Premium Member When Dawn Drifts Into Enchanted Meadows

*When Dawn drifts into enchanted meadows,
listen to the choruses of birds’ song.
Feel on your skin the wind that softly blows.
Hear the crickets too which with birds chirp along.

Right before Dawn has arrived, maybe she
will paint the sky with orange, and I know
sometimes you might be fortunate to see
Dawn bringing to the landscape a warm glow.

Lay yourself down on grass. See sky change blue.
To be enchanted, meadows have flowers.
Wild, they’ll be dancing when a breeze blows through.
Enjoy their beauty in the morning hours.

Before it gets too hot, come with me. We’ll gaze
at clouds that shift like magic as we laze.

Snow Drifts

Snow Drifts

Snow drifts lay by the mountain side,
Nestled beneath the sub-divide!
Oh how its beauty is magnified,
Water vapors frozen and crystalized!

Where Drifts My Mind

Far away, where drifts my mind
I find the sun’s forever glow
Cradled by the turquoise breeze
O’er the tides that ebb and flow

In this place that I admire
Love is all there is to see
Sands of pink and palms that wave
Gently send their love to me

Far away, where lives my mind
                           Loneliness is not a word
Solitude may be on call
                           Guided by an island bird

Yet, I stay to pass the time
                   Waiting still while we’re apart
Thinking of your safe return from
Far away, where lives my heart

Premium Member Her Image Drifts

Within the long crevices of twilight
As hazy images would slip and fade—
Minutes drift like an opalescent rite
Where silhouettes flash behind a lampshade,
Wheeling faintly on my mind to invade
Glimpses from young adulthood I recall
Such b r o k e n n e s s this fist could never haul:
Yes, Mama’s portraiture finds me needing
Treasured vignettes now angled on our wall...
Prayers I grant on this date---her wedding.

As the Usa Drifts Further From God

As the USA Drifts Further From God…

As we decide whether a nativity set can be displayed.
And sue one another over when we can or can’t pray.

America is under attack and has become one huge mess.
Do we still trust in God? It’s become anyone’s guess!

I’m sure God looks down amid the chaotic confusion.
As our courts try to find some kind of a solution.

As we’ve tried to remove God from our schools…
We’ve come to adapt a new kind morality and rules.

There’s godless laws that seem to be the foundation.
Of a corrupt and very wicked new generation.

We need to get back to God and the ten commandments.
And allow HIM and pray back into our establishments!

Without seeking God and look to his word to be our guide.
We won’t be able to turn back this very evil tide!

There’s a tide of wickedness that’s washed upon our shores.
As many in this country say; “we don’t need God anymore!”

Please come Lord God! Touch our hearts with fire…
That a commitment to serve YOU would be our desire!

This God of the Bible is the one we need to believe in!
He sent his son Jesus! We need to receive him!

Let’s return to God! While the opportunity is here!
Let’s do it now! His love for us
 is very true and sincere!

Let’s make God this country’s bedrock and foundation!
Without him… We’re lost and doomed as a nation!

Premium Member The Moon Drifts Away On the Sea

As the moon drifts away on the sea
I'm shivering in the freeze
Of a lonely breeze

Stars cascade on my mind
I'm just looking for what's mine
Pretending to feel fine

A meteor shower isn't what I need
As I'm falling to my knees
Mouthing to the heavens, "please"

Melodic memories mesmerize
As if the universe is telling me lies
Crowning me the lord of flies

The universe opens up like a book made of stars
And I'm wondering why it was so hard
To not break away unscarred

See the stars in the sky are long dead
But beautiful even if they died
Just damned souls that can't hide

Flowers blossom with moon pearls
Before my fingers unfurled
And beheld by a hungry world

Rainbows shoot over and over on the horizon
And that's just where my eyes are
When the coming sunrise chases lies far

I'm just a man seeing the beauty untold
Unfold in the cold of night I know
This is a splendor only the stars can show

But as the moon drifts away on the sea
I'm shivering in the freeze
Of a lonely breeze

But not for long as I feel the sun
Light dancing on my skin I'm no longer shunned
And the ethereal truth leaves me stunned

I was always a child of radiant light
And I no longer have to look to the sky
To figure out why

For as long as I dream I can defeat hate
And chase away my stubborn hard ways
That lead to bad decisions and dark days

But deep down I still knew
I'll always swoon for the moon
That drifts away on the sea too soon

Drifts of Blossoms

Daring drifts of blossoms dance along the water's edge
And count their blessings for Heaven's sake
And drown out a lover's pledge
And the other sounds that two lovers make

Nature's ways harmonize, climb and chime
The wind whispers and moves on its way
Souls search and get lost in time
And find forever and somewhere to stay

Cherries burst and dreams explode
Deep breaths and a sudden sigh
Dangerous curves down a slippery wet road
Twists and turns against a dead end sky

Trees bend into a gripping gust
A grey ghost rides and hides the light
Rain falls into dripping lust
As daydreams dip and dive into night

Premium Member On the shore of silence, my shadow drifts, a ship adrift

On the shore of silence, my shadow drifts, a ship adrift,
Waves in the night, stirring depths where silent songs break in contemplation,
I was just a step, a stray step, on the edge of the abyss to tumble,
One step and the soul would be enchanted by echo, in a whirl of extinguished stars.
I float among the relics of time: old wood and withered shell,
A ghost in the cell of my own force, hidden behind walls of sand.
I hum softly, a refrain of departure, to leave the city of ghosts,
Lost on spirals of wind, where memories are chains of rust.
Karma sweeps with the bow over strings that no longer resonate,
Silence instead of chords; only old refrains obsess me.
I hum blues in thought, with an ancestral weight in my stomach,
Hope tangled in a snare, in the rattling of the string that hands catch.
Barred windows, wallpapered pulse, the external world just a ripe fantasy,
You can't catch a breath, not when dreams are nails caught under the ground.
But she came and from old abysses extended a comforting hand to me,
"Offer me just a moment, astral fisher," whispering a call to illuminate.
With the courage of a star commander, she serenaded me, catching me by surprise,
With eyes burning like two submerged suns, wearing flames as a celestial cloak.
Tempted by her outline, dancing through the twilight, her silhouette slicing the darkness,
I returned her smile and rolled the dice in the game of lights and shadows.
Under a dome of nights, we shed any common right,
Where the lambs of the sky were our witnesses, and the waves were a song for the jury of silence.
In horizons, laws were written in foam; perhaps the birds watched us with interest,
If they had called for the land captains, we might have been washed ashore by waves.
Not all risks deserve fringes of hope in the dance under the moon,
Sometimes even the boldest steps don't find their rhythm over the drowsy waters,
But the answer under the stars was to accept the challenge, to question the sky,
To play the high stake, though I never pretend, she was a mystery full of color.
It's enough to fall into unexpected luck
When you bet on a pair sought in sleepless dreams,
Weaving real with imaginary, on beaches beyond time.

Premium Member Snow Drifts In the Mind

Bones growing soft- no summer glow
plows plopping out piles of salt
fender benders and potholes.

White knuckles and black ice
sun shower and petal
nowhere in sight
ice cubes for breakfast
polar vortex for lunch
windchill for dinner
the snowman is hunched.
Icicles for a snack
winter has no mercy
there goes my back
but I got off easy
my neighbor had a heart attack

lake effect snow
drifting on the road
somebody froze to death
less than half a mile from home.

Dreaming of a summer blade
to cut through this icy cake
for saccada songs to warm the shovel
old man winter looks alot like the devil.

Mind Drifts

Mind-drifts

A wedge of moon flowers in a fading sky
Floating above a stained swathe of drifting cloud
Mind-drifts in starts and stops
As dark deepens in delves and dips
Cat-steps in dry crunchy grass
Cicada-song shrill and sharp
Starlings tweet in social chat
Crow-croak bass resounds
Light ripples across my mind
Shifting thoughts, drifting wide.

He Drifts

Nothing about it was bold,
walking in the cold,
chapped lips,
cracked finger tips,
no soul to be sold,
this miserable life put death on hold,
frozen walk,
and the chill right down to the bone,
always alone,
no home,
the wind strong,
hunger sat in for so long,
he didn’t know right from wrong,
through trash he sifts,
and through the cold night, he drifts.

Premium Member Drifts and Promises

Your sweet breaths and perfumes provoke so,
have I found love in this drift of circumstance?

DO you love me? If so, pray, swear it on the tireless sea,
whose thrashing cold, intemperate waters will last forever.

I swear it freely, on the sea, on breath, and on life itself
- may both be forfit should my vow prove shallow perjury.

As pronounced vows become curses, if they be lies,
truth only ripens, its harvest yielding the sweetest fruit

Premium Member When Dawn Drifts into Enchanted Meadows

When dawn drifts into enchanted meadows,
Soft golden hues dance upon the grass,
Awakening flowers that sleep below,
Whispers of magic in the air, as they pass.

The world is still, wrapped in a gentle glow,
Nature’s symphony playing, with notes so vast.

As the sun climbs higher in the sky,
And birds sing their sweet lullaby,
Meadows come alive with vibrant hues,
Every creature stirring, none refuse.

In this mystical realm, time slows down,
As the beauty of nature wears its crown.
