Has the convenience of technology
inoculated us from reality?
Do androids dream of electric sheep?
I pray the code my soul to keep?
Does your universe live within 4G
Or megapixel infinity?
Which memory lies within
The one that was
Or the one that's been
Or how much gig how much ram?
Which reality is true?
Cyber me
Or cyber you?
Cyber bully
Cyber crime
Cyber hate
Cyber time?
Cyber boxer
Or cyber brief?
Who is the real identity thief?
Cyber pleasure
Cyber pain
Hours spent glaring into the screen
Choosing an alternate username.
Status updates and trending tweets
Fill your mind and rob your sleep.
Clever hashtags and Instagram
Will shape your image and gain more friends.
Is the you you've shaped in cyberspace
The same you I'd see face to face?
We hide behind our computer screens
And criticize with brutal ease.
Virtual reality
Is buying souls of men you see
And robbing the ability to dream real dreams.
I want to conquer something real
That I can grab that I can feel.
I want to touch life and hold on tight
I want to unblock true friends
And "like" real sights.
I want conversation face to face
In real world time
In a real world place.

Cyber Life

The little mouse is scrolling
as the ocean waves are rolling
and they beckon me to come down to the sea

The screen before me glowing
while outside the flowers growing
have a fragrance that is calling out to me

The keyboard keeps me busy
at the same time I am dizzy
yet the birdsongs out my window sound so sweet

While the gigabytes are loading
my poor eyeballs are exploding
and the circulation doesn’t reach my feet

One last video, I say
then another makes its way
interrupting my intentions to go out

One more minute, then I’ll quit
one more hour, here I sit
I’ve forgotten just what life is all about

There is work and there is play
but somewhere along the way
all my play times are so few and far between

Push a button, L O L
while my spirit goes to hell
as I live my cyber life upon a screen

An Ode To Trolls Hackers And Scammers.
.
Hideous evil creatures
Attention seekers
Cowards who hide behind computers
Cold-hearted scavengers
Not unlike preying vultures
.
Childish and pathetic
Bloodsucking leeches
Inflated egotistical heretics
Unhappy with their lot
Blaming everyone else
For what they have got
.
Insecure reprobates
Void of loving
Rabid narcissists
Spreading hate
Incognito dwelling in the dark shadows
Invading innocent victims
Homes and space
A hooded callous destroyer
Without a face
.
Control freaks seeking power
From their lofty tower
Something they lack
But will be paid back
.
Bullies who may escape justice now
But on judgment day they will have to pay
For their evil deeds
And I for one
Can’t wait for that day.

The Cyber Nymph
Loch David Crane
August 18, 1997

Lie back--expose your belly ring
up unto the sky. . .
I just hope when I get down close
it won't put out my eye!

That summer I was 48
and she pert 25;
I left Prozac in the cupboard
and Reality went Live.

I shoulda taken time to stop
and used the vorpal rubber
But 48 he couldn't wait
to find another lover.

So while the Sun was merciless
to sand and skin and sea
"If she swells I'm sure she'll tell,
returning then to me."

I must admit I got her drunk--
I used her just for sex:
Blue and blond with freckles,
suntanned buns and pecs.

But she revealed computer skills
That took away my breath.
Her dancing cyber fingers sang;
I soon saw who was best.

Ol' 48 could bare compute
"Not very fast" she said;
"I've practiced years not to be fast"
gasped I, collapsed in bed.

Then the Sun warmed up the honey--
it dripped twice more in a row.
Ulysses' "rosy-fingered dawn"
beheld her frown, dress, and go.

That freshly-flossed feeling
reverberates my spine
A smile wells up from deep inside
and stays there all the time.

At play I watched this cyber nymph
on Netscape and E-mail;
Her eyes flashed, fingers flying,
shaking golden ponytail.

"You're kinda slow," she grumbled,
terrifying 48;
"But I like that in a man," she grinned,
making me feel great.

My old 12 color monitor
was not enough for her;
More movies, GIFs, and videos
flew by me in a blur.

But 48 he had a trick:
while she stared at the screen
I spoke in her ear, nibbled her neck,
and adored her like a Queen.

I kissed and bit and licked and squirmed
'til wrists and spine went quiet--
The way a mouse's legs go still
when python's on his diet.

And then the honey dripped once more,
the Sun was past its rise.
I felt its rosy hug and knew
that love was in my eyes.

I asked her for her address,
she wrote with @ in code;
I said "I'm too old fashioned"
and asked for her telephone.

So when you dream, sweet 25,
tall cyber nymph of mine,
remember please old 48
who isn't past his prime.

And as the honey of the Sun
drips down into the sea
I'll recall my Cyber Nymph
and she will undelete me.

A Gift From Cyber Space

to my cyber love
whom i may never see
who's words are my comfort
who loves me with keys
you who writes to my soul
apart of my life i give control
between us we share
a box with words
that instantly care's
and feelings preserve
we try to give
some sorts of gifts
but unlike other lovers
we cannot kiss
but give what i can
to you this day
to make you feel special
in my special sort of way
have you ever seen lovers
look up in the night time sky
and one pick out a star
and say that's yours and mine
of all the stars in heaven
i've chosen the best one
the star i chose for you
is the star we call the sun
of all the stars in heaven
none compare to it's light
it's beauty and majesty
to everyones delight
it warms and makes you happy
and even makes you grow
to say the least a lot of other things
that you may not even know
it will always be there
tomarrow and tomarrow
just a simple gift
need never have to barrow
so when morning comes
and you see the dawns first light
think of it as me
sneaking in to your life

(This is dedicated to the one I love.)

Cyber-Love

Thought I'd experienced love, and all the different shades,
Then you came along, and we found another way.
You caught me off guard, I didn't see it coming,
                        Did you?....

Sometimes I wonder if you hoped for all this,
Or if you got caught in your own trap?
Did you really think, you'd fall in love this way?
              Or were you already?....

When we shared those special moments,
And you opened your heart to me.
Thats when you grabbed my soul,
            Held me captivated...

You own this heart of mine,
Your name's engraved inside.
I'll carry you with me forever,
  You know that don't you?...

Kqql Cyber Friend

My best cyber friend
comes from the Mother Land
She's clever and Smart
Of genuine heart
Can you really guess who
Once wrote from the loo?

---------------------------------------

Loo became the name for toilets
because they were all located in
Building #100 and they confused
the number 1 with the alphabet
Letter L - hence loo

My Cyber family

I had no one to speak my heart,
Depression had stolen my spark,

Could not help emotions flow,
Glittering eyes had lost their glow,

One fine evening of early sunset,
I doomed in Ocean of deep regret,

Penned my feelings at poetry soup,
Was welcomed by a warm group,

Washed away in tears was grief,
Cyber family touched me deep,

My feelings as I penned to post,
Within no time came hugs of support,

Critical comments gave me a go,
brainy ones blew away the sorrow,

Contests kept me occupied,
Negative thoughts were put aside,

Exquisite pens mesmerise, age no bar,
Put you to cloud nine and ride the stars,

If you too are sad and crazy,
Welcome to my cyber family !

New Love In a Cyber World

New Love so dear and true,
I don't know how long i've been waiting for you.

This feeling is so strong,
This feeling is so great,
At first I didn't know what was going on,
But now I know it's this cyber state.

'Cause of this New Love in a cyber world,
My heart has jumped, swirled, and twirled,
At this amazing feeling.
My heart that's been damaged,
Is going under this special healing.

New Love in this virtual world,
Thanks to you,
I feel happy
And this feeling is true.

My Cyber Love

Is this real or in my dreams
My worlds unraveling at the seams
You have my heart now take my soul
This cyber love is what makes me whole

I can't believe what's happening to me
Your face so perfect that I've never seen
Your lips so soft I may never touch
I only feel the keyboard I clutch

I need you now I need you forever
In an electric world to be together
A surreal place that plays with the mind
In a cloned world of two of a kind

I consume your words they filter inside
No matter what I do I can't seem to hide
My trembling hands awaiting the rush
When I feel you near to resume this crush

Your my everything my unyielding desire
the spark to the match before it lights fire
The angel within that whispers my name
Controlling the moves in this wicked game

This cyber love Is why I awake
This cyber love is my only escape
The time has come I feel it in my spine
When I look toward the melancholy light and see your on-line.

Haven't written about love for days
Could be at least one or two
So here we go, I'm back at it again
Get ready to go “aww” and drool

Whad'ya get when you cross Mr. Jack
With a charmer here on the Soup
A fairy tale romance of a long distant kind
One that's knocked me for a loop

One of those cyber space love connections
Not naming names but she's sweet
Now I've got ya all guessing real hard
Well I'm sorry, must be discreet

Innocent attractions, are bound to happen
When free to express one's feelings
It allows us to convey our loving thoughts
To someone we find appealing

Innocent is the key word I insist
But it sure gets my old heart a-pumping
With words of love and passion
Harmless but it sure keeps me humming

Cyber Date

She spins erotic prayers that he tattoos
onto his libido.

She clutches
at this man plucked from the void,
prints his likeness over her breasts.

His words,
now as close as a bedtime stories
told to her flesh.

They meet at the edge of an idea.

Motel doors slam. Daylight bustles
through echoing corridors.
From each side of twin lamps
there are tongue-tied, tangled sheets.

Their cyber words
have now turned to bats in the sun.

It was cold November when I joined in.
From a poem of a lady I followed the link.
I found a place where people love to spill ink.
Then put myself on , started a bowl to fill in.

Never I expected a pop up message from an inbox.
From one comment to another who greeted with warmth.
I felt so delighted, my heart starts to celebrate.
It isn't just a site for poets, a big family lives on it!

I started to embrace the love of kind and sweet people.
From different land and places we got connection.
I got addicted and no way to skip at all.
This has been my second home, and never will I go.

A lifetime access was gifted by a princess.
It gave more reasons for my heart to keep writing.
A promise to be present in every poets' event.
Be part of one's journey, be the light on their way.
