Premium Member Not Entirely About Living In New York

I’m sorry for my flaws
I appreciate everything you do for me
I wish I could always smile at passing children
I wish I felt better about myself
I wish I saw the light you provide for me
The light I voluntarily turn my back from
The light I’m suppose to drink
As if to keep hydrated.

I’m surrounded by quarters and unfinished books
I read because I’m searching for affirmation
Quarters for clothes to be kept clean.

I’m divulgent
I parade my flaws
I hide, trip, and reveal my flaws
I am in constant concern of my own being
And a stillness of thought for a mind to be kept clean.

The world is a messy place
Our mind the raking of leaves
The leaves of the world fall and we rake
The leaves of the world fall and we rake
We fall and awake and fall again.

Love is warm, harmless, and stamped
Inefficiently weak by the assemblies of faces
Swept up by the world’s business of cold linear time
Moving like a sad and brutal train.

I sit at the station
My fingers interlocked pressing against my face
Peering through the thicket of my spirit.

Hours later, maybe, I am looking up the hill
Pulling my elephant.
Children circle around my small progress
Skipping and laughing.

(They don’t care,
They just like elephants.)

Though, last night, I dreamt I rode a killer whale
And so here it dawns on the weakened spirit:

That I am the Whale Rider of the Phantom World
Wandering through 10th Avenue
My flaws in our wake
My fist pumped high in the air
In the name of a Life Authentic.

This all dreamy and wonderful
While in the world of machines and mass movement
The elephant keeps his slow, tugging gait behind me,
Ignorant of dreams.

"All alone! Whether you like it or not,
alone is something you'll be quite a lot!"
Quote from- Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go! And The Larax
________________________

Sometimes I am utterly, totally, entirely lonely,
     There are days all I want to do is eat macaroni;
And on the carpet play roly-poly with my doggie,
Secluded and apart, toasty, cozy and all solitary.

Alone in myself, all alone wholly and sorrowfully,
     Altogether silent, oh I enjoy the quiet completely;
Lonely can be good for writing a long, long story,
Or penning a sweet verse or rhyming a little poesy.

So when you feel lonely, just be still and write poetry,
And don't be sad, don't be afraid and don't be angry,
                                                 Just be lonely.

Seventh Place

A Journey To Healing Entirely

You cannot rush
My healing process
My skin has invisible marked scars
From the verbal and mental abuse it endured
I let your lingual assaults have the power to damage my identity

Summer rain washes away your words
when they rise to the surface
I was like a pelican with oil heavily weighing down my wings
and my feet pound across the slick cement surface
Hoping if I run far enough, I'll leave behind the memory of it

I confess my deepest sentiments to a stranger
who listens intently and has become my pathfinder
When I have lost my way to loving myself
.......................

I KNOW that I am hiding in the shadows
Camouflaged from those who could break my heart

I am HERE!! IN THIS PLACE
WAITING!!!!!!!!
Awaiting the moment where my power that I have wrapped a security blanket over
Will Rise
from the Cobra position
to the Tree
Solid with both feet planted on the floor
I will no longer cower like a wounded animal
No... my will has only grown stronger

You cannot rush the healing process
As it is a journey of itself
A pilgrimage where one must venture out alone
To the lonely shores of Ireland
Where the waves crashing on rocks is the only vivid sound
I will cry, and I will re-live the hurt
I will overcome the addiction that kept me from the world
I have grown so weary of taking so much out on my humanly body
I await the days where I proclaim the words “I love me”

Premium Member Someone Else Entirely

You call me an opposer of racism,
a defender of human decency.
You call me a colorful quilt
filled with vast intricacies
You call me a kindred soul,
one who is quick to lend a helping hand.
You call me slow to speak,
a spark of sunshine in a shadowed land.
But, my friends, I am none of these things.
I am just a single person, born into privilege,
living in a world that has too much of everything.
Lacking exposure the same is true for prejudice.
Due to lack of wounds, times of stress,
and insufferable heartaches.
This wee little heart of mine is just waiting to break.
So do me a favor and imagine me as someone else.
It may take some time, but I have faith you will do it well.
Imagine me as the son of a rich plantation owner.
With the ritziest of friends and the snobbiest of conversations,
when oppressive slavery was the norm within our nation.
Imagine a hot summer day,
and a guy named Big Joe
just whipping away.
I'd like to think I'd stop the whippers hand
with a confident and reaffirming squeeze.
"You have no right to harm this man!
Walk it off, Joe. Is it perhaps the sultry breeze
that's fogging up your judgement?".
But who's to say for sure?
Back then the times were different.
I'd still be the same person deep down
... but what about the mask I take off
when no one else is around?
Imagine me the father of a psychopath,
would I help him get away
with murder simply because he is my blood?
Would I unlock his handcuffs, whispering, "Run son, Run!"
Imagine me in a gang of bullies
making kids feel lower than dirt.
Cracking mean jokes until they burst
... red roses from a gun
(and I thought we were all just having fun).
Imagine me as someone else entirely,
would you still see the raging fire within me?

This Flight Is Entirely Computer Controlled

This Flight Is Entirely Computer Controlled

By Elton Camp

It was inevitable that it would become this way
Pilot error causes most crashes, experts all say
Many lives would be saved, it was estimated
If only the human pilot were to be eliminated

Computers have no emotions & don’t get tired
Accordingly, at HAL Air, all of them were fired
It was proclaimed to be the best advance in years
Removing pilots would quell all passenger fears

Then the first such flight very quickly sold out
That it was the way to go, travelers had no doubt
“Airplane pilots get sleepy or even fly drunk.
I never did like to have to trust such a skunk.”

“Welcome to HAL Air,” a computer voice said
And the prepared script it so competently read
“Aviation history is being made here today.
For no pilot is onboard to just get in the way.”

“I am programmed to handle whatever may arise.
We are racing down the runway and into the skies.”
Suddenly static and the voice became a tinny song
“Nothing can ever go wrong…go wrong…go wrong…”

Premium Member Entirely You

My love, this is our time of hour,
But I wish to give you something.
Something that I've learned,
Just please, set me free, please?

And then, we shall be no more!
I shall be longing for someone else.
To possess her in the comforts of the heart,
While you walk down the sea's shoreline!

Someone to be beside me tonight,
You look as sweet as an apple pie.
You are the apple of my eye,
I'll hunger for your thirsty lips.

I cannot help myself but want you.
Solely, all just for me, my love.
Memories of us together, now,
That's the only thing that I possess.

I admire you for leaving,
But please, close our door going out.
My love, know you are the one,
Only for us, it will be so blissful.

Vividly, in my heart, let it beat
The elegant hues of the blues.
I wish to keep on humming,
We look forward to seeing our future.

Giving of Myself Entirely

Giving of myself entirely
and making others happy
is my greatest wish,
no other passion is greater than this:
intensely feeilng it and sharing it.

Some have thrown stones at me without a solid reason,
and murmured wicked words filled with jealousy and hate,
not knowing that truth was my lighthouse not standing alone...
that one day would have shed light everywhere! My night
wasn't the darkest and my morning was the brightest!

I have seen again those malevolent eyes,
but those evils hearts didn't give me a chance to love them,
and reading their unloving thoughts I avoided them;
are they dead or alive, roaming the dark forest of their soul,
never seeking the warm light of another sunrise?

Giving of myself entirely
is a passion and a devotion;
my happiness echoes with gleeful emotion,
seeing them smile and laugh, shake hands
and congratulate themselves for their good fortunes.

If they thought as I think and loved as I love,
no unkindness would deprive anyone of giving of themselves;
so what's the cause of their malcontent? Hatred, selfishness or pride?
I've come to this shocking conclusion: self-love!
It's the huge cloud blocking our sun and making it really unbright!

I'd rather spend my days by myself than having untrue friends,
friendship should be that iron bar that no heat is ever able to melt;
understanding, forgiving and loving is the strongest allegiance
we could ever wish or dream of...then let your honesty be it!
Let's built tomorrow on trust, not self-gain, and love each other!

Premium Member Entirely Up To You

Life slips away like a passing thought:
enjoyed, and then, the moment is lost.
And yet, every second is precious:
for our mortality, bears the cost.

Time favors the impetuous young
by slowing down to extend their play.
To them: a week's an eternity,
and a moment can feel like a day.

But as the years drop like falling leaves
time significantly picks up speed.
And although you may wish time would slow:
it can, but continue to proceed.

We see time as either friend or foe:
and yet, neither assertion is true.
For it's how you perceive time that counts:
and that is entirely up to you.

An Entirely New Me

What actually happened
in the spin of those struggling years
was nothing worth mentioning,
just being hopeful and not really giving
of myself; and that secret remained untapped
until I became aware of wishes...

An entirely new me
makes my presence real, not elusive,
when a murky night vanishes
through the full moon's luminance...
not to impede, but to appease
any emotion felt instantly!

If instincts could teach me
to avoid the dilemmas I am caught into inadvertently,
I would make those sudden changes
to get rid of all indecisions;
and as need never urges me to set limits,
I must show confidence and courage!

An entirely new me
challenging tomorrow without impatience,
living to the fullest of my desires...
to grasp that moment with eagerness ;
and what will proceed great joy,
will not be comparable to what I will become!

Entirely Possible
David J Walker

Isn’t it entirely possible that
We have been walking away from
The endings of life?
Treading backward into a beginning
That has always been in hiding
In plain sight
Waiting for us to return?

Isn’t it entirely possible that
We stand on a pedestal
Watching
	One by one
each day crossing
	sun by sun
into each night

Isn’t it entirely possible
That we are the Son and
The center of a celestial universe
Hearing our own prayers
Knowing what’s in our hearts?

Isn’t it entirely possible that
We are the Gods in embryo
Waiting to be born again?

Big shoes aren’t just wide
They can be heavy too, and can hardly fit
always open, so you can size
but can’t run in it
Because you’re just not fit

But when you meet those that fit
Then the big, appears as nothing on their legs, and light
And they won’t disappoint you
When you want them to run in it?
Then you’ve just met a leader
A person we call presidents
They who the shoe fits

Premium Member It Was an Entirely Normal Day

The sky held up, still.
The breeze blew on cue.
The cloud stuck glued on blue.
The bills came in mail.
The toast was burned.
The eggs had runny whites.
The plants outside died.
I missed the alarm.
Kissed my beau.
Kicked the cat.
Spat on the mat.
Waved goodbye,
off to work.
The day performed its ritual
rehearsed to a tee,
to be an entirely normal fit
in every way, every day.
Heard on the news:
“Nothing unusual today, it's just normal."
So today is yesterday.
Yesterday is today.
Perhaps we need a new script writer?
For Hello! Ah So!
Every day is different!
You just dressed it up in
the same thoughts,
the same clothes,
the same throws,
the same tweaks and twerps,
with same cast and plot
on repeat, repeat, repeat,
to make it fit just so,
Ah So!, as entirely normal.

Love is…too much, too little, and just right.
Love is…what keeps hope in sight.
Love is…the flickering in the dark of a long lost light.
Love is…my throat caught in a lightly bleeding bite.

Long has it been that love is all that and more
Once it was the strength and warmth in my core
Vague memories, fleeting feelings, and aching is all my mind stores.
Eventually it’ll be okay, I say, as the next drink pours.

I have been adrift, falling into a rift,
Swift switch off the cliff til lift proves a gift.

Love is…cold when it ends in lonely nights.
Love is…too much…too little…and just right…
