Best Feathery Poems
From a mountain's crested height
I'm free of dread without fright,
since I grew wings to take flight,
'cross oceans I soar.
Aviator, flying high,
gravity, I can defy.
Great crashing waves I descry
o'er the ocean's shore.
Swiftly, I can flit and glide
like ebb and flow of the tide.
Never shall I be denied
hearing oceans roar.
A nest of twigs is my home
where I can view waves of foam.
Never again shall I roam
from oceans I adore.
Land lubbing is not for me.
My heart and soul agree.
Feathery, I choose to be,
I've oceans to explore.
I shall beseech, if I must,
to remain with my wings trussed.
Flying serves my wanderlust
for oceans and more.

Deep in the feathered woods, my ancestors wait
Ghostly haunting quite solace
Lighted forest of there paths connect
Soft light enters to sooth there souls
Celeste beings shelter there comings
My heart feels the sadness, they left behind
Each eagles wing dance the heart canto Hondo beat
Vesper be the broken promises long ago
Glazed palettes are beyond ones conscious
Effulgence shall be the forgiven of all angels
Each lost trumpeted blare with flames
The highest amber flute dances in the dawn
Her silence is over come with joy, wolfs soul
As the one who is chosen rises from depths of darkness
To reveal the ancestor rose
Emerald sea,Thru shared dreams time begins the lighted vessel journey
O Icarus, young Icarus flying so high,
As an eagle, in the sunny blue sky, rising.
Waxing strongly in his vigorous youth, so bold;
Fearless, he failed to hear his fine father’s sure truth.
Alas too late he learned his fate, clearly seen
As he plunged into the oblivious sea.
His aged father wept at his cruel, melting fall
Nearby, strangers never saw Icarus’ demise.
So much for feathery constructions wrought with wax
Young Icarus, was lax, dearly paying his tab.
Gurgling in dark white shark infested depths he drowned
No marble slab would ever grace his stubborn head.

Title: Icarus Falling

A crystalline drop of frozen water
blossoms into a snowflake;
while tumbling to the ground.
And fragile flakes twirling in the sunlight
perform perfect pirouettes;
dancing upon a breeze.
White on white, the air is almost opaque;
as feathery flakes of snow
fall from a sullied sky.
Naked trees don a shawl of frosty white,
delicately woven flakes:
beautiful to behold.
The ground gets blanketed in a soft fleece
stretched silky smooth by the wind,
seamless and wrinkle-free.
Boughs bow under the weight of Winter's hand,
sculpting a Hallmark moment;
time locked in memory.
And within the splendor of that moment,
I slipped under Winter's spell;
and fell deeply in love.
My love my love
I hear your calls from above
You are like a dove
covered in feathers.
Yes you are so clevers
My love my love
Come into my arms
And with my charms
We will disarm all thy’ filthy enemies
Until they are thy frenemies
Upon a faithful Valentines.
Snowflakes like
feathery fluff
tumble
from frigid skies.
Spreading out like a
down duvet,
feeling
snugly soft;
and yet,
icy cold
to the touch.
A shroud, befitting
Autumn's splendiferous
dead;
wove by Winter's hand.
Here is a poem I wrote (photo's of THE LADY, chicken,

THE LADY (the chicken) - MY FEATHERY FRIEND
THE LADY
I wake up in the morning,
In the eglu, warm and safe from harm,
I will cluck along until you let me out,
Lee, you don't need an alarm!!
LEE
*It's The Lady!! ", I said,
But just let me have 5 more minutes please,
To rest my weary head!!
Then I will let you out,
Even though you got me out of bed!!
I will set you free,
To roam around the garden,
Where you keep me company.
You like to go foraging,
And I feed you mealworms,
Then you go dustbathing,
To protect your feathers from germs.
THE LADY
Later, you go back inside your home,
I jump up at the window,
Won't you let me in??
Lee looks shocked, standing there,
And smiles with a grin.
LEE (goes back outside)
Wondering around the garden together,
Being outdoors and free,
Enjoying the fresh air,
The Lady and me.
Don't worry, my feathery friend,
You won't end up in a stew,
I will protect you,
And look after you.
THE LADY
So grateful,
To be looked after by you,
Having warmth, food and freedom,
Just to say,, "Thank you,"
In my eglu nest,
I lay an egg or 2,
Happy days!!
Shrubs squat still in serried clusters
as quails burst in a blur of feathers!
feathery wisp
lightest touch
a breath’s caress

What the birds know today is that I am not there
Funny as it may seem, those birds and I have something in common
We are always looking for something,
What puzzles me the most is when I put out food
They appear from nowhere, chirping and calling for others
To come to share the food.
They are fascinating creatures,
I think I have hyped them too much by feeding them a lot of sugar:
However, I loved how they picked the leftovers.
And in a nanosecond, the food was gone.
I am back in the cold once again,
I truly missed those birds outside my door,
They do not need to migrate south.
And most of all they don’t have to select
Or regret voting for a president
In their defense, each of them appears to be a leader.
Who leads Birds of a Feather?

folding and rolling
