Best Graceland Poems
Hair black as snow's
An awkward crooked.
Smile, to boot his stiffer
Upper lips of red wine.
His gorgeous swagger,
Lingered all the young
Girls battle to snuff
About. Songs of the KING of rock n' roll
Love me tender, jailhouse rock,
Girl happy, Frankfort special,
Blue Hawaii, g.i. Blues. Ect.
His voice left you wanting
More ELVIS PRESLEY,
GRACELAND is the true,
KING of ROCK N' ROLL.
His music will NEVER DIE:
It's an inspiration that will,
And has lasted a decade entirely
Forever.

Elvis...Has Left The Building
I've got Graceland on my mind
A place frozen in time
Adorned with a love
I've never known
I need to be in the place
Where Elvis called home
I want to laugh in the lemon lounge
And visit in the jungle room
Graceland don't change a thing
I want to get lost in the home of the king
I've got Graceland on my mind
It's where i want to be
I've got Graceland on my mind
It feels so sweet to me
I've got Graceland on my mind
It's where i need to be
I've got Graceland on my mind
It feels so real to me
I want to sit on that long leather couch
And dream all my troubles away
Graceland wait for me
I'm leaving today
It's where an icon once lived
A place where dreams come true
It's where life can still be found
I'm going down to Graceland now
May we all gather at Graceland
To share in the dream
And on my way down to Graceland
I'll stop in on the Reverend Al Green
When Elvis Presley dreamed on high
All he wanted to do was fly
Like Priscilla's blue moon
He ballooned with each tune
And it sure made his mama cry!
A Visit to Graceland
By Elton Camp
Although Memphis is nearby
To visit Graceland I didn’t try.
Elvis wasn’t much older than me.
So his home I really should go see.
I followed the young tour guide.
“Stay together as we move inside.”
Critics call the house tacky as can be,
But it seemed quite luxurious to me.
No rightful criticism could I make.
In Elvis’ décor I saw no mistake.
I had no decorating advice to give.
It looks better than where I live.
“Now up these stairs is his private space.
The tour to go there would be a disgrace.”
The guide pointed on down the hall.
“On Jungle room, please make a call.”
I stared at the steps with eyes so wide.
“Up there’s where he lived and died.”
I stood alone at the foot of the stair.
Without any guard in charge to care.
Seeing a chance open to few,
I decided just what I would do.
While nobody was around,
Up the stairs with a bound.
In a large bedroom on the right,
Something gave me quite a fright.
“How do you dare to come up here?”
He asked in a voice shaky but clear.
He had a shock of dyed black hair,
But in places it was growing spare.
Then his great size next me astounds.
He must weigh three hundred pounds.
“Just who do you think you are?
Nobody’s allowed to come this far.”
I felt like I was about to faint.
Surely, Elvis the King that ain’t.
“Everybody thinks I died years ago
They must continue to think it’s so.
I can never be fat and old.
So that big lie I have told.”
“Your secret is safe with me,” I cry.
“Before I would tell it, I’d sooner die.”
He looked at me with a trace of a grin.
“No way can you betray this has been.”
“Nobody would believe a story like that.
A claim you saw Elvis alive, old and fat.”
I realized it was all too true.
If I told it, the day I would rue.
Liar would become my name
For harming Elvis’ great fame.
“We know Elvis long ago died.
What type drugs have you tried?”
And right then I began to shake
Until it brought me wide awake.
My own bedroom I did then see.
In Memphis town I couldn’t be.
No matter how real it did seem,
It had been nothing but a dream.
But I didn’t really so much care
That it had only been a nightmare.
For if Graceland I ever visit for real
And find Elvis alive, I’ll never squeal.
Trim and handsome all want him to be.
No unfavorable image should they see.
I'm moving up to graceland
you know that mansion over the hilltop
to have just a little talk with jesus
for I don't knock upon his doors
for I know the gates swing open
how great thou art
that we're blessed
in the wonderful grace of jesus
for it's written in red
as I was made a christian
and saw the light while
strolling down beulual lane
out in the sunshine
dear father in heaven
we all can do good
something beautiful
even a whispering hope
sitting down by the old rugged cross
take my hand
precious lord
don't leave me crying in the chapel
move me to your higher ground
crossing the river of jordan
fill my cup lord
to let me rise again
for without you I haven't got a prayer
so please take me as I am jesus
for I'll remain tried and true
for I know there's somebody bigger than you or I
in this wonderment of thy amazing grace

There is land called grace
given by the death of one man
to pay for the trespass of many
so entry to this land all who will can
This entry is absolutely free
God's gift to those that trespass
for by one man's fall in sin
death has passed on this mass
But this man Jesus Christ
has grace for many to receive
for God His father gives it
to all on His son will believe
In Graceland you are welcome
to enjoy this wonderful grace
which came at a great price
to abound for many a face
AUTHOR NOTES: But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. Romans 5 v. 15 (ESV)
The auburn streaks glimish, causing a glare in my eye
As she tosses her hair over her shoulder, revealing her face
A masterpiece of gods creation, never again one alike
The orbs of her temple, baby blue, so beautiful
I want nothing more then for her orbs to be mine
For her to see what I see, to share the same views as I
To be together forever in a graceland of love
The cattails my love for her, and the bumblebees her love for me
The rays of sun on my skin, her loving trust she has for me
My feelings for her, nobody will truly know, eternal love deep within
Every loving inch of her body, perfect to my dream, a dream its not
A mere perfection art of grace she is, sent from above, reserved for my heart
My dreams have been waiting for this character to intervene
To play a role in my wildest adventures, to share my heart in this painted grace
land
Her delicate body, every curve so much an excitement, watching her walk
towards I
The sun setting this love scene, painting her every move, so beautiful, so
graceful
The anticipation overpowering, wanting, within arms reach, so peaceful
Her hips shaking left to right over and over as she glides through the field
“ I give you my heart, my soul, to bear within yours.” I say to my Annmarie, into the
wind
As it carries my loving voice into her ears, waiting for a response from this dream
“ I take it, and wrap my limbs around it, loving it for eternity.” She says back
A sudden burst of excitement rush through my veins, like an adrenaline
I pier into her orbs, like an endless view through a window, so beautiful
I wish to have her heart in the grasp of my palms, even if holding unto it as a favor
A tease, a mere tease like joke, I wish not unto my dream, but the factual truth
sometimes hurts
I want not to wake up from this dream, for fear a sight might never look as
beautiful
Never again will I love the same, I will love with a love that is more then love unto
my Annmarie
Unto this kingdom by the sea
