Draped In a Lavender Light
I wore fear
 like a winding sheet,
 leaving behind trails
 of dead dreams

I held hope in my hands
 and weeping, it slid
 through my fingers
 evaporating to naught

I undulated to music
 praying for redemption
 within the passage,
I was left bereft, still, taciturn

but by relinquishing...

Blood Draped
It was coming up, the politics
like dirty sex
in tall Parthenium grass.

The panther was hiding on a steppingstone
watching the hot, field hockey
played with skulls of peers.

Mauled, the peach skin was
entertaining sunlight in
the metaphoric village.

Prisoners of false ceilings,
we sing the anthem with
the crowd of wolves.

Satish Verma...

Premium Member Ghouls and Goblins Draped In Snow, 1991
Alex, only 3-yrs. old; insisted I take her out in the blinding blizzard!
She knew which neighbors had candy!
Snow drifts were swirling over 3-ft. by now!
I told her "Alexandra, if you'll put a snowsuit over your costume,
i'll take you down to the corner and back, but...

Premium Member Draped
Draped across the mountain range
A damp silver blanket
Remnants of last night's thunder storm
This morn's greatest asset

Miles swiftly pass on by, and time
In rear view mirror flies
Never to be seen again
In a second it dies

Fleeting moments of our lives pass
Captured only in thoughts
Stored in full...

Draped In Rhymes
Ah,rebellious spirit wanting space
With my finger on the map I paced
I climbed Helvellyn, fell off Striding Edge
Spent a lifetime hanging off a ledge

Meanwhile our kind teacher twittered on
Thomas Hardy, Hopkins., we were numb
She never mentioned she saw my escape
How the nuns hurt me,...

Frozen Trees Draped In White Snow
Often winter is very harsh and cold,
and yet its frozen trees are draped
in white snow and that's charming and exciting;
look for the blooming snow flowers towards morning.

Other seasons echo with mellow sounds,
many are the songbirds that create harmony;
in winter we may see a raven with...

Premium Member Spring Draped In Ecstasy of Embrace
On the wings of winter the northern winds depart,
their harsh whisper the frost-fastened barren boughs hear…
wait, you’ll listen to the sweet music soon, don’t fall apart,
the serenading southern breeze will caress you, you’ll endear.

The misty mask melts away, turning the sky cobalt clear…
the...

Draped In the Blanket of Winter
Winter,Oh Beautiful Winter
lay your white blanket over me
as I may huddle in it's warmth
as I may Caress the whiteness with my tips
and catch the snowflakes with my lips
A wonderland of Velvet satin
carrying its wind of pain through my soul.
destroying my body with frostbite
and achieving its...

Memories Draped
Life's memories are gathered like bright diamonds
draped on delicate shrine

No one else can take

this template in your mind

Memories real gems of history

to claim or leave behind

No need to grasp too tightly

securely they will be

Found on the wings of silence
where our souls prefer to be

For...

Premium Member Draped Long
Locks of black draped long
Stockings torn scattered thong
Excited to pert pouting lips
Boots licked, slicked

Peachy skin tasted neat
Kissed to caress sweet treat
Glazed eyes in lusting cry
Tattooed temptress, undressed

Sweated runs cascading love
Shapes of thee in welcome glove
In writhing motion natures ocean
Lusting waves, crave

Passionate moans echoes groan
Loving two...

I call it a palace - my life - gilded and draped in fine silks, where chandeliers shine like false smiles,
And the walls echo laughter that isn't mine, but beneath the velvet curtains lies the bruise of silence, a scream stitched with silver thread.
The hand...

Premium Member Wrap me in dreams, like a canvas of stars draped over my soul
Wrap me in dreams, like a canvas of stars draped over my soul,
When the rain weaves its silver silk on windows like a veil of silence,
The cold gathers us like birds under the same sky, caressed by memories,
The sun, a weary painter, lays slanting rays...
