Best Happy New Year Poems
So far I've done everything I could possibly do this year.
I've given thorough thought to cleaning up my act.
These early-day hours have been rough-house
The storm shudders inside me are all grimy, they need tending to,
I just need to find them first.
So tired from last night,
Riding unicorns through the stars.
(No one believes me.)
Trouble is we're all blinking too fast for our own good as it is.
I've done everything I've promised to do this year, so far,
And I haven't even made the promises yet.
That's how interesting I've been lately.
You have no idea how hard it is to be this interesting.
Riding Bellyglow through the thrushes of song birds...
I probably don't know, either.
What a bucket of letters this is.
Thanks for Peking, thanks for Hong Kong.
Happy New Year.
At midnight, surrounded by those who are dear,
Countdown is over; champagne has been chilled
The bells are now ringing...a Happy New Year!
Bottles are popping, the glasses are filled
We’re singing together with hugs and a tear.

Have a year when dreams come true
Ascend to the top of the mountain
Prayer for success in all you do
Place your coin in the fountain
You will find all you’re looking for
Nothing will hold you back
Each day you will treasure more
Wonders are right on track
You will shine and you will fly
Everything will fall in place
Amazing days will make you sigh
Rejoicing in abundant grace.
Happy New Year
H aving shelter and the means to keep ourselves
A live doesn’t seem like much to ask, yet many
P eople strive just to pay the rent and somehow keep their
P oor kids fed. Whatever can we say to those who
Y earn for just a bed?
N ow I sit and wonder why we simply don’t
E volve! All the problems that exist, only
W e can solve.
Y es, a New Year’s coming, and I hope we will
E mploy helpfulness for those in need. Let’s bring them love
A nd joy! In this world of woe, we need to be a
R ay of light, glowing, ever glowing though the world seem dark as night.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Retreated forever to the nest of the past
Last year’s bird leaving memories to last
The winter, the spring, the summer, the autumn
Left itself enriched with experience and wisdom
It tasted sweet berries and nestled in peace
And at times got bitter nuts and sting from bad bees
While leaving it tweeted in ears of its new little bird
A message to be grateful and chirp sweetest word
This new year’s bird flapping its tiny new wings
New greetings , new celebrations, new joy it brings
Its in infancy perched on the tender tree-sprig
Learning to tap its feet to the new life’s jig
Little eyes so curious filled with new hope
New choices, new chances, new chum in its scope
Showers of blessings and plenty of love pouring in
To realize all dreams and tread in right path to win!

May you always walk in sunshine
May all your dreams come true
May happiness always be your partner
May your lover always woo you
I was a child of the 60’s— I marched for peace and love…if I recall
which is why I have a Pablo Stanley poster with his interpretation of my favorite song, Imagine, hanging on my wall…
John Lennon released Imagine on September 9th, 1971…and every January I like to revisit it…as a new year has begun.
As one year ends it’s human nature to look back on the world we see…
then look ahead and try to imagine the world as we’d like it to be.
In 2021 we saw people still dying from a pandemic…as well as on our streets…we saw entire groups of people in the world and in our country still oppressed…
We saw natural disasters, people going hungry…
we saw social upheaval and political unrest.
So I like to imagine a world brimming with balance, equality and symmetry…
where we embrace instead of recoil from our differences…
where we all live free…in peace and harmony.
I imagine a world no longer filled with hungry men, women, girls and boys…a world where we look our sorrows in the face…and turn them into joys.
Perhaps you think I am a dreamer…looking for a world that can’t be found…but I say you are wrong…we can make this happen…all you have to do is look around.
For every story of prejudice and bigotry…amid the sadness and despairing…we find examples of acceptance and respect for one another…of love and generosity… and caring.
For every robbery…every crime…every time an Earth’s resource is depleted…somewhere in the world a tree is planted…a random act of kindness is completed.
For every country fighting wars…for every bomb that they release…there are people coming together in the name of unity and peace.
For every untimely death that sends ripples of sorrow across the Earth…there are ripples of joy that emanate from a newborn baby’s birth.
So you see the proof is all around us…we can change the fate of we the people…and of this planet we are living on…we just need more voices…more dreamers…like me and John.
Dreamers coming together to make our world a better world than it ever was before…
So we won’t have to look back every January and imagine it be different anymore.
I will surely have a happy New Year
If someone stops stepping into my life
Forcing me to do that I don't expect to
Asking me to speak that I don't want to
I don't want to be interrupted a bit with
My dear life, as quietly as a wild animal
And as common as nothing to show off
My heart accepts only the orders of defined rules
No matter they could bring in feelings warm or cool
I will have a happier new year by having a quiet life
Offering me freedom to listen the season's footsteps
I have met some wonderful people on SoupVille Lane.
Without this extraordinary and fantastic poetry
community, our paths may have never crossed.
I just want to let you all know (you know who
you are). Who has supported me continuously on my poetic journey.
That I don't take your support and friendship lightly.
Especially during these difficult times. Being away from family can be so sad and depressing.
I log into the soup and find laughter, inspiration, encouragement, and kindness. Just having you in my corner has meant the world to me.
Some may say friendships such is this isn't real,
I beg to differ. What is friendship?
Opening yourself up to another, being your true authentic self, I have done that with some of
you and I consider you a friend.
One thing about friendship is, you have to be
a friend to gain a friend.
Some friends go deep, and some don't,
but my (soup) friends, we have poetry in common, and I feel we are friends because of our shared love of poetry.
With that being said, is this place perfect? No
Because we have feelings and feelings get in the way.
But we should strive to be respectful no matter what. If I come off as preachy, I apologize; the things that I express, I say to myself first and foremost. Just sharing my insight and personal reflections. I know 2020 has been bad for us all.
I hope and pray, 2021 is much better. Happy New Year, my soup friends:-) Alexis

Orchid blooms in soothing light,
New year's hope shining so bright.
Elegant petals unfold,
As hopes and dreams take strong hold.
Their fragrance, gentle perfume,
Bringing joy as the year blooms.
In this new year start we find,
Beauty and growth intertwined.
A year of promise and cheer,
Orchids swish, "Happy New Year!"
Happy New Year, friends of the net
Your words uplift my soul
I love you though we’ve never met
Your presence makes me whole
Tied by a common bond
Of you all heart’s grown fond
With cape of soul search donned
Love you, my dear
Happy New Year

Another year is complete with its ups and downs,
Another chapter written, a page turned over,
Times when we maintained composure or had breakdowns,
Now it's time for a significant changeover,
Hearts filled with gratitude, we look up to heaven,
Thanking God for the blessing of His living breath,
Each disappointment was a refreshing lesson,
Each achievement taught us of His guidance in depth,
Now we look forward to a bright, new beginning,
Forgetting the past and reaching for the future,
Praying for a prosperous start, we are singing,
Thanking for today and hoping next year's SUPER,
This last day of 2025, we stand here,
Looking unto Jesus Christ, this year we embrace,
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!!
May God bless you with His benevolence and grace!!!

The ocean's fog and mist so wide,
High tide indifferent, no confide,
Surf's ups and downs in rhythmic dance,
Sweeps all on its watery expanse.
New Year's visions in uncertainty's haze,
Time's march indifferent in mysterious ways,
Success and failure, life's dual ride,
In the misty shroud, they coincide.
Waves' frothy silk on sea crests blue,
Optimism triumphs, shadows eschew,
Human hearts in hopeful cheer,
Pessimism in darkness disappears.
Beautiful waves in song and play,
Defy the gloom, hold sway,
Aspirations and hearts aglow,
Wish all a Happy New Year's flow.
