Best Haitians Poems

Split In Two

One island;
one people, two nations
Dominican Republic
Haiti
An island split in two
by European colonialism,
a most vile economic mechanism
One part of the island
was controlled by France
The other part of the island
was controlled by Spain
The saddest part of this deal,
is that those two separate people are the same
Split in two
by a nationalistic name
Some be Haitians,
some be Dominican Republicans
One island;
one people split in two
Posterity's children will ask:
which one are you?

Haiti - Blood of Africa

Copyright © 2015

Royal blood from afar,
far from Africa,
Africa a torn and raped
land by European hands

First land of freedom to rise,
but segregated by a mountainside
and corrupt politicians on both
sides by greed and neglect, when all
anyone needed was love and respect

Respect yourselves, and expect to rise
great Nation, surpass their creation
with the help of other Nations

Bond and build, build, build your
land, a land for your people to
stand, stand and deny others to
rape and kill, kill only that
which for your stomachs to fill,
train Haitians with skill

A Haitian Police to instill and
maintain peace Haitians see,
see with Haitian eyes, not
another European disguise,
once demised, but not despised
by HIM on High, hold your head
high, HE will not deny

Haitians, prepare your Nation for
this great blessing, and declare
your royal blood from afar, once
was and still can be, a global Star

Premium Member For Haiti (Beatlemania)

For John Heck's Beatlemania competition. To the tune of "For No One" from the Revolver
album.

The day fades, the earth shakes
The Haitians find their homes no longer stand as families fear their future

They struggle through rubble
To find survivors, loved ones who've succumbed quietly to nature's violence

And in their eyes we see despair
No spark of hope behind the tears shed for victims
So many lives lost in tremors

They want help, they need ours
And so we dig through empty pockets struggling to find scant resources

And in our eyes they see empathy
In tears we promise to do what little we can offer
To ease a pain that knows no end

We stay home, we watch them
The TV shows such agony that all are moved to send their prayers and sympathy

A day breaks, our hearts ache
Such turmoil spills upon the screen and we reach out to help our Haitian brothers

And in God's eyes they are children
As are we all now joined in hearts and in sadness
Rebuild this nation with His help

Precious Haiti

Precious Haiti

Haiti sounds like hate I
Rhymes with Baby doc
And Papa doc

Feels like
Made in USA
But Unlike the Mariel Boatlift
The people are excluded from
Entering

Black
Dark
White teeth
African
Looking
French and Creole speaking
People

Haitians
Unwanted

Haiti
Shook the world
Fought and won
A great war
Against the French
But this black
Revolution
This first black republic
Like a white’s man rabbit’s foot
Like a white’s voodoo
Back fired

On Haiti
Because they
Paid
Reversed Reparation
For 100 years

An earthquake
Rocked Haiti

The world yawned

An earthquake
Rocked Haiti

The world
Announced the seismic
Reading

Minutes ago
Haiti sat on a wall
Haiti had a great fall

And like Humpty Dumpty
All the King’s horses and All the King’s men
Couldn’t put aside their hate and indifference
To put Haiti back together again…..

Haiti My Nation

Haiti my mother no beauty comes close to yours. You
who gave me pride, you who gave me strength to seize everything that is
possible in life. You are now at your weakest point only to prove to
all that strength is not about size but it's only the bond that binds
your children together. I am forever grateful to call you mother, I
am forever proud to call you my home land of birth. I am forever proud
to be born and grew up next to you; I am forever looking forward to
one day return to you. Who am I to be without you, for you are my birth
stone, who am to be if you didn't strengthen me to face my adversary,
who am I to be if you didn't build me to have so much pride in my heart,
you thought me to never allow people to walk all over me.
You thought me to be proud of whom I am.
Seen you struggling don't bring tears to my eyes but only put hope and courage in my heart for
the best is yet to come. Though there is pain and sadness in your children's eyes we all want you
to know you are our heart and what keeps us going. To quote one of your greatest line
l'unio fait la force. Many might believe we forget what's that stand for as we
are look today in our times of need your sons and daughters can never
forget what is engrave in their blood for we all forever remain
Haitians; as we come together to support each other to pray together we
thank you dear mother. We Haitians are grateful and proud to call you
ayiti Cherie. We are not mad even though we are sad. And in our sadness we
shall find strength and courage to move forward for a better future.

Premium Member Haitian New Year's Poetrysoup Joumou

Bon appétit to all my fellow Haitians and friends,
Who will be drinking, sipping, savoring poertysoup joumou,
Which is made of squash, neck bones, macaroni, oxtails,
Carrots, yams, celery, parsley, and countless vegetables.

This is a powerful, yet historical soup,
With a strong message. This tradition
Started after the Battle of Vertières,
When the Haitian Army defeated the French.

Haiti fought and won its Independence,
On January 1st.1804 in Gonaives, Haiti,
And became the first Black Republic
In the world. Believe me, this is amazing.

Poetrysouo joumou symbolizes Respect, Freedom,
Independence, Peace, Equality and Liberty. It stands
Against slavery, bigotry, racism, unfairness, injustice,
White supremacy, nepotism, inequality and prejudice.

Our Haitian ancestors could not consume such a delicacy
Before, where only the Colonists, the Affranchis
Or the Freedmen could enjoy. The defeat of Gen. Rochambeau
By General J.J.Dessalines had changed the entire scenario.

Please join all Haitians throughout the world by drinking,
Eating and savoring 'soup joumou', the Haitian squash soup,
On the first day of every year. Celebrate in memories of strong men,
And women who fought for Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.

Please read the history of the mysterious island of Haiti,
To enhance your knowledge of the world's history.
The Haitian People, in spite of constant internal fights,
Are strong, resilient, friendly, funny and intelligent.

Premium Member Let Haiti Be Absolutely Free

Let Haiti be absolutely free
Haiti is the father of Freedom and Liberty
Haiti is the first nation to forever ban or abolish slavery
And the slave trade in the western hemisphere
And in the world
The first to practice absolute equality
Among men and women on this sphere
And throughout the world
Stop meddling and interfering detrimentally with Haiti
Leave Haiti alone to be absolutely free
Haiti is the first nation to dig up and plant the seed of freedom
For the world to unfortunately follow with pure hypocrisy
Haiti is the first country to denounce false democracy
Haiti is the first leader to choose martyrdom
The first oasis to defeat colonialism in the Americas
Haiti is where was born the first buzz of jazz
The first beat and cry of “We Shall Overcome”
Haiti is the first country that they tried to betray
Haitians are the first unsung Heroes to die for Liberty and Freedom
Thanks to Haiti that many people are living free today
Since Haiti had spread the incense throughout the world
“Live free or die; Freedom or Death”. Leave Haiti alone to live
They made Haiti poor, undesirable, dangerous and unsafe
By supplying weapons to knuckle heads, teenagers and youngsters
They damned Haiti with crazy terrorists, thieves, bandits and gangsters
In daylight, they tried to push Haiti down the steepest cliff
Yes, they robbed, looted, poisoned, and they miserably failed
To dwarf, to kill Haiti and his noble dreams after numerous invasions. Leave
Leave Haiti so Haiti can be Haiti, let Haiti swim as Haiti pleases
Regardless of what one hears
Haiti is a nice piece of land with smart and proud Nègres
And brave and valiant men and women with small and big toes
Who will fight and shed blood, sweat and tears
To defend Haiti Chérie. Give justice to Haiti by any means
And help Haiti getting rid of the ungrateful criminals and the vermins
Haiti will underwhelm, rise and rise again in the Caribbean Seas
Because Haiti is peaceful, patient, lovely, adamant and resilient
Haiti’s children are watching and they are highly intelligent.

N.B. By the way, Nègres like ******* is not offensive to us, Haitians, however, ‘nizzers’ is insulting.

Premium Member They Are Eating The Dogs

They are eating the dogs
They are eating the cats
They are eating the pets
They are eating the wild hogs.

In the early 20th “c”, Germans used to eat blockade mutton
That’s absolute truth. It’s a shame that this felon
Is desperate and going wild. The dude is a pathological liar
Who will do anything. He’s a tremendous cheater.

Immigrants do not eat the pets
Especially Haitians who love chickens
Tassot or griot meats, black rice and beans.

Haitians love Soup Joumou with lots of carrots
Haitians enjoy one of the best cuisines on the planet
Liar, liar, nobody is perfect. That’s correct.

Indirect

You say that I only can see the bad parts. You can tell by the rhyme that I wrote. If food you call good, was all that it should, why'd it have to be shoved down my throat?

Suppose I should tote

a dead scroll or an apochraphyctic lamb skin. Apocalyptic man skins, get walked on like crudely made danskins, and ever presence ever yields to ancient peasantry in fields. Will we ever get a shield from that son?

Will standing laws, or laws of nature, sanitize a mind set to statutory rape her, when she comes to my Mom's house in shorts?

Sanctified codifications, waxed melodic like the Haitians, remove the curses I hurl watching sports.

But what of the blade, be it metal or not, that slices skin, and pierces the chest?

Slice an apple open, and shove a hard candy in it. The harvest is over, and new winter soldiers shall propagate indirect witness.

Premium Member The Way My Mind Works

The way my mind works
may or may not be like yours
Yet I think there's something universal
here, in the proverbial pot to be stirred

My brain extrapolates from the smallest things
  to reach grandiose conclusions
Unjustified or not, to me they're no delusions...

Now look at that dumb Haitian cross the street
against the red light while he texts and tweets
All Haitians are like that, I'm sure you'll agree
the stupid jerks! -- Go back to Haiti, please

But you see that pretty Filipino right over there
helping an old lady cross the street with the utmost care
She's a credit to her family, to her people, to her nation
I'd just love to tour the Philippines on my next vacation...

Yes, the way my mind works may or may not be like yours
~ Perhaps holding my tongue would provide me a cure

So Poetic

The perplexity of my complexion
Is a God given blessin’
But many have been stressin’
Life’s annoying lessons
That’s in need of correction
But in no need of perfection
Due to the detection
Of affection
In my isolated section,
The convection
Of my teachings
Is telling others that cheating
Requires excessive beatings
And no need for greetings
But communications and meetings
For a love that’s leaking
Not knowing others are peaking
At a heart that’s bleeding,
Weight gain from eating
Heartache from seeking
Guidance from three kings
But joy is what He brings
Know that He brings Holy things,
Many interpretations
Of our situations
That you and I are both facing
Results in two hearts racing
No longer pacing
To live in this nation
Living for education
But difficult due to complication
Like a lack of concentration
Which causes frustration
Resulting in lyrical conversations
Ranging from my altercations to my temper’s escalation
Not in a slower but in a faster nation
But know that the Lord is my shepherd
And I’m in His pasture nation.
In fluctuation results in congregations
Which goes through separation
As a result segregation
Puerto Ricans and Haitians
All apart conversations
About which of the two will enter the 50 state nation.
All sparks from hateration
And also playerhation
But nobody knows
For whom we all should be waiting
Because we’ll feel that sensation
Of the heavenly initiations
With heavenly operations
Living with heavenly occupations
Heavenly organization
Made by His Heavenly creations
While the devil is getting impatient
And pissed off like urination
This poem has no formation
But I’m still lyrically lacing
Because this is the making
Of something So Poetic!!!!!

Premium Member Everybody Is Destroying Haiti

Everybody is destroying Haiti
Please stop, stop, and quit. Give the country
A rich autumn. Too many bandits, vandals
Too many thefts, lootings, too many crises and scandals
On this impoverished and exploited island
Give Haiti a chance to be and live better. Give our Land
A break with too much crimes, violence and injustice
Haiti needs real peace, real love and real justice
Why are all of you hurting Haiti so bad?
Haitians, please stop being so sad and mad
Haiti needs everybody's love and compassion
Please help Haiti in this time of destruction
Hate only knows how to burn, kill and destroy
Stop the rancor, put out the fire and bring joy
Haitians, wake-up to a new beginning and era
Get rid of the bad seeds and unite with the Diaspora
Unite to fight against corruption and waste of the aids
Be positive! Be ready to get rid of all sorts of plagues
Please stop the violence and use sheer common sense
Haiti needs a new and better season, a divine weapon
To defeat death itself, bad administration and corruption
Haitians, help our nation to be an oasis, a starry beacon
Unite to be better! Unite to help each other and to dance
Put more spices in the melting pot and spray more incense
Unite in this time of crisis; and reject death and violence.

Premium Member Deja Vu Racial Disparity

These are not events that took place very far in the past
These are obviously ongoing racial gaffes and contrasts
Where human beings are bombarded and mistreated
Where human beings are veraciously discriminated
Against, where politicians with supercilious smiles
And where election cheaters with camouflaged styles
Expel and reject Black people such as Africans and Haitians
And these same biased lawmakers welcome Ukrainians
With open arms, because Ukrainians are Caucasians
Because Ukrainians are Europeans and white
In your judicious eyes, is this right?
Black people are human beings too
Haitians are people too
Africans are people too
Ukrainians are people too
Are White human beings people too?
Please say something. Please write something
Please utter something. Please sing something
Singing ‘We shall overcome’ is insufficient
Not enough. You call yourselves ‘Christians’
Pour more Tetrahydrozoline HCL 0.05% in your eyes
In order to see clearly that the moon is not circled with hollow pies
From afar or from space, all humans are infinitesimally congruent
All human beings have red blood in their veins
And all humans are jam-packed with flaws and sins
Moreover there exists neither white blood, nor black blood
Blue blood is originating from chasmal whims, far from abroad
Fair-minded Readers ponder
And conscious minded Poets wonder
Apparently, Republicans are pushy and obvious
And Democrats are wishy-washy and dubious
Human beings must not be chased by wild horsemen
All humans must be welcome by clergy men and women
Anywhere on Earth
The Globe is everybody’s turf.
