Me, Myself and Critique

Allow me a moment to deconstruct,,
Every wall characteristically set up.
And all the fabricated stories from corrupt
Individuals; Residuals of a past,
I broke through and shattered like sugar-glass.

Let me tell you; I'm not invincible.
My personality is not intrinsical.
My body nor mind isn't irresistible.
Sometimes my heart and my head cosmically clash,
Emotion covers my face like a rash.

I'm a disastrously lousy liar;
I can't hold piss for pounds if its worth a few pence.
In debates I can never just "sit on the fence",
I need to say my bit no matter how intense
The opposite argument may make sense.

I like to drink like most twenty year olds,
Though sometimes I drink more than my emotions hold,
And sometimes I let those emotions slip in tears
And open my heart to all my sorrows and fears.
But god forbid I should have a pained heart.

God forbid I should live a life of youth,
And drink from it all the human traits of life's juice.
When happiness and suffering go hand in hand
I still bleed love and loyalty from every gland...
...Because I believed in those sacred fruits.

Well just because I build a barricade,
And paint on a brave face to replace my true self
Don't categorically place me on that shelf;
Among alcoholics, arrogant clowns and thieves,
Who handed you the gavel to judge me?

Though all of this stuff may file under "Me",
Don't think I wouldn't move sun and earth, part the sea,
To bring to you what you hold dearest of the dear.
That I wouldn't hunt through fire-filled chasms, your fears.
Because, what is love without a few tears?

Blood Is Thicker Than Water -Farewell

Blood is thicker than water (farewell)

Burdened and scarred by DNA
Passed on to us without our say yet
Blood is thicker than water you say?
Characteristically speaking at least
Yes this much is true

Blood coagulates, dries up at such a rate
Impermanent - given certain conditions -
As flaking paint on the family portrait
Carries unknown diseases causing delicate hearts
Quite literally to break

Water the poor relation oh so giving
Life force indeed of all things living
Cleanses, refreshes, vitality brings
Enriches life prompting hale hearts
Passionately to sing

Crimson blood dripping oozing
Pure water flowing clear and soothing
I know now which is my choosing

Blood is thicker than water they say
This I will dispute
Till my last drop has bled away

Premium Member Where Red Waters Gather

I live in a state shaped by glaciers long ago
In the middle of the heat, we want it to snow
The breadwinner of many homes is what we grow
Here comes another winter, around forty below
Watch out for black ice roads wherever you go
Summer is six months away, yep, don't ya know
Melting snow makes for one big old muddy hole
Changing seasons so often, a backcountry expo
Minnesota fearing Green Bay Packers on a roll
Wilderness found up north, catch it on a pole
Mississippi flowing to its west into the soul
Universities preparing us, system educational
Wisconsinites moving forward on our loam soil
Architectonics with Frank, ingenuity and toil
Hydroelectrical powered first on the Fox flow
Conservationists residing, protecting fallows
Sesquicentennials of livestock, corn in silos
Characteristically unique, breadbasket tempos

Lights ,Camera, Action!!!!!!!!!!

Characteristically speaking,
I am in awe of you,
Make believing, while convincing us all that you are true.
Art imitating life,
Life from the depth of imagination,
profoundly saying,
I am here, SURPRISE!!!!
I have arrived!!!!!
Shakespere himself would roll over with envy,
and T.S. Elliot would smile with what you bring.
Keep doing the things that you do,
with that magic that you make.
Fore all of the world is a stage,
and you provide the light,
the world is your audience;
as you shine so bright,
As the flash of their cameras,
command your action,
and the captivating passion!!!!!!

Academy award winner,
thank you for sharing your gift,
It is truly everlasting!!!!!!!

Poetry, Profound

Spookily Bookily
Dramatic apogee
Edgar A. Poe's verses
Death from curses

Quite artistically
characteristically
His poems were renowned
to be profound

Gloomily Doomily
So methodically
he wrote of never more
and sweet Lenore

Poe was positively
Imaginatively
authoring horrid themes
to dire extremes

Foolishly Ghoulishly
Did Poe write lucidly
Now dearly departed
Tell Tale Hearted

Poems were tactical
Anticlimactical
He wrote of misery
and mystery

Three Double-Dactyls

I.

Higgledy piggledy
Roger de Coverley
Fonder of hoofing it
Than of romance

Found himself typified
Characteristically
King of the Reels and the
Lord of the Dance.

II.

Willety wallety
William the Conqueror
Wanted his subjects to
Quail at his power,

Crowing to Londoners
Hyperdespotically,
“Look, everybody, I’ve
Built me a tower!”

III.

Rickety tickety
Wolfram von Eschenbach
Sought for a subject to
Fashion a tale;

Tiring of writing so
Eschatologically,
Rather, he turned to the
Quest of the Grail.

NB. The nonsense opening of a Double Dactyl was originally, and is still most frequently, "higgledy-piggledy", but it can be any alliterative pair of dactyls. Here, the opening of the second is from the adapted version of the Scots folksong "Wee Cooper o' Fife" in the schoolhouse sequence of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds-- though some postings online mishear it as "willaby wallaby" or "willicky wallicky". The nonsense opening of the third is from Tom Lehrer's "The Irish Ballad".

Mr Blobby Puts the Christmas Tree Up

Running over full speed to the tree,
The largest of all the items,
He clapped his hands excitedly together,
Three times rhythmically,
And smiled characteristically.

He got there and hugged the fir,
But its branches stabbed and hurt,
Such that all he could do was fall,
And cry loudly, wailing to all,
For anyone to see his call.

After someone motioned to him,
To serious up and rise,
He stood there a minute and then bent,
Grasped the tree with his two hands,
And embraced it as if a girlfriend who stands.

He was taken by Christmas fir remarkably,
Because it felt as incapable as him,
But it felt at the same time completely active;
All in one, though very much indiscreetly,
The two things went together simultaneously.

Eventually he set his new tree, his girlfriend, up,
Cherl, and settled her in her soil filled pot,
Using his fists to pat the soil flat,
And steady the tree which seemed to joust with him,
For attitude, and for a personality without vibes dim.

Soon he just got on with the job,
And he picked up somehow the lights,
But they were plugged into the socket;
So they electrocuted hm which made him jump back,
Feeling the impulse which gave him a whack.

He just looked at Cherl and was claimed,
By her solidity and her staunchness at the occasion;
So after a bit, continued to decorate with Christmas balls,
Although they dropped from his grasp often,
And then he added different shapes and angels to soften.

And lastly he went back to the lights,
Untangled them in a difficult process,
Hung them round and round and round,
Until they made a spiral shape downwards,
And the lighting of them took away his words.

It took him ages to complete, days,
But Cherl was delighted and alight;
He felt as if he’d achieved something great,
As it was like receiving a gold star from a primary teacher;
The event did wet his cheek as he was a reacher.

Premium Member The Forgotten Soldier

The train trundles on, leaving behind at each station a soldier with his own past
Heavyweight in its endeavours portraying its only passengers as its un-holy cast

Each face a palpable grey, their blackened eyes sunken within their vast sockets
Each sat at their given seats characteristically sullen, with their hands in pockets

One only feels the coldness, within each carriage that descended upon them all
As not one ice breath plume emanating from the mouths, or nostrils did sprawl

Lifeless grey of their eyes gave nothing away of their hell, or of the horrors seen
Of a war where no real moral understanding is ever found for any of us to glean

Each un-sung hero now taking his last journey home, each to its own eternal life
Each one given their own time to offload their burdens of the unforgivable strife

Only once the reality of what has happened did the train lessen its speed to halt
As the one last soldier left his seat, then upon the platform made his last assault

He was going home now, but with no lessening of the grey pallor within his eyes
His home a cold grave now, lying under the darken un-forgiving, harrowing skies

He had fought for his country with an unquestionable honour, lay now as forgot
His remains under a white ensign Portland headstone buried within its own plot

A young man with no wife, or child, just parents themselves long gone deceased
His secrets of the war held within this mound of earth remains to all unreleased

So if passing a graveyard, and upon your eyes a lonely regimental grave you see
Place a flower of remembrance and set a well-earned soldier from his sleep, free

Perspectival

When perspective’s slant is romanced, being slightly awry, tricking you and I It’s not by chance the colored lines danced With the right view, greater is the cue than Pi Characteristically witness a sophisticated merry-go-round The inner mirror reflects, on tilted corridors of light like a pinball, in the hall rolling very slow and inbound Albeit vanishing points of the dawn song, foreshortens the night Perceptions are rarely challenged, by the centric imagination The art festivals are but touching points, of a la carte spectacle like a group of panoramic ghostly stares, following the emendation Looking past errors of diagrammatic, to the pulsing electrical The heart, of an acoustic guitar is a hollow place, that must be filled, while Strums of color are awoken in the middle of the day, by the wind Drums dance about without a care, and while the audience is thrilled all good things must and so this seer’s fair will come to an end

Split Personality

God-given Package, I'm weak,
Strong mentally, but matters physique,
Endure insult, to haughty meek,
Urchin servility, the reluctant beak!

Fury pressurized, wrath submerged,
Luck withdrawing, ego gulped,
Jealousy fostered, though sanity burped,
Bearing, enduring, a character developed!

A violent being develops indside,
Emerging obscene, nothing to abide,
The silent sacrifices, virulent when unified,
The two beings characteristically colide!

The meek ogre, that's an identity,
The vulnerable resistance, that is tenacity,
Antagonistic personalities, that is duality,
Accepting presence, a reticent alacrity!

Oh mother nature! Why is the sun’s wage overpaid?
Considering its strict principle of full execution
being its major peculiarity, especially when handling a task.
It discharges dominance which makes weather’s thought go blank
to thrill climate in rejecting any form of negotiations.

Exhibiting such zeal and dedication
without an iota of sympathy
gives comfort no certainty of operation
but with the advancement in human intelligence,
freedom has been served from such anger and energy.
