Best Contentment Poems
Whatever the offerings of time may bring
Whatever song my heart chooses to sing
On life’s small pursuit I shall meditate
Elysian splendor around me, I appreciate
The simplicities of pastoral living unfurl
I’m graced in your stellar light, a cosmic pearl
Serene contemplation, moments well spent
A transcend of intellect, I pursue contentment
Humbled, a mochila drapes my shoulders
Now weightless, old tomes heavy as boulders
Once laden with Maslow's hierarchy of needs
The cause of sight itself as Plato laid the seeds
Streets of an unclean soulless city no more
Once blemished and ugly as a repellant eyesore
Until this vacant shell had found release,
acceptance paralleled an inner peace
A new perspective can only see the beauty
of the craftsmanship and the ingenuity
On this celestial hike I embrace “carpe diem”
A lesson learned in this hour spans a millennium
The power and value of each moment
however brief, I walk along as an exponent
Unfurling love that rids me of my emptiness
Colloquially speaking I have found happiness
Although humanity continues to be enslaved to corruption,
life's small pleasures seen in creation
inspire a sense of wonder and awe.
Nature's tenacity and resilience
are ours to imitate.
Bright stars that shone behind the clouds
Magical fireworks lit the sky
New hopes and dreams danced round unshroud
While uncertainty tore the heart
Leaving stains 'pon the blue lined sheet
New Year can be an awesome start
Peace, joy, contentment slipped right through
An assurance no matter what
Everything good will soon breakthrough
New Year ride the light of sparklers
Dance round uncensored and uncut
Break off borders, release blinders
Bright stars that shone behind the clouds
Peace, joy, contentment slipped right through

Theme: New Year~~~Think outside the box!!!
8 syllables per line( If I can count to 8)
If time were to end and suspend us here
my gladness would evoke excited shouts
for here peace radiates its presence clear
and removes life's muzzle of puzzled doubts.
I now know how blissful contentment feels;
like paradise has surpassed ideals.
Retracing our footsteps
smiling with the
beating of our hearts
the journey has gone full
circle
the grey streaks of
your hair more visible now
the laugh wrinkles on my
face a
witness to laughter
shared.
We still share the laughter
you still hold my hand
When we take our little
walks before sunset
I still feel safe in
your embrace…

My mind is stressed, my nerves are frayed and it seems that
life is full of bad days.
I come home tired worn out and torn. I sit at my table with my head
in my hands and slowly drift off to a quiet peaceful land.
A place where rage gives way to peace.
I dream of blue skies and green rolling hills no crime no wars no one kills.
my mind drifts softly to places I've never went and my dreams fade
slowly one into the next. No one to hate, no one to resent, as I sit here
sleeping at my table of contentment
Ah, she, in divine contentment sleeps,
Her soft, sweet breath fills the air.
As I lovingly pet her soft, angelic hair.
She is my Muse, in her, my ideas steep!
It Only Comes From Within
While sought eagerly,
mirage like, it vanishes as you approach,
only to move further beyond you.
It does not come from without,
nothing that you have done,
rather it only wells up and warms and sates from within.
The end of the day-
Camped on the Canadian Shield of the Boundary Waters
overlooking the reach of Saginaw.
Or the closeness of Other Man Lake as
the fire crisps rise to mingle with the stars overhead under a full moon
while loon’s call.
The end of the day-
in a well worn chair in the great log room
before the flowing glow of coals,
as you recycle the memories of the day in silent quietness.
That time of day-
when the young children have been
put to bed, given their glass of milk,
prayers given and tucked in,
the driving rain sound drenching the metal roof above.
That time when you are aware
that a deep breath slowly taken in
cleanses and releases you from whatever there was.
Contentment, fullness,
only comes from within, welling up.
Contentment not with what you have done,
only with the acceptance of your wholeness, with all its richness.
The fullness of who you are, shed of vanity,
shed of desire, only who you are.

I as look at the majestic sky,
such beauty dazzles my eye.
I am in awe of the master's touch,
he was so skillful with his brush.
All the colors and hues are so divine,
everything I behold is so sublime.
As I notice the vast blue firmament,
I embrace peace and I am so content.

You can keep your cats and your dogs
I have a bunny love, and we are both readers.
You can keep your fish and your turtles.
We are lost in the love of each other, both leaders.
You can have your real world, it makes us both hiss.
You can keep your politics, we love our heart-felt fantasy.
We are lost in a world of make believe bliss,
We are happy and snug, and warm as can be.
My bunny and I, our books, and our window.
We stay inside snug, warming ourselves without fuss.
My bunny and I, best friends, loving each other so.
Your real ways and real things have nothing on us.
As I reflect for a moment to consider my content,
My soul is astonished to decipher a life well spent.
I hope it's not my mood that will soon pass away;
But rather, a truth that I will discover today.
You see, I have pouted for most of my existence
Despite a determination that kept me going the distance. .
Wealth has escaped me, and beauty has crept away
Struggle has been my partner as I've ventured everyday.
Being my worst enemy is an emotion I have mastered
While defeats overshadow my accomplishments ever after.
And, I've often declared that should I ever pass away,
It should be memorialized as being my happiest day.
So, I stand here bewildered by the notion I am teasing
I'm blindsided thinking that life might have been pleasing.
I have slipped on my journey, but never did I fall-
Maybe the universe has blessed my life path after-all
And if so, how could my thinking have been so corrupted
And, why is my mindset being so sweetly interrupted?
Whatever the reason and for whatever the measure
I welcome the enlightenment and delight in the pleasure.
I want to live
Where I can find my soul
And snuggle up to it
To keep me safe and warm
That's where I would stay
Forever and a day

Inspiration of Love
At the moment that I saw you,
Somehow my heart just knew
That I would have a kind of life
Filled with loving you.
In the moment that you touched me,
As you pulled me to your side
Your arm slipped down around my shoulder
My heart has no place to hide.
In the moment that I touched you,
I felt your heartbeat beneath my hand
The look I saw there in your eyes
It spoke a language I could understand.
The moment that you held me,
Is somehow frozen in time
A place of sweet contentment
Engraved in this heart of mine.
At that moment when I felt your heart;
Gently dancing with my soul.
To My Late Wife
R.I.P. Shannon, I love you!
Was happiness just a veil?
Disillusioned by its radiance,
should we worry more?
The Nightmare creeps,
always lurking behind the curtain,
fear flows in its vein, cursing us with burden.
Meaning is not found in happiness's presence,
but in the absence of Nightmare's grip.
Are we sober in its hold,
or does normalcy require happiness?
Soothing and drowning,
happiness is an addicting substance.
Why weep under its absence?
Embrace life without an added ecstasy,
without fear of the nothingness.
Find contentment on the path with the least Nightmare,
unbound by the vine of joyous roads.
Startled sprinkles twinkle and toll
The time ignores my grunts and groans
Everyday empties its force of roll
Cannons sound -- and mothers moan
Between the place where time is not
And heaven’s hell slams its door
Little men with giant heads hot
Are lost beneath the fluid floor
New nothings interrupt the waste
Of petty playthings -- argue -- lose
Experience coats with sugar taste
The salty melancholy muse
Perhaps -- possible -- should -- could -- can
“I saw it rise and fall alone”
Reaction time relative to man
Depends on tendered tailored tones
Wishes want thickness, color and cover
Design for moth and spider to loan
Answers are easy like lionized lovers
And time ignores my grunts and groans
