My life, like everybody else’s, is a treasure trove
with a mine from which one’s treasures are derived.
The familial bonds we form are platinum; our friendships gold.
These are precious ores that most souls are born to find with ease.
But all of us have other precious stones...

you and i were the 'good kids'
only spoke when spoken to
never picked a fight
didn't color outside the lines

later we learned that they
were sifting through all our art
ascertaining who lay on the
extremities of the bell curve
who might have a troubled home life
    ...

Premium Member Mediclueless, a Hypochondriac's Lament
I feel I have appendicitis,
Or a bad case of bursitis,
And I think I need another tonsillectomy.
I'm sure I got a staph infection
From a tetanus injection
While I was prepping for a hemorrhoidectomy.
I've got cataracts and shingles,
When I cough my kidney jingles,
And my muscle tone's diminished due...

The Vagabond
The deep delved path winds in the wood,
chasing with ghost-breaths and leafy hoods,
arbor-brawn the winnowed path crooks along;
whispering with what future song?

To ill desire and inches from hope,
plodding the cool of Earth alone?

...and the road behind pretends to love,
waltzing with garland worlds,
old friends long time...

The Box of Stuff
I heard him close shut the attic door,
I snuck in and saw him on the floor.

He found the box that I stored away,
As I turned to leave I heard him say.

“Mom, could you come here for a few,
Whose badge is this and what does this...

Purveyor of Ecstasy
Miles in a coaster, a day and hours elapsed,
Felt the utmost relief when the whirling wheels halted;
So weary and dizzy, even a smile seemed so hideous
But an in peace slumber I desperately craved for;

Eyes wide-opened at the chirping of euphonious...

All I Could See
In an abyss of mar;
I was sunk.
My thoughts swimming;
in a pool of masquerade shame.
A dagger in my head;
All I could see was an evening of score.

With a flip of a hand;
Like an angered red dragon.
I breathed fire and redemption;
In the midst of rage and terror.
I...

Premium Member Your Secret I'll Never Tell
Rest your weary head my love and let sleep consume your soul, I promise that your secret I’ll never tell, I’ll let your heart and life remain whole
It has been fifteen years since the last time I saw your face, and after all this time...

Her instinct was to run
as fast as she could...

Her feet started to move,
Slowly at first, gradually faster,

But then she bumped into something
A wall,
layered with promises,
unfulfilled ones
one by one
she delved into them…

NUMBER ONE said,
“I will always love you”,
In little pieces it...

My Rose
Red dreams,
Ruffled hair
Uninhibited laughter
Bliss

My....rose,
And yet my drive
My incentive to love
In every genuine smile

My rose,
And yet you are my concrete
I've never grown so much before
I've never delved so deep before

Green, refreshing trust,
Warm skin
Refreshing conversations
Rest

My rose,
And yet my very life
My desire to...

The Violinist
Rays of light ravish the dark,
Breaths are held as if in fear,
Awaited moment treading near,
Eddy devouring the Noah’s Ark.

A figure in black, drunk with awe
Hair in ponytail, by Euterpe crowned
Oceans of hurray, thus the silence drowned
Moments are devoured by the hour’s maw

Bow raised to enamor
And...

Love Letter From the Soul Lii
. . .

after the ellipsis
we confer

entrenched in the awakened
a story rises from the burn
limbs parted and wrapped about
delved deep within the yearn

it is the beginning
with no end
collaborating on the middle
where jute has left her mark

past the tense and purposes
deep-rooted in sense
and sensibility
our...

Land of the Seven Suns
' The gods' spake to all who had 'wide' ears...
but all they heard was Apollo's muse....'

How leavened my soul to search,

   wooly and wild to the waxxen wind,

   how swift my wings...

I peer at myself in the mirror.
My forehead is nice though I like it covered with bangs.
Lines there are to be expected,
and so too, the crows’ feet at my eyes.
At the base of my forehead are dark brown brows.
They are the one aspect of my...

OBSESSION OF SOAPS

obsessed with the daylight hours
specifically the graven-image afternoon
like high place dungeon towers

calgon’s commercial didn’t “take me away”
but a clever string of soaps did the trick
yes ~ for three “wholesome” hours every day

like following a clever treasure map
i lived for “all my children”
Such lovely...
