Bodies raining down
A nations heart ripped open
Savage flames assail
Tomorrows, lost in ashes
The blade of hate has spoken
The stain of 9/11 will be forever in our hearts. It was the day a vicious wound was inflicted on our nation. We staggered, but did not fall. We survived. We are America.
how thankful
i am
for the blessings
in my life
the many freedoms
i often take
for granted
mostly
the freedom
to direct my life
as i choose
it bearing no price tag
and in the long run
realizing limitations
are self-imposed

There was a time on July 4, 1776
when freedom rang deeply in the hearts of 56 men.
Men of means, prosperous men, who enjoyed much
Ease and luxury also very respected
men in their Communities.
They came together with a firm reliance and belief in
a Divine Providence and said they, " we mutually pledge
to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."
They knew even in the success their lives would be one of
Hardship in a struggling new nation. If they lost, they
would hang by a traitor's noose.
5 were captured
12 had their homes looted and burned
2 lost their sons in the Army
1 had two sons captured
9 died in the war for freedom
by bullet or hardship.
They considered Liberty of
greater value than their own security,
They had made a pledge.
To be born free is a privilege.
They would have all of our thoughts
align in eclipse of the truth
blot from our eyes cold tears
not shed at reasons death
No more the fiendish touch
of tempting speech
to challenge questions asked
and why
Nor does the hand of wonder
dare reach to touch
for fear it might enrage
the gods they praise
Thus do the lemmings march
to chanted hymn
along the darkened edge
of freedom's rim

Elderly man’s fishing net hangs in his shed
The fish he caught in his backyard stream multiply
Net use was banned; he couldn’t afford a pole
Joy and sustenance gone, a tear falls from his eye
House Bill 875 would ban backyard farms
Forcing vegetable growers to invest cash
In overpriced produce on supermarket shelves
Uncle Sam flexes his muscle, makes his whip lash
The right to freely worship is endangered
As prayer is prohibited in public schools
Government intrusion invades all our lives
Public pleas are not heard by those who make rules
Freedom to choose our doctors is now threatened
Socialized medicine diminishes choice
Speech censorship? Just ask the Smothers Brothers
Who canceled their own show with a stifled voice
As crime escalates, look to the constitution
The NRA spends billions to protect Americans' rights
To bear arms against oppressors while thieves laugh
And sue owners of homes invaded in the night
Can this be what our forefathers had in mind
When they sought to escape a king’s tyranny?
Our rights are being limited more each day
In a nation spawned to promote liberty
Natural disasters prelude Judgment Day
Eerie escalation – tsunamis, earthquakes
But perhaps when the dust finally settles
Those who survive will learn from our past mistakes
Governments will form only to preserve peace
Not to strip away rights ancestors pursued
Don’t blink! Precious freedoms are now endangered
By those who feel they’re elected to intrude
Something that chains link
Turning tricks in my mind
pain and hurt crushing
draws out one vision starlight
searching for freedom aches bend down
I carry happiness warmly knowing the truth
joy enters knowing in the end justice
you will speak with thundering roars
to Heaven cursed by a damned lie
while sitting in the fork
I pray for soul protection
Within my trials as wisdom and truth draw perfect
one picture stares from behind the curtains
smiling one vision this world
Never will it break me
As I am whole again
each morning awakening
to hear the birds sing
in sweet praise a lark song
Into the dawning daybreak
an ocean wave turns as the seagull cries
from deep caverns winding up
Echoing of chambered walls explode
Sands of my soul salted chanting free
with wings attached victory truth sparkling
wounded in diamond light
cold crystal clear reality
waterfalls over darkness
Realities envelopes opening lids
christening a mere shadow of the past
my future is ahead of me
so I embrace love
with open arms one dream
wrapped up inside a gift
from above banishing shades of night
Kim Jong-un is a vile
North Korean leader,
who hides behind a smile.
He places himself first
inciting war and hate,
of all men, he's the worst.
Cheering his cocky strut
you have the same rights,
as any other mutt.
You have the right to die
when and how he chooses,
for freedom's just a lie.
You have the right to crawl
and cow down on your knees,
as he makes you feel small.
You have the right to give
him all that you possess,
and be grateful you live.

Our internet freedoms
Say quotes?
Say Facebook pokes?
Say avatar Say hashtag,
My computer handbag?
Or smishing, dishing or instant phishing?
Our musical freedoms
Say princess of pop?
Say queen of hip hop?
The king of orgasmic rock
Who got writer’s block?
Or the Fab four, the king, say how to sing?
Our gourmet freedoms
Say double whopper with cheese?
Say double quarter pounder please?
Say 12 piece meal with 3 sides
Cheese burger with fries?
Shrimp toast, shrimp egg, shrimp halls, or shrimp balls?
Our television freedoms
Say you think you can dance?
Say a geeky romance?
Say Australian idol
Or celebrity survival?
Got talent, Bogan hunter and the struggle street punter?
Our literal freedoms
Say greenie?
Say bluey?
Brickie
or schoolie?
Cobber or dobber or jaw breaking gobber?
Our medicated freedoms
Say candy man cartwheels?
The back alley deals?
Say ripped with ice
When you name the price?
Knocked out with the burnt out, washed out, drop out?
Our freedoms were cried for, died for,
Romanticized, and politicised for.
They’re songbirds, they’re poets, and dark night sky comets.
To be questioned and spotlighted not hidden unsighted.
They’re sublime with a rhyme for all your lifetime,
To be sung from the tongue of that defiant young.

Poetic form: Haiku
Or flag has turned upside down
In distress our nation's found
A one world order at liberties loss
Forgotten the soldiers that paid our freedoms cost
Burning parchments from the past
That held the wisdom of our founding fathers path
In God we trust has been forgot
Something must change
This has to stop
Warriors treated as criminals, cons
And terrorist talked to like leaders, Gods
Our Presidents a cowardly man
Eloquently twisting what is truth and forcing his demands
Executive orders
With all disregard
Brutally welding power against
The constitution and people he swore to protect
Given chance after chance to prove
His good intent and heart
Your all soon to be imprisoned and disarmed
Brainwashed armies
Forced to follow
Obeying orders
To kill the innocents
And fellow Americans
Out of control our National debt
It's time to stand
For what is left
Propaganda all around
Purposely staged to cause chaos and confound
Leaving our people in fear and dumbed down
Slowly they sell America's shores
Someday the enemy will come to collect
At our children's doors
Pushing hatred
We must make hast
Not falling for a disillusioned war
Between each race
Listen friends
Look the liars in the face
They wait, like a thief in the night
To inflict marshal law
For control of our life
Destruction and injustice for all
With honor we must answer the call
Clip the beasts talons
Cripple the demon, relinquishing its claws
Hinder the heathens
That desires to watch
America's fall.
Form:
Bells from church to cathedral rang out the chorus of screams
in every street echoed the cheering death of millions
as confetti rainbows came falling ticker-tape parade
from a sky of joy ashed smoke rained down in tears
Champagne corks burst a parties barrage of bombs
and wine flowed the blood over daughters and sons
a dance of tombstones to bless the survivors cause
and to applaud the rater-tat-rater-tat-ratter-tat of victories drums
the bright banners of missiles whistled over them
In such a heroes cavalcade decorated the gold of napalm
in the body-bags of freedoms fiesta
explosions of fireworks shatter the bones of machine guns
and over the graves spilled the laughter of everyone
All the flags of the nations floated bravely in their sea of lies
all wafted to triumph on winds blown heated through Hiroshima
celebrate the hour of undefeated in the corpses surrender
to count the unknown faces in the smiles of another
too drunk on relief to remember the cost of life
and the party of bullets raged on through the night
Praise your curse to securities uplifting
and babies of dust in rubble are born
the faceless injustice you so premeditated
to a murderous allegiance your anthem is sworn
Bells from church to cathedral rang out the chorus of screams
and wine flowed the blood over all their daughters and sons
celebrate the hour of undefeated in the corpses surrender
applauding the rater-tat-rater-tat-ratter-tat of victories drums
children of dust in rubble are born
in the body-bags of freedoms fiesta
Where Did My Freedoms Go?
By Linda Hays-Gibbs
Where did my freedom go?
It was here not long ago.
I was sure for all those that fought and died,
Someone had surely lied.
I cannot say what I truly feel?
I cannot tell you that you are a heel?
I cannot shout out loud in open forum?
I cannot tell you how backward we've all become?
I cannot say I feel so discriminated!
I cannot shout how the laws against my freedoms have escalated?
I cannot say my freedoms are deflated?
I cannot debate, berate or dictate?
But why? Is this a Communist state? When did the government get to legislate, my conversation, because it doesn't fit into their legislation?
That I never voted for that? I never even saw?
Whatever happened to my freedom? To my freedoms all?
Did we do away with the Constitution? I guess, When it doesn't meet their resolutions?
Who are these people to take away our rights?
Not Democrats in a Democracy? Surely! Not? Not Republicans in a free Republic? But what have I got?
Stealthily I see these are our enemies, sneaking underneath our doors!
These are our enemies so that we need listening to under the floors?
What does it take? To realize it We need to open our eyes for our sake and take a good look and SEE Open our eyes and ears clean out the sleepiness and earwax, rattle our brains not relax or
We shall be saying "Heil Hitler" or some such stupid rhetoric and bent to their will forced to obey and have no say!
Where did my freedoms go, don't you know?Wake up America find your freedoms once more before they have fled for good and a dictator has shut the door and you can find them no more!
So When they shout shut up!
Stand up!
Not allowed to chew gum anymore,
What will be next, not able to open door?
This may seem frivolous.
Will be advantageous,
To profiteer, he will know the score.
Who would lend their essence to such words
Uncrumple them ‘midst fading sense of truth
Sharpen dull edgeless rusting swords.
Shouted once from blood stained creaking boards
Muttered by those grown “long in the tooth”
Who would lend their essence to such words
Whisper calls from echoless fjords
Spur the interest of our failing youth
Sharpen dull edgeless rusting swords
Challenge them to run - not from - but toward
A passion that would brand them as uncouth
Who would lend their essence to such words
Reweave them as a fire, incite the hoards
Nurture the subtleties taking root
Sharpen dull edgeless rusting swords
Re-sound the growing call of freedom’s chords
Deny the tyrants reign of spurs and boots
Who would lend their essence to such words
Sharpen dull edgeless rusting swords.
