Not Ready For My Close-Up

My teeth have gotten crooked.
My eyes sport puffy bags.
My lashes lost their lushness
And my neck, once taut, now sags.

My wrinkles now have cousins
Come to line my washed-out skin,
But it isn’t any mirror that
Reveals the shape I’m in.

For that white-haired older lady,
Peering back across the room,
Is the way the whole world sees me
When I’m on the screen on Zoom.

Far Away Close Up

Right beside me in the car,
but not here at all.
Are you with her?
Who is she?
Do I care?
Should I,
would it matter?
No.

I ride along in quiet.
Thinking of nothing,
but the desert...
passing by,
not for the first time,
certainly not for the last.

Dreams now gone,
the way of all dust.
Blown from the path,
to be picked up by others,
and then re-lived.
Repeating the same disasters,
the same arguments in unison,
casting doubts on the very term...
"ever after".

Prince charming,
the beast...
more like the mouse,
without a house.
Humans lie.
It is a talent that sets up apart,
from the animals,
that swing from trees.
But not by much,
as they also throw
waste at each other,
and touch at the wrong times.
Like dung beetles,
greedy to climb aboard.

Soon, we will not have to speak again.
We will both be free,
to live lives apart.
But she will find,
you are not,
a cherry tart,
as first supposed.

their uniqueness
sets each one of them
apart
free to
celebrate
diversity-
distinctions make us who
we are.

Ready For the Close-Up

hello,
i am ready to be seen now
the bush shield is scabbing over

hello,
i am ready to explore now
the implantation fever is breaking

hello,
i am ready for all roads now
the butterflies with upset stomachs are now fully coated

hello,
i am ready to erase all the question marks now
the punctuation pacification has now been adequately bypassed

i am shaking the hand of all with the welcome mat smile
the tour guides of this new chapter threw away my bookmark collection
a gentle breeze blows as i take full responsibility for the previous abstract art i created
now comprehension is like the calming sound of a flowing water from a spring in the country
i skip rocks like a multiple choice inquiry and eagerly await the destination of the reply vie effervescent experimentation
this circle will not be broken this time....because THIS TIME GOD IS FULLY INVOLVED....

Close Up the Heart

close up the heart
no longer in service
no longer open for business
doors have been slammed shut
for good this time
the space has been
condemned
set for demolition
the wreaking ball
has crashed into
the building
the walls have came
toppling down

Photographs are memories of life developed in dark rooms of reflection

Exposure and fixation for a moment and beyond

A couple holding firm their togetherness covered in aquamarine hues

Blue focus a moon the earth horizon and foothold

Some of them require no more than an aperture and infinite moment

Whichever way you turn them they shed intricate light

The centre remains where all angles meet regardless of perspective

Like a Rorschach Test with one half missing

Azure Cyan and Sapphire shades condensed on a palette in motion

A kiss and embrace hanging from film clips waiting to dry

Stop bath fixer and final rinse then reality immortalizes another illusion

Cerulean dreams held by intimate clouds and lips intertwined

A picture in which artist and models change positions and convergence

Glimpse of concern and subtle impermanence

Turquoise surrender and teal skies as comets lie in passionate waiting

Spectre and shadows solemnly overcast and yet translucent

Captured on chromogenic paper and free as the stars nevertheless

A picture holds pure truth while the Universe shifts

A Close Up Enemy

In and near the present of a one
destroying all that greatness comes
underlined statements occur
the moment of a back hit with words
negativity rehearsed
the torture of talents
not to be heard
a will to keep moving on
forward with Faith
goals will not be forsaken
the enemy succeeded the limits
a growth with success has blossomed
the enemy surprised
backfired, now successful
in more than words can say
all negativity endless
 The BLESSED way was made.

Magnification

Close up, seeing it, it looks nothing like the object that it is.
Why does the microscope show the minuscule imperfections of objects?
I guess when things are magnified, you can see the individual disfigurements,
the atoms, molecules, bacteria, that are out of place.
But in a way, these slight quirks form originality and beauty.
In the same way that every snowflake is unique, every Leatherleaf fern
is different, even if they have the same chemical composition.
One electron out of place. One less proton. That's all it takes.
Every spike of the fern, every vein in the leaf, is the only one like it.
