Premium Member The Fading of Candlelight

Their candles burnt brightly long ago
Providing for us and watching us grow
But the years passed by and took their toll
And left behind gaps in our soul.

When we were young they were always there
And that they'd be there forever how wrong we were
Old age comes make no mistake
Accepting it is hard to take.

They looked like giants when we were small
Picked us up when we had a fall
When we were upset they wiped our tears
And supported us throughout the years.

Their task now done, we're left behind
And it makes you think that life's unkind
Here today and gone tomorrow
All that is left is pain and sorrow.

But we remember too, those in their prime
Whose candles went out before their time
One thing I know they wouldn't want you sad
Look back and remember the good times that you had.

Times a great healer people often say
But the void that they leave does' not fade away
Their memories live on in our hearts and mind
Comfort it will bring you, that I hope you will find.

Memories do surface from time to time
When you hear a song or even this rhyme
It's dedicated to those who have gone to their rest
And the years they were with us were surely the best.

( I composed this poem for a recent family reunion dedicating it to our parents and younger members of the family who have gone to their rest.)

Poetic Eyes Gone Blind

I no longer search my memory
I no longer use my pride
I've loss the desire for liberty
I no longer speak for life

What I've said hundreds of times
I'll repeat no more
Time has had it's passage
and totaled up the score

Love has used it's powers
both human and Divine
untold endless hours
dedicating my creative mind

I've suffered the tears while writing
when injustice and love were fighting
Discribed the beauty I saw
with God's intentions totaled in awe

These are words of an empty shell
The mother of peril still shinning
pausing slowly here and there
with rhyming still providing

The old ghost it still lives
relationship more take than gives
imagined love unmasked as doubt
the weapon of fantasy I now live without

I created once a world to inspire
filled it full with realities desires
never once believing I was a liar
just another member of a silent chior

poetic eyes gone blind with time
loss of perceptions creative eye's
I now lie buried with a motor of rust
A poetic heart I no longer trust

Dedication To Two Very Special Women Andrea and Anne Lise

DEDICATION TO TWO VERY SPECIAL WOMEN

I'm writing this poem with pure dedication
To two very special women upon this fine day,
Andrea Dietrich and Anne Lise Andresen your beauty
is like a quaint fascination of pure devotion.
If it weren't for people like you, I would have left long ago,
Andrea you showed me great strength comes internally
I know,
Anne Lise you have a graceful flair with an inner honesty so rare
You showed me and talked to me when I needed someone to
really care.
Weeks ago it seems, thought I was at a real time, time, low, low.
But in realities view, knew deep in my heart of this you do know
You're two very beautiful women who made me face up to my
inner demons.
Now I truly know, I'm still in love with my Grizzly Adams,
Andrea and Anne Lise, hope we'll always be friends
For I'm dedicating this poem to two very intelligent beautiful women.
I no longer have had no inner bad vibrations.
I'm writing this poem with pure happiness and true heartfelt dedication
To two of the very best and special women upon this glorious day,
Andrea and Anne Lise your beauty is like a flowering devotion
I'm really counting my blessings for I'm utterly thankful beyond my emotions.

Premium Member In Memory

where we are born is a coin toss
some are lucky some are not
here we live a sheltered life
ignorant of the injustices in other lands
we take our freedom for granted
and don’t give it a second thought

it’s inconceivable for us to imagine
that many know only oppression
poverty and injustice
we just cannot imagine

blessed are those who speak up
against suppression and abuse
persecution and tyranny

blessed are those who lend their voice
to fight for the rights of oppressed
no matter the cost

‘nothing is more perilous
than the truth in a world of lies’
quoting Nawal El Saadawi
and she would know

a brave woman
dedicating her life
to fight for human rights

It's happy anniversary again

This past years been hard
but soon be on better plain
as we look on to our Lord
His plans are never in vain

Thanks for our yesterday's
our tomorrow's are in His love

my love constantly on your nameplate

( Today is Christine and my 31st wedding anniversary so this is written to celebrate that fact in dedicating this piece to my lovely wife for all her love and care. )

Together We Loved, Laughed & Lived

Devoted family together, we grew.
Building strength, morals & virtues
Experiencing, accepting & learning
Trust & honesty, caring & sharing
Compromising & understanding,
WE LOVED!
United we reached & searched, we grew.
Affectionately sharing fears & tears
Engaging unrehearsed fun & humor
Enlightening the others hearts & souls
Genuinely amused & rejoicing,
WE LAUGHED!
Faithfully dedicating ourselves, we grew.
Committed to our individual life
Our own identities & styles to create
Achieving our goals & conquering strife
Temporarily reunite to enlighten & share.
WE LIVED!
Separate lives, our own realities unfold, we grew.
Apart combating our own failures & defeats
Our lessons & struggles abundant
With illuminated hearts & enlightened souls
Reminisce & commemorate our memories
TOGETHER WE LOVED, LAUGHED & LIVED!

Fruits
come in
abundance,
All yellow fields
burst with golden grains,
Birds sing their songs of grace;
Sunshine shows God’s full embrace.
Our farmers dance with joy and cheer,
Crates are full, all hearts in gratefulness,
Hail bountiful harvest this month of year!

Premium Member Rainbow On Other Side of Sky

Those who saw prairies bloom
Remember well the dams he built
Filling their abundant reservoirs
Growing harvests they cherished
Being the only bridge they had
Standing over turbulent streams.

When the nights reign moonless
And clouds churn mighty storms
Most people still remember him
As ray of light when they were lost
For he was their only lighthouse.

His words enlightened their hearts,
His actions charted pristine paths,
Defying fiercely allure of wrongs
Sacred was the sermon he doled out,
Illustrious was he~ held in regard.

Though he’s gone, he left his mark,
Some have heard his clarion call,
Inspired to follow in his footsteps,
Planting the seeds of his message,
Carrying his torch~ seeds to harvest.

Esteemed is their beneficent voice
Tolling of selflessness and sacrifice,
Dedicating to others purpose of life
Alleviating sufferings of human plight;

Keeping the flame of goodwill alive
Trekking through rains and clouds
Leading the way, guiding how to find
The rainbow on other side of sky.

Premium Member A Tale of Meraki

A tale of meraki

Overcome by the burden she sat teary eyed
Holding closely her two little boys by her side
Immersed in sorrow they had endlessly cried
After her loving husband had suddenly died.

Soaring from her seat elated with newfound joy,
Making herself a promise with an assured ploy,
She picked up her two boys holding them high
Shedding ambivalence boldly with assertive sigh.

Dedicating bravely to parenting with rigor,
Fighting ingress of despair with almighty vigor,
She crushed hindrances powered by love alone,
Aiming meraki resolutely to reach her throne.

As the boys grew older she faced new struggle
With eagle-eyes she kept them out of trouble,
Enamored in plans for sending them to college,
Guiding them to yearn for power of knowledge.

Not retreating when incurable illness struck,
Refusing to surrender to randomness of luck,
Amid doctor's visits she kept working at her job
As if nothing sublunary would cause her to stop.

Her kids grew up to be intelligent young men
Finding success in college with power of pen,
Earning scholarships for duration of all terms,
Getting job offers from many reputable firms.

Having reached destination of her ardent trip
She embraced her kids with a joyous firm grip,
Longing to hold fervently till they reach their prime,
Knowing well she'll be dead in a very short time.

A Life of Love and Light

Approaching life with love

Lived with an open heart,

Irrespective of others differences

Fundamentally shining light,

Everyone welcome to join me,

Oneness and unity on mass

Favouring love over hate,

Lighting a path and a way to

Omniscient love in this world,

Vehemently embracing unity

Everything equal as it ought to be,

Attaching ourselves more to peace,

Negating hate, war and jealousy

Dedicating our time to betterment,

Lifting up the whole of humanity

Irresistibly the light is drawing me

Great fully exposing the love in me

Highlighting just how life can be

Trusting in the love and the light.

Gem

She sat near a pool of brownish waters.
Perplexed by her own reflection.
The wind tender on her hair,
Tossing it eastward.
Drying her imbrued face,
From days of sobbing,
Leaving dull lines that stretched
From her pale eyes, down her haggard lion.
She never wore a smile
As brilliant as the sun.
They only burn,her.
Reawaking her tears
From their subtle base
Beneath her eyes.
She considered them,a tragic representation of her
life.
She decked her face with cowardice.
Never regretted, nor did she skedaddle from it,
The lies she once told herself.
They were now, dreams she woke up to,now and
then.
Expressionless,she sat,
On cold dead grass.
They sent chills to her bones.
Her mind hovering through the empty space,
That is her her own schema.
And the world that lies beneath her bruised nose,
Covered in blood and fear,
The stench of terror,
Quite familiar to her.
They were like marks on her back.
They stayed with you for a life time.
Misery was something she owned.
They burnt in her dark brown eyes.
You could see their talons lashing restlessly,
Drawing those who cared for a scare.
The tears that flooded her garment
Jog the memory of her own consciousness,
That she still did feel something.
Something painfully passionate.
Something,realer than her fragile image.
Those tears were reminders
Reminding her,that she,can still think.
Think of events that stole
All the life she knew,
Will ever know.
She stood at the edge of destitute,
As hard as it was,
It brought her solace.
Her hopes raise at the east,
Settling west with the sun.
She seeks no remedy,
But an audience.
An audience at least.

Premium Member Oh Lord Hear Our Prayers

"Oh Lord hear our prayer. Oh Lord hear our prayer. When we call answer us. Oh Lord hear our prayer. Oh Lord hear our prayer. Come and listen to us." Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus remember me when you come into into your kingdom."

"The joy of the Lord is my strength. The joy of the Lord is my strength. You give me living water so I thirst no more. You give me living water so I thirst no more. The joy of the Lord is my strength."

"If we confess our sins he is faithful and Just to forgive us our sins. Even to them who believe in his name." 1st John 1:9. "For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

The Lord shall hear our prayers and hearken unto the desperate pleas of his children. In times of sorrow and distress. Those of us who put our faith and trust by dedicating our lives and our gifts. To proclaim the glory, wisdom and might of the Most Holy God who will reign forever and forever more.

"Resist the devil and he shall flee from you." The effectual prayer of either a righteous man or woman really does avails much. Keep balance and faith in your faith, in you thoughts words minds and deeds.

"God will take care of you through every day through every way. God will take care of you. God will take care of you."

"Turn your eyes upon Jesus look full in his wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace."

"Confess our sins and leave them far behind us. Turn far away from them. For the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, repent and repent for the kingdom of God is at hand." Each in your own words and each in your own way. Ask the Lord to teach you how to pray, the way he taught his disciples. In the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
