I Continue To Rise

MAYA ANGELOU INSPIRED ME WITH THE POEM STILL I RISE

I've been judged by the color of my skin
Treated like i'm a nothing,a nobody
Called by many a name:a fool, a nothing,not even a human
But i continue to rise

They hate me for who i am
They try their best to put me down
They try to fill my heart with despair
But yet i still continue to rise

Every chance they get,its to cause me hurt
They look at me like i'm some kind of abomination
They constantly seek my extermination
But i still continue to rise

Do they hate me for just being me
That i don't follow the crowds,or go with their flow
The fact that i'm different from them
The fact that i don't do the same things they do.

And as if that wasn't enough
My own race at times shun me, and criticize each other
Their constanly going against one another, son against father, daughter against mother
Sometimes i feel trapped in this malice
Smothered in this constant hatery of the races
We all must try to seek freedom and redemption
This is why i must continue to rise

I offer prayers to those in need of prayers
I shed a tear for the fallen and broken, watching the tears become a river
Can you people see this black youth's tears
All i can do now is pray for peace, hope, and better days
In fact, let me say a prayer in hopes of better days
For these reasons i'm gonna continue to rise

I want to say peace and love to people in the east, west, north, and south.
To lift them all out of misery, sorrow, and doubt
R.I.P. and love to those who've come and gone.
Good luck and better days to those who've yet to be born.

R.I.P. to my people who're no longer here.
Love to those who're fighting for a better future
But until the day that i can see you all again
I will continue to live, continue to dream

Through all the pain,sadness,and rain.
The sun will shine one day again.
And we'll hold hands and watch hope rise
Which is why for that I WILL STILL CONTINUE TO RISE..

Premium Member Having Faith To Continue

It's been there for as long as I know
now here I am in my sixty-fifth year
and its still showing it's ugly head
daily confrontation comes so very near

But believe I'm here for a purpose
even when the reasons are not seen
receiving real faith never to give up
going that extra mile make yourself mean

Words are so very difficult to say
no day went past my tongue will block
but my inner strength kept me going
God gave me strength to try to talk

This stammer has truly haunted me
when thinking I'm beating it I fall
but inside I know never give up
don't let it beat you I hear a call

So now I attend a new therapy
hoping and praying for a breakthrough
even just to control it a little better
continue to activate my walking shoe

(Looking back on life's struggles and how faith in God has pulled me through)

Premium Member The Future Will Continue To Shine

No matter the day, the world keeps turning
So in our tiny place in the universe
It remains our choice, our own little segment
No matter the obstacles we transverse

The paradise we feel is in part our own making
Happiness and contentment will come
Beginning each day with a positive outlook
There is nothing we can't overcome

I've lived many years and stored much knowledge
Guess no more than the average joe
But we do tend to pick up some useful information
A bunch more the further we go

So I offer my experience to you younger folks
As hard as it sometimes appears
A silver lining is just beyond the horizon
Trust me, you have nothing to fear

For no matter your day, tomorrow will appear
With it's promise of happier times
With a right frame of mind anything's possible
The future will continue to shine

Hungry rides its pale horse

Nature's Single Dad - the Australian Emu 2 the Days Continue

NATURE’S SINGLE DADS:
THE AUSTRALIAN EMU

The next sixteen months:

CRR-ACK ~ “That’s loud,” he exclaims getting up on his legs, so knobbly and thin.
He looks down to the ground,
where he first heard the sound,
and says, “Now it’s your turn to begin.”

Hours go by, as each little chick tries to break free of its protective cover.
They all work their way,
throughout the long day,
then all greet their father-come-mother.

For his new family he breaks the last shell. To his fluffy striped chicks, he’s their mother.
As they grow older under Dad’s shoulder
he will nurture, each sister and brother.

In time, they will leave his home on the dance floor; a single dad, with chicks he will roam.
With high steps he will prance.
They will learn every dance
for survival, before he goes home.

With the changing seasons, Emund finds reasons to leave his young chicks on their own
Others join with his brood
now there’s plenty of food,
Emund turns and again, he’s alone.

Not taking the chance of being late for the dance Emund picks up his speed on the track.
They won’t meet at his gate
if he gets home too late
to dance to the rhythms of the outback.

The Australian Emu; one of Natures' Single Dads worthy of a mention for the survival of the species in the extremes of the outback.

I Continue To Dance

This house I live in chose me long ago, because
somehow I had already been there before it was
completely built.
I remember that I had gone upstairs to see what
it was like, and when I arrived in the master bedroom
I remembered that the sliding glass door was opened and
the partially closed vertical blinds flowed gently in the wind.
God heard me say then if I were to live here that I would have
enough space to dance and glorify Him.
Up against a range of beautiful mountains my house does reside.
When I desire I move the blinds aside to gaze upon the beautiful
Catalinas so grand and tall.
I am never truly alone here for my Father God and my little dog
keep me company, keep me loved and happy.
Full of unspeakable joy; as do many of my neighbors here.
My hope is that I do the same for them.
I have lived without a TV for quite some time now and do you know
what? I don't miss it much and really not at all!
For the news didn't always have the greatest things to say about
the state of affairs that we are in; how evil man can be; who killed
who; famine and diseases seem to reign inside the world's headlines.
When there are good things to report it seems precious few.
But inside this house with the music always on I continue to dance
and praise Him; and I pray for everyone and everything that needs prayer.
I lift it all to the Lord as I continue to dance and praise.
And then things become brighter and full of certain hope even if there seems
to be outside a howling wind.

The Midwife Pg 1 Continue of Tater and Junebug

Mame Blackwell, small light-skinned woman with harsh gray eyes.
That told a grave story of her encounters with death and hardship.

The edge of her mien was sharpened by the blade of the wicked and taken grip.
And her spirit for life was drained years ago, and her tears have long since dried up.

She had a stern manner of makeup.

She was a non-conformist with modern styles of flimsy dresses.
She wore a white scarf around her head to hide her thin gray tresses.
Her skirts were faded and worn, and drag the Carolina soil with her.
And the thin blades of grasses likewise concur.

For many years she wrapped her strong twig-like fingers around small bodies of all hues and gender and pulled them into this rigorous existence.
With tenacity and persistence.

Many rugged seasons ago, she squatted in the center of her one room shack and pushed to the floor her one and only child.
To her, at that moment in time life seemed reconciled.

She was young in years but knew not how many.
The ones that possessed her; thought little of the importance of telling her., and this insensitive act was the object of her acrimony.

Transitions Continue....

Transitions continue….

I don’t know when it happened….or when I knew….
It was so subtle….I was just thinking about you one day….
And then couldn’t stop thinking about you all day….
I started itemizing life….things I like….things I love….

I love listening to your voice and all your stories….
I love the melody of your snoring….peaceful sleep….
The lyrics of your heartbeat….singing in my ear….
I love the strength of your embrace….the serenity….

I wish I could have been there….to comfort you….
After each nightmare….after each disappointment….
To lullaby you back to blissful rest….hold you….
Until all your lifelong dreams could come true….

Why don’t we recognize love each time….?
Why is it so different….so much the same….?
It’s not like I’ve never known it in my life….
Can you have more than one obsession….?

Is it “falling in love”…. how does it happen ….?
Is it “being in love” …how does it reveal itself….?
It can hit you like a brick….or like a feather…
How many times does it come to you in a lifetime….?

I don’t know the answers to these questions….
I think it may be better that way….mysterious….
Hitting you unexpectedly….mercilessly….
Then there’s no way to stop it or change it….

Premium Member We Cannot Continue Like This

We cannot continue with this hatred for fellow Americans.
Regardless of political party, views and presidency.
The hatred fueled and projected onto others will destroy us.
We must take a strong look at the issues at hand that led us here.
The division is more than I have ever seen and must be bridged.
It is imperative that we tolerate differences, to find a way together.
There have been politicians and media instigating a big divide.
We can only choose now to reach the other side, for our country.
Most everyone wants a safe, lawful, free place to live.
This does not mean bullying, rioting and outright revenge.
Americans have seen enough and had enough, this is true.
It is time for us to take the most positive actions we can take.
Be as honorable as we can and reach out to others with respect.
We must return to core values to stop this spiraling downfall.
Some of the things happening are spinning to leading no-where.
I truly believe it is time to look at why we have reached this place.
Be not what you see in the chaos, but what you truly believe inside.
Take not the lawless actions that have somehow been empowered.
Stand strong for yourself, for others, for our home of this land.
For only in moral strength will we return to a just and free society.
This is the way, because our free will gives us the ticket to do it RIGHT!
                         We cannot continue like this!

I Promise I Will Continue To Write

Even during the dearth of light...
I promise I will continue to write...
Because my life is there in my ink...
I live to express what I think...

Even during the distress of night...
I promise I will continue to write...
No matter whether I live or die...
I will keep you awake...or at least try...!

Words pregnant with emotions...
Deep like the fathomless oceans...
I will keep on pouring endlessly...
Unleashing the silence nabbed in me....!

The storms that rise inside my soul...
That kindle a thousand tears to roll...
Freeze themselves in my thoughts with grace...
In my diary which I deftly place...!

Sometimes a rebel...& often...
A romantic is born from my pen...
I lay my heart in my verses...
My fingers portray my greatest forces....!

The bleak & black world that passes through me...
Becomes pleasant & bright as you can see...
Tempests turn to tender thoughts...
Igniting inspiration and sheer guts...
The harder the hindrance, the harder I will fight...
& I promise I will continue to write.....!
