by Jesus's holy blood
Holy is the Lamb
Holy is the Lamb
With fleece as white as snow!
For Verlena's contest.
I saw my mortality shaking in the wind.....
I heard my soul walking softly with the Lord,
no violent word could be heard between us;
As lambs we walked 'neath the gentle arbors,
through fields of grasses green
by streams dreaming starry cheers;
What could bring grim hope lives no more this eve,
though the rain pours against the levy....
and the wind hisses as ghosts steady....
As a lamb I walked with the Lord,
with starry-cheers,
and dreaming stream,
'neath gentle arbors,
and grasses green,
I heard my soul walking....
Best of friends
Are me and ewe,
Ain't no ends...
For us two...
Spent all the day
One day a year,
Running away
From our shear
Not with our kin
And not in the barn,
Not soon to be in
Grandma's yarn
Lucky is the cow
The heifer, the bull,
The piglet and sow
Never lose their wool
We're getting lost
Nowhere to be seen,
Licking the frost
In a meadow green
Feeling so free to
Frolic with the bees,
Where long grasses grew
Nearly up to our knees
Love to sniff each
Dandelion and daisy,
Temptation in reach
Drives us both crazy
Had eaten our fill
Before the bumbles,
Rolled on a hill
Taking tumbles
Me and my buddy
Finding trouble,
And getting muddy
In a pile of rubble
Fleece, white as snow
Not telling Mother,
All that we know
About one another
Of the springtimes
The unicorn, the fairy,
The nursery rhymes
About us and Mary
Best of friends
Are me and ewe,
Ain't no ends...
For us two...
Jesus born
Lamb of God,
Christmas morn.
Bethlehem,
There a star
Guided them.
Three magi
Witness him,
It begins.

Thus I sail the sacrificial scabrous seas and touch tormented tides
Battle-scarred in the breeze and washed ashore where evil hides
The Sun regrettably retreats where malice mortals digressively dare
Walking barren saliferous streets where I live on a penniless prayer
The citadels of submission crucially crumble where they saintly stand
In their unholy cognition you are a slave to their carnivorous command
Embedded in stone my tangential tears will endure beyond the grave
Bludgeoned to the brutal bone by the unlawful carnal knowledge knave
Lost in oblivion my blood runs calamitously cold by the river's edge
Beware the Ophidian with sabotaging scales leaving you on the ledge
Deceivers of the realm punitive penetrators connivers as they clutch
They manipulate and overwhelm with their torturous tender touch.
Let's stop the abuse...and spread the real love

1 original, poem on the theme of abuse, emotional, sexual or physical.
Any form is acceptable.
innocent white lamb
deep darkness; shades of crimson
golden lion roars
Church bells will peel from the towers
As clocks strike the midnight hour
Angels and church choirs will sing
Joy to the world from the new born King
Come to a world in need of healing
During this time of deepest appealing
Sister moon and the stars shine ever bright!
Adorn the skies on the holiest of nights!
Babies asleep infused with God’s gifts
Birth of “Love” comes to mend all rifts
Memories forever, our young ones will keep
To last a life time in hearts so deep
Children yearn for love the most and need
Food for body and soul teach them to sow
They journey in desert and rivers as they grow
Make them fit for potent storms on the winds
For our lives are songs each of us sings
Good works are needed, yet seek after faith
Eternity comes for you and I on any date
Not much time, keep watch how sand flows
Even wind whispers secrets that it knows
Look around you; evil is taking its toll
Step outside your little world, go take a stroll
Use to be roses first bloom in early May
By summer’s end roses should be yawning away
Now, winter’s near, yet new buds appearing
Subtle changes are up and it is alarming!
Ignore the signs; this mighty dam’s 'bout to burst
Soon the idol, “jade water” will turn to dust
Time to replace our idols with the real deal
Before our final fate is sealed
Place our faith in the one we can trust
God is Love, but He is also Just
The Lion and the Lamb
The Great I Am!
Calling all; hear his voice
While it's still our choice!

I did open the door, that let them in
Not minding my mother, my only sin
Oh so many a time, had I been told
Not to open the door, after we closed
I did not listen, but I surely did hear
I started to cry, so many a tear
Gun to my head, and mom on the ground
Forced to watch, without making a sound
The look in her eyes, it is hatred I see
The look she was giving, was focused on me
She tried to struggle, she tried to fight
But hopeless it was, I felt my contrite
Close he did hold me, hair in his hand
Come with me, his voice did command
Into the bathroom, with the other one went
Over the sink, is where I was bent
Slamming my face, into the sink
When I did wake, my blood I did drink
The sorrow the agony, the sheer pain
Why did he leave me, why wasn’t I slain
What he had done, to me on that day
Words I cant speak, or even convey
Images haunt me, his eyes do taunt me
Mirrors that vex me, for life did he hex me
Now I am a man, no longer thirteen
One day my mouth, I could not get clean
So I had all my teeth, pulled from my face
Now I feel ugly, I am such a disgrace
But If I give up, it means that they win
Would that be so bad, is It such a great sin
For the sorrow I feel, and the tears I do cry
The nightmares I have, and the wishing Id die
They Are the things, that make me who I am
Lead to the slaughter, I was only a lamb
