Captivating Chapters

"Every day is a page to write a new story"

Each minuscule grain of sand
   running rampant through
     hourglass' prismatic time
  at hand, awaiting life's resolve
to seize a brand new adventure,
like the dickens' nimbly flair
  enthusiastically captivating chapters
      of a poetically inspired existence
   amidst everyday's triumphantly
             conquered reawakening

Love Her Chapters

Carress her spine,
Finger the folds of her pages,
Make love to her letters,
Touch her where she is most fragile,
Make her bindings come undone.
Love her, nakedly.
Love her like your favorite book.

The Chapters of Our Lives

We enter this world and the story begins
The early chapters a distant and hazy memory
As awareness grows we begin to capture memories
Most of which being those that define us as an individual
We learn from our loved ones and peers as our persona takes shape
As we progress and more chapters are added "who we are" is firmly defined
That person that we have become now interacts with others’ lives
We love, we form prejudices, we project our likes and dislikes
All of this is captured by time and forms a storyline by which we will be remembered
Hopefully, these chapters will tell a story of compassion and caring
Unfortunately, this is not always the case as some take another path
If this be so, then the middle chapters will be filled with turmoil
As always time moves on and the chapters of our lives continue
Advancing age brings thoughtfulness resulting in either pride or regret
That which we are, that person that we became many chapters ago
now stares endlessly at a world moving too fast to comprehend
To live the final chapters of our lives we must do so with the realization
that past chapters now cast in stone cannot be rewritten
Our book of life is of our own making and each chapter defines choices that
we and we alone made based on factors that we faced.
Yes, sometimes our choices were seemingly not of our own making but in the end we must take ownership of the story line for chapters to follow.
As the final chapter of our life unfolds we either look inward and commend
ourselves for doing the best that we could - with no regrets and/or,
we look outward seeking the hopefully healing hand of our maker, or that
“power" out there that we perceive might conclude our final chapter with a
journey ending in restful peace throughout eternity.

Pain's Chapters

The story of my stricken heart is told simply by her absence,
with the opening of the book timed perfectly with her exit from my life.
The hard words conspire and find their rhythm in between the lines of my feelings,
and echoes somberly from the preface to the tome's epilogue.
Page by page the joyless lines compile as pain's chapters reveals the awful plot,
eagerly awaiting the final word, while fearing how my afflicted heart will end.

Contemplate This : Chapters 1-6

Chapter 1:

Contemplate this...
End of life,
Forever darkness,
A place to hide,

( A middle aged man stands
close to the edge. Enveloped
in darkness he looks down,
rain whips his face. In the
blackness below,
splinters of white, as waves
crash)

Chapter 2:

Contemplate this...
Accept...life is bad,
Depressed, oppressed,
Time line sad,

( He ponders, is this how it will
always be? should it end here?
, an exorcism of sadness)

Chapter 3:

Contemplate this ...
Those who wronged,
Synthetic weak,
You... inherent strong,

(But no, saved by a lucid
moment, a thought takes hold ,
not to let the selfish
confessions of another lead to a
leap of lost faith)

Chapter 4:

Contemplate this..
Run away,
Re-invent,
A born again day,

(He steps back, walks away
, leaves all behind, and
whilst others sleep oblivious, a
new path beckons , to live , to
love and to be loved)

Chapter 5:

Contemplate this...
A giver of hope,
Someone to hold,
A reason to cope,

( He sees her, they
share a glance, they share a
few tentative words, they
share the same
desires)

Chapter 6:

Contemplate this...
Dreams fall true,
Entwined with an angel,
Loved are you,

( He finds the purist of love, the
hurt is no more, happiness
floods his every moment.....he no longer
stands close to the edge )

Chapters

Our lives are like stories
Like the ones found in books
We all play our part in the plot
But you were a bit more than just a character
Babe, you were a chapter

Chapters begin and end so quickly
So fleeting, like the way we would flirt
A heart-pounding beginning with a dry, cold close

I'm saying good bye
This is for every time I could have cried
This is for every night that you forgot I exist
But I haven't shed a tear on you and, boy, I'm not gonna try
This is for every single mean thing you say
This is me deciding not to pretend I'm looking the other way
This is something I'm doing for me
So good bye, cause no longer will I be the girl who is blind

The chapter has sealed itself shut
So sit in your room and play some mean songs about me
I don't care, I know somebody with nicer hair

As a kid you must have been the bully on the playground
I'm done being the girl you give affection to and push down
And I'm tired of standing on the sidelines while you try to run the show
I'm gonna move on with my life
Prove there are things you will never know
There are things that books can't tell you
Things only the heart can understand
You don't have one of those
So, pardon me, if I don't consider you a man

The chapter has ended but I won't shed a tear
The future's too bright for me to look back to darkness

Chapters of Life

When one chapter of your life is finished
You feel as if a part of you has diminished
You feel emptiness, sadness and pain
But after a while you are again happy and sane

Isaih Is Missing On Chapters

As i read the last chapters of Isaih
in the hours middle of the night
i encountered them missing verses

they tell the story of Isaihs wife
tell of Isaih's journey to heaven
and his fight with pollynesians

a race of females who enslave
by use of technology and magic
they had taken over the gadgets

Solomonic devices used for communication
Isaih managed to defeat the pollynessians
and destroyed all the solomonic gadgets

Isaih gave up his spirit and was taken
to heaven because heaven will need his
help again in the future

the future when the solomonic devices rise
and the pollynessians try to gain dominion
once again through the technology

they hyponotise the user of the gadgets
the user becomes a worshiper of pleasure
and material wealth worshiper

that night am sure i read the missing chapters
the story is still very clearly in my mind
next day i searched for the chapters

to no avail and i wasn't sure any more
whether i had dreamt up
the whole thing

For Steven Joseph Way

Dreading chapters yesterday years inked about us,
hour after minute, I delayed my inevitable look.
I feared pain from words about married times of us.

The pages lay dusty, fading undisturbed.
My heart shakes a throb as I attempt each word.
I strain my eyes to read chapters about our world.
Imagery leaps with emotions my heart will keep
including all hurt, ache-fraught inside of me.

Time after time, I recall fondling that book.
There were no pages with words explaining why,
so acceptance of our ending was my only ally.

The Remaing Chapters

I fall-
tumbling silent,
as water cascading the drain,
acid rain pounding the dark
asphalt,
Toronto welcome me home.
Heartbroken and raw;
the vapid shell and carcass,
a scrap of paper, empty,
white, incomplete,
drifting silent through the
streets,

With chapters still unwritten.

Chapters Being Written

The pages are turning, one page at a time.
A story is written line upon line.

Echoes from the past pushing me forward even still
What is ahead I do not know, but something urges me to go

Life has its ups and downs and we must experience them all
With expectation, with some reservation I feel the call.

Not afraid to move ahead, standing still is not my way
So moving forward looking for to a better day.

Pausing only for a moment to look where I have been
Then continuing on to the next journeys end

Life is a story being told. a book full of chapters
Some made of pure gold,

We keep all the chapters, some good and some bad
For there are lessons to be learned from all that was had.

A mixture of tender moments, sadness, laughter and despair, teaching us who we are,
showing us how to care.

There is a guiding hand in all of this taking us to each level, each chapter of our lives, lifting
us up when we fall, pulling us up gently, speaking into our hearts a new song, a new hope
a new direction.
