Autumn Fire
About the time August loses ardor – melting into her – she awakens!
Unabashed is she, Autumn’s uncommon goddess, unfolding herself for all to see.
Thrilling to wind’s tempting tempo, she flutters, touching the twilight tangerine.
Unflaggingly, she undulates radiance through trees before their final undressing.
Moved by a mysterious melody, she meanders in meadows and in mists.
Nuances of feelings come to us when we hear its sometimes melancholy notes.
Filling with fall fever, she fuses sky with terrain, flashing flames of persimmon.
Infatuated with her own imagination, she has ignited the world in iridescence.
Red, russet, and gold enrich our world; we behold her ravishing array of artistry.
Exquisite is her passion as she enraptures us. Everlastingly may she reign!
A Quintain About a Fall Poem
A contest that I got N/A in had inspired me
to write a new acrostic, and I did not want to stall.
Personifying autumn, I used some imagery
to portray the splendid beauty of fiery fall.
Of my last month’s poems, I felt it was the best one of them all.
Poem #1: N/A poem in the Autumn Fire Contest posted & judged 10/27/16

W ishful thinking that He would greet warmheartedly
O verjoyed when strong arms of love wrapped around
N umbed by surprise but lifted by love assuredly
D elighted that He could love even me when sins astound
E mbraced by a warm bright light out of this world
R endezvous with a Higher Power greater than I'd found
F illing full where the Soul was depleted and gnarled
U nburdened, uplifted, united and totally sound
L oved, loveable, absolutely healed emotionally, and grounded
Inspired by John Hamilton's Wonderful-Acrostic poem contest..

Jack Frost is a hoary mischievous fellow
A man with a penchant for autumn coloring,
Carrying buckets of paint: red, brown and yellow,
Killing crops and late-blooming flowers with a zing!
Frozen toes and noses are Jack’s big delight.
Racing through towns and fields, he leaves us winter frost.
Once you have met him, you will not forget his bite!
Snow, sleet and ice he brings before the night is lost.
Then you awake to see his art in morn’s first light.

A n ABECEDARIAN poem could prove my most daunting undertaking
B othersome whispering in my ear were the likes of Frost, Fallon and Dickerson
C alling out to me incessantly by name
D id I not recognize the potion that was stirred would cause me to reject my name
E ncouraged only by the ink of my pen
F irst I must be preposterously patient
G liding my pen across the page, I invented a ELABORATE world of colorful words
H igh on top THE parallel UNIVERSE of poetry I began
I dentifying all difficulties essential to my cause
J ust to name a couple: the importance of using particular words and misusing others
K illing time instead of killing rhymes
L ine by line by line
M ighty is this feat which I have incurred
N ot nearly done I've stumbled upon a conundrum
O utstanding accomplishment, an actual 26 LETTERS
P oetry for me is at times quite perplexing
Q uizzing myself intelligently to respond compliantly
R esponsible to none other except my own verbs, adjectives etc.
S eriously, an insurmountable mother of all conundrums is all but solved
T otally harrowing journey to the MAXIMUM
U nder the disguise of cruel effort I EMERGED THE BETTER
V arious poets with magical discipline may have been even more successful than I
W ords have played a persistent and flirtatious game of trickery where I am the victor

Y ou can be certain I will probably never attempt this trial again
Z ealously the conclusion has mercifully arrived at my PLEADING

Whitecaps, buoyant pearled sea snow;
Overhead crimson-coral clouds bend low
Nourishing earthbound beauty starving souls
Desperate to fill the inner hole.
Eloquently, nature's hymns to God abound,
Rising in waves of color, light and sound,
Filling the gaping wound in my breast,
Uplifting me in God's perfect rest:
Love's evidence brings healing profound.

When I held you in my arms for the very first time,
Overjoyed that my baby boy was simply sublime.
New life that I had pushed into the world,
Darling son, oh how my emotions whirled.
Every day brought us something new,
Recording every moment as you grew.
Filling our lives with laughter and joy,
Unconditional love for our beautiful boy.
Love you forever my wonderful son.

Blessed birthday to my dearest eldest brother. This poem is dedicated to you, my best kuya, Manong Rudy. I believe that by the grace of the Lord, you can declare this testimony:
Rejoicing* am I in God’s love
Overwhelming me through His compassion
Driving my spirit for good works’ performance
Opening to me opportunities to praise Him joyously
Leading my steps toward good success
Filling me with blessings to share
Offering His grace for triumphant pursuits…
Assured by the Word of the Almighty with heavenly confidence
Guarded by His presence with steadfastness
Upheld by His mercy and truth
Settled in His care as with faith I trust His power.
Taught to serve as His faithful steward with my family
I am so blessed, verily grateful…
Now and forever praising Jesus Christ, my Saviour and Lord.
*Philippians 1:26 That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ.

Dear Manong Rudy,
A very blessed happy birthday to you. God be praised and thanked for your life. It’s my prayer that the Lord will constantly bless you, and your family as you continue to become a blessing to others. I’m so blessed to have you as my big brother. I love you, Manong.

ROTTWEILLER
R eady to serve
O pen to kindness and understanding
T otally dedicated and devoted
T olerating only one true master
W illing to learn
E ver faithful
I mmense heart filled with love
L onging only to be loved as he loves you
L oyal and accepting to the end of his days
E xacting in his duties giving what he thinks is expected from him
R ottweiller - A good dog but not for everyone.
The Rottweiller is probably descended from the Italian Mastiff during the Middle Ages
and was originally used as a herding dog.
It was bred in the German town of Rottweill.
It has a massive, powerful body, powerful scissors type bite and dark brown eyes
with an expression of quiet good will and loyalty.
His personality is nervous around others but tranquil, brave and obedient with his
family. He is easily trained with someone who knows what they're doing and has
great desire to please. If he knows what is expected of him that's exactly what you
will get. HE IS A NO NONSENSE DOG and becomes vicious if he thinks he or his master
is in danger. He will give his life in the protection of his master or his master's property.
He is used as a herd dog, in police work, and as a watch dog and body guard.
Extremely affectionate but NOT the dog for everyone.
He needs a master with common sense, not some idiot who wants to beat him into
submission. NO DOG NEEDS THAT!!
THEY HAVE AN INNATE NATURE TO BE CLOSE TO SOMEONE.
DOGS ARE PACK ANIMALS AND NEED TO BE PART OF A PACK OR FAMILY .
IF NOT THEY SUFFER HORRIBLE MENTAL ANGUISH.
DOGS LOVE COMPLETELY AND NEED THAT LOVE RETURNED.
THEY ARE THE NOBLEST OF SLAVES.

Craving to be back where I belong
Only place my heart breaks into song
Memories come flooding through my mind
Imitating days I left behind.
Nowhere in the world I'd rather be
Guess that's why you're always home to me.
Been to many places far and wide
And I've missed your presence by my side.
Catching planes and working till I'm through
Killing time till I get back to you.
Hope it won't be long before we meet
Only you can make my life complete.
Missing you each day that we're apart
Even though you're ever in my heart.
(I had a country-style tune in my head writing this with a pause of 3 extra beats at the end of each line)
