Best Glints Poems
My evening sky glints motifs gold
In orange vibes turned ruby bold
Glowing remnants of shining snow
Where pewter winds merrily blow
Swirling imprints of amber glaze
Bending hues of setting sun rays
Prairies sway season’s dreaded hold
Wailing in grief, as blossoms fold,
For fallen leaves and wintry woe
That shudders trees in frosted throe
While browning pastures cattle graze
Where foothills gleam in twilight haze
When fervor yawns in dreary mold
And garden sighs of parching cold
Pine trees, ebullient, dance in row
Enchanting hearts in nature’s show
While ogling the stars passions blaze
As romance blooms in moonlit gaze
On horizon mauve dreams unfold
Where blush of morn lovers behold
Greeting November's scarlet glow
That tawny dawn's sunbeams bestow
Glistening face of shortened days
Wooing warmth in autumn's malaise

Lay
A violent scene lay before me
Huddled in death, there’s Ella, Mary-belle, everywhere I could see
Swollen tongues, sunken eyes, frail bodies strewn in the hot powdery dirt,
I sniff the sharp stench of death, I catch my breath, swallow, stomach clenched, alert
Stark rocky outcrops, blister amongst the sharp needles of spinifex grass
Stones, sand and mica glints, ants scurry about their tasks
Red dirt, blue sky, sun bears down relentless upon the tin roof of the Station
Majestic hills, once coral reefs, the Chinamen pushed wheelbarrows up them, Dinosaurs, Indigenous people walked here long ago in my imagination
Soft bursts of purple feathery flowers of Mulla Mulla joyfully sway in the crisp air this morning, locked in the silent perennial embrace of that blue blue sky
Frivolous, dollies those desert girls, with their sweet smell and blush as I walk by
I think I’ll put a bullet in my head in that very spot
To die in such fine company, you make those tough choices on the land, easy as, why not
5,000 cattle dead, I’d cry, but there’s no more water in my eyes, in a blink, all gone so terribly wrong
I’ll sleep with my cows tonight, Ella, Mary-belle in the Mulla Mulla desert dreaming, on the land is where I was born and where I belong

Golden leaves of autumn delight
Where season flaunts hints of romance
Blazing passions of smitten sight
As themes chromatic swirl and dance.
Charming dreams of romantic eyes
Golden leaves of autumn delight
As twilight blushes on mauve skies
Lauding missives of zealous night.
While amber notions waltz in flight
Spurring thrill of flaxen meadows,
Golden leaves of autumn delight
As tunes of love heartbeats compose.
Crimson motifs gelid winds blow
Twirling, whirling, as they alight,
Where gilded canvas glints on snow
Golden leaves of autumn delight.

Dancing with the moonlight
there's a glisten to the air
fluffy flakes of goodness
filter here and there
a soft and peaceful feeling
your hand touches mine
captured by the beauty,
two souls just lost in time
There's roses in the window
I'll choose a few for you
so pure and fresh as daybreak
and a pleasure floating through
My gaze is with the star shine
glints of wonder cast your eye
I tilt your head, then kiss you
releasing feelings trapped inside

Evening finds ascension
on a red grouse wing;
the brilliant copper sky
fades to twilight beam.
It wafts the weathered flora
of a season’s ending term,
as young skylarks soundly sleep
in the nearby bracken fern.
The purple hue glints playfully
on a steep highland muir,
with lovers lying blythesome
on the fragrant heather floor,
their drunk love on crescendo
with a piper's distant drone;
sharing peat-whisky dreams
amid the summer’s final gloam.

Hereabouts the thinning glades
Of sparse grey Birches:
Brackens crisp copper tresses
All aglow;
Gently waking Snowdrops
Lift their sleepy heads
From leafy beds of woodland moil,
When tucked snugly up,
Out of intrusive sight and just
Below.
Fondly the slowing bend
Hugs upon the river...
Banked heavily with frosted
Bulrushes
That shifting breezes once did so
Stiffly blow;
The faltering current,
That sped the pied Dipper,
Patiently seeks out the quiet
Devotions
Of her beguiling flow.
When the drawing Moonlight
Gives way to purple Twilight
In the gloaming
Of Winters sharp days;
When the yellowy willows
Weep watery glints
Lingering and loitering...
Pining for long Summers slanted
Rays.
For far, far, high above
Over the old red-bricked mill...
Whose creaking sluice gurgles
With long melancholy sighs:
Heavens twinkling stars,
Held briefly in abeyance,
Partially obscured by thin veils of
Dull-leaden, magenta tinged skies.
Where the low horizons fall
And briefly meet the mornings
On heathered moor, open field,
And inland shore:-
Here beached boats dreaming
Of white crested waves;
Soon the keen plough will make
Ready
To score the deep furrows once
More.
Now our Lady Skadi,
Purest and resplendent,
Through driving sleet
And blinding blizzards will ascend -
Returning to aged fortress
Of eternal Utgard
Leaving her thawing snows
To dispel long Winters End!

A woman's soul, is it as porous
as the air that breaks the water and earth
apart from each other?
In the slither of liquid contours,
this maiden's essence blows into tiny
glints of filling days’ silent pages
without having to fill in the blanks.
But such fire in her navel;
swelling, leaping forth unto a black dahlia
of night dripping with all the kerosene stars
like a tigress on a hidden, sensuous prowl...
This is her shape.
Then coming from metal gut, she fumes
of musky-flavored energy, steaming
the brain for a war of poker in a den
filled with invincible men as she raises
the bets for a royal flush of aces...
This is her bullish time.
Yet, curling into late evening
she enters into the pillows
of her soul rinsed from the bouquet
and incense of a dulcet day,
her bosom of long breaths warming the lamp
gentle, temperate, and mild in peace,
coasting along the ledge of her swan sleep...
This is her soul's time, shape and peace.

Moonbeams fade from the depths of night
giving way to dawn's rays of light
Sunrise dries morning's tears of dew
but not mine of sorrow and grief
I search for comfort and relief
Solace in glints of life anew
Each day provides an empty page
where hope is a balm to assuage
and skies a lovely hue of blue

Soon after the sky had shed her liquid sorrow
When dark clouds quickly vanished
It turned immaculate, spotlessly blue.
As the cosmic hiss subsided
And the wind withdrew to its unknown hideout,
There was a hush- the hush that follows,
As the priest concludes his spirited sermon.
In that quiet, when dream and life coalesced
I saw the leaves trembling in the cold
Dragonflies performing a ballet in the air
Their wings catching glints of sunlight
Spiders moving round crystal studded webs,
Repairing the broken filaments of their gossamer
And birds from trees taking off into the sky
Enjoying a pervasive sense of peace
And my heart soaked in pure mirth
Humming the lyrics of a half forgotten song
I walked down through cobbled paths
Feeling the wetness beneath my feet,
To savor the beauty of Nature,
Newly bathed in the profuse vernal shower.
Suddenly the light blazoned,
Giving a golden glow to the leaves
And the suspended rain drops,
Glittered like sparkling gems.
Mesmerized by the beauty of the scene
There wobbled shiny silver droplets of joy
In my eyes too, struggling to be spilled out!

I rise when gilded starlight still replete the skies
Never have I beckoned hours of abstruse sleeping
I hear elegiac trills as a lone nightingale cries,
evoking memories that conjure tears of weeping
In halcyon moments before the paling of dawn
I contemplate my sentiments in tranquil solitude
Before the world awakens with an unstifled yawn,
the moon, sun, and I rendezvous; tryst in interlude
When velvet darkness fades to soft aurorean glints,
there, upon the horizon is painted a nuanced murk
Colors of daybreak; a blended mural in pastel tints,
created by a grand Artisan's hand; the Master's work

Snowflakes adorn blurry morn, gently, gently trickling down
As salted streets are turning brown across this weary town
While tilting trees blow wheeze of breeze in throe of snow
In aerial dance of wintry woe, as tips of twigs sun rays glow.
Driving slowly, traffic is moving, blinkers brightly turning on
As somber day, bearing yawn, is awakening bleak and drawn
When kids thrilled, frolic and build, a snowman on their lawn
Celebrating school closings on this messy, dampened dawn.
Peering scenes tinted gold, hushed romantic gazes behold
Fixating on meadows bold, where pristine paintings unfold
Delighting in the glowing blaze that brightens daze of malaise
Appealing to zeal of morning, blushing haze in emergent rays.
A deer ambles besides her fawn, exiting her quiet hideout
Curious to scout how leisurely strollers are sauntering about,
Ruminating sunshine while darkened clouds are phasing out
As bluing skies, sparkle eyes, illuminating zest of astral clout.
Beyond foothills, tall cliffs sigh, scintillating in sapphire sky
When far from here, climbing up high, cerulean motifs vie
As cobalt imprints horizons amplify, where birds merrily fly
Announcing to the receding storm: it’s time to say goodbye.
When daylight quivers on melting mound of thawing ground
Amidst whispers swirling around, muffled wind’s hissing sound;
Golden glints thrill, glistening hill, tinting the landscapes blue
Refracting puddles in ornate view of glinted beams’ opal hue.

"Fragments and crumbs of life, all the little pieces"
John Ruskin, 1853
~*~
Away from all the city's noise
my body sinks into the marsh;
as birdsong trills of whispered hymn
I slide away among the trees.
My reveries in forest deep
are well concealed and hid from view--
with jazmines pinned on hair, and then
disperse like fringes in a breeze.
While my voice hushes, quite profound
I trace northwinds, balmy and strong
when evening spreads its velvet cloak--
and muffles any wail or blare.
Here I dream of family's lore
the Sunday feasts, the mourn of deaths
beyond the place where moonlight glints,
where field of life drifts...warm and still.

As a spent sun sets,
ebony shadows
merge with silhouettes;
penciled in the rough
by a charcoal dusk.
A brazen breeze
makes me shudder;
I feel it's cool
breath on my face.
And as wolves
and fireflies,
welcome Night,
the moon
glints like
gold.

When I am reveling in love of family
Toasting virtues of revered friendships
Savoring freedoms that let me be
Luxuriating on sandy white beaches
Endowed with means to live carefree
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
When sadness reigns face of anguish
Bearing glumness of stygian grief,
In harmony of the galaxy solace I feel
Purging clouds of bleak melancholy
As moonlit gleam rescues my evening
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
When new day glints wondrous valleys
As I bask in hues of resplendent prairies
Admiring nature’s ebullient beauty--
Golden sun beams on tenor of streams
Rushing to rivers and mighty blue seas
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
When I rejoice in tranquility of music
Strumming rhythms of euphoric lyrics
Cherishing chorus of happy memories
Turning setbacks into success stories
Comforting soul in misery of defeats
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
Or is this divinity’s sacred blessing
Evincing revelation of stellar deity:
There is a star with my name on it.
