In Awe of the Moon

At night I'm in awe of the moon
and breezes that carry her tune
breathless I seductively swoon
for the attraction I'm not immune

through glorious fields we do tread
passions spilt out slowly have bled
chapters once scripted are read
together our fears now have fled

footsteps a plenty I've taken
sights I have seen not mistaken
beauty in eyes now awakened
bonds were built but not shaken

dreams coming true that are real
a soft kiss on your lips I shall steal
two hearts draw close I can feel
an infinite love we reveal

at your side I do gallantly stand
pledged firmly on your left hand
each day spontaneous not planned
capture riches of this bountiful land

sweet smells of honey dewed grass
a doe and her new fawn quietly pass
the pond peaceful unblemished glass
in harmony it's God's perfect mass

Dear Lord Jesus, this gift of love you give to me
More precious than the breath I breathe
Flows endless as the mighty seas
Bringing countless blessings in times of need

To know that you live inside of me
May I reflect your light on all I see
I feel you always in the rising sun
And I smile through tears when rain clouds come undone!

Amazed, I watch as lightning bolts zip 'cross darkened skies
And marvel as thunder rumbles through pillars of clouds
Be it day or night constantly by my side
I’m in awe of your love; forever my guide

You gave your life for me; set me free!
Though undeserving, you pour down your loving grace
Upon mankind irrespective of belief
And call to each, 'come taste and see what it means to be free'!

When my days are done and your light I return
May it be as brilliant as when you placed it in me
Let me not return empty keeping it to myself
I pray that I give freely to light another’s path

You whine and whistle, ghostlike, when you round
the corner of my cottage in the cove.
You sweetly soothe or taunt and terrify.
No one on Earth dictates where you will rove.

A menacing marauder or a mild,
		melodious, mysterious delight,
you play your part in nature to the hilt--
just heard and felt, not subject to man's sight.

I Stand In Awe of Nature

The power and beauty of Nature fill my heart,
Sometimes, gazing at a mountain's grandeur make the tears spill,
Thunder and lightning at eventide, give me a thrill,
Yes, I stand in awe of Nature.

A bird's sleepy chirp at twilight makes me take notice
As I think of the hard life they lead, but still they're happy,
The clear, blue water of a lake gives me a glow,
Yes, I stand in awe of Nature.

Tornadoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes all speak of Her power--
Then I watch a horse trotting around a track, and I think
"What raw power and yet what beauty we live with"
Yes, I stand in awe of Nature.

If you ever watch a sunset over Earth's waters,
Or listen to a tree whispering to another,
You can't help but feel the power And the love of our planet,
And, like me, you will stand in awe of Nature.

Inspired And in awe of Majestic Beauty.
.
Stagnant moss and patches of lichen
Cling to weathered uneven
Sandstone dry stone walls
Segregating lush green moorland
Surrounded by silent sisters standing
Lofty huge and tall
As wholly clouds majestically graze
On both idle pleasant and more inhospitable days
.
An unpredictable temperamental land
As seasons emerge and in an instant
Temperatures rise or plummet
A wild desolate place
A patchwork quilt of lush greens and tawny browns
Vista from tor and towering summit
.
Stretching for miles sweeping vale and steepled hill
Silence broken by raucous carrion crow
Perched upon the wiry lightening struck tree below
Carpets and thickets of purple heather
Provide home for various critter
And shelter from the harsh weather
.
Boisterous gales bellow and blow
The drifting blanket of snow
Within winters icy grasp
That bites tender flesh as if by an asp
.
The raptor stretches it’s wings and takes flight
Riding upon unsteady thermals
Hunting for pray below
That leaves a trail of footprints below
.
The dilapidated uninhabited farmhouse up yonder hill
The old windmill It’s sails now still
The wind still whistles through
With its unforgiving icy chill
.
A landscape that largely time has forgot
Mainly unchanged for countless centuries
Draw the hiker with its rugged pleasantries
And never ceases to inspire
And be admired.

In Awe of Night

A verdant night
consumes my eyes,
beyond is a light
in blackened skies

portals opened
the unseen seen,
shooting comets
develop a dream

A violin cries
of the deepest dark,
winging my heart
sound found its mark

now in the darkness
my apron of sorrow,
is thrown on the ground
draped into tomorrow

I cant my face
up to the moon,
filling my heart
it vibrates to croon

trees of the shade
move without form,
grass is curling
this isn’t the norm

A lonely sparrow
rests on a pole,
through his eyes
I see pure soul

flickering leaves
move on the ground,
the air caresses
as it swirls around

my drying mouth
moves without word,
lips start to speak
but nothing is heard

this magical eve
wrapped into my gaze,
and through my tears
is a beautiful haze

night watchers at peace
are reclining on stars,
they are resting their feet
on the front steps of Mars

I close my eyes
to this spectacular sight,
and relaxing my body
I fade out to white

Forever In Awe of the One Who Created It All

The stars you place in the eerie night sky
Are guidance for my ever wandering heart and soul.
The wind on a summer afternoon
Are your silent whispers
Traveling to my ears,
Reassuring me
That everything is falling to place
In the works of your hands.
The sun is an emulation
Of your overwhelming love
For It surrounds me on a daily basis.
Consumed I am
And happy through it all.

In Awe of Your Love

LORD,I'm awe of your love
You keep me safe in your
Arms and bless me with
The presence of your
Righteous arms
LORD,I'm in awe of your love
The wings of a dove
It extends further than
Your love,more than hate,
Is always enough
LORD,I'm in awe of your love
Your discipline never is viewed as tough
It is soft than a shower puffer (lol/smile )
Like your grace
I'm in awe of your love
For it is forever sufficient

In Awe of His Creation

From the bright yellow sun
that rises in its glory in the
beautiful mornings
Following the peaceful,
chilly, non-bruit wee hours
of the night
To the celestial birds that
flap their fluffy wings in
ecstasy of freedom
Gracefully piercing through
the light blue skies
I’m smitten by this aureole
creation. Oh, how beautiful!

From the infinite horizons,
far beyond my eye can spy
Only from which I can hear
the sound of the vibrant
rivers
To the rains that drizzle
from the heavens
Silently splashing on the
countless grains of sand on
which I stand
I’m amazed by this
awesome creation. Oh, how
wonderful!

From the flora and fauna of
the wilderness
And the bouncing
butterflies that spice the
serene ambiance with color
To the ants of the ground
and rodents that burrow
the earth
Creating communities of
millions; flourishing with
life
I’m enchanted by this
creation. Oh, how
magnificent!

From the sun that sets in a
blaze of resplendence
Fizzling out to its glorious
hideout deep in the horizon
To the bats that blindly fly
at dusk from the empty
dungeons to the universe’s
canopy of trees
And the twinkling stars
cascading like millions of
fireflies
I’m mesmerized by this
creation. Oh, how majestic!

In Awe Of The Night.
.
Countless sparkling diamonds twinkle
In a soft dark velveteen nights sky
The bashful milky moon
Shows it’s luminous face once more
Capturing the receptive surveying eye
How many hearts and minds
Have seen the same stars as I
Since the beginning of time
How many idle dreamers
And lovers swooned beneath the splendor
Of an amorous moon but tonight the stars are mine
As I stand here in admiration
And in awe
Thankful for the wonders of creation.

I know your challenge is a key

                                  So long my muse has

                                     Flown from sight

                                       Now here I sit

                                       My challenge?

                                             Write!

                                     The silliest I ever saw.

But challenge me, and I will write!

How many will I do tonight?

                               Poet friends, be patient please

                                 As finally I'm writing! These!

In Awe of a Friend

A mother,a grand-mother and a great- grand mother too,,,
A lot of influence through the years has flowed through you.

You have built a legacy as the years have gone by...
And the influence you have had will never die.

Few people have done what you have done...
And fewer still have had your fun.

You have a mind that is sharp as a tack...
And you're full of vim and vigor and that's a fact.

So I tip my hat because I am blessed to have a friend like you...
I stand in awe of the greatness of you.
