Smiling mirthfully, relishing amber twilit theme,
Bedazzled in musings, reveling memories agleam,
Oh! how you charm, gazing eve’s blushing arc,
Where scarlet hues delight, igniting love spark
When impulses, moonlit, passions playful cajole
As we stroll daydreaming trekking verdant knoll,
Ambling in romance, two sensuous souls extol;

Just after the setting sun merges with the sea
And sky above stages a concert of stellar glee
When seductive vibes on wings of zest spree
Questing for, stealthily, doting hearts’ consent
Chasing exaltation, love-struck hints augment,
Exuding scent amatory from emboldened heart
Intoxicating affection smitten feelings impart;

Clasping amorous moment together we found,
Where tick of blazing hearts is the only sound
But for the clues tiptoeing, arousing carnal bliss,
Pinging fervent longings yearning endearing kiss,
Enchanting intentions of eager, flirtatious night
Courting your approval, ecstatic reveries ignite,
Sowing dreams euphoric to bloom in fertile dawn
Aspiring love evermore, blossoming on and on.

The Colors Of Love

A tender smile, a fleeting glance,
two beating hearts and minds in trance.
Each feels a sense of something whole
rest warm and soothing in the soul,
to share all things of mind and heart
and of that whole become a part.
With radiance of inner glow
upsurge of passions soon bestow
strong flowing currents charged with fire.
Now fanned and fed by love’s desire,
emboldened hearts combine to share,
two beating hearts as one to care,
surrender fears, lay each soul bare
and bond as one, their love declare.

Premium Member A Spring Romance

My first sight of him was on a March day
in a restaurant where I was dining.
Oh lovely chance when his sweet eyes met mine.
Like two lovely jewels, they were shining.

The look that he gave me was a long gaze.
Brazen but fresh, but like morning dew
caressing a flower and making it glow.
I read in his eyes “Let it be you!”

Then I, like a rose caressed by the dew,
glowed pink as I blushed. Though normally prim,
I saw him stand up, his eyes glued to mine.
Emboldened, I smiled and stared back at him!’’

He walked to my table and sat down by me.
Together we dined and chatted that day.
Two hearts and two minds with longing reached out.
The whole afternoon slipped quickly away.

With the day’s ending, together we left.
In the clear evening, he said so softly,
“I know the stars, and you’ll see this night
there will be stars, dear, for you and for me.”

There at my door, he leaned in for the kiss
so beautifully soft and wonderfully long.
We heard thunder! Suddenly came a spring rain.
The wind, once a breeze, grew exceedingly strong.

Because it was cold, I had him come in.
The stars were not out, but I almost could swear
they’d burst in my soul when his lips met mine.
If he had faults, I thought “I shall not care!”

He stayed until morning. In spite of the storm,
my heart sang a song! There’d be plenty of
nights filled with stars for him and for me.
Life’s sweetest gifts are for those who love.

THE POETS PLUCK (poet of your choice) Poetry Contest of Mystic Rose

My first poetry book when I was a teenager was an illustrated Hallmark edition called "Those Who Love" by Sara Teasdale. I have included almost half the titles of poems in that book to write this poem. Teasdale's romantic poetry has been a wonderful influence on me.

A Study in Love

Her expressions were delicious, her aroma intoxicating,
Her presence was lovely, and her conversation intriguing.
I was at a loss for words as we engaged in study, together,
Of the arts, which separates human beings from the animals,
But it didn’t feel like working to me; it felt flirtatious.
And when the spark from her eye leaped into my heart,
I was emboldened to ask her, shyly,
“Do you believe in love at first sight?”
And without hesitation, she answered, “Of course!”
(As she gently placed her hand on mine, the touch, soft and warm.)
Naturally, I was taken aback by her quick response
And gazed into her face, contemplating whether to kiss her or not.
The moment seemed real, the timing perfect, and she was willing,
But the fool in me, out of desperation, looked for an excuse,
Afraid to show my innermost feelings due to my upbringing,
   Pulled away, pretending to resume our interaction in education.
   But my mind blossomed in that encounter!

Eleventh, March

A sigh escapes still, immune to overt silence, unabashed...justified
Another teardrop enters the infinite pool of resilience, uplifting...reinforcing
   Another hand empathizes--
          touching, impulsively putting one's heart unto wounds, alleviating pain
    enfolding memories into paper, ostensibly vigilant
         Unborn dreams awaiting fruition.

empty streets, impacted pieces: occupied lives, unwavering spirits

Arighting the entropy--
 "Not Impossible!" Heaves Obstacled Nation -- Untiring, Persevering!

A lone emboldened seed is planted, objectifying hope,
  ushering life amidst rubble,
engaging tenacity inherently within overburdened, yet undauntable voices
 Ardently surging, emerging from insidious waves of chaos,
     ultimately touching azure

Time effortlessly moves, insensitive to ordeals
  nonetheless, undoubtedly healing...

As wings echo distantly, irradiated winds oscillate
                     blush unfurling light...

Arise, Sun! Embrace the illuminated blossom. Orbit Love's universe.

**It has been two years since Japan encountered
such a devastating triple tragedy
of the earthquake in Tohoku, tsunami and
the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster...

They are still slowly picking up the pieces,
so much needs to be done,
so many are still displaced, uncertain of their futures, of their lives...
hopefully they are not forgotten.

It may take long, long years,
but I honestly believe Japan can rise over this, I honestly hope so.

****Thank you David for this enjoyable challenge.
 It has pushed me to approach this topic in a way that
I would have never thought of on my own....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You sit alone on the shore
        And play with the sand
My heart swells at your sight,
        I long to take your hand
I send out gentle waves
        that lick your dainty toes
Desire lights your eyes
	Longing to leave dry land
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes, you’ve heard my call
	I see you rise and give in
Trust me to be gentle
	Until your heart I win
My current is so strong
	Able to sweep you away
In time it will be unleashed
	But first, to wet your skin
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Liquid hands are exploring
	The curve of your thigh
It sets you to quiver
	Emboldened by your sigh
Slowly, I move on higher
	I smile as you gasp
You feel liquid passion
       On breasts no longer dry
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can’t wait to claim you,
	hands now are in your hair
I tug on the tresses
	trailing your body bare
You resist no longer
	It is time to possess
Ah, what sweet surrender
	As I ravish you there
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I glide and move inside you
	In my world below
I feel the swell rise
	My passion I now will show
I push you to the top
	Light as a breath of air
I know you are ready
	The strength of love to know
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My waves come crashing now
	Each stronger than before
You’re shaken in the depths
	Swept by the mighty roar
I beat down upon you
	You scream out your release
You ride each surging wave
	Beg me to crash once more
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You lay spent in my arms
	As you look at the sky
Where the jealous Sun King
	Dazzles to catch your eye
He reaches down his rays
	And kisses your body fair
But you’re here in my arms
	There is no use for him to try
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Content, you let me touch you
	And do all I please
My hands and lips all over
	You smile as I tease
Slowly, oh, so slowly
	You start your journey back
I’m left here to send you
        Kisses on the salty breeze

Fragrant magick candlelight flickers hot,

blue, red flame stimulating sparks bind hands.

Tame harmony remains. "Love." While love awakes

a wanderer of my emboldened heart;

gentle wind meander blows, and gusts oppose.

I discern your quintessence in the breeze

emerging out of dust of dry humble ground

from I was formed ... a fleeting glance into

colorfulness night; for our love rhymes

of aged mirth; our unconditional surrendered

love eclipse with flickering light while honey

sips our lips. Bound by love and devotion

my soul embraces you …you cradle me close

a thirst to be near for all eternity.

A dwelling among this vessel knowing

that you are in me and I in you

bathing in the afterglow of sunset

under heavens studded with bright stars.

Twin Flames

Twin flames of couple's fiery glow
   come close together, soon to show
      the surge of passions, and bestow
         emotions that combine and grow
            to feed their embers burning slow.

Strong flowing currents charge the flame;
   glow in the light of passion's game.
      Soon fanned and fed by fuel, acclaim
         the gift they know as love by name,
           and hearts of each with joy proclaim.

Emboldened hearts combine to share;
   surrender fears, lay each soul bare.
      Two hearts on fire, as one, to care,
         merge now to meld, a bonded pair...
            unite their flames and love declare.

Consumed under infinite sunless night;
Its uncountable fixed flickering stars,
With tendrils tender love and a lullaby,
Mid quiet indulgent heaven, it dost sings.

Swell of explosive unsated love seeks
Warm wisp embrace, of thy intimate whole.
The merit fragrant scent of thy utter love
Awakes a wanderer of mine emboldened heart.

Thy presence summons by mine fervor love.
Waves melt upon lips of ours sweet ayre, whilst
Painting gentle and slow on the palette
Of own fitful quenching passionate heartbeat.

Thee complete me in dreams of harmony,
As we dance in choral gracefulness whilst we
Grow in shimmering reflections enshrouded
In the darkness of flickering of moonlight.

Dreams poetically fulfilled.

Memories

In memories that i hold dear,
As callow youth unfazed by fear.
Those carefree days so long ago,
My leap of faith, rash bravado
Emboldened by the atmosphere.

A photograph, my souvenir
A silhouette from yesteryear.
Recalling twilights sunset glow.
In memories.

As i look back, pastimes seem clear.
In thoughts once more i do appear,
Free falling to the waves below.
Exhilarating feelings flow
As voices from the cliff top cheer.
In memories.

I lie beside you
Trying to keep still
Yet…this need is eating away at me
I sigh
Sure that my desire
Is working its way out of my body
Glowing out through my pores
I’m sure it will hover over you
And entice you with it’s aura
Pulling you awake…
And I wait….
The minutes drag on
My thoughts consumed
By images that sear into my flesh
What could be….

I can’t quench the fire
Sleep is impossible
Not now
“Wake up!” My mind shouts
Yet my lips are sealed
My breath comes in muted gasps
“Please…wake up”

“Selfish, selfish!”
My mind cries
“Let him sleep
It’s been a hard day
He needs his rest.”
I acquiesce

I toss and turn
In my mind I converse with you
“It’s been awhile
Surely…you want it too
I don’t know what to do!
How can I sleep
When I desperately want you?”

A movement on your side
I hold my breath
Hoping it’s true
The craving that will not sleep
Forces me to speak...

“Touch me!”
My most sultry voice
Breaks the stillness of the night
Your heavy breathing is stilled
I feel an awakening
Emboldened
I guide your hand
To my waiting breasts
Which I’ve bared for some time
In readiness
In anticipation
Waiting to bring me pleasure...

You pull me to you
And your lips close over them in turn
Making all my dreams come true

The open window carries out the sound
Of our frenzied sleeplessness
My every womanly sense
Is taut….alive
Wanting
Needing
Demanding
Pleasing
Energy born out of insomnia’s rage
I blaze through these moments...

Satiated…I sigh
The tenseness wanes
My body goes lax
My eyelids heavy
As a plant a kiss on your lips
I slip
I slid
Into that land
Of sleepful bliss.

Premium Member A Poet In the Making

A diaphanous mist hangs over me
Blurring my thoughts and fancy
Or is it that my Muses have gone into lazy slumber?

Whatever thoughts I have, they come fragmented and scrambled
In no way I can piece them into a string
As I try to nest them together, they wheel away like pigeons

When I struggle for utterance,
Like a child, I lisp at the very first word
Though thoughts strike me like pellets of rain against windowpanes
I fail to broil them in the crucibles of my imagination
I am a miner searching for a nugget of gold
In tons of drilled out mineral ore

In the dead of the night, in frightening stillness
I am awake, with a pen in my hand
A heavy weight pulling me down
Caught in a creative maelstrom, I whirl and whirl
I hope the ink will soon spill over
Scrawling coherent lines and letters

Like an emboldened farmer,
I sow seeds of my thoughts into a land barren,
Not fecund enough and not watered with imagination!

Who can say some of them won’t strike root
Even in the cleft of a rock and struggle bravely into sunshine
Spreading over their sterile birth place
With beauties any eye would love to behold!

I wait for that moment...
Yes, I am a poet in the making...!

Pastel shades of morning,
glow as dark wanes to light.
Colors brushed in the skies
in peach and lilac tones
as dawn begins to rise.

Pastel shades of morning,
are emboldened by noon.
Inflamed as if on fire,
shining ever brighter
as sunbeams fly higher.

Pastel shades of morning,
darken throughout the day.
Amber honey hue wends,
deepens as hours go by
before the sun descends.

Pastel shades of morning,
suddenly reappear
when sunlight starts to fade.
'Fore drowning in the sea
soft colors will cascade.

Premium Member A Playful Muse

 A palette of the mind,
Crayola colors now entwine
and symmetry thus unwinds
life is never color-blind.

Dreaming seas of abstract bliss,
waves of chromatic kinesis;
I would be, oh so remiss,
if inspiration, I dismissed.

As I awaken and grab a brush,
muse I never dare to hush,
to paint and easel, I do rush;
and allow her joys to gush.

Such elation she bestows,
as pigmentation begins to flow,
as if she’s dining on gateau,
dream-images emboldened glow.
