Honeymoon Serenade

Just as the moon rises each night and even as snow is caressed by its light, then glowing, I'll rise, becoming your dawn, your curved sleeping form to smile upon. With eyes like bright stars, I then will embrace the landscape of you, each small line on your face. And surely you’ll mirror my worshiping glow, for I am your moon and you are my snow. I’ll keep shining down with each breath you take. May I blaze in your dreams before you awake. And barely I’ll whisper, “Keep sleeping, my dear.” Your faithful beloved, I’ll always be here. Six Thousand Suns From Yesterday

You have seen three thousand suns
You will witness six thousand more
Feel the warm breeze and your lover's kiss
As the sun sets upon an ancient shore

Place your sweet head upon soft sand
From puzzled dreams answers are spoken
What is fixed beyond sun and stars
By doubters can never be broken

Let the connections beneath your skin
Connect your heart fully with your beautiful mind
The mysteries of love will open your heart
Without love we are nothing but blind

In your dreams you will be surprised
As you listen, answers will be spoken
as you're suspended within vibrant colours
Tomorrow will no longer be broken

You should know you're formed in perfection
You were always meant to be free
    Never worry about tomorrow
Doubt and fear are a weak enemy

 Float high upon ardent breeze
As you gaze into your lover's eyes
Strength comes from fully giving yourself
Within passion you are lifted up to peaceful skys

Let the tingling convert, until it no longer hurts
Your numbness will lead to gain
Sunshine is pretty and it is pure
yet there is much to be gained from the rain

   As each splendid rhyme
 builds on your last line
Life will become sweet on your lips like wine
ocean waves coming in, will help you begin
Until sadness and pain become gossamer thin

       For dear girl
the ocean awaits
The sunset will accompany your need
      You will feel angels weep
Who were lost to the deep
As the sound of true love reaches their ears

  As melodies play
        your heart begins to race
As your lover feels your lips upon his face
A moment can be
                 an eternity
Within a pause you find a sacred place

Metallic or not from chains you break free
You're exactly at the place where you need to be
              The sweet nectar of love
Raining down from above
A gift so splendid for the world to see

One day soon much later on
You will hear the angels say
"I remember you when, you were so young and free
just six thousand suns from yesterday
Your love took our breath away!"

Reaching the deepest Ocean

My Beloved,
Can you read me between the lines and verses,
Can you feel my tender scarlet heart throbbing,
   with intense drumming emotions?
Can you feel my fragile spirit, searching for you own?
Searching in the corridors, reaching for your soul?
as my ivory skin burns in flames of crackling fire.

My Baby,
Can you feel the depth of wanting, and longing?
Can you feel the aching for your touch? Can you
feel me in your dreams,as my fingertips run down
your spine in vertical motion,Needy for each and
every part of who you are.Needy for that special
man I came to care for and desire.

My Dearest,
Can you close your deep warm eyes for just a moment,
feel my pink soft lips brushing yours,as our toungues
play in melodies of passion and love.
Yes,Love!Lust alone isn't enough for the broken hearted,
Everlasting Want is what we live for,two hearts lost and found,
Two Candles flickering in the darkness'Vast.

My Love,
Can you feel these Multitude of feelings, that I'm feeling?
Everytime i mold your face in my imagination, sculpture
you and all you are in my sweetest fantasy.Everytime I
hear your voice echoing in the alleys and valleys of my mind.
Can you feel these never ending emotions, shallower than the
Missisippi River and Higher than the Alpi and Appenini.

My Sweet dream,
Can you feel me in the Hiss of the night? In the gentle waft
of waves hugging the rocks and secret caves? Can you feel me
in the Wind'scented breeze, caressing your face?In the lullaby
Of The Nightingale in sweetest melodies, till you fall so fast asleep,
and dream,as a red robin dreams.

My Love,
If you feel what I feel, and dream what i dream,Hold me in your
Misty dreams, and if you wake up to find me gone,Remember!
Just remember,I love you,You live in my first awakening thought,
and in my deepest lasting dream.

COMMUNION

"COMMUNION"

You speak to me in tongues
I hear you with my heart
I feel you with my mind
Like a Spring bloom, I am slowly unfurling
Like a ripe plum, you taste me in my rhymes
You touch me black ink injected drug potent
Red Poppies between lines
I sense you in your dreams
They are swelling next to mine
Like a drunk, I swallow all your delicious words
You turn into endless Golden Chalices of Altar Wine

I see you through your mirrors
COMMUNION - You see me, walking now through mine.

A beautiful truth

I listened as you spoke
a beautiful truth
in my soul I said amen
lovers love, when all seems lost
poets capture it with their pen

When I'm filled with sadness
and my heart feels deaf
words are magic that you bring
these soundless words on a page
are what cause my heart to sing

I breathe your unseen breaths
my lungs filled with air
you cradle me in your dreams
silver filling the night sky
love flowing to me in streams

You think you dance alone
on a pure white stage
until you're offered a hand
then the magic comes alive
the stage is yours to command

We Eclipse as Sun and Moon

Gatherings from my heart
   fervid thoughts as they seep
from its depths they are churning
   my love runs fathoms deep
Flowing from pointed nib of pen
   evocative words alight
I envision you reading them
   in your dreams tonight

Do I fulfill your masculine cravings
   your most erotic desires
Have I kindled flames of passion
   until they are blazing fires
I've tasted your moistened lips
as they whispered low moans in plea
and felt your body tremble
with its alluring need of me

Are you engulfed by tumultuous waves
of yearning when I draw near
Do you ache, needing my touch
   when my voice you hear
If you are impatient for the eclipse
of our joining as sun and moon
Then I'll know you feel as I do
and love is equally in attune

Captive Deep Blue Je Reviens

"Captive Deep Blue Je Reviens"
I walk beside you in your dreams, you are always in me warm and pounding, twin heart, burning bright flame, beautiful addiction captive deep blue je reviens Sun igniting, I stand with you invisible in deserted French vanilla streets, holding your hand, fingers entwined the warm breeze caresses skin, lingers like lips your after scent hidden on me. Undressed my deserted garden waits wild abandoned, growing lurid pinks recklessly stranded impatiens they are waiting lying open in beckoning lush wet valleys of pungent violets, wild primroses, erin lillies and oriental orchids serpents climbing thick green wooded trees wrapping legs, bare feet “K.I.S.S.”, you whisper to me. I never leave you throughout my days you are always in me warm and pounding, twin heart, burning bright flame, beautiful addiction captive deep blue je reviens and the nights I sleep breathing in and out in crushed velvet dark your name speaks mine whispering sweet longings sliding hips our hands drawing new cartography. Awake I am searching for you while scrying mirrors it’s not my eyes I see Yours are the windows of another soul staring back at me Somewhere on the other side worlds away from me Confederate Ghost betwitching familiar haunting passionate down to a sunless sea spent obsidian clandestine Coleridge My absent Valentine Split in two, living in another time. I walk beside you in your dreams, you are always in me warm and pounding, twin heart, burning bright flame, beautiful addiction captive deep blue je reviens My absent Valentine. (Lovejoy-Burton/Jan 2018)
“And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething, As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing, A mighty fountain momently was forced: Amid whose swift half-intermitted burst  Huge fragments vaulted like rebounding hail, Or chaffy grain beneath the thresher's flail: And 'mid these dancing rocks at once and ever It flung up momently the sacred river.  “

In Your Dreams

Was it all a sweet dream or just reality?,
I sit and ponder that very thought,
During the daylight and in the nighttime,
Wondering, were we ever there or not?

A crescent moon smiled down on me,
Shedding it's white light upon the ground,
I sat amongst the petals, waiting patiently,
And it was there, that me, you found.

Lavender flower petals I did pluck,
As I was seated atop the green hillside,
Does he love me, or does he not?,
My love for you, I could not hide.

I only saw you as a dark silhouette,
A shadow that walked upon the ground,
Among silver stars and a midnight sky,
Your gentle voice was the only sound.

My darkened silhouette was no longer alone,
While yellow fireflies around me dance,
When you came to join me atop that hill,
In the meadow's softly illuminated romance.

I was embraced within your arms,
As your most tender kiss met mine,
On that one warm summer's night,
When our kindred spirits did entwine.

So sad was I when the time came to part,
As the rising sun shined golden upon my hair,
Although, what a beautiful dream it was,
When I awoke and found you there.

A Pirates life for me- for contest

Here we are in 1650, which is ten minutes to five
swing the wheel to the West, which is left,
put your sun cream away, man the mizzen and the stays
as we set off for some murder and some theft.

You'll find us as your hosts on the sunny Barbary Coast
and from there we venture forth to ply our trade
we've been out leaving them for dead from the Atlantic to the Med
before we skittle off back home our fortunes made

With a yo-ho-ho and a barrel of grog
and an arrr and some other cliches
table leg for a thigh and a patch on me eye
as a Pirate I will end my days

As I previously stated we all get inebriated
from our copious imbibing of the grog
our excuse is there's no Cola in the bars of Hispaniola
which is why we need the hair of the dog

With a yo-ho-ho and a barrel of grog
and an arrr and some other cliches
table leg for a thigh and a patch on me eye
as a Pirate I will end my days

Got a woman in Bermuda and another in Tortuga
and they give me lots of lovin' for some coins
and although they're very foxy they're just both a pair of doxies
which I'm sure explains the rash around me groin

With a yo-ho-ho and a barrel of grog
and an arrr and some other cliches
table leg for a thigh and a patch on me eye
as a Pirate I will end my days

Now we're really no buffoons when it comes down to doubloons
and our treasure chests are burstin' at the seams
then old Blackbeard started spouting about doing our accounting
so I said (before I shot him) 'in your dreams'

(ye chorus)

As we skirmish the Atlantic I was starting to get frantic
since the one thing on my voyage I've always feared
is the men who've not been coming for a while across some women
have all started wearing lipstick, which is weird

(arr, the chorus again)

Well it's reached that point me hearties where we anchor down and party
so me shipmates here on board I'd like to thank
though the mix of food and beer has now given me diarrhea
which is why I've made our cook just walk the plank

(for thee last time, chorus, arrrr)

September 17th 2015, 'A pirate's life for me' contest, sponsor Kelly Deschler

(Author's note- there are several spellings of diarrhea, but it doesn't matter, they all have 'arr' in 'em, me hearties)

- Finding God -

    She carries on a dream
a dream that will take place in a beautiful glimpse

That the rock will overflow with cream
Hearts will be opened by the colorful light beams

The dream and the doors opened tidal stream
Desire is divine ... looking, she feel like scream

One way she does not know ... a strange feeling
The dream, heart, and the mountain redeems

She found her savior, her God - believe in your dreams

Gigaflops

  Gigaflops

Did you meet the Boogyman
Did you see his stare?
Or were you in the land of nod
Blissfully unaware
Of the face that’s at your window
Or the menace in your room
Or the giant bug that’s infiltrated each device you own
The sinister reflection to be remotely viewed
Or the troll that sits in wait beneath your old computer stool.

Did you know the Boogyman had come tonight to stay?
To interfere, to change the rules, to win, to have his way.
To permeate the World Wide Web and take complete control
To hack into your emails and alter all your codes
Open up your firewall, check that it’s enabled
Test your antivirus make sure that it is stable
Back up all your data your photos and your files
Scan and defragment, reformat your drives
Ask yourself which Boogyman do you fear the most
The worm, the thread, the virus, or the awful viral ghost

Step into the Matrix, be one with the machine
Understand it from within, if only in your dreams
Feel the power that drives it, look behind closed doors
Recognise the program files, could they possibly be yours
Switch off your computer, let the screen turn black
Gaze into the monitor and see it staring back
Even when the power is off the monster you can view
Face to face you realise, the Boogyman is you.

The Unicorn

The Unicorn

Once upon a time…
an incredible event occurred that was so sublime.
On a warm summer night many years ago,
awakened by the rhythmic tempo
of hoof beats coming from the yard below,
I peered outside my bedroom window.

There on my lawn I was astonished to see,
a silver-white unicorn peering back at me.
Dressed in only a nightie, I dashed out my front door;
and found him frolicking, prancing to and fro.
Sparkling as he was under a silvery moonbeam,
I wondered if this was only a surreal dream.

He was handsome, noble, and dignified,
so confident and assured trotting to my side.
In awe of this mythical creature, I couldn’t speak,
but gently patted him from cheek to glowing cheek.
His well-groomed mane felt like satin and silk,
with a faint scent of harvested hay and fresh milk.

Then I heard from inside my head,
a deep, masculine voice which stately said,
“Your Majesty, it would be my great honor
to take you on a tour of celestial wonder!”
Reverently he bowed, as I, completely taken aback,
hesitantly mounted his muscular unsaddled back.

Time stood still as he swept me away,
right through the heart of the magnificent Milky Way.
We flew past amazing asteroids, planets, moons,
and zillions of stars looking like fiery, bulging balloons.
In flight, we traveled at the very speed of light,
and I was exhilarated with unbridled delight.

Returning me to Earth, he bowed his gallant head;
and as I dismounted graciously said,
“It’s been a pleasure, my dear Queen;
so long, and I’ll see you in your dreams!”
But even though our voyage of discovery was over,
that mystical experience changed my life forever.

Never again have I seen the unicorn on my lawn,
but from time to time, between midnight and dawn,
in my dreams, I hear a voice that’s oddly familiar
call out my name in a velvety whisper.
And somehow I know that it’s my old friend…
who’ll be watching over me ‘til the end.

Deceptively Black and White

deceptively black and white, like night and day touching everyone yet never truly felt colorless emotions lucent like crystal water as ice fades into warmth of day, destined to melt but a specter, a phantasm, a ghost am I no more than a visitor in your dreams unseen, a diminutive reflection of you, a broken mirror, a thousand silent screams no one sees me, no one hears me, no one alone, so very alone, you look through me like mist in the morning I fade in the light am I here or a figment that you can't see just a breath that tickles the back of your neck invisible, easily brushed away, a mite LOOK AT ME! I am here! a rainbow that needs love too I'm real, I'm not so deceptively black and white

In My Dreams

I was telling a friend the world will someday be a better place
He said, "You're out of your mind. Get out of my face.
The rich man sings while the poor man screams.
A better place? Maybe, in your dreams.
I said, "You're right. Maybe in my dreams.
Because in my dreams, I see it changing
I see the world rearranging
In my dreams we will hate no more
In my dreams there will be no war
In my dreams there is a world of love
With blessings showered from heaven above.
There are lakes and rivers and clear mountain streams
I can see it all in my dreams.
The bitterness you feel will all be gone
There will be a brotherhood to carry on
There will be charity and faith and hope
And a caring heart to help us cope.
There will be an end to human fears
We will no longer see a mother's tears
We will stand proud, we will stand tall
In my dreams I can see it all.
In my dreams we will know our worth
In my dreams there will be peace on earth
So, in a way, you're right it seems
I can see it happening in my dreams."

Whispers On Your Skin

Whispers On Your Skin

Sometimes in my mind I go
where never have I been.
Slipping quietly into your room
like whispers on your skin.

I watch as you lay sleeping
I join you in your dreams.
Sailing over mountains
skipping across streams.

Counting stars up in the skies
that we can almost touch.
How can something never known
still be missed so much?

That's the way it feels to me
and this place I've never been.
Somehow I know from deep inside
I'm returning once again.

Like pictures in a magazine
of a far and distant shore.
A place you never heard of
yet you've been there before.

So many things for me unseen
I long to see again.
Slipping quietly in your room
like whispers on your skin.

We are Soul

We are Soul
Please believe me
Just relax and you will feel me
Whispering to you in your dreams
I am you and you are me
Always together for eternity
We are one
Can't you see?
Always forever never apart
Living and loving right from the start
Come let us run for tomorrow awaits
Waking is so very hard to take
You know me in your sleep
But you forget me when you rise
Please believe in me
Just realize

The Firing Squad

Soldiers marched, upright and ready
Bayonet's pointed, their hand at the steady
The town folk feared what was at hand
They were simple folks, working the land

The soldiers carted away those who could work
On trains they went, when finished, into the earth
Others though not in working order
Faced a certain death, in weather getting colder

Hey you in the wheel chair?
What's your name?
Darren Sir, I am a poet of fame
Well lad, follow me, is your end game

Hey you who hobbles along?
What's your name?
Seren Sir, I am a painter of fame
Wee lady, soon you shall be one dead dame

Hey you, walking in your dreams?
What's your name?
Arthur sir, a man who now is lame
Get in line with the others the soldier proclaimed

Off we went to the edge of the town
Each with fear in our hearts and eyes piercing like darts
We knew the fate that had landed us together
A poet , an Artist and a dead philosopher

The firing squad you see, cared not our valor
We three were blindfolded and tied up to large trees
As the rifles were loaded and the orders given
A voice from the heavens said they wont be forgiven

The lieutenant in his fancy dress uniform
Yelled out, at the ready, the bullets soon to storm
A silence filled the void, but only for a moment
Fire he said, as three dead villagers fell, lives stolen

Darren, Seren, and Arthur, ended up in heaven, where every day, they lived in a beautiful garden, with not only beautiful flowers, but an open bar, and all you can eat buffet, Darren now runs free. Seren now has 2 new knees, every month, for eternity, and happily runs Marathons along with Darren. Arthur sits at the bar in the garden, while sipping his rum and cokes, absolutely amazed, as he chats with the bar tender, Tim Smith.

Notes: This was inspired by Serens comments from PoetrySoupChat in which she said, they should shoot us both, dues to the recent pain and suffering. ( she had a knee operation ) Darren has gone through multiple operations recently, and I am amazed at this strength and positive attitude towards others even in his darkest moments.

There is no good suffering, whether it be physical, emotional, depression, and the only thing I can think of is to laugh, as laughter at least brings smiles and maybe a wee bit of solace. I mentioned Tim, because he too recently went through knee surgery, so he knows the pain, I simply could not kill him in this poem, as then who would be the bartender?

This made people smile, that's all the counts for me, and I wish to assure you no poets here actually shot in the making of this poem!

I hope the music, represents in a more serious way, the suffering of pain, in any way it should manifest itself.

Believe In Your Dreams

we learn from the past
putting mistakes behind us
and then move forward

there are no limits
no boundaries or fences
on the roads we walk

life is a canvas
we hold the brush in our hand
to paint our pathway

this is the dawning
of making our dreams come true
each beautiful one

create a future
with an open mind and heart
beginning today

Night Angel - Collaborating Sonnets with Lin Lane

In deep slumber madness, she comforts me
Appearing, unencumbered, from the mist
Subconscious suspension our nightly tryst
Erasing my mind of bad memories
She mends and warms my soul so tenderly
Imbibing my thoughts and heart with her kiss
Lovingly fulfills a long ago wish
Thankfully restoring my sanity
Regularly she visits in silence
Enlightening my dreams with wholesomeness
Wiping my tears of angered betrayal
Exchanging her love for malevolence
I awaken with renewed happiness
Refreshed from the angelic portrayal

                  **********
Rest easy, dear one. Night Angel is here
To ease the worry from your furrowed brow
Kiss to the cheek, I lay upon you now
In your sweetest dream you will feel me near
Memories of your past no longer live
No need for tears to fall from pain or stress
Tender love I offer in my caress
Gift of my thoughts to you this night I give
Wake on the morrow, glad to greet the sun
Knowing night has me coming through the mist
To comfort once more when your cheek is kissed
As Night Angel hovers o're her loved one
Though I must wait till night sends its moonbeams
I shall never leave you lost in your dreams

                 **********
Undeserving am I, for such mercy
A sinner and tormented vagabond
Cavorting with strumpets in Babylon
Rendering my soul hungry and thirsty
Yet nightly, through the mist you come tersely
Descending with your kindness from beyond
Blessed with your kiss my memories abscond
Overfilling my heart with love firstly
Night Angel, I have prayed for forgiveness
From the midst of my dreams, am again whole
By the magnificence of your meekness
My conscience is now bending from stiffness
The morning sun brings new light to my soul
Now no longer will ever go sleepless

Sleep My Love Sleep

Sleep my love, sleep.
Rest your head on my breasts
and place yourself into my keep.
Then, dream us on a mighty quest.

To a land where dragons exist.
Where we can run through mystical forests,
as we chase unicorns through the mist.
Then, on pretty balloons will float, I promise.

As through the marsh we must flee.
Toward evil knights guarding the keep,
where the buried treasure is we seek.
Before we escape on the murmuring seas.

Sleep my love, sleep.
Close your eyes and spread your wings.
There is no reason for you to weep,
for in your dreams you are king.

Night Angel: A Collaboration with Daniel Turner

This is presented in a series of three sonnets in a collaboration
between Daniel Turner and Lin Lane.
They are based on the original sonnet of Daniel's "Night Angel."
Thank you, Danny, for the inspiration and for allowing me to
give poetic voice to your Night Angel.

In deep slumber madness, she comforts me
Appearing, unencumbered, from the mist
Subconscious suspension our nightly tryst
Erasing my mind of bad memories
She mends and warms my soul so tenderly
Imbibing my thoughts and heart with her kiss
Lovingly fulfills a long ago wish
Thankfully restoring my sanity
Regularly she visits in silence
Enlightening my dreams with wholesomeness
Wiping my tears of angered betrayal
Exchanging her love for malevolence
I awaken with renewed happiness
Refreshed from the angelic portrayal

                  **********
Rest easy, dear one. Night Angel is here
To ease the worry from your furrowed brow
Kiss to the cheek, I lay upon you now
In your sweetest dream you will feel me near
Memories of your past no longer live
No need for tears to fall from pain or stress
Tender love I offer in my caress
Gift of my thoughts to you this night I give
Wake on the morrow, glad to greet the sun
Knowing night has me coming through the mist
To comfort once more when your cheek is kissed
As Night Angel hovers o're her loved one
Though I must wait till night sends its moonbeams
I shall never leave you lost in your dreams

                 **********

When Darren Met Jan

Jan and Darren once met up in a local bar
Darren hoped his chat up lines would get him very far
Jan was not impressed and wouldn’t give him her address
His chat-up lines are dreadful I really must confess

Darren refuses to heed the warning
Would you like toast for breakfast in the morning
Honestly Jan things are not as bad as they seem
You've seen me before, I'm the man of your dreams.

Oh I know Darren and you’re so good looking
A devil in the bedroom and you also love cooking
But I prefer to have my eggs unfertilised
Don’t look at me like that with your big brown eyes

I can see myself in your beautiful green eyes
I do horoscopes, Aha you found that a surprise
What the stars are telling me there is no disguising
When you sit on my lap, That's not Jupiter rising

Oh be careful Mr Watston! Will you behave!
If I sit on your lap I'll be in an early grave
You've always known I'm happily married
But in your dreams your thoughts can be carried

You forget I know your husband Bob
He's taking me to the TT if I do a good job
I'm to flirt and joke and laugh and tease
Until you beg for mercy and say pretty please

Oh Darren Watson you’re a terrible flirt
You eye up anyone in a mini skirt
And as for tightly fitted jeans
These things I guess you see in your dreams

I admit I've got a roving eye
I know you're into swinging so thought I'd try
Yes I know Bob will love you forever
But he promised us guys must stick together.

Your chat up lines are wearing thin
I’m not really after a night of sin
We truly are the best of friends
I hope our collaboration never ends

Ending our collaboration never entered my head
In the poems we write I can get you in bed
You are beautiful, sassy and have a great sense of fun
With wonderful legs and a fabulous bum.

Do You Really Know Who I Am

You've seen me by a million names,
You've read all about my pain,
but do you understand me? Do you know who I really am?

My head is pounding slightly,
Sometimes I lose my eyesight,
my body likes to destroy me. It doesn't much care who I am.

My tears slide down my cheeks,
my knees are actin pretty weak,
but do you really know me?

My home life is a mess,
I fall in love deeply and get depressed,
I speak in flowing words as if everything were nature,

My eyes are ever changing, untrusting and availing,
leading me down whatever path I must,
I've been a broken doll,
I've been a caged animal,
A million different things,
But do you really know me
Im faceless, Ever changing in your dreams

I See You In My Dreams

Are you a figment of my imagination or are you for real
Do you dream like me and feel the things I feel
My head hits the pillow is it your face that I see
I wonder if I’m in your dreams and how you see me

I hear your voice around me can’t get you out of my head
Wonder if you dream of me or someone else instead
Lie there dreaming of the things we’d do and say
Then realise the alarm is ringing and it’s the start of a brand new day
