Cautious Walker

Steps leading
down
      to a steep ravine
        one path to
take
The cautious walker
     moves slowly
measuring every step
     Let's not laugh too
hard at him
     He may look frazzled
but he has guts
   If he is careful
He will reach the stream
      This stream
flows through the canyon
      leaving small creatures in
   its wake
The light from above
    shines down on
  the ravine
Careful, man careful
   The dangers are real
    The time is very short
You'll reach your goal
    and see life from the
other side
If you move carefully
and do not falter
with your steps

Cautious Love

A newly found passion, a newly found love
In there eyes the other was sent from above
An engagement after only four days
Does God work in mysterious ways?
No. I say its the foolishness of the young
Like unprepared lyrics badly sung
Don't they understand the commitment they've made?
Because responsibility and obligation have now been laid
"Do I think they'll make it?" Honestly, no
But that doesn't mean for them to pack up and go
Loves are funny and tricky things
Whoever knows what's on the other side when the doorbell rings
Caution is important and in great need
Love can be a really good or extremely bad deed
So this is what I say to my special friends
Don't be surprised if it isn't those perfect ends

Premium Member Only Human

I’m only human
known to have put
my foot in my mouth
more than a few times

it’s why I hesitate to speak up
I fear regretting things I might let out

funny thing ~ I don’t remember once
ever needing to apologize
for saying something nice

Premium Member Cautious Man

There once was a cautious weird man named Berm
He was mortally so afraid of germ
No girl did he ever kiss
Saying I won’t get sick miss
Pressed her lips with fingers, thought there’s no harm.

Cautious State of Mind

I write what I want to do, but I don’t.
I write what I could do, but won’t.
But you wouldn't know that.
All you do is read,
All I do is write.
I entertain,
You be entertained.
Be cautious on what you read,
And I’ll be cautious on what I write.

A Cautious Risk

Your perfect in almost every since
A demeanor that warms my heart
It would please me to end up with you
The problem is I just wont start

Wanting to let you in
But my feelings cause a blockage
Half of me says yes half of me says no
My hearts just being cautious

Scared of putting in too much
Just to return and see nothing
Knowing that you cant wait, I try to debate
And hopefully come up with something

Though you are very different
It’s all the same I’m fearing
Accepting you and loving you
Then you disappearing

Wish I could believe what you say
But there are little value in words
And peoples action don’t match what they say
So it contradicts the things you’ve heard

Confused with all my thoughts
That interfere with what I feel
The past affects me so much
It seems hard to find the will

To open up a closed door
Not knowing what lies a wait
So I keep that same door shut
So that my feelings wont escape

Chopped up and butchered like before
Highly elevated off the ground
I refuse to get back up that high
Just to be let down

Though our feelings are mutual
And together we are bliss
I hate when things happen twice
So don’t know if I want to take that Cautious Risk

Cautious Love

Love can be only what you want it to be
I just want it to be a part of me
Love to me is like a growing oak tree
It grows slow but it’s pure
Love can be hard but there’s always a cure
The cure can be hard to find but it’s always there
Don’t be afraid to look, it could be anywhere
Giving up on love is like not living
Don’t give up if you are willing
Love is serious and not a game
Love can never be taken the same
You must have respect for love every time
Love will never stop on a dime
So don’t rush in at anytime
Take love for granted
For what you have maybe all you get
So be smart and hold on to it

Cautious

CAUTIOUS

taking light
into the
darkness
of every
heart
that touches
me

there are
no
illegitimate
moments
we ride a
merry-go-round
waving to
somebody
who is
not

mirrored
in times
golden happiest
moments
cautiously
we make
the biggest
decisions
of our
lives

The Cautious Clown

The cautious clown
hides his
crestfallen frown
behind his
Intricate crown
of color.
Never letting
his true self
fully seep through
the cracks of
vulnerability.

Premium Member My Child

My child…

My child newborn
	Feels earthly warmth
	My joy abounds.

My child now young
	Hears yes, no, maybe
	My sky’s the limit.

My child gains stature
	Sees viewpoints, images, illusions
	My world surrounds.

My child still cautious
	Speaks mirrored words
	My heart swoons.

My child reaches wider
	Investigates with why
	My brain electrifies.

My child examines afar
	Investigates with why
	My being sparkles.

My child now wiser
	Thinks balanced wants more
	My presence explores.

My child grows adult
	Remembers related times
	My love abounds.

Cautious Silence

It's both risky and in bad taste
to be too open about yourself
to others;

     Showing poor judgment, you'll
be looked down on as a nuisance
     when secrecy matters;

For it's tempting to blow loud
your own horn and that's nothing
but shameless vanity;

     Or feign meekness and deprecate
     yourself which is actually
     false humility;

You keep friends, especially foes,
guessing by holding all your cards
close to your chest;

     Bear in mind: Judicious silence
     is where prudence takes refuge,
     and is at its best!
