Many ingredients bake writing inspiration.
This recipe combines a stirring sensation:

Heaps of desires never realized
as marinated in teary sore eyes;
Quantities of wide open spaces
caramelized by nature’s appeal;
Ageless genuine emotional traces
sifted thru heart rendered graces;
Equal parts family and romantic love
as roasted within, without and above;
Measured creamed ideals of peace
with blanched pain and battle grease;
Diced wishes braised with thrill
bearing aromas of tangy heat or chill;
Slices of awe from a glorious tree
breaded with traits strong and free;
I do not forget sour spices of greed
dusted with mankind’s violent seed;
A mix of fears dredged in anxiety
with stress jelled in complexity;
and, lastly, faith garnished spirit
grown in a soul conscious thicket.
If able, I mix love with ingredients above
before sampling my recipe once warmed up.
I enjoy serving it in a poetry cup.

Sweetness and sourness of life
depends on the seasoning of emotions.
We are blessed with the gift of birth,
but our thoughts are processed
using different ingredients.

We all explore paths to euphoria,
but passengers we pass by,
sprinkle their own nourishing memories,
upon our picnic of existence.

Pain persecutes everyone,
despite the diversity of
gender, colour or faith,
but it tastes the same.

Yet love is never the same flavour.
Romantic aromas can leave bitter side effects.

Vibrations of a heart breaking,
sound the same, but some cracks are deeper,
some wounds heal quicker -
some forever remain.

Delicacy of regret is one we never forget.

It's embroidered on our tongues,
reflecting through bitter breaths,
as flashbacks echoing in dark corridors,
resemble rotting cuisine.

Our essence is simply cultivated fodder,
within a vulnerable universe,
feasting on a substance of snacks,
awaiting our best before date.

Ingredients To Achieve A Dream - Panagiota Romios

Dream Recipe: Ingredients

Have a huge dream that seems unachievable!
Be fearless and put up pictures of that dream all over your house.
Invite your God to mentor you and  then close your ears.
As the world is replete with nay-sayers out to choke you with fear.

You think I am supercilious or dallying in a game?
No, this is so real, if you don't do this, you will find others or
circumstances to blame.

Most importantly, do go on a total news diet.
Total abstinence, please, oh please, just try it?

Read and listen to only things that uplift you heart.
Be very careful as what enters your mind, as all that
becomes you.

And if suffering from any illness, do the best you can to not let
it define you!
Don't let anyone ever steal your dream.
Then your life can be the Creme de la Creme!

[David Kavanagh’s recent poem, ‘Of Infinity’ so
astonished me in its similarity to my own pet
theory, that I was inspired to finish this poem
that I had been struggling to get right.]

                         ***

All the ingredients there ever were
The atoms of everything ready to stir
All of the molecules in you and me
Have been in existence since prehistory

It’s sheer mathematics it simply must be
Our atoms exist in perpetuity
All that there was is all that there is
And all that there is is all there will be

One big Earthly spice rack, our ‘from’ and our ‘to’
Yesterday’s old becomes tomorrow’s new
A smidgen of this and a teaspoon of that
A pinch and a sprinkle made me… and my cat

And when I lay down for my very last time
New life will come using bits that were mine
Because when we die we return to the rack
To season the new with whatever they lack

Though space ships go up and there’s asteroid hits
Our Earth doesn’t gain or lose that many bits
So cave men and mammoths and tyrannosaurs
Had bits that are mine and bits that are yours

The atoms that make up the grasses and trees
The monkeys, the bats, the horses and bees
Might one day be water or silver or tin
Or even your great, great, great granddaughter’s gin

So whether we’re burnt or laid into the ground
We’ll be going spare when the time comes around
It may be our iron or maybe our salt
For all that we are does not become nought

We’re made from ingredients from way back when
And someday we’ll all be ingredients again
And someone that you may have lost in your past
Perhaps you’ll rejoin in the same blade of grass

Ingredients of Life

What's a sweeter gift than love?
What's the greatest wealth than hope?
What's a richer state than faith?

It behooves you to live by your faith,
And keep aflame the spirit of love,
Woe befalls him who derides hope:

Nothing is drearier than a life bereft of hope,
And he's a lost soul who's without faith,
But unfortunate is he of all who's without love.

All is lost when one loses love, hope and faith!

Ingredients

i prepared a simple supper
but with great love i cooked
that main meat of refined wheat
durum semolina, traded as rotini

an Italian pasta to go with beef, a grace
from a Canadian cow grazed in prairie grass,
spiced with herbs from the hunted tropics:
ginger, garlic, turmeric, and coriander

powdered, with red pepper powder
and red pepper crushed, black pepper
(also powdered), added to the onion
chopped, fennel, fenugreek, and cumin

(all seeds), and the magical mustard,
adding leaves chopped: basil, chives
and parsley, with garam masala, a Bharat
special, sprinkled with hardly a pinch of salt

before adding the slow-cooked African beans
and Mexican sauce: chopped and crushed tomato,
and boiled potato, after being sautéed
in the US canola oil to enhance the taste

of minerals and more already in my pan:
folate, iron, niacin, riboflavin, and thiamine
already mixed in carbohydrate, the main
with Chinese additives: citric, soy, and seasonings

unlisted; likewise the two sealed cans
that curtailed my sprinkling salt for supper
came with corn starch, sugar, more spices
and blackstrap molasses, and a poetic muse

And
Letting go-coming to present moment noticing You alive
Have large responsibility to guide your life with compassion

Ingredients

sonata for the flute and piano
adding
some slices
of a sunrise tasted with the friends
and a calm sleep on the sand

for the brioche with bilberries
I cut the almonds
I break the nuts
in this August evening
the sky releases the colours- like the agate

on the seashore
at the "Seamagic"
torrents of musical phantasies
against the seediness
the Benedich eggs

excited
a handshake
a dreamy smile
broken peers in white wine
who wouldn't give the marchal stick for a marengo chicken?

when the woodcock’s eyes
start fading away
it is a sign that it can taste quiet
this dusk of the day or life
as ISSA can say

tiny summer rain
a romance in the ice bucket
for later on
between graces and muses
only Seneca’s hen

together with the poetess Kozne Uzawa
it a milk coffee
the autumn is near-
some drops in a caress
may cure the heart

The Ingredients of Love

What are the true
Ingredients of love
Is it honesty
Is it commitment
Is it faithfulness
or could it be all three
can someone tell me
Is this how true love should be

Love is an action
It's not just a spoken word
show them that you care
display your love everywhere

show them by your actions
and not just a spoken word
that never travels

Ingredients For Stranger

There’s this stranger
I must have known her before, from a past life
It’s impossible to be so connected with anyone this way unless...
Can you hear the sound of Cebu from there?
Are you familiar with the morning cooking?
The sound they make when they sautee garlic
The AM Radio at the background
The sound of the keyboard as I sit here typing while talking
The humming of this old Hanabishi fan
Can you imagine how the room looks like?
How the bed looks like?
I am curious.
How you picture me through the sound you hear
I don't know, it fascinates me
That’s real situation.
I spend a lot of time with you every day
You must already know a lot about me by now.
This is awesome, a real life indeed
What is this sautee garlic?
Put a small amount of oil in the frying pan
Then you add the garlic
The sound, it makes me hungry!

We'Re Soup Ingredients

This year makes 10 years since I've been an ingredient in this soup,
Due to lifes' journey, been in and out like a belt through pants loop,
Over the years I've read some great poetry, made some great friends,
If you're just joining this group, we welcome you family, you'll
soon comprehend,
Not seeing poetry from some of my old friends anymore, but hope
you're all well,
I'm still around y'all, still firing words through readers mind, like the
great William Tell...

Above the Lady's mantle
lay the Angel's trumpet
Fairy wings

Belladonna light the candles

God is invisible but he does exist
Romance is invisible but love exists

But you'll suffer enduringly
Just like you can't judge someone
guilty
Without full proof and solid evidence
But guilt exists
