no matter what

dedicated to my deceased only brother, joshua

i'll stay with you,
as long as the wind blows
i'll always be in your heart
you know i didn't leave you all alone
i am of eternal essence
my spirit is within you
live my life for me
do all that i cant do
be the one that i once was
conceal the chances known as a flaws
and if contentment immerses herself
or sorrrow fills the air
you will hear my moral
and you'll know that i am there
there for you when you cant see
theres more to life than missing me
i wish you well, my sister, dear
for keep your chin up and wipe that tear

You Don't Say

My nose is itchin', company's comin'.
Land sakes alive, as I live and breathe,
haven't seen you in a ****'s age.
Lookin' fat and sassy.

We're fair to middlin', barely gittin' by.
Livin' hand t'mouth, kids drivin' us up th'wall.
Uncle Sam bleedin' us dry. How're y'all farin'?

I'm on the skids, man, boss on my case.
Tossed out on my ear.

	Ye gads and little fishes.
Ain't that the way, yah giv'em an inch,
	they'll take a mile. You'll wind up
with your tail draggin' your tracks out.

Well, buck up, boy, every cloud has a silver lining.
	Rome wasn't built inna day.
Don't give up before you start.
	Where there's a will, there's a way.
Keep your chin up, time heals all wounds.
Don't sweat it, man, it'll all come out in th' wash.
In for a penny, in for a pound.
Put on a happy face, fake it, till you make it.
Stop monkeyin' around, actions speak louder than words.
Go out there and knock 'em dead.
	It's every man for himself.
Let the chips fall where they may.

KEEP YOUR CHIN UP

I have such high hopes;
For you in this world!
I guess you can't see;
You're tucked up and curled;
In a safe, secure place;
Away from what's real.
With all of your needs met;
You don't miss a meal!
COOL as can be;
Caught up in 'this life'.
It seems you can't see;
What's real and what's right.
Let GOD help you;
Just search in your heart.
To help find new ways;
And to make a fresh start!

To My 14yr old son,
   I LOVE YOU!!!

Don't Worry, Be Happy : I Am A Kiskadee

I am a fearless Kiskadee
Sitting on a branch of this tree
Singing my theme song happily
With a Kis Ka Dee Kis Ka Dee

I sing my song very sweetly
Seeking to make others happy
Filling them with ecstasy
With its rhythm and melody

My message is not to worry
Despite how things in life may be
Don't let them make you feel crazy
At all times, strive to be happy

One can state things that are likely
But no one knows what things will be
So keep your chin up cheerfully
And sing Kis Ka Dee Kis Ka Dee.

The Great Kiskadee (Pitangus Sulpharatus) is indigenous to Central and South America, the Caribbean and Southern Texas.

Butterfly Spirits

When you walk outside into the open air
When you look around at all the beauty everywhere
Think of butterflies fluttering all around
Filling the atmosphere from the sky to the ground
When you feel the wind across your face
Remember my love is all over the place
When you see one lone butterfly fluttering by with such beauty and grace
Think of me and the last time you saw a smile on my face
Remember the joy we shared in our lifetime together
The bond we shared was the most precious treasure
You are blessed with memories of our years on earth
Just as God blessed me on the day of your birth
I have moved on to a glorious place
But daily I am still blessed with your loving face
When you see a butterfly, think of me
That is my spirit flying high and free
I watch over you my dear loved ones, each day and night
I am so proud of your choices to live your life right
My love for all of you will continue to flow
I miss throwing my arms around you more than you know
I am flying with Angels in the Heaven’s above
We watch over you always and send down our love
Look for the butterflies with colors so bright
For they host the spirits of loved ones now out of sight
You must keep your chin up and take care of yourself
But remember God sends His Angels to sometimes help
When you least expect it, at a time of great need
That’s when an Angel appears to do a good deed
Keep your eyes open and be prepared
Great blessings will be upon you when you’re least aware
Watch for the butterflies as they flutter around
They will soon appear in your life when they are less likely to be found
My heart is with you as I watch from afar
Angels walk with you wherever you are
Trust in my word and know that many blessings are upon you
For God has sent Angels who will help you through
Hold memories close and cherish those in your life with love
Trust in my word and in the Lord above

All's Not Lost

When life seems like a puzzle, but the pieces don’t fit, It seems next to impossible to do anything but quit. Your options are limited, and time runs too short; Every decision made felt like a last resort. You’re feeling trapped, about to suffocate; Life’s placed way too much on your micro-sized plate. But don’t lose heart, because all’s not lost; You’ll learn something new from every road you’ve crossed. You will only get stronger from the struggles you endure, And the mistakes along the way are just a scenic detour. So keep your chin up, and smile through the pain; The grass always gets greener, from every drop of rain.

Never give up

Never give up
What you want is not always what you need
Always keep your chin up
Even though we can get cut and will bleed

I try never to feel down
And try only to feed on what I need
My chin is always up
Not all wounds I have received would bleed

Keep yourself on the level
And you will succeed
When you’re not on the level
You only succeed with your greed

I try always to be on the level
But don’t always succeed
When I was not on the level
I did succeed with my greed

I will never give up
May not get what I want but get what I need
Hope you will keep your chins up
May you all survive times of very great greed

Things Have Changed

Listen to poem:
By Robert (Bob) Moore

When I was young, the doctor, came around if I got sick
gave me a pill, or needle, and that would do the trick
but thing have changed, and now we ring, his receptionist
who tells us, “you can come next week. I’ll put you on the list”

So you go round, the next week, sit in a little room
full of germs and sick folk, the air so full of gloom
yes he says, you’ve had the flu, his hand upon my brow
just stay home, don’t catch a chill, he says this to me now.

And then there was the milkman, came round every day
you can catch up next week missus, if you couldn’t pay
leave money on the doorstep, the empty bottles too
nobody would touch it, ‘cause everybody knew

Everyone was battling, just to make ends meet
nobody was richer, than the others in the street
we’d try to help each other, in any way we could
we may not have had very much, but life was pretty good

The breadman was the next to go, now he delivered to the shops
you had to go and buy your bread, with your bacon and your chops
that’s if you could afford to, things were getting very dear
you tried to keep your chin up, things could be better by next year

Then there was the paperboy, on street corners he would stand
yelling out the headlines, didn’t need no big brass band
“GET YOUR PAPER HERE” he’d cry “WHATS HAPPENING TODAY”
but I hardly even read the news, now he has gone away

or the boy who had the barrow, on a Sunday he would go
up and down the streets, and his whistle he would blow
he knew you might still be in bed, but he would wait outside
knowing as a regular, there’d be a bob or two on the side

Then there was the mailman, he would whistle too,
especially, if he had left, important mail for you
the internet, and social media, have dealt him a deadly blow
and that is why I’m pretty sure, he will be the next to go

                          <><><><><><><><><><>

Life is Worth

Life is worth living wherever you are.
Deep in the jungle or high on a star.

Life is worth living if you give it a try.
Even not thinking and wondering why.

Life is not always the way it should be.
Trials and troubles are not always free.

Sometimes our lives don't always seem right.
you can make it better by learning to fight.

Life is worth living whoever you are.
It's not worth stepping in front of a car.

You can survive it if you stay strong.
Just remind yourself good won't be long.

Keep your chin up and things will be fine.
And don't let the past keep you behind.

Count It All Joy

If troubles and trials come by the score,
And sickness and problems darken your door,
Count it all Joy.

Think nothing of it when things don’t turn out right.
Keep trusting in God, He knows your plight.
Count it all Joy.

The baby is sick and the house payment is due.
You just lost your job…the kids need new shoes.
Count it all Joy.

The roof is leaking, and the water bill is late.
Your only suit needs pressing-Jane needs a new dress for her big date.
Count it all Joy.

The car won’t crank- it may need a new battery.
One tire is flat, never mind it is Saturday.
Count it all Joy.

When Satan is testing you, and tempting you sore,
You know he hasn’t got you,
He wouldn’t be wasting time at your door.
Count it all Joy.

When you’re going down-grab hold of God’s hand!
He’ll lift you up, and help you to stand.
Count it all Joy.

You may be down, but you’re not out,
Keep your chin up and fight the good fight.
Count it all Joy.

Don’t let Satan have the last word,
Stand up and shout “Hallelujah” until all have heard.
Count it all Joy.

missing you

my heart is drowning and i can not swim,
i do not know where to begin,
all the things the were said and done,
wish i know just what went wrong,
i am comfused and also in pain,
dont think my heart will mend again,
thinking of the smiles we had,
i never thought that things were bad.
looking back on the day we met,
i always wanted to be your pet,
now the time as came along
and end of the day has been drawn,
wishing time has come and gone,
all my life a will be alone,
with the sadness floating around,
i really want to be in the ground
but as time passes by,
i will always look into the sky.
seeing the kids growing old,
this in life i will hold
it keeps you going through thick and thin,
and a new day will begin,
so dont let go for what you have,
as the next day may be your last,
keep on smiling and tap your feet,
as you never know who you will meet,
it may be a friend or a loved one to,
and i pray this never hapens to you,,,
but if it does your not alone,
there were many thats be on that thrown,
so just remember your heart is trong,
and life will sing as it goes on,
so keep your chin up and do not cry
am sure in the end we will get by,,,

What I would say

What I would say is,
Keep your chin up,
carry that head high.
Take everything day by day,
Put the important things first,
Never forget a moment that goes by.
Take the good with the bad,
Things will work out in the end,
That's what my dad always said.
Keep the good thoughts first,
Keep the people you love close,
And keep a clear head.
It gets hard at times,
The thoughts of her,
The length of a lonely day.
But I tell that man,
The one in the mirror,
That's what I would say.

Sorry My Poetry Has Lacked So Much Lately

I was looking over my stuff here, and itseems I've lost the talents I once knew here.
I write ancedotes for my column. I do journalism- always some deadline or project that I work well under the pressure of it all.

Writing is what I truly love!

There is just so many varied types I do, my poetry is suffering.

I enjoy reading the great writers here.
Sometimes I do not comment or remark because it is art and I'm at a loss of words.

It's just been enlightening to live such a full life, and to be right here, right now amazes me. I'm searching for some old therapeutic writes. I was on alot of medications at one time.
A victim of spousal abuse.

I came back up North severly medicated, drolling and my family would whisper, she'll never be right again.

Post Tramatic Stress Disorder aint no joke.
To be me, knowing what I do, and how very long it took me to recover...

When some never do.

Many men were nice to me along the way, poetrysoup has the best men in the world, they will embrace your differences, and encourage you to keep your chin up, and keep your pen flowing.
Vince I love you! Frank, you are the best friend that a girl to ever have! You've sent me so many books of stamps to write you back and also send you the latest edition of the magazine I am featured in monthly. Everyone has those times in their life, when nothing goes right. How you knew without me saying a thing.
Are you alright? a concerned letter in the mail when I was having it rough- and the presents that made me cry. It may have been a framed poem, but it meant the world to me, and still does.

And lastly John,
Why oh why did I pick the most just man to give the hardest time to?
He has put up with so much from me over the years. I love him with everything in me. If not for being a true servant of God where would I be without him.
I remember 5 or six years ago, and his lady, whats your problem?!
Well John, you are the very sweetest man I've ever known in my life... without you I would still be cold to the Lord. So many years and mile stones along the way. I can leave here, but just like the sands of Florida, you'll always see me back.
Thank You All, for reading me, but more - to support the struggling writers that fall between the cracks in society.
I love you Frank. I love you John. Don't ask which one more, because John is single and Frank is not hehehehe

cruelly denied

I am tired of pretending
Sick of acting like it doesn’t hurt
Because it’s just a big lie
I smile to the world like nothing is wrong
While alone I hide the tears that I cry

People offer advice
That is easier said than done
They tell me keep your chin up
But on my mind…I have several tons

So what do I do to move on?
I need to grieve what will never ever be
How do I say goodbye
To a beautiful part of life
That I am so cruelly denied

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

People will talk, until the
day you die
That's the TRUTH, I woldn't
tell you No lie
But, keep your chin up, and
don't you cry
Because One day, it'll all pass
you by
When you're able to stare FEAR,
in the eye
And. look for that Silver lining in
the sky

Sense of Worth

Sense of worth is a treasure in a safe;
The key is confidence.
To unlock the power,
You must keep your chin up!

Say you are not a mistake,
But a triumph!
Then you will see,
You're worth much more than anticipated.

Look in the mirror and be proud!
The glass portrait is your key.
Is it the right one?
Does it give you the treasure?
Does your life give you a sense of worth?

When Things Go Wrong Part One

When things go wrong,
Seems it sort'a cascades....
You sigh in sad acceptance...
Yet you're always amazed...
And it's seemingly relentless,
Before you know it, you're crazed...

Like losin' a remote,
Sounds like a thing trite,
But search, and search,
and search as I might,
It's still out of sight,
Not much entertainment tonight....
A 47 inch buit-in HDTV and cablevision,
With no way to view the picture....
Worthy of wide spread derision...

And in your pocket,
Is merely one buck,
Your lawyer and your friend,
have yours,
And it seems you're out of luck...

And the ultimate insult,
The revolting remote...
And now something else,
That really gets your goat...
Is being cut off by AOL,
You seem to be cruely smote,
No chance to reach friends,
Trade quips and cute poem,
Left alone by yourself,
Your mind does now roam...

What's next on the agenda,
A plague to erupt?....
All about me in trailerland...
To die quite abrupt?

A dog to lift leg, and pee on my shoe?
A bird overhead to "sheet" on my head?
An insect on the run,
To fly in my eye?
I wonder, "Why God?"
For me, please answer why...

Better go back to bed,
And dream once again,
The nightmares to end,
When the waking world,
I no longer retain...

When things are bad...
And you are sad....
And nothing works for you...
There's always someone
to tell you...
"Oh, this is what to do!"
"Keep your chin Up!"
"Why the long face?"
"Count your blessings!"
Can't they see somehow,
You've long lost this race?
"Be the silent strong type!"
Like I could believe
that croc of hype...
And remember in the midst,
Of that trite word,
The word "believe"
Is the word "lie",
And those who would deceive...
And "God will find a way!"
My favorite of all..
Seemes loaded with gaul...
God may find a way...
But will I last, another day?

Stuck on an island of no hope

Stuck on an island of no hope

You're stuck on an island, what are your choices
Hopefully the seeds in your head are good voices
First look towards the rising sun for direction
That was easy. Now look for shelter and protection
Now think ... if mosquito a breeding near water
You best look for an area that's dry my little squatter
So look for a cave, or an area out of the wind
Keeping in mind that those palms are godsends
And look towards the fauna for twines, roots and leaves
To make bedding, clothing or anything else make believe
To my little squatter this won't be easy, I'm not going to lie
You might have to suck it up-on worms, parasites and fungi
That is if you want to survive and see another day of hell
To my dear squatter ... is anything I'm saying ringing a bell
The point is you need to use your ingenuity and know how
It's not that hard to use a rock to a stick to a bow an arrow
It's not that hard to use a rock to a stick to make a fire
And who knows you might catch a fish or roast a sire
Personally I would also leave a note to kin
Scribbling on wall to give them closure that you were a has been
See you need to be thinking. Don't let the elements get to you
As life's destiny screams and wanes in brew
My last bullet in the chamber would be to burn the island down
So it sends a signal that it's hey me come rescue me, I'm still around

Oh I'm so smart. Yeah right.

Above all keep your chin up, speak to the Gods or your mama
Like mama thank you for the voodoo doll spike and all this drama
Okay that was a joke, the point is you need to keep your spirits up
As you drink out of your last supper's cup
Okay that was a joke, too, my little pup
Enough of the jokes. Words to the wise, though, keep out of the sun
And have fun.

You Know Nothing About

Dark origin behind the dawn of life
Dumb souls laugh far-off stream
A chip heavy on shoulders
Crash with thunder storm
Generous thoughts from heaven
Fall like cold dew in a pail
Walk with a profound heart miles and miles away
Thoughts prevail every time with no answer
Often lose action with single que, how absurd?
You get trapped in the same web as spiders do?
Then you’re off on the wrong foot
Just give a slip from yourself, long to soar up the sky
And fly as high as a kite, leaving the cruel world behind
Let others stroll and wade up to the shore
For you desire no more pleasure
The need for fresh air is all in demand
Is this how necessity became the mother of all?
You will hear people spin tall tale not one but many
The ridiculous **** and bull story from the attic with a cry
Keep your chin up and listen till the end
You can’t escape from loose cannons around
The world carries Hell in a hand basket
Every rose has its thorn; still the flower grows on pins
There will be horrid little lumps within but don't crush the bud When you know you’re barking up the wrong tree,
Float down the running stream to know your rope
stamp hard feet down and see you appear bold on them
Carry yourself safe in the dark-dark night
Bold sense of vision hidden from the bloody sight
An untimely resignation is traumatic, true!
But every cloud has a silver lining
Stumbling blocks or stepping stones throw possibilities open
It’s time to pull the plug and aim for the best of both worlds
You need an eagle's sight to fight against the feeding frenzy
In fact, there are no mistakes, only experiences
No problems only challenges, the ultimate spring of survival
One day, you will find your feet fixed on the right ground
Ready to explore the beauty of new space
Dare not give umpteen excuses or never justify wrong
Some are irreversible!
Life has been kind, sometimes harsh, but mostly fair.
But think positive! Is it that simple?
Do billion good thoughts mean billion actions?
So many questions but answers too
Now, you might doubt about fear and sorrow
But not about life, love and death!
Is this what we call mere symbolism of deeper reality?
You know nothing about...
But know that your Lord has got you where you’re now!
Will be taken there in your own time and reach that extra mile, Be you and teach to learn!
Count blessings no matter yours or mine!
Today, I stand to be a little more aware
My life is still trying to teach something that’s worth a try!
You know absolutely nothing at all...!

It Is Harder Than It Seems

(Year 1)
You try to hide
somewhere deep inside
As the blood spatters on the window
You try to compromise with the needle
Like a hero without a soul
As it throws you to the ground
There are no reasons to hold on
It's like falling in love, just to unfall again.
Like a loop that has an end.
Contradict, as you pretend.

(Year 2)
Your heart is light
I see you in the pure clear night
With so many years of learning
You never learned to keep your chin up
This one way trip leaves you broken
You'll never see your old home again
This resentment builds for the rest of your life
Independent actions from a dependent being
You need to find yourself
And place what you find on a shelf

(Year 3)
You listen to the radio waves
All those bad songs are all the rave
You lose your train of thought so easily
Like you lose your will to live
The pool is clean and crisp
And smells like chlorine tabs
Your mind is easily disturbed
Like the surface of the water
You cast no reflection, that's no surprise
You watch the bubbles as they rise

(Year 4)
You finally found what is right
The words are now easy to write
You stood up to the demons
And salvaged what's left of your life
Are you someone new?
You grew tired of your world gone wrong
The view from the corner of the room is inviting
The fear of death is tucked away in the shadows
As you rock back in your chair
You no longer feel that crushing despair

Fake It

Keep your chin up
you look confident
Don't let anyone put you down.
They can tell when it hurts
don't let it show

Keep your cool in public
You don't have the time to break
down.Respect others and
they will show you respect.

Act like you've got it all...
even when you don't. Don't waste
all you time on a guy
chances are...he wasn't worth it.

You can do anything
even in your worst moments
so put on your best smile
and fake it!

I Found the Devil

I'm severred from life
A million miles south of Heaven
But childrenplease don't cry
I'll be fine, it'll work out
Unless before then I die
Just keep your chin up
And let Will take you in

I fear we're not alone
I stil wonder...sometimes
Is it Gabriel? Lucifer?

Just picked up and spit out
Chewed but not swallowed
You despise the taste
Cut me, beat me, rape me
I'm totally different now
Dreaming of what I only know

And if I caught myself
Trying to kill myself
Would I stop?
Because of you, Kristina, I'll never be the same

--So there I was
Lying there crying, bleeding, and dyin as I write
I felt alone and alienated
But then I found Trinity

The light

The Light...

Light a a candle
see it glow
watch it shine
and you'll know
think of me
think of LOVE
sending it
From up above
I feel the same I deeply miss you
You have to be brave for me
Because YOUR my light too
I may not be here PHYSICALLY
Don't you worry
You'll ALWAYS be part
Of ME
When I am lost your light
Helps me to see
There's nothing that can
come between you and ME
We have a bond
Very speacial through
the years
Celebrate my LIFE please
don't cry my dear
Relax there's no need for fear
Close your eyes envision
me know that I am near
When ur unsure talk
to me I'm by your side
Always here
And when the candle burns
Out in the night
Remember love everything
will be alright
My loving arms will be
holding you tight
I live in you forever
Darling please dont use the words "never"
Take comfort and believe
one day we WILL be together
For now keep your chin up
and your spirit bright
Because I can't find my way back to you without your hearts glowing light
And when times are tough be strong and fight
I will be waiting for you here
To spend our Eternal life
