In Awe of the Night

In Awe Of The Night. . Countless sparkling diamonds twinkle In a soft dark velveteen nights sky The bashful milky moon Shows it’s luminous face once more Capturing the receptive surveying eye How many hearts and minds Have seen the same stars as I Since the beginning of time How many idle dreamers And lovers swooned beneath the splendor Of an amorous moon but tonight the stars are mine As I stand here in admiration And in awe Thankful for the wonders of creation. . How many wonders can one deny.. Love this, the imagery, the slight alliteration and the assonance... Those two of my favorite poetry techniques.
