My son has lost his eyesight
	And lacks mobility.
	His doctors are confounded,
	But I seek no pity.

There is much love in caring
Full time for those in need;
Hard work and sacrifices,
A focus to succeed.

	My career was put on hold;
His life is in my hands.
	There’s nothing more important;
	I bow to life’s demands.

Divesting self-attention
Enduring broken sleep.
Exhaustion brings disruption,
Emotions that run deep.

Few friends now come to visit.
One thing I know for sure --
	Without a diagnosis,
They will not find a cure.

The fear of escalation
Disrupted life and hope.
The overwhelming feelings
Destroy the will to cope.

I know my son would thank me,
	If only he could speak.
	I worry what will happen,
	I’m old; his future’s bleak.

Slips the Blue Satine

“Slips the Blue Satine”

Desire bites
a sonnet ripped
where the voice projects
through glossy cherry bit lips
down a telephone line
wrapped around long legs

speaking soft words
welcoming you in like a quilled whip

Freedom bites
a too serious sonnet smiles
then progresses to apply
velveteen kisses where the lips
tie a loose noose of words like pearls
around the sound conduit

curbing the mind
whispering to soft curves,

a roadmap
written across body
eyelids, flushed naked cheeks
neck down to hips
where the key turns
poetry speaks

blood drawn
the heart has teeth
Gaga’s gone
all evolutionary
too much of too much
she denudes the blue Satine easily

divesting all hopelessness of
the hounds barking
their haranguing hangdog habits
superlatives exaggerated
hyperbolical expressions of praise
blessed again in the wasted chronicles of time

her hand’s firmly fixed
around the gear stick

stilettos accelerate sharp
instructions from the driver’s seat
switching gears up
behind the fortune wheel
treasure sits
“pull your head back in”, she says

“the Lotus Eaters
at Loon Junction
are on the prowl,
they’ll tear you to bits”.
"humour me," he says,
"let me off my leash".

Premium Member Tar and Feathers

We exist in space and time
invisible, unseen for who we
truly are exchanging
words for thoughts
never face-to-face
but touching just the same
vitriol tossed with the sweetness
fair barter for some form
of kind heaven exchanging
inclement weather
to the vestries of
each others’
netherworlds
divesting
tar and feathers

The Price of Pearls

"The Price of Pearls"

a strange time
just as a dream
to a place of strangeness

strangers
walking contretemps' fine lines
composing invisible footprints

away from life
into the loud silence within
The Chronicles of The Forgotten

lost in the mists
oars plunging grave tomes in
The Tombs of Sad Poetry

some gently fierce
soft grey broken bad blue sky
reflected in a lake of tears

a sense of haunting
romance to allay
impending fears

acknowledging minds
for a short while
dipping deep within

the short measured
confronting uncomfortable
pools of sincere welcomes some sin

playing the forgotten
heart strings
light sensitive fingers pluck violins

reeling in the pleasure
swoon swimming the skinny time
with cool investiture

the Siren sings
dropping chords
divesting smiles, a serious business

arresting life, love and lust
sensual eyes read his
for good measure

where diaphanous
pages drop like
silken Selkie skin

naked she swims
to shore clutching
a fistful of pearls

wisdom comes
at the price of
freedom

lost in the depths
of drowning
all the ghosts

dead
reborn
in his eyes, they are

Her glistening
new Ocean
now her feet planted on the sure

Now the Lark Ascending
She opens the
locked door

symphonic pleasure
maestro is
leading

This Thing Called Woman

When in her best behavior:

    she smiles so sweetly
    and she loves so freely;

    she speaks so softly
    and she adores so dearly.

But if you are not on your guard:

    she will smile sweetly still
    as she drives a knife deep into your heart;

she will love you, yes she will,
    while bleeding dry your credit card until you hurt;

she will speak ever so softly,
    divesting you of your money till you can't take it anymore;

     she will adore you dearly
till she finds a new man, then drops you to settle some score.

She is tough, yet crumbles so easily,
she loves but hates with uncontrollable fury.

She sends so many conflicting signals:

like some sort of a weirdo,
    she says no when she means yes, and yes when she means no;

    she always demands equality
    yet expects preferential treatment based on her femininity;

she expects a man to open the door
    but once inside the feminist begins to take over the floor;

she can manage on her own, says woman,
    yet resents it when you don't give up your seat, you ain't a gentleman;

she wants a man to hold her when crossing the pavement
but try it in the office and the poor guy gets booked for harassment.

What a woman really wants is equality...in her favor !!!

Speech of Tears

Speech of Tears – Zamreen Zarook

Drops of tears from our purl conveys a lot,
Each an every shedding has a ballot,
By identifying the core, our hands should allot,
Because, some might be extremely as shallot.

Chipper and blissfulness gives you cool tears,
Whereas in console and divesting flow hot tears,
Fear and pains give drains of tears,
Nothing that can be patch with dollars.

Some deliveries are automatic,
While some productions are acoustic,
Another drain says I am really bombastic,
Tears are at last solely cubistic.

They convey the emotions,
People go in search for solutions,
They become happy when they are with the precautions,
Reactions again as the tears, it’s the real abbreviation.

Silently I contemplate
Secretly I desire your essence
Cardiff is another land, a far away shore
Absent from my lust, yet craving still
Drowning within my self, I lay myself down

And

Divesting my thoughts into the winds
Victory is surviving with only lingering pains
Hieroglyphic messages of undying love I leave
Even a Libra can not always balance the scales
Even a heart has only so many beats

Oratorio

"Oratorio"

Another angel
hums towards
another

otherworldly
Xanadu

bathed in choirs
its mystery calls in
the golden aria

the zephyr light
glistens upwards
breath on a new breeze

to lift feathery wings
to soar past Leo moon
breaking through immortal

in time
destined perfection
the curtain never falls

divesting earth-bound silks
leaving behind in wake
the chrysalis breaks

applause
a fragile moment
triumphant

8 in the month of 8
an indigo blue night
echoes forever the angel's wake

towards a lighter realm
there the brightest
constant Blue Sky waits

majesty calls the singing in,
baptises angels
in higher divine tones

crystal clear
as
reigning diamonds

tears in the
fabric of a veil
were never so beautiful torn

Calliope progresses
singing royal borne
dancing in the ultra violet

taken up as a song lifted,
embraced
by the strongest

arms
of Love
here, one with one

the prelude
singular
now at home

but never alone
among
other celestial muses

the message
given and received
sing, glorious as ever

in Eternity
we
still hear you

shining
magic

Premium Member Nothing You Can'T Do

Everyday when his dad came home he was waiting there
This was the special time that his dad always had to share

He taught him to throw and to catch how to swing his bat
Every game he played front row is where his dad was at

Started off with tee ball and even then he was a superstar
Not one of the older kids could hit the ball near as far

Then he moved up to softball and what was clear to see
The boy had a natural gift as natural as a gift could be

When he made it to hardball believe these words are true
Matt was one of the best pitchers the world ever knew

Through school and into Collage there never was any doubt
Their best player step up to the plate, Matt would fan them out

Sometimes in life just when we start thinking everything is great
Whether or not we deserve what happens we meet a divesting fate

Matt was out on a Friday night after pitching a picture perfect game
With the stands full of pro scouts promising him a career and life of fame

His fastball clocked at 98 and his control was pinpoint on the spot
After every game he would hug his dad and tell him “Dad thanks a lot”

A drunk driver ran a red light and ended Matt’s career that night
Being left a Paraplegic as it turns out would be Matt’s final plight

A lesser man would have been angry he would wallow in his hate
But that path was not for Matt he just stepped right up to the plate

Became one of the worlds greatest sit down skiers, the first to do a flip
Matt didn’t just come back swinging he was swinging from the hips

You see Matt’s dad didn’t just play with him he taught him the game
He taught him how to fully believe in himself, the W by his name

What Matt learned from Baseball he taught to you know who
Long as you believe in and assert yourself, nothing you can’t do

Written in honor of Matt Oberholtz
who I was fortunate enough to meet
because my friend Nick Jenkins was
his roommate. Want to talk about a
cool guy ice cycles shot out the back
of his water ski. Oddly enough I wrote
Matt's poem for Matt's contest.

Butterscotch

"Butterscotch"

Butterscotch
kisses
morning coffee
sugar in my bowl
a little cream
hopscotch

spooning
never tasted
so sweet

morning coffee
a little honey
in my smile
tastes like sunshine
tastes like sin
hopscotch begins

hot crumpet
tart cherry jam
a little cream

kisses
Butterscotch

spooning
never tasted
so sweet

the sun
over me
when it rains

morning
blue sky
eventually ...
arrives

opens
the clouds
like curtains wide
like a revelation doesn’t hide

the sun
over me
when it rains

a bit of sanity

Wedding Dress

"Wedding Dress"

Innocence
betrayed a white page
divesting romantic notions
of a pristine life marked
by sibilant soft-tongued seduction
green apple plucked
wrapping serpentine legs like vines
rosy cheeked blushing
a student smarting around
Garden of Arden's Puck
captured essence
from a torn portrait
of picket fences
climbing soft caresses
towards the wild
bee's stinging under
the tightly stitched
waiting room of a
hemmed in
wedding dress

"To drench your skin with lover's rosy stain.
A chance to find a phoenix for the flame,
A chance to die, but can we
Dance into the fire,
That fatal kiss is all we need.
Dance into the fire
To fatal sounds of broken dreams.
Dance into the fire;
That fatal kiss is all we need
Dance into the fire
When all we see is a view to a kill"

Born of Woodstock

Born in the middle of the sexual revolution,
the campaign for peace and the youths'
exploration of psychedilc drugs,

The world was chaotic, but it was still
about love,

During the "woodstock" era people
embraced who they were, divesting
themselves of social paradigms,

They sought to be better individuals
with each daring climb,

The music, and psychosis of the hippy culture,
expressed the core of America, shining truth
on all that went awry while many slumbered
others heeded their patriotic cries for a better
United States.

Premium Member Tightie Whities

What should I write, what do you think
How's about tightie whities
The kind that get most women all worked up
Divesting themselves of their nighties

Even if you plead you have a headache
She's in no condition to listen
Those tightie whities are driving her crazy
Down below she starts to go fishin'

All of a sudden your headache disappears
Now it's you who's all gung ho
You yell out “tally ho, ride 'em cowboy”
She screams bloody murder “woo ho”

That continues for thirty-eight seconds
Then collapsing exhausted on the floor
You scream out “got a cramp in my leg”
She yells, “I want more, I want more, I want more!”

Think to myself that's the very last time
It's polka dot boxers from now on
Tightie whities will be the death of me
At my age, ain't got that long

A Christmas Acrostic

abecedarian

Angels announced a special birth:
“Be not afraid!” Born in Bethlehem,
Come and see the Christ child,
Desire of Nations born in David’s town.
Emmanuel means God came to earth,
Favored One, first born of Mary.
“Glory be to God in the highest”
Heaven come down to dwell with men.
Israel’s strength and consolation,
Judah’s Prince of Peace, He was and is...
King of Kings, all-knowing and kind
Lord of Lords, lauded and lavished
Months later by Magi who marched to His star.
Notwithstanding King Herod’s claim, they
Outwitted him and offered Christ presents -
Provisions which paid for passage -
Quick escape to Egypt from the
Retaliation of Herod’s rival schemes.
Some people, sheep with no Shepherd,
Totally reject this account as a theory.
Unbelieving souls and others deny Jesus’
Virgin birth, divesting Him of divinity,
Wonderful Counselor, Wellspring of faith.
X-mas excludes the Christ from Christmas,
Yeshua's miraculous birth, which the
Zeal of Zion’s God accomplished.
