Sacred Flame

SACRED FLAME

Let others speak in praise as well they may
Of nature green, untouched by human hand
A perfect Eden, God, sole would defray
That we should tend unchanged, this virgin land

When He incarnate made that brief outreach
In human form participating here
It seems to me his mission was to teach
Bequeath responsibility of care

Thus we were blest with talents and desire
To build and to enhance the world we own
Set deep within there burns a sacred fire
Creativity is ours, be it on loan

So let the works of mankind be esteemed
Divinity within is thus redeemed

Waiting For a Brighter Day

There is hearsay of a brighter day
And if it does come my way
I hope it will stay
While the time whittles away
There is no game to play
Struggling with life's daily melee
All I can do is pray
I wont be lead astray
By the things that outweigh
Like the debt of sin I must repay
Only I can defray
With little time there can be no delay
Gods word I must obey
And his love I will never betray
For then he will take away all this dismay

Heron Contest

The Heron, grey priest of the shallow mere
Stalks slow and calculated t’ward its prey
With cool far seeing vision of a seer
And knowing his own power needs no defray
For he alone adjudicates the day

His strategy grinds more than single axe
A long unhurried glide path to new gaze
Will reposition him for a climax
And total consummation of his plays
The end - submission that for him is praise

Revelation 11:3
And I will cause my two witnesses to prophesy
a thousand two hundred and sixty days dressed in sackcloth...
Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves,
but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written,
Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Premium Member O Moon, Full Moon

O Moon, full moon I gaze upon your face
and ponder the many secrets you keep
of things you have seen throughout time and space
while the rest of the world was fast asleep.

The secrets of love’s infatuation
as young lovers embrace the night away,
or nocturnal crimes of altercation
against our humanity doth defray.

I gaze at your face as you roost above
in the sky, amongst the stars where you dwell.
While I’m awed by your beauty, I think of
the things you’ve seen and stories you could tell.

The wonder of your presence leaves me meek;
O Moon, full moon if only you could speak.

Walls

Walls invade privacy of badmouths!
Walls articulate,
Wandering how they articulate?
Echoes! Echoes! Echoes! Ears! Ears! Ears!
Walls have exuberance of ears.
Walls are deleterious,
Even though they’re stunted and dead like nails on doors.
Thee! Can’t even fight walls
Because, of their fortitude!
Trust walls not, when conspiring,
Walls! Have exuberance of ears!
Walls defray to whispers

The Willow and the Alder

THE WILLOW, THE ALDER (& We)

The Willow and the Alder choose to stay
By river bank and margin of the lake
Their roots, content, submersed, will thus defray
A thirst, to take libation and to slake

The Alder and companion the Willow
Endure when others suffer, drown or wither
In time of drought or when the waters billow
Embrace each challenge, full, no flinch nor quiver

Thus life will self adapt, on many roads
To satisfy imperative: Survive!
Whilst we take other paths, in different modes
And change: not selves, but world in which we strive

In brotherhood: with nature’s adaptation
Our God within decrees divine creation

Premium Member Can'T Beat the System

`They say if a good deed you do every day
`It will in deed repay for love will pave the way
`Some say and do not a famous prophet did say
`Hoping to beat the system, but there is hell to pay

`Many who walk not in love their relations do fray
`Many a marriage crumbles, turns children’s lives gray
`We reap as we have sown, and death will repay
`We burn bridges behind, make war and we slay

`We blame all on Satan, but it’s our hating clay
 `I’ll do my good deeds, sow good seeds and pray
`A prayer, a good deed a day, keeps bad at bay
`Good deeds, good seeds, every day love will thus weigh

`We ask, we have not asking in vain of nay
`We live strife on puppet strings of ballet
`We feed on worldly evil like it’s a buffet
`We judge condemning ourselves to decay

`We lust and we scold, growing old of defray
`Our evil dazzles us, surrounds in array
`It is Love’s horse power we hook behind shay
`We trust not love’s will gives a better day!!

Premium Member My Hardened Heart

Throughout my life the bridges crossed
so many times I’ve loved and lost
as hopes and dreams were used and tossed;
my hardened heart had paid the cost.

I felt as though I couldn’t go on;
a darkness loomed at break of dawn;
my hopes and dreams forever gone;
I felt my heart was but a pawn.

Remove the hardness of my heart
 that’s not where it belongs;
 replace it with your tenderness,
  and sing to me your songs.

To my surprise one sunny day
a gentle spirit came my way;
an angel sent from far away
to ease my heart, its aches defray.

A southern voice so soft and sweet,
just like a bluebird’s morning tweet;
a song with such a gentle beat,
to sweep my spirit off its feet.

Remove the hardness of my heart
 that’s not where it belongs;
 replace it with your tenderness,
 and sing to me your songs.

And now my sun is shining bright,
my heart no longer bears the blight
of hardness felt in dark of night;
now deep within I feel love’s light.

Premium Member A New Page

The old page has been crammed, used up and torn
Its million pieces scattered, tossed out in the wind
Each beautiful memory reserved; errors, I rescind
Not worthy of preservation, keenly I did burn

Memories of a few special ones who conferred love
With stunning new “songs” enriching my life
They live in me, as they were sent from above
Forever in my heart until the end of all strife!

A new page lies open, crisp, and fresh as morning dew!
Like a child, I am curious of what will be written today
That is so deliberate, unfair, and that would not do
For I trust my Maker; whose gifts require no defray

And I’ve made no new resolutions, no promises I can not keep
Instead, will try living each day in the spirit; a higher place
To praise, love, laugh, dance; yes, cry, when paths turn steep
Strive to be joyful not by my will; surely by divine grace

The Defaulter

I have mountains of debts to repay
With my feeble, shrunk resources
Will I ever be competent to defray?
My will to settle incessantly forces

I repent today why did I borrow?
Why did I take kindness of friends?
Why I needed compassion to endure sorrow?
The strain of generosity never ends

My mother’s nursing and nurturing me
My sister teaching me how to walk
My teachers’ introduction to reality
Debts multiplied, I have a huge stock

My grandma’s lap, a magnetic nursery
The next door girl who used to invite
My father’s shoulders that lifted me
And many times increased my height

What I am today and tomorrow I’ll be
Is the debt of my loved ones and of society
To a great extent, to an enormous degree
I’m a prisoner of conscience, I’m not free

Trust and Obey

Trust and Obey To Find A Way

Maybe I might have a pain in my back
Or my heart needs help from a Cardiac
Surgeon who I do require their loving care
From others seek help, I would not dare.

Education and experience are needed by all;
Could be ever so large or may seem so small
But from their background certainly will defray;
Their shortcomings will be readily on display.

Differences down middle may often be split,
And whatever should never give up or quit;
God only the best for us has He planned
If we trust Him and obey His each command.
