POET'S HONEYMOON
Pretend we're on a poet's honeymoon
Let's dance atop the Massifs on the moon
We'll get our fill of Milky Way's champagne
Behind a chariot of stars, the twain
Each star a stepping stone of Heaven's rune
That leads down to a luminous lagoon
And when Andromeda begins to wane
We'll take our muses to another plane
Riding on the shooting star, we will croon
Rhapsodying together, hearts in tune
Lost in love, our muses will not complain
As we set foot in Sombrero's domain
Each planet, we'll decorate with festoon
And get drenched in Saturn's diamond monsoon
Once heights of passion with words, we attain
Back to earth, where we can pretend again.

Miss Stormy Daniels, that's not her real name
An alias she uses for the adult stuff game
She once had an affair with a high flyer
This was denied and they called her a liar.

Mary Alice loved her man, for him there was no bigger fan
There was nothing she didn’t love about Jack
His shape, his taste, his smell
He swept her away like a bat outta hell
All of it made her warm, loose, even hot
He made her laugh with each shot
Joyful and happy when together, an impossible dream, an inseparable team
Her friends begged Mary Alice
They meant no malice
Leave him and leave soon
If you don’t you may never see June
Mary Alice feels his passion, his allure, his attraction
On her knees, she looks up to him, she smiles coyly
Then guides Jack into her mouth
Deliberate and slow, swirling her tongue to savor his flavor
They found them both the next day because she let Jack stay
Dead on the couch, only heaven’s pull could take her higher
Assaulted by the stench of whiskey wafting like smoke from fire
At once together and alone, Jack Daniels and Mary Alice

Narrative
He stays smooth and strong for me to mingle
Though not quite enough to have a mere single
Sexy, dark, handsome and short
In his sweetness I find I am caught
I look over at the white's and I cringe
It has to be black if I'm going to binge
So I put him in my mouth and I swallow
And with that, I hope more of him will follow

The Devil went down to Colorado
To see if he could pull Charlie's chart.
While Charlie was out snowmobiling,
The Devil would work on Charlie's heart.
But he got a shock when he went for Charlie
For there was a prayer barrier all around him.
Charlie's Guardian Angel had called for reinforcements
And a cohort of God's own angels now surround him.
We done told you before, Devil,
God has His hand on certain men
So you're wasting your time going for Charlie,
Don't even bother coming back again.
Yes, the Devil went down to Colorado
And he never dreamed he'd fail
But all he got for his trouble
Was cold feet and a frozen tail!

MISTER JACK DANIELS AND BEER IS HOW I GOT HERE
I decided to take me a on a little road trip
Just me and Jack Daniels so I took me a sip
Mr. Daniels with a chaser I didn’t need
And neither Jack nor I knew where the road would lead
At mile marker number 15 I drank me some more
Jack told me I needed some food so we stopped at a store
Bought me some bologna, cheese and a six pack of beer
Revved up my ride and threw her in gear
Mr. Daniels demanded I go a lot faster
And pretty soon that brown bottle became my master
A nip of Jack and a sip of beer is all I required
Some people might have but I never grew tired
The road stretched before us as if it were our guide
Exactly where we were headed we didn’t decide
Mr. Daniels sat next to me insisting where I steer
While in the back seat sat my silent six pack of beer
Jack and the beer were having some convoluted conversation
But I told them both to shut up or I’d lose my concentration
I held tightly to the wheel as we sped down the road
With me unawares that soon I’d be carrying a heavy load
My vehicle vied with a violation of the law
We wanted to go to a flick but ended up at the shore
On the way home I made certain no Jack or beer spilled
And then the Judge gave me five to ten for the people I killed

Quintain (English)
The weary sailors were lost at sea,
Hoping to find a guiding light,
Wondering if they would survive this misery,
And escape their stormy plight;
But the mighty waves would not relent,
And roared like thunder through the night,
The ship was tossed with fierce intent,
The sea was showing them its might;
The wind was blowing against them,
And the sailors did not give up their fight,
But they forgot their captain was at the helm,
Who had noticed a beacon shining bright;
The lighthouse was but a speck in the storm,
While turbulent waves gave a sure fright,
Still, far, they could see an island form,
And to them, it was the most beautiful sight;
The captain whistled and steered the ship,
The sailors encouraged, held on tight,
Together, they did not let their vessel flip,
As they reached the island safe alright.

Jack Daniels
We rescued Winfred from the local shelter. What a name.
he was there for a month with no savior. He was nervous.
He jumped a lot. He **** a lot. He wanted to be loved.
I can't help but wonder what he went through on
the streets. He must have been terrified. Abandoned?
separation anxiety? beaten? Abused in some of many ways?
Our college daughter christened him Jack Daniels. Fitting.
He's chewed our kitchen chairs into the trash. I don't blame him.
I'm gentle with him. I think I understand him in a way. I guess
in some ways he and I are opposite sides of the same coin.
Emotionally frightened. Desperate to keep our people laughing
and loving us and not beating us or sending us to our crates.
The tone in your voice can beat me down like an old shoe.
I just want to make you happy! I try so hard. I failed so often.

(Quick off the top of my haid)
Da dibble go down to Georgia
A town in Texas, who knew
He went on de run
He took his six gun
Lookin' for to doo wacka doo.
He comed across a young sure-shot
Targetin' a hickory stump
Dibble feelin' sly
Slithered up to this guy
And patted him upon the rump.
"What you doin' mistuh?
You hyeh lookin' to die?
We'll duel then you'll
End up a dead fool
For layin' yo' hand on my thigh."
Dey faced off and Johnny drew
But de dibble had drawn his too
They pissed in the wind
They humped and they sinned
And de dibble got his koo koo ka joo.

V-1:
Clenched fists...in a barroom of sorrow
Against the bar...thinkin' bout tomorrow
Filling my mouth...from a peanut sack
Down I went...another shot from Jack
V-2:
I picked myself up...got me to my feet
Head spinning...as I sit on this bar seat
I wiped the blood...from my left brow
For tonight...Jack really put me down
Chorus:
All alone...Jack Daniels and me
Tonight my friend...had me feeling guilty
My wife up and left...said that's your life storie
As she left us alone...Jack Daniels and me
V-3:
Woke up this morning...in a Motel of shame
Still holdin' Jack...and my head full of pain
My mind flashed back...to the night before
Watching her leave...me and Jack on the floor
V-4:
I rememberd those words...she'd say everyday
The drinkin' must stop...or I'm going away
Now the last ten years...is all shot to hell
As I cling to my friend...on this floor where I fell
Chorus:
All alone...Jack Daniels and me
Last night my friend...had me feeling guilty
My wife up and left...said that's your life storie
As she left us alone...Jack Daniels and me

Ballad
Charlie went up to heaven...
He and his soul of steel
He said "If you don't mind I'll leave my music behind...
I made that devil a deal"
He came across him when he was young
Sawin' on a fiddle playin' it hot
He won a fiddle of gold against his soul
A lesson the devil never forgot
Charlie rosined up his bow...
And he put the devil to rest
Still, till this day even with his wings
Charlie Daniels played the fiddle the best
(R.I.P.)
Charlie Daniels...
