Best Draw Close Poems
On earthen shores are treasures
Of love, of joy, of life
A family's forever bond
The children, Husband, Wife
Treasure troves of memories
Within' these earthen treasuries
The blessed earthly life of years
And yet, can break, and rush to tears
The tears like diamonds fall like the sands
Lift them Father, within Your hands,
The broken hearts in sorrows weep
And in Your love, please. Father, keep
Those washed in tears sweet memories
Flows from earthen treasuries
Comfort the broken, draw close and near
Drying, every diamond tear
Amen
At night I'm in awe of the moon
and breezes that carry her tune
breathless I seductively swoon
for the attraction I'm not immune
through glorious fields we do tread
passions spilt out slowly have bled
chapters once scripted are read
together our fears now have fled
footsteps a plenty I've taken
sights I have seen not mistaken
beauty in eyes now awakened
bonds were built but not shaken
dreams coming true that are real
a soft kiss on your lips I shall steal
two hearts draw close I can feel
an infinite love we reveal
at your side I do gallantly stand
pledged firmly on your left hand
each day spontaneous not planned
capture riches of this bountiful land
sweet smells of honey dewed grass
a doe and her new fawn quietly pass
the pond peaceful unblemished glass
in harmony it's God's perfect mass

Oh souls that brave All Hallow's moon
whose shadowed face would bid us swoon.
We stare upon your ghostly veil
a-flight on twilight's empty trail.
And yet, we delve where darkness daunts
to fathom mystery, know what haunts
our souls when comes October-tide,
where fear and anguish both abide.
Each hidden passage, road or rill
we spy while walking makes us chill.
Gray shadow wings on ghostlike trees
make heart and footsteps quickly freeze.
All pathways lead where horrors thrill.
The heart is numbed as is our will.
Frail steps draw close toward the lair
where phantom talons might ensnare.
How long until we're safely home
free of this mental catacomb?
These questions spin within our head
as we trek fully gripped by dread.
How do souls flee such grievous fright?
Oh moon, postpone our dreadful plight.
Deliver us to warmth and home
from black enigmas in the gloam.

Cotton And White Clouds
Cotton squeezes spongy soft in sanguine undertows
Flows calmly through the gentle fingers slow
Babies feel them caress their tender skin and sigh
Thin fibers rise to weave a dream of pure new white
Through their tiny minds as they recline to nap
Invisible oceans come and wash thoughts clean
Clouds envy them within the realm of reason
Sleeping on blue skies like baby silent whispers
Marshmallow mountains of ghostly fluff move up above
Over the innocent bundles of pure love
Clean and clear, floating ever slowly
Evaporate as they draw close
Tranquil cotton finds white clouds in heavenly repose
Blissful just like Christmas snow
Before they disappear
She bathes my soul within her
Sanguine waters ardently
Inundating my senses whole
I become upon her embrace
We become one spirit aloof
Within both light and darkness
Depraving sharp hunting eyes
Perceiving the mirrors self image
Of high tribulation chiseled
Stone falling across studio floors
Swept scrupulous and surgically
Transfusing this beauty of essence
Upon the humid air of breath
Sweetly scented floral calling
Across unmeasured distances
Trekked of unfettered resolve
Heightening as you draw close
Tending my wounds unshaken
Confidence in trusting touch
Eases tautness now diminishing
Away flying into night taking
Pieces of you in my pocket
Clutching for hope and strength
Of this blossom rooting deeply
Within one another we discover
All that we behold and feared
I give to you willingly…untainted
Wholly my poetic heartsong
Inscribed within and without
My trusted two thousand miles
beneath the effulgence
of obscured moonlight
emanate shadows stalk
as i draw close
within the weakened sighs
of misted breaths
on bended knee
as pleas abate
within the confines
of dark nights
cockcrow may come
without rise
of my eyes
sanguine skies
blushed against
pale skin
as folded hands rest
fear not
for i will join those
bereft of life
in more than memory
my eyes have seen
tangerine tips of trees
within autumn's breath
pirouette down
in scribbles on ground
beneath bloodied sun
against crimson skies
as lilac hues faded
against the ocean
i have heard
its thunderous roars
as it wet-kissed the sand
while gulls scurried
in its wake
i have tasted
the lingers
of its salty spray
fall from the corners
of mine own eyes
the sands of time
have etched
the same trails
upon my face
of my yesteryear's
plight
i am weathered the same
as the shores edges
in its lash
as it pressed back
against storms
i have etched my words
upon paperless memories
in the depths of your mind
for i will linger there
if tomorrow
were to never rise
through my own eyes
August 20, 2019
Emerging from my teens
I had a head full
of ghosts to escape from -
inhabitants of an inner world
I kept to myself. Future life
was over there,
at the end of a train line,
a long road, the last port
of call on a ship's long voyage.
I could never get far enough
away - they always
found me hiding in some
masquerade, a clever cover
concocted to conceal -
at times I even fooled myself.
Mirrors were a bane,
they told the truth
and so I learned to look away.
A lifetime on
they are still with me but now
I know each by name.
There are days
when they draw close
and become weepy
as if seeking love,
though still afraid to leave
the refuge of my shadow.
I say Your name,
I pray the same
and I feel close to You.
The word You gave me
will always keep me
close to You.
Our Father!
King of eternity.
Most High!
Creator of all things.
My Jehovah,
Your name “Jehovah”
is what I sing.
In time You prove
whatsoever You
shall prove to be;
as You become
whatsoever You
might need to be.
Almighty!
True God of all I see.
Savior!
Your kingdom come to me.
My Jehovah,
Your name “Jehovah”
is what I sing.
He glorified His name.
Let it be glorified again.
He draws close to us
when we draw close to Him—
Jehovah!
We’ll never take His name
in a worthless way, no not in vain;
cause He’s not far from us
and He will surely judge the day!
I say Your name,
I pray the same
and I feel close to You.
The word You gave me
will always keep me
close to You.
Our Father!
True god of all I see.
Savior!
Your love alone saves me.
My Jehovah,
Your name “Jehovah”
is what I sing.
In many dreams of you, I wish
If I could get my hands on the wings
If only I could come over to you now,
It would be the best moment in my life.
Alone in a cool evening
With the light of a candle and the breeze from afar
And then the moment would draw close
And the night would become our friend
And nature would support our breathe
And our dream would seem simple
And nightmare be far from us
For the moment would be the beginning of a new era
And the dawn would bring joy
Happiness and love
Sitting under the pale pink running rose
At the end of a beautiful Autumn Day
Searching for inspirational sonnet to compose
For my love who lives in heaven's way
To me He's like a honeysuckle vine
Blooming in the month of May
Sweetly fragrant essence among the pines
He's like the gold of mountains that's refine
To me He's like the babbling brook
Sweetly singing in tune
For everything in heaven He forsook
Fo prove His love for me is beyond the moon
Words cannot describe my love for Him
But daily I'll try to draw close in His realm
Seven ships sailed south to Salem
Sacks of spices sweet sacks of salt
Riding wave’s ridges roughly
Roughly riding seas to south
Blue shallows secrets silent secluded traps
With coral teeth and rocky cracks
Fountains sprout from huge fish backs
The Kraken awaits amidst ruined ships
With sharp hungry salivating mouth
Yet the captain steers clear of this fear
As ports draw close and harbours near
And as the schooners dock and anchor
As the seven ships docked safe
And sound in Salem’s port
On Salem’s ground
The top ten reasons not to go to church,
Clingy Christians may come and lurch!
It is so boring that I’m sure to fall asleep,
The Pastor’s message may make me weep!
I am too busy with sports and stuff,
In my life, I have enough!
They want all the money I labor for,
Or they think they’re better, for I am poor!
I am too tired, from a week of work,
The singing and dancing, they are berserk!
And the number one reason in the nation,
they are hypocrite’s, crying tribulation!
With ten more reasons, I’ll sum this up,
to why my friend you should drink this cup!
Church is a place where love abounds,
A place where the lost can be found!
Church is made up of God’s people,
that gather together under a steeple!
Yes, they stumble, sometimes they fall,
But given the chance, your phone they’d call!
Every person who does attend,
Has had a hurt they’d like to mend!
There are fellowship and spiritual guidance,
When all the laughter has subsided!
It is a place that does help others,
Everyone is called sisters and brothers!
But the number one reason to go to church,
Is to draw close to Jesus, and yes it works!
I remember the day I first walked in,
I knew they could see my faults, my sin!
I thought they judged me from the start,
But oh so wrong, on my part!
Now I myself am one of THEM,
And NO my friend I don’t CONDEMN!
We have all made mistakes,
But thanks you Jesus, he gives and takes!
He gives life to all who ask,
And took the sin in which we bask!
He showed me love, and now I can share,
Will you come, my friend, I'll save you a chair!
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much more, as you see the day approaching.
Hebrews 10: 24-25
Remember when we could still stand
To gaze upon some virgin land
Appreciate the beauties of the Earth?
Remember when the flowers bloomed in May,
How we lived, day to day
When little things still had intrinsic worth?
Remember when there were no fears out there beyond the fence?
Remember when we still had common sense?
But now it seems so far away
Though it happened only yesterday
The tremor's still a-shaking in my heart.
And now there's just a stoneage silence
Born of but a moment's violence
Standing sentry in a landscape torn apart.
The heat came down like a mountain falling in the sea
The sky lit up like a thousand suns
Ten million souls cried in agony
Hung in the air, then faded out as one.
Sorry, don't like to steal your sleep, my dears
Didn't mean to probe your deepest, darkest fears.
But I keep having this terrible dream, you see
You can't imagine how it makes me feel
When I wake, draw close to me
Tell me, was it really real?
Remember when things didn't seem
So pointless so gone extreme
That we could let the children play outside?
Remember when the Grand Alliance
Worked so hard for world compliance
Yet how they finally made us go and hide?
Remember when the world that was
Was still a place for having dreams
How strange the thought of that now seems.
But now it seems so long ago
A million miles from what we know
The Final Crime committed now at last.
So now it's all a weary show
As on and on and on we go
Our living time is now - the Past's the Past.
Hold the beauty of the desert
it's wind cold
pristine
blanketing wide expanse
reckoning
awake to drifted thoughts
blown endless across plateaus silent far
where distant dreams painted in the sand
draw close with longing
like lips across a rose
eager for the touch of soft deep colors
well defined in quiet self repose
or the purple of the sky
now stayed together
the hazed sun orange red against.
