In Aussie-land dwell the marsupials
By night they paint the town connubial
   They make them a joey
   Named Zoey or Chloe
Neighbors jump for joy indubitable

The boat of Joy,

And that of Sorrow,

Over

The tempestuous seas of tears,

Endlessly navigate!*

One Senior's Sonnet

One Senior’s Sonnet

The feelings are frozen, fetid in time,
Decisions denied to the dwindling mind;
Possibilities piling like lengths of twine;
Acceptance of aging cannot be blind.

Duties demean while trying to hold on;
Where hides the help while faculties dim?
Will compassion kindle the fire now gone?
Can joints jump for joy in arthritic limbs?

The sun is sinking in a twilight red rest.
Peace being pursued is allowed conquest.
And tasks like talisman line up in rows
In order opting one by one were chose.

The frightening fear of morning’s trembly dawn,
With prayer and persistence is dead and gone.

The Game of Soccer

THE GAME OF SOCCER!

Stadium overcrowded by
hooligans and fans
Cheering waving flags and
clapping their hands

Players on the field they’re
ready to start
There goes the whistle it pumps
up their hearts

Adding strength to the ball and
kicking it high
The ball travels overhead how
beautiful it can fly

Over center field and still it
goes strong
Pass received with ease and the
player runs long

There he goes for his
opponents goal
He dribbles through each player
he’s on a roll

He takes the shot and curves it
by
The keeper dives for it far and
high

The goalie misses it the balls in
the net
There’s a moment of silence
and no regrets

The winners jump for joy that
win was a must
Opponents heads tilt down low
they leave in disgust

A player’s life fulfilled is playing
world class
To be playing all year long on
the rich green grass

Play with heart, that’s the real
answer
Of how to play the true game of
soccer

Ding Dong the Wicked Witch Is Dead

Globally, miners jubilantly jump for joy
Smiles on the faces of every girl and boy
The grins of a newly opened Xmas toy
Thatcher’s dead.

Trade unionists bounce along the street
Music blaring and the tapping of feet
From nurses to Bobbies still on the beat
Thatcher’s dead.

Street parties announced in the nation
Satan who brought economic inflation
Is deceased, now’s the time for elation
Thatcher’s dead.

Its times like this I’m sad I’m an atheist
And can only shout and wave my fist
And then go to the pub and get pissed
Thatcher’s dead.

While you waited, he slipped comfortably into her panties.

Sometimes less is not more, it's just short of enough.

Rather than saving for a rainy day you should buy an umbrella today.

If you are reaching for the stars you can be pretty sure you're standing outside.

He felt a bit irritated when he had to jump for Joy!

He was on the highway to hell, fortunate for him his motorcycle broke down.

She wanted one on one time, sadly she had someone else in mind.

Of all your personalities I like this one the best!

Every time I make a judgement about you, I learn something about myself.

If you want to be seen, sometimes you need to stand by yourself.

Speaking louder does not make you right!

When you walk with your head in the clouds you're more likely to trip.

Original sin has become somewhat unoriginal!

I want to one day be as smart as he thinks he is.

Everything old is still old even if the new stuff looks old.

You can take that to the bank but it will cost you!

If a coward dies a hundred deaths, he should be extremely well prepared.

The poor cat got ripped off, he only had one life.

The man who talks the least has the best hearing.

Never ever underestimate the power of your own stupidity.

Not all who appear friendly are friends.

The one who loses brings another much joy.

I see you. I feel like that's all I do anymore.
No words escape from my lips.
All I can think is "There she is"
My heart races a mile a minute.
I don't know whether I'm going to
jump for joy when I see your face or hide
in agony in a corner like a child on punishment.
All I know is that your beautiful.
I wish I could read your mind and
finally get these feelings understood.
I almost don't want to burst the bubble.
I'm afraid of the stench of the truth when it comes leaking out
like an old carton of milk.
I'd much rather watch you from afar and dream.
Black hair flowing down your back.
I never knew I would be this intrigued.
And there you are. And so am I.
I'm so confused about these sudden feelings.
I stare up at my ceiling thinking of you and hours transpire.
I wonder if I'll get crushed like a massive earthquake in Haiti.
But just the though of these feelings being consensual
scares the hell out of me. As long as I don't go forward
I will never know but boy am I enjoying fantasizing about
what I don't know. Just the pure curiosity makes me want
to dive into her like a kids first experience with snow. Pocahontas.

Best Friend

My best friend is a puppy
Who loves to be with me
He’s always giving kisses
While he's sitting on my knee

I love to take him Golfing
And watch him have such fun
As walking down the fairway
He’s always on the run

You get home in the evening
To see him jump for joy
His little tail a wagging
He brings to you his toy

Then life shows its true colors
It stabs you with a dart
It takes away your pride and joy
And kills your happy heart

Oh it’s not right to steal you Joy
To take away your boy
And leave you all the Grief and pain
And happiness destroyed

The Robin knows the time of day,
the time to stay, the time to fly.
The story goes, or so they say
this is the way to Lora Lai

Pinch me once, pinch me twice
or better yet, don't pinch me at all.
Just do your best, defeat the test
then grab the bar and never fall.

Climb the rocky road to dreams.
Jump for joy as you arrive.
Keep your heart idled in gear
with your head in overdrive.

The journey, though long
is gone in a flash
What was, now isn't and
what remains seems brash.

Topsy-tervy we then pause.
We rant, we rave, we analyze,
We lip service poor advice
from those who recognize

That we like all the rest
who flip and flop and flail,
who complain, cry, yet fail;
have the sign upon our door,
- - -beware of fate- - -

Ours is but to run the mile
to shell the peas one at a time.
Not to ask how many more
buckets lie just beyond the door.

And in the end it shall be said
We did the best with time we had.

Great is each new day called life
Reaching out and doing all that is
necessary for each to enjoy living, not
Selfishly hoarding all good that's about
Sharing the blessings instead of waiting
Until a direct hit from a severe storm, for
We should give a little each day,the
blessings we will receive help weather a storm
Awesome each day's sunrise, time to
anticipitate each hour that will pass
Linger in the sunlight with its
rays dancing and sparkling about
We all need to begin today learning
To spend some time each day to
jump for joy, relax in the sun, to dance
In the sunlight or rain, in
good times and bad for the
storms do come and bring pouring rain

JUMP FOR JOY

One Flew Over the Cuckoo Clock

Arriving all the way from
the Black Forest which
is somewhere in Germany,
came a medium sized package,
which was made out to me,
inside the cardboard box
was a beautiful cuckoo clock,
which apparently I had won
even though everyone had mocked,
I looked at it and thought it cute
while my husband acted like
a little kid with a new toy,
and when he wound it up
and it started cuckoo-ing
I thought he'd jump for joy,
so it started to cuckoo every single hour,
with the little animated cuckoo bird
showing up expressing his power,
the first week I heard the
cuckoo clock every single time,
especially when I was
trying very hard to sleep
or when trying to think of a rhyme,
my husband snoring loudly
as well which didn't help,
I thought of myself as someone
being serenaded by
an orchestra from hell,
when finally I arose sometime
at night during the second week,
feeling like a crazy woman
from all the lack of sleep,
going to my husbands
locked cabinet
where he kept his glock,
I finally couldn't take it anymore
and murdered my cuckoo clock!
