Best Hunt Down Poems

Premium Member I Cannot Say

I cannot say how poems come to be-
from just one thought to full reality.

I cannot say how I hunt down my words
to image themes like nature, flowers, birds.

Or then select a form to fit the theme;
be it free verse, haiku, or rhyming scheme.

Or count the syllables for metered flow;
select the feet of two or more to show

a rhythm, smooth or anapestic dance
to make the words behave or wildly prance.

Or think I'm done, but then see that I'm not;
to then rewrite and add what I forgot.

From just one thought to full reality-
I cannot say how poems come to be.

Preterition is a poetic technique: drawing attention to
something by claiming to omit it, but then really defining it
by actually saying what you claim you cannot say.

Nature Kills For Its' Survival Only

Nature Kills for Survival Only! ©

Great animal and man species hunt to kill
They are mighty 'Kingpins' in want for more gamely bites
Mastered forces in ungodly ‘uproar’ hunt down for food for its very survival against becoming extinct
Animals born to kill are instilled from birth
Men are taught to be 'warriors'' for their power feeds
Existence is ruled by the majority of the fittest
Creature numbers have dwindled down
Natural habitat is declining
As when 'marked' for human territory
Nature’s kingdom for once has become unbalance

Mankind’s kin mind their own affairs
But will always 'defend' and over indulge
In their religions, colour and creeds
They make deadly weapons for their armies
As power is gained through might!

She 'sets' species are laddered in her kingdom
Reason being as a ‘food chain’
All made to be feed to the next below
And with Nature’s careful ‘culling’ pact
The old and sick are replaced with young.

Grouped amoeba are meant to multiply
And throughout time a balance has been in effect
She rules without question and she watches
She feeds, mates and renews all species
But does not man’s thirst to reign with brute force
Show in the true blood red victor’s streamers?
Look everywhere something or someone is dying!

Amidst the Fog

I slept in a blanket tight
In a winter's dead of night
Next day i woke up for a jog
in the woods amidst the fog
mist was here
mist was there
mist was all around
i wore the jacket
and begun the racket
to hunt down the lure profound
in each breath i vomited haze
my torch was giving off a blaze
In the shivering cold
the naughty winds gave me a hold
of the christmas waiting to come
the more area i uncovered
the more area comes covered
still i continued to jog
amidst the foggy fog

Ghost Rider

Signed a contract, the devil is a liar
Just to save a loved one,
                                                   Now I'm baptized in fire
Alone i trail blaze the night
                          Hair of fire,
                         Skull burning bright
Cruising a few hundred miles per hour,
              Mounted on my hell cycle
       I am the vengeful rider
Don't you dare look into my eyes!
                                                                    If you do
I will see through your lies
                              I hunt down the wicked
                                            Into the dead of night
                                                        Armed with a flaming chain,
Do you really want to fight?
              I am the HELL biker
Just try and fight the fire
                                            Johnny Blaze is the name
                               Vengeance unquenchable,
                                                                   This fire
                                                                          Forever remains untamed
So don't you dare look into my eyes .....Go ahead, Just try to give me the evil eye, If you dare to DIE!

Dog Master

By

Kevin L Fairbrother

Fifty dogs all different in size and shape
Impossible to tell the type of breed, mate
All the dogs have a discriptive and unique name
Irene, knows them all, for none are the same
…

Only Irene can handle and work this team of dogs
They trust and respect her in the paddock, bush and bogs
Their home in the bush a stone throw from the house
Made of tin, steel and hollow logs free of louse

…

Heading, gathering or pushing in the paddocks
In the yard, on the sheep's back, the dogs are no hicks
Commands yelled out amid the noisy barking
The dog master Irene gets the job done, she is king

…

The hounds on the hill get excited and start baying
The rousers stretch their leads in the air they spring
The horse all saddled, the men go forth with guns
Time for a Kangaroo hunt down by the creek run
…
The dogs search for sheep on the plains and hills
They gather, they drive never fearing the terrain or spills
In weather of heat, snow, cold winds or driving rain
They push the mob towards their master, Irene
…
The sheep yard-ed the dogs job is done
Head for home, horse, rider and dogs as one
All the dogs patted when the chains done up
Given a feed of kangaroo and water to warm-up
…
Snug in their kennels, worn out and asleep
Oblivious to the howling wind, cold and sleet
The dogs resting for their work is never done
As their master, Irene heads home on the run

Premium Member Love Hunter

I will not give in to DEFEAT. I WILL forever roam the GLOBE searching for a LOVE I have never KNOWN. I HUNT fiercely without RETREAT. I know nothing except the
hunt. I HUNTED HIGH then on I traveled. With discontent and SOLEMNNESS I moved.I
Have hunted so long., My SOUL is weary, my feet are strong. I must continue on this
EPIC hunt forgetting how it had begun.
I HUNT, I HUNT, I HUNT down my throat I swallow bits of bitter ATMOSPHERE. There
Is no epic resolve only delusion and self pity. Could it be, MY LOVE dwelled here.
I pondered for endless hours without replete. I tiredly resigned for hours.

Even in my DREAMS the hunt proceeded. I lay in my SLUMBER haunted and hoping for. The RESOLVE I could not CAPTURE in my waking hours.
I had risen from my REST to the greeting of one FLAMING BEAUTY and a sunny MORNING. I will no longer be hindered by hunger or the need to FRATERNIZE. For this reason I had tea with BEAUTIFUL stranger. Only to RECOGNIZE that this stranger was
My GRAND PRIZE. I spoke at length, mentioning the CRUCIBLE, of dragons and demons I fought. I said "I indulged FRIGHTFUL barbarians to sit and speak with you".
The end of a LIFE I HAD ENDURED ALL ALONG, SAT BEFORE ME with cakes and tea.

I have searched the DESERT RANGE. No flag of SURRENDER at the BARREN PLAINS. AT LAST THIS STUNNING MORNING has begun. The ESSENCE of my being has
Found ONE OPEN DOOR. I SHALL HUNT NO MORE.

In springtime the rabbits in our canyon
                                  Produce with prolific abandon
                                      Our dogs take up chase
                                     To hunt down post haste
But never can catch up or bag one.

My Orion

No matter how high I jump I
can't reach u.
I love u so much but u
wouldn't digest this because of
the other little stars that try to
have my light to at least
shine.
They were falling in the
blackhole.
Remember the blackhole
absorbs all the light like
drowning man trying to
destroy.
In my world everything is
about u, even the big dipper
points to U.
u're the brightest Rigel, u light
my life.
Whether I'm north or south
u're visible everywhere, that's
why my mind is programmed
to U.
There may be 7 shiny stars but
they can't be u, Orion.
Only u have the distinctness to
appeal to my exciting view.
Trust me, my eyes stay on u all
through the night no one can
beat that.
And if staring at other stars
makes me loose u, hunt down
insecurity
Because u're incomparable
with no competition and I love
none like u.
Nonetheless, I'm ready to
accept November to April isn't
the whole year,
One day u'll no longer be
there and if destiny has it,
I'll take a place in the sky with
u
some day.

Premium Member Vote For Me

I would like to announce my candidacy,
and I would appreciate it if you would all vote for me.
I want to be Your President. Vote For ME.
If I were your president, do you know what I would do?
Protect each and every single one of you.
Vote For Me. Vote For Me.
I would not only share with all of you,
the very scary, very real truth,
about how a New World Order wants to enslave all of you.
I will not only protect all of you day and night,
I will go after those global bankers with all of my might,
For All Of You I Will Relentlessly Fight. Vote For Me.
All who have served under them, committing their crimes
against humanity and treason I will all hunt down in time.
I will hunt them all down and prosecute every single one of them.
Vote For Me. Make Me Your President.
I Promise All Of You I Will Bring Back Our Once Very Great Land.
or die trying should my life end by the hand of an assassin.
Vote For Me. Vote For Me.
I Want To Serve All Of You As Your President. Vote For Me.

Space Rock Climber

Space Rock Climber was born to the void
On an asteroid named for its ores and metals
Orbiting the sun one year after another
Morning never comes
Day never breaks
Silence goes on forever dead

A 10 year old son abandoned by parents
Who moved back to their home planet, Earth
The boy climbs rocks for a living on a rock

Food ran out two years ago
The climber turned to stones and minerals
Surviving on dirt sustenance alone

Rocks stay in place forever with their flavor
Easy to hunt down in craters

Black skies scream at the stars
Lack of atmosphere, depleted air
Low oxygen, no spare tanks, parental lies
Laid out on the platform of dark horizons

No one lives for long in outer space
Parents should not leave their children all alone
Like so much liter waste and weightlessness
He forgot their names
Embraced the great beyond as his domain

They had no room on board the ship they said
If only he were a little lighter
Perhaps he would fit between the gold and silver
Shipments of such commodities are revered

Rock climber has no name
It is not needed in this environment
Temperatures run from the sun
From hot to cold as is expected
Climate fluctuates that way in space
The young man stays the same
Stands on solid ground
Time sets no limits on the day
As the asteroid tumbles on
No doubt it has directions figured out

A barren rock is not a proper home
If he could remember, he would forget
It's for the best
Abandonment is not healthy for the mind

Mom and dad left him minors tools
Smiled and gave advice
They told him to climb high ridges
And wave good-bye

It is a trial out in space
Cry’s go unheard and serve no purpose
The vacuum of the void defines survival
This is the only world he knows

Rock Climber goes up the granite inclines
To find minerals for his soul
He grows too old to work
Then something happened

As luck would have it a collision just occurred
An asteroid hit his little world
Hurled him and his rock back home
Finally he would see the Earth
Enter the atmosphere in a hurry
Just in time to tell his mom and dad
Don't worry! Don't burn alone!
I'm here so we can have a blast together

Laughing Dog

I met a dog with big mouth
it closed its eyes and laughed
it was because I had beard
when it turned around
its curved horn was gone
the big mouth was sliced
a cat cut the horn, sliced mouth
“No more laughter, no smiling
every action must be cruel,
I must hunt down the cat
and bark at men in darkness”,
dog confessed.

Silver Sorrows

Aroused the sun today, shinning with a gloomy creed

lighting earth with golden beams; greeting that dying breed

finding no cloud nor block excusing the long stay away

the night had gone past; what came after is a beautiful day

the clouds will come and cover the sun once again

for some is joy; to others, misery and pain

awaiting the drops with warmth and passion

for the little glittering tears of sky to be flashing

tears of the past and the joy of today

touching your face; driving destiny away

grab hold to the state of your inside rather quick

the choice of rain is not for you to pick

"cheer up" be happy, enjoy the silver sky view

before the golden offer takes it all away from you

let the sky cry it out upon your shoulder

or a day will come on you to be older

and you will miss that over-heavenly bless

be hunt down every single day like a curse

hear me out; listen to my advice

for a wise fellow; won’t get bitten twice.

Fear V/S Dream

What is it that I fear? when things are bright clear

Maybe dreams those so dear; fail to come near

Dream akin to concubine; Shy on eyes wide open

Will ever be mine; like crown on head shine

In midst of confusion, I lay lonely on horizon,

To hunt down illusion, and implore inspiration

To conquer denunciation, of dreams I so realize

And cloaked in audacity; to sterile my fear entirely

In solitude I shall cherish; the scars of past fear

Still my dreams unbridle; like unbound lover

Enticingly fail to ebb, vigorous in pride

Had no doubt with glittering hope, dawn will arise

Moments

I wish I could write the prints of the moments
The beautiful times we spent in comments
Our nights meant nothing to the exalted pleasure
For your words were lights' flood without measure.

The simple talks we never had hard to share
The mere moments where your little sparks a big care
The life in your seemingly angered love
And your sleep in the tranquility of a dove.

The time we sat and sang together
And the rhythm of your voice that fine- tuned better
The melodies we both came to hate
And the song that hunt down our hearty state.

These moments liquidly shut in
The clouds are gathered in me and now 'tis the rain
I want to dream and yet not in a sleep
A chance to favourably dreamily peep.

The moments we held hands and cried
Like a wedding disgraced by the absence of a bride
For a change of heart and etching a refresh
Old to new and we began afresh.

Shout this moment, I plead you tell
Proud victors and sure with a yell
I know this is sure a true moment, so true
It is good better best to be two.

A Wolf and a Dove

A white mope of peace,
The dove flew to the East of Greece.
To meet the only one that mattered,
To reconcile whatever had shattered.

She had seen a shadow howl under the full moon,
The voice so deep that she wanted to see the creature soon.
The sight turned her into a puddle of goo,
And she decided- it was the wolf that she wanted to woo.

She introduced herself with a heart melting chirp
He had just nodded, but that didn't shatter her hope.
She'd stay up till midnight
Only to witness the jaw-dropping sight.

One day he finally gave in
And told her he was an alpha, with a proud grin.
They started to go out and know each other better,
When they were away, they's lovingly post a letter.

But one night the wolf lost his mind
And hunted down a dove without rewind.
Only then did he realise where he stood
And planned to keep his dove away from him. It hurt him to do it, but he knew it would.

The wolf knew he wasn't good for her
He'd lose himself in his hunger
He thought she won't be safe in the beast's cave
But the dove wasn't as naive.

She just wouldn't take the hint
Her eyes never lost their innocent petite glint.
She wasn't ready to let him go just yet,
She didn't want to be proved just another pet.

So the wolf gave her a little show
Called her over three days in a row.
He'd hunt down birds and bring out the beast
But the dove being her, wasn't bothered in the least.

He now decided to go for the only way he could, to keep her safe
With his head held high, sauntered out of the cave.
He grabbed her friend and dove in with a roar, his eyes darkening in colour
As the dove stood spellbound, watching in horror.

The two hearts never met again
They lost their soils 'cause they used their brain
They had their chance but they threw it away
Only to conclude at the end of every day
That he was a wolf and she was a dove
And some people are just not made for love...
