Premium Member Rachel's Special Challenges

Rachel’s birth brought early challenges
Surgery closed a hole in her heart
         Learning disabilities discovered later

A “special” child, she pursued a regular education
      But she was not regular
She learned to read a bit; could not do math

At age 30, Rachel asked why she couldn’t have children
She could, of course, but it was discouraged
Her mother’s only child would not give her grandchildren

So Rachel raises cats, several of them, for companionship
Felines brought up in a loving home
To Rachel, they are her daughters

Now her mother is getting older
She dreads the thought of Rachel placed in a group home
Rachel is still a child on Christmas and birthdays

But there is no one, no young living relatives, to step up
     Her mother cries every night
In her 70s, she still works long hours

It is not knowing what will happen to Rachel
That prevents her mother from finding happiness
She prays God will help her daughter when she’s gone

It’s hard to say which of their lives is more challenging
Still, they press forward and grab every joy life offers
          It is the only way

Imagine the unique problems children with disabilities face
They need our support and encouragement
Rachel gets these, but how many others do not?

CHALLENGES

By Edmund Siejka

He faced a challenge
That forced him to use all his abilities
But doubt clouded his judgement
Caution gave way to uncertainty.
Needing help
He recalled these words:

1.	Believe in yourself
              Never bend your head
              Hold it high
And look the world straight in the eye.
       2. Smell the coffee.
       3. Stand on your own two legs.
       4. Life is in front of you.
       5. Seize the day.
      6. Get up and get moving.
      7. Work smarter, not harder.
      8. Save for a rainy day.
      9. The tough get going when the going gets tough.
    10. K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid.
    11. Put a glide in your stride and a pep in your step.
    12. Let’s get moving, we’re burning daylight.
    13. Don’t deter from the main effort.
   14. Every strike brings you closer to the next home run.
   15. It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.
   16. Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb. That’s where the fruit is.
   17. A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.
   18. Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, ‘I’m possible.’
   19. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
   20. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
   21. The mind is everything. What you think you become.
   22. The road to success is always under construction.
   23. Becoming is better than being.
   24. Nothing is interesting if you’re not interested.
   25. Look at a half empty glass as half full.
   26. Ambition can’t wait.
   27. Age is of no importance unless you’re a cheese.

And last, but not least:
   28. Wake the hell up.

The Only Topic

The Only Topic
Every Morning I get up and the very first thing I do,
Is switch on the Teli, to find out the latest Hullabaloo.
Well it might be Carl, Sam or Kochy/Kochie on 7, 9, SBS or the ABC.
They won`t be talking about murder, riots or some ship in a storm out to sea.
You guessed it, it’s the Corona virus their on about and how much damage it has done.
The effect upon our economy, all the latest fatalities who have unfortunately succumbed, the stats of infected ones.
I`ve heard it all before, for months and months, on they go,
But I need to hear it again and again, even though it makes my spirit low.
We have mostly forgotten all the millions in refugee camps, around the place.
The starving, abused and mistreated who daily, have the same old issues to face.
We worry about the mental effects this is having on the people of our Land.
When we should be thanking God above for our fortune rare and Grand.
There is still a heap of freedom, plenty of food for us to buy.
Money from the government and civil servants who still care enough to try.
This is not a time of sorrow but a time to come awake.
To see what we are made of and give the crud a shake.
This world has always seen tragedy, wars, famine, disasters and pain
but it also has beauty, warmth , love, mateship and life giving rain.
So buck up ol chaps and put a grin above your chin
Not everybody loses and not everyone will win.
But we can all make our choices to either cry, grizzle or complain
Or to rejoice while the breaths still in us and to keep ourselves sane.
The virus isn’t here to deny us, rather it is another sort of test,
And like every challenge in history before, we will beat it just like we did the rest.

Perseverance

Success is the reward for hard work;
It’s irrelevant if in school or at work.
Just remain constant and do your best,
There’s no end to the measure of success.

Life has countless ups and downs,
Unsure of the next thing coming around.
Barricades arise on your journey of life,
Reject them and pursue your passion in life.

We tend to measure our success,
On the merit of our peer’s progress.
Not accounting for our own intellect,
Like not receiving credit for extra credit.

No matter what you’re up against,
Never let up on your defense.
Work hard and keep your balance,
Everyone is born with special talent.

Human Love

Precious memories obscured by time wander in his head
Fragments of a promise vowed to the woman he needed
Thoughts subcutaneously flashed minding crucial matter
Ordained hearts await to inhabit their dreams thereafter

Obstacles stealthily conceal answers from probing minds
While confidence reassures veracity measures their finds
Determined to detangle blind perceptions tenacity reigns
Impending storms can not deter hunger destiny reclaims

Anomaly is a toxic burden to ambiguities obfuscating life
Ruby denotes confusion emerald suggest free from strife
Undying devotion flaming with emotions a curative salve
Hands and fingers gently clasped epitomize human love!

Accept the Challenges In Life As It Is the Gift To Help Us Grow

Accept the Challenges in Life, as it is the Gift to help us Grow

Challenges are not always good in our life, because there is a chance we might get lose by not accomplished it or cannot overcome them.
But sometimes we have no choice and be confronted directly with them, so sometimes we are being thrown to the lions we have to react on it, as it is to complete an lifetimes opportunity for ourselves.
At that time, it is a difficult tasks, but if we start with a quick decision will give us more opportunities and upon the completion it will give us great aplomb and guaranteed satisfaction.
Life is really a mystery for us, because we never know when and what kind of challenge we are going to face.
We only know that we have to perform and complete the challenge to move forward with our life, because the failure will weaken us with an uncertainty in our mind.
The mental processing can be almost unforgettable, with each new challenge that we are facing with around the same subject repeatedly, it will break our nerves loose.
As we had accepted and completed our challenges, we get richer and stronger by experiences and thus can be assured of able to handle every new challenge ahead of us.
And we also will be ready if a similar event would occur in the future.
So try not to have doubt over our challenging tasks and immediately think with realistically about the experience at that time with a quick action as fast as lightning to achieve the best possible outcome.
Thus our self-confidence will be growing rapidly and it will be easier for us to handle for other life challenges.

I wish you a healthy life.

Smile, smile, smile, through all of life's challenges
Through happy times and the occasional counterbalances
It turns out in the end
With the help of friends
We somehow make it through all the hoohaw and wranglings

Premium Member Monolinear

but a collection of slim syllables which became monolinear
to keep the vocabulary from becoming even skinnier

no matter what is written, experienced or elegantly lied
existence flows toward eternity for change will not be denied

trying not to get lost in depth of individual helplessness
prime numbers and beings stand entirely on their own prerequisites

denial that existence must be about each species improvement
would deeply flawed gods create humans simply for their own amusement?

where things choose to correspond to individual dependencies
hard to shed the burdens of our ancestors' habits and tendencies

written history becomes polluted, diluted, often obscured
all remembrance soon fades, despite how robust or heavily insured
human lives are molded by the severity of challenges endured

Premium Member Triumphant Over Personal Challenges

Wrestling not with flesh and blood…
Here am I battling with forces in my mind and soul
As I see myself plunging into the sinkhole of midlife crises…
Oh, God, Your grace I beseech to pull me toward sobriety’s leverage
…Prop my faith by Your truth and mercy’s fortitude.

Confronting every fragment of self-pity’s guilt…
Here am I struggling over weakness-angst’s realities
As I confess my engagements with comfort-sparkled illusion…
My Lord, endue me with wisdom for a decisive resolution, indeed peace-filled
…Protect my testimony from being labeled as spiritual derelict.

Facing ambivalence midst maturity challenges…
Here am I subduing attacks of aging-related psychosis
As I admit my vulnerability and fears regarding my health…
Dear Saviour, uphold me in my well-being afflictions
…Propel my triumphant walk’s commitment against instability’s* fall.

*James 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

Premium Member Be Not Afraid

Be Not Afraid

Life’s full of real mysteries and unending challenges,
yet, never despair, rather always be resolute and bold.

At times, some people in varied situations, always
thrive on playing to the certain fears of other people.

Sad to say, it just seems that some people want to be
“Human Creatures,” vice being polite “Human Beings.”

What to do? Do nothing. The actions of those who want
to be rude and nasty reflect the reality of who they are.

Being kind, well-mannered, and always polite does, in
fact, play positively to the “Better Angels of Our Nature.”

In the end, it all turns out to be truly a personal choice
concerning the type of person that one wants to be.

Choose wisely, I say, for the human experience is rife
with those who torment others and are always rude.

A swift and sure judgment at the end of “Life’s Run”
awaits those who are like this, and so, Be Not Afraid!

And remember that some true version of “Dante’s Inferno”
may truly await those who choose to be Human Creatures!

For them, I say, “Good Luck” dodging those hellish flames!

With Challenges Never Hides

with challenges and never hide

Our struggles may seem endless
but our determination is tireless
we refuse to be helpless
we'll keep pushing, limitless
our hope, unbreakable and priceless

We'll keep marching ahead
with courage, tenacity, and stead
no matter how difficult the thread
we'll move forward, not lose our head
for a better tomorrow we shed

So till then we won't rest
we'll keep putting ourselves to the test
grind, hustle and be our best
till we reach our utmost quest
together, we'll stand and overcome the rest.

Challenges of Parenting

I was barelegged with you in a field this morning.
You couldn't have been a day past five.
It was I who helped you navigate the long grass,
the dips in the soft, unseen turf,
you who found the ripe blackberries,
spread across your face like war paint.

Or was it your high school?
You walked off the grounds for the last time,
a sheet of paper pressed between leather
under your arm as your books always were,
I wore a simple floral top and black slacks,
a proud smile that just wouldn't come off.

I can’t recall. But no matter.

It's 4 o'clock , another sunny Monday,
that day after Thursday,
when that kind young man
who looks so much like you
always brings warm apple pie
just the way I like it.

He should smile more often.

Life's Challenges

I am Amanda sullivan

who needs peace and creativity,

who loves her son unconditionally,

who sees failure, but also positivity and gain,

who hates bullying, and deceitful relationships,

who fears a life alone, devoid of love and friendship,

who dreams of wealth, happiness, and a life by the sea.

Surpass Your Limits

I'm surpassing my limits imagine the vision,
Of grasping intentions to master existence,
A savage I've witnessed bedazzled by gimmicks,
I laugh but I meant this I ask for forgiveness,
My past interventions were passion resentments,
Relapsing and quitting soul nagging from interest,
So sad had to end this what I had is not a friendship,
My mask being lifted surpassing my limits,
Within found a Light there my Savior waiting right there,
As I prayed to It found a way to It cause ego never fights fair,
It's my only weapon in Spirit small voice at times I can't hear it,
But It told me to not fear It just persevere and come near It,
With one step I start coming to a slow jog now I'm running,
Can't procrastinate cause I want It with fascination I'm hunting,
My imagination undaunted to face the demons that haunt it,
With a small knot in my stomach surpass my limits I'm coming!
