The pitch the peak of senses piqued
each completely

Let me see

searching my memory
biking down Laurier
locking eyes with a hawk flying in the opposite lane
is probably my most memorable favourite sight seen

Epitome of sound

if I went bird I couldn't pick only one
so another favourite song

Five Senses In Spring
The wood smoke is rising,
there’s a chill in the air,
the valley’s in shadow,
with the pear tree still bare,
but I know by morning,
what the new day will bring...
It’s the last day of winter;
yes, here comes the spring.

I feel the warmth growing,
with winter veggies to share.
The...

Reminiscing a Future

Taste of my Teddy bear suckling comfort
Cool button in his ear on my tongue

Sound of silence of parachute’s silk
    ...

Five Senses In Five Lines
The musk of damp earth after a coating of autumnal rain permeates,

Smoke upon distant chimneys, spiralled clumsily, enveloped by the evening sky,

Leaves underfoot make a crunching chorus, harmonious in their decay,

Mulled wine, offers a welcoming warmth on this crisp night,

Eyes feast as the setting sun...

There was a place I used to know,..
where summer evenings
spoke in long shadows that were heard by the sun
blending dark into light
Where sweet grass, fragrant and damp, would buckle and bend
under the weight of a child's hide and seek,
then quickly spring back, upright...

MEMORIES OF MOTHERHOOD

Childbirth isn’t called labour for nothing, it is damned hard work but so worthwhile when the baby is finally placed in your arms. I can still recall the sound of my newborn son crying and taking his very first breath, it was a...

MY FIVE SENSES

In my fifties I disavow the taste
but back in elementary school
the image would drift into daydreams —
pork kidneys with savory gravy
went well with the pucker of dills.

The fleabag oil of dog fur,
the weighted polish on nails,
and the brush of bangs on my forehead...

Living in the concrete jungle of the city’s thermal island
My five senses were stifled to almost dead and bland.

To perceive if all of them are still alive and working or not
I went from the city to the lap of nature I nearly forgot.

I trekked in...

The Five Senses
the things i can see:
rain on the window,
Christmas cards, swaying
trees, a sleeping old
lady, bills to pay

and i can feel:
the desk, a sneeze
coming on, the
chair and my 'tache

i can hear:
clocks ticking,
snores, music

lemon,
rose smells

wine!

(the last one is wishful thinking, LOL)...

The Five Senses of Christmas
The Five Senses Of Christmas
The smell of Christmas candles.

The sight of shoppers picking over gifts for their loved ones.

The taste of warm Christmas cookies that melt in your mouth.

The feel of the cold snow on your hands.

The sound of the fire crackling in the fire...

Time by the ocean is a special luxury...
rejuvenation of spirit, mental cleansing,
physical relaxation and revitalization

Scent of the ocean air...
the first indication we are near
and we savor its smell...
actually find it stimulating

Walking along the beach...
waves roar in the distance...
sand squishes between toes...
cold water hits...

Premium Member five senses -
all my senses ...

long to make sense ... of YOU
what greets my gaze is perfect imperfection
lines and curves and shapes and
colors and movements
mingled with sacred intent in sublime symmetry -
features that alone might be found disconcerting
collectively arranged in ways that
steal the steadiest of breaths
and define...
